Opis:
Composites structures are widely using in varied fields of industry, where it has to take into account changes of temperature or it is possibility of fire hazards. Heat transfer and fire conditions in composites are very often analysis issues nowadays. A large amount of research in area of modelling heat transfer and fire loading of composites has been performed for both experimental studies and modelling and simulation. The most common areas of analysis of thermal composite structures are: multiscale modelling of heat transfer, simultaneous fire and mechanical loading, fire involved failure and temperature distribution under fire and elevated temperature conditions. This paper presents analysis of heat transfer in composites with taking into account their shape and thickness. The models include a convection mode of heat transfer. The first composite plate is 10 cm wide by 10 cm tall with a thickness of 1 cm. The modified structure has also second part, smaller plate on top 5 cm wide by 5 cm in right corner. They made of glass/vinylester composite. The plates are heating in one, two and three directions. The results are shown in forms of contours of temperature distribution and thermal gradient. Comparison of results for the modelled structures shows differences in the shape and thickness of the analysed structure.

The study presents experimental studies on a regular cross-ply laminate of a [(0/90) F]4S configuration. Each layer is made of VE 11-M vinylester resin (the manufacturer: "Organika-Sarzyna" Chemical Plants) reinforced with aplain carbon fabric (the manufacturer: C. Cramer GmbH & Co. KG Division E CC). The carbon fabric has the following parameters: Styles 430, filament Carbon 6K, substance 300 g/m , warp and weft 400/400 tex, 3.7/3.7 band/cm. Laminate was produced by ROMA private enterprise using the vacuum molding technology and technological parameters developed by ROMA taking into account the VE l J-M material specification. A program of the experimental studies was aimed on statistical analysis of measurement results of the in-plane shear modulus and the in-plane shear strength of the laminate. In investigations, the in-plane shear test was carried out in accordance to the PN-EN ISO 14129:1997 standard [1], but applying the modified procedure that takes into consideration the results of the previous research on the influence of a traverse velocity and of a number of stress cycles on static measurements of the in-plane shear modulus [2]. The mean value, the standard deviation and the two-sided 95 percent confidence interval for the mean value for the investigated quantities have been determined. Practical usefulness ofthe manufacture technology of the laminate was assessed.

The paper presents some experimental studies on a regular cross-ply laminate of the [(0/90)F] 4S configuration. Each layer is VE 11-M vinylester resin (the manufacturer: ,,Organika-Sarzvna" Chemical Plants, Sarzyna, Poland) reinforced with plam weave carbon fabric of parameters: Stvle 430, Carbon 6K, substance 300g/m2, warp/weft 400/400 tex, 3.7/3.7 yarn/cm (the manufacturer: C. Cramer GmbH & Co. KG Division ECC). The orthotropic laminate was produced by ROMA private enterprise In Grabowiec, Poland, using the vacuum molding method and the technological parameters developed by ROMA taking into account the VE 11-M material specijication. The PN-EN ISO 14129:1997 standard [1] and closely related standards [2-9] were taken into consideration in experimental studies on the static in-plane shear response by a tensile test of a [(plus or minus 45)F]nS laminate. A program of the experiments was focused on testing a rate of a testing machine crosshead and a number of static stress cycles. An influence of these factors on the in-plane shear modulus was investigated. Based on the conducted investigations, the modified experimental procedure has been proposed for determination of the correct value of the in-plane shear modulus and the in-plane shear strength.

Opis:
Wide range of different visual measurement techniques, which are used nowadays, shows the need of the development of geometry description possibilities. New applications of advanced materials require measurement methods, which can be used in the areas of reverse engineering, FEA modelling validation, rapid prototyping and analysis of structure deformations. Light and laser-based techniques such as photogrammetry, laser triangulation, Moire and optical coherence tomography allow for analysing geometry of the specimens. Widely used optical methods take into account the global and local coordinate translation, sensitivity, resolution, and measurement uncertainty. They are used in the respect to research trends such as direct shape measurement from surfaces, system calibration and optimization methods. In this paper, composite specimens’ geometries with artificial delamination inside and structures without delamination are analysed. Rectangular, curved and cylindrical shapes are investigated by 3D scanning technique. The measured composite structures are manufactured with autoclave and vacuum bag methods. Results presented in this paper, shows geometries different between composites manufactured by using these methods. Inspection process was executed in two steps. First, virtual models of the composite specimens are used to determine main geometry dimensions. Second, their curvatures and GD&T are determined. Additional, the thickness change connected with delamination is revealed. Used method gives an opportunity of observing specimens curving radius and manufacturing defects. Presented results shows that use of additional aluminum plate in vacuum bag method allowed to get specimens with high level of flatness and parallelism in the case of rectangular structures and cylindricity in case of the curved shells. Presented methodology of the inspection is simply, give multidimensional results and its application are not limited to laboratory conditions.

Opis:
This paper describes the comparison of different methods of flight data logging in multirotor unmanned aerial vehicles. Solutions used in commercial avionics systems are presented and compared with the current design developed by authors. Based on the literature and analyzed examples, requirements for two separate logging systems are formulated. This approach allowed to modify current solutions and develop new methods for the high frequency data logging. Three different memory storages were considered for this task - SD card, RAM and external NAND Flash. Based on the theoretical calculations, developed prototypes and performed experiments, the best solution was selected.

In a variety of microavionics systems for multirotor flying platforms, only a few are designed as open hardware and software solutions, suitable for scientific research. In this paper, we present our own approach – a modular, distributed control system. The developed solution is adaptive for new tasks, unified between each module and designed in an innovative hardware manner. The presented solution has been already developed in various designs of multirotor platforms intended for different applications.

Opis:
The subject undertaken in the study is a glass (fibre) – polyester (matrix) layered composite, of the mixed sequence, composed alternately of laminas reinforced with E-glass plain weave fabric (WR600) and E-glass mat (CSM450). The laminate is manufactured on Polimal 104 polyester matrix. The aim of the study is to determine the options/values of parameters for numerical modelling and simulation of static processes in shell structures made of glass-polyester composites undertaken, in MSC.Marc system, recommended in engineering calculations. The effective elastic and strength constants of homogeneous laminas have been determined experimentally according to the standard procedures. The bending test of composite beams has been conducted experimentally and simulated numerically. Numerical investigations have been focused on selection of options/values of the numerical modelling and simulation parameters. The experimental verification of numerical modelling of the bending test is positive in both the quasi-linear range and in the catastrophic – progressive failure zone.

Opis:
In this paper, a custom measuring system for propulsion units of multi-rotor UAV is presented. Designed solution provides measurements of thrust, rotational speed and power consumption of popular electric propulsion systems consisting of BLDC motor, electronic speed controller (ESC) and various propellers. The method is applicable to both single and twin (coaxial) configurations of rotors. Thanks to the use of a precision 6-axis force/torque sensor and sensorless method of speed measurement it is possible to record performance of propulsion with convenient PC software. The system is equipped with complete galvanic isolation between power and sensory circuits. A unique feature of presented solution is the possibility of remote reconfiguration of various controllers, governing speed or thrust of the propeller. Possible applications of the presented test rig are: estimating the performance of UAV design (flight time, power consumption, payload capabilities), mathematical modelling of electric propulsion and analysis of faulty states of rotor operation.
