Opis:
The objective of this investigation was to test the effectiveness of the Acoustic Emission (AE) mea- surements in determining the critical stresses during four-point bending of mortar beams. Within the measuring procedure the parameter σcr/σ300 was calculated and analysed. Additionally, the influence of cement replacement by high calcium fly ash (HCFA) on the process of crack healing was discussed. Mortar beams with different content of HCFA and reinforced by steel microfibres were prepared for tests. After curing in standard conditions the beams were subjected to four-point bending test in order to introduce the pre-cracking. Thereafter the beams were cured in the lime water and loaded after 56 and 112 days in the same way as for the first time. Additionally the microstructure of mortars was studied in a stereo optical microscope as well in an electron scanning microscope including the Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). The results of microstructural characterization of mortar containing HCFA from lignite combustion are presented. The applied load level slightly exceeded the critical stress, producing intense crack growth processes however did not significant affected the load capacity of the beams. During the consecutive loading the decreasing tendency of σcr/σ300 ratio was noted. The obtained results confirm that the latter parameter can be applied as a measure of the composite degradation level for the elements carrying the repeated loads of amplitude close to the critical stress of the structure and also that the cement replacement with HCFA influences the process of crack healing.

Opis:
ITAM completed work on developing a prototype of the system designed to monitor and conduct cardiac rehabilitation at home. In the course of project execution, a number of devices have been made or adapted to work within the system. The primary problem to be solved was to develop a way of communication for these devices, which would allow the transmission of necessary data in a way that would be convenient for the patient and provide the staff supervising the patient with easy access to this data. Ensuring correct operation the system required a variety of cooperating transmission systems to be used. Communication within the apartment utilizes a wireless network based on a Bluetooth link. The parent node of this network is the Base Station, which is also an intermediary for communication between devices within the apartment and the Centre for Monitoring and Communications. The main module carried by the patient is the ECG module that, in addition to its measurement function, serves as a personal area network node based on elements of the ANT standard supporting the Messenger carried by the patient. This module is also tasked with supervising the patient outside the apartment, making communication with the Centre possible via a GSM/GPRS network. The Base Station exchanges information with the Monitoring and Communication Centre located on a server via the Internet. Access for the patient's doctor or support worker to the Monitoring Centre is possible from any computer with access to the Internet by logging onto the Centre's server.

Opis:
Limb physical movements disability is the result of illnesses or serious injuries, impaired execution of daily activities and limitations or even inability to perform working activity. Restoration of fitness in such cases is possible through rehabilitation that requires arduous repetition of appropriate exercises with participation of an experienced physiotherapist. Exercises using the robot to repeat movements would speed up the process of rehabilitation. The paper presents the concept of rehabilitation robot control system realizing a specified purpose.
Niepełnosprawność ruchowa kończyn powstała w wyniku przebytych chorób lub doznanych urazów, upośledza wykonywanie czynności codziennych i ogranicza a czasem uniemożliwia aktywność zawodową. Przywracanie sprawności w takich przypadkach polega między innymi na przeprowadzeniu rehabilitacji wymagającej żmudnego powtarzania odpowiednich ćwiczeń przy udziale doświadczonego fizjoterapeuty. Ćwiczenia z zastosowaniem robota do powtarzania ruchów rehabilitacyjnych pozwoliłyby ułatwić proces rehabilitacji. Praca przedstawia koncepcje systemu sterowania robota rehabilitacyjnego realizującego wymieniony cel.
