Opis:
The aim of the study was to evaluate the reaction offacultative cultivars of spring wheat to autumn and spring sowingdates. Sowing of facultative cultivars in autumn is justifiedespecially after late forecrop (sugar beet, maize for grain), whenthe optimal date of sowing of winter wheat has passed. A replicatedfield experiment was carried out in the seasons 2013/2014?2015/2016. Three cultivars of spring wheat: Bombona, OstkaSmolicka and Struna were selected for testing. The autumn vs.spring sowing date of spring wheat was shown to result in a significantincrease in rain yield (by 0.7 t ha-1, i.e. 10.8%). The yieldincrease was the result of an increased number of ears per m2and 1000 grain weight in cultivars from autumn sowing. Grainfrom spring sowing was characterized by a higher content of totalprotein, phosphorus, calcium, iron, copper and zinc. The autumnsowing date resulted in an increase in the content of potassiumin the grain. Struna was marked by a significantly larger numberof ears per m2 compared to that in Ostka Smolicka. Bombonaformed a greater number of grains in the ear than Struna, but itdeveloped smaller grains compared to those in Ostka Smolicka.Bombona had the highest total protein and ash content. The grainof Struna contained significantly more starch than Bombona andless crude fibre than Ostka Smolicka. Bombona had a highercontent of phosphorus compared to that in Struna, and a highercalcium content than Struna and Ostka Smolicka. High contentsof iron, copper and manganese was determined in the grain ofBombona , whereas the grain of Ostka Smolicka was high in zinc.

Opis:
The field experiment with winter wheat was conducted in the years 2016–2019 at the Experimental Stations of Cultivar Assessment in Przecław. The experimental factors were: I – ag-ricultural technology with different intensity level (medium-in-tensity A1 and high-intensity A2), II – cultivar of winter wheat (‘Hondia’, ‘RGT Kilimanjaro’, ‘Patras’, ‘Pokusa’). Wheat pro-duction technologies were differed in the use of plant protection products, doses of mineral fertilization and additional use of foli-ar fertilization and growth regulator in high-intensity technology. The use of technology with a higher intensity level significantly increased the value of yield-forming parameters, grain yield and grain quality parameters, but did not differentiate the fiber and ash content in the grain. ‘RGT Kilimanjaro’ was distinguished from the other cultivars by the highest level of grain yield, the most favorable values of grain quality parameters (protein, glu-ten content, test weight, sedimentation index) and the lowest fat and ash content. Weather conditions prevailing in the 2018/2019 season, characterized by a low rainfall sum and high temperature during the formation of kernels, increased the value of grain qual-ity and chemical parameters, but caused a decrease in grain yield.

Opis:
The study assessed the impact of foliar fertilization with manganese and copper on the yield, yield structure features, SPAD, LAI, and the chemical composition of 4 spring barley cultivars. It has been demonstrated that the cultivars responded to the applied foliar fertilization with manganese and copper with yield increases. In the case of hulled cultivars Hajduczek and Promyk, as well as in the hulless cultivar Gawrosz, higher yield increases, compared to those in the control treatment, were observed after foliar fertilization with manganese than with copper. The cultivar Suweren responded more favourably to foliar fertilization with copper than with manganese. Foliar fertilization with copper resulted in a higher number of ears per 1 m2 and number of grains per ear and a lower weight of a 1000 grains. The relative chlorophyll content in F-2 leaves was higher in the cultivars fertilized with copper, compared to manganese; the opposite was true only for Suweren. The LAI index depended on the cultivar and the microelement used. The cultivars Hajduczek and Gawrosz demonstrated the most favourable LAI index. The analysis revealed a higher contents of both total protein and crude ash in the chemical composition of grains from micronutrient treated plots vs. the control plots. Larger increases in comparison to the control were observed after the application of copper than manganese.

Opis:
Background. Soybean is a thermophilic plant and is sensitive to unfavourable environmental factors. Therefore, the yield obtained varies depending on the growth location and study years. Habitat conditions in the south-eastern part of Poland are conducive to soybean cultivation, however, in other regions of the country satisfactory production can be limited by unfavourable weather conditions. The aim of the work was to evaluate the yield of soybean, cultivars Merlin and Lissabon, at three locations in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. It was found that the number of pods per plant was the most flexible and the number of seeds per pod was inflexible. Both varieties reacted in the same way to the factors studied. Material and methods. Field experiments with the soybean cultivars Merlin and Lissabon were set up in the years 2016-2018. Experiments were carried out in three experimental stations in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Cultivars Merlin and Lissabon (Saatbau Poland Ltd.) give high and stable seed yield in the study region. Weather conditions are given according to the records of the Meteorological Station PAAC in Boguchwała (hot and dry) and the Meteorological Stations ESCA Przecław (warm and wet) and EDCA Nowy Lubliniec (warm and dry). Soil sample analysis was carried out at the laboratory of the District Chemical-Agricultural Station in Rzeszów. Results. The cultivar Merlin, in comparison to the cultivar Lissabon, was characterized by a significantly higher plant density before harvest and crude fat content in the seeds, and by a significantly lower number of pods per plant and 1000 seed weight. The average soybean yield at ESCA Przecław, PAAC Boguchwała and EDCA Nowy Lubliniec was 4.18, 3.85 and 2.93 $Mg·ha^(-1)$, respectively. In 2018, the highest protein content in grain and protein yield were obtained. In 2017, the highest amount of crude fat in seeds was found, but the fat yield was the lowest. Conclusion. The quantity and quality of soybean seed yields were diversified according to the location of the experiment. Also, changing weather conditions in the study years had a significant effect on the studied characteristics and parameters. However, no significant differences were observed in seed yield between the cultivars (Merlin and Lissabon) depending on the study years. It is important to recommend varieties for a given region.
Ścisłe doświadczenia polowe z soją odmiany Merlin i Lissabon założono w latach 2016–2018.

Opis:
Pea is one of the most important legumes grown in the world. The seeds are used for food production and animal feed. The problem with its cultivation is the low yield and sensitivity to the course of the weather. The important factor is to determine the optimal sowing rate and row spacing, especially for new cultivars of pea. Therefore, research was undertaken to assess the effect of row spacing and sowing density on selected physiological parameters, yielding, and structural elements of peas cv. ‘Batuta’ in Poland. The results of the research showed that the row spacing and sowing density determine the values of plant physiological parameters, yield of pea seeds and protein content. The increase in plant density in the canopy caused a decrease in the measured parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence, such as maximum quantum yield of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) and maximum quantum yield of primary photochemistry (Fv/F0) and performance index (PI). The leaf area index (LAI) was lower with a wider row spacing. Row spacing and plant density determined yield of pea seeds, number of pods and seeds per plant and weight of seeds per plant. Wider row spacing resulted in a decrease in the protein content in seeds, while an increase in sowing density from 70 to 110 m2 caused its increase. The course of the weather during the vegetation period of plants significantly influenced the obtained results.
