Opis:
We present a real-time hierarchical approach to an on-line risk assessment at the national level taking into account both local risk analyses performed by key service operators and relevant interdependencies between those services. For this purpose we define mutually agreed predicted service disruption profiles and then propose a coordination mechanism to align those profiles. A simple, four-entity example is provided to illustrate the coordination.

Opis:
The study determined the local and average heat transfer coefficient and the heat flux on the surface of a cylinder cooled with a water nozzle. The inverse method was used to identify the heat transfer coefficient. An objective function was defined to determine the distance between the measured and calculated temperatures. Two models describing the heat transfer coefficient on the cooled surface were considered. The first model described changes in the heat transfer coefficient as a function of the sample radius and cooling time, and the second one assumed the dependence of the heat transfer coefficient solely on time. Numerical simulations showed significant differences in the determined heat transfer coefficients depending on the adopted model of the boundary condition. The performed tests included experimental temperature measurements at selected points of the sensor, numerical simulations of temperature changes, and the inverse solution.

Opis:
The paper presents application of the Markov chain model to assess the risk affecting critical national infrastructure. A method for relating different service states to transition probabilities is shown. Then, a real-life example is thoroughly analyzed. Finally, results of a numerical test concerning this problem are provided.

Opis:
The inverse solution to the heat flux identification during the vertical plate cooling in air has been presented. The developed solution allowed to separate the energy absorbed by the chamber due to radiation from the convection heat losses to air. The uncertainty tests were carried out and the accuracy of the solution has been estimated at a level of 1%-5% depending on the boundary condition model. The inverse solution was obtained for the temperature measurements in the vertical plate. The stainless-steel plate was heated to 950°C and then cooled in the chamber in air only to about 30°C. The identified heat transfer coefficient was compared with the Churchill and Chu model. The solution has allowed to separate the radiation heat losses and to determine the Nusselt number values that stay in good agreement with the Churchill and Chu model for a nearly steady-state air flow for the plate temperature below 100°C.

Opis:
The paper presents improvements of the developed system for hot plasma radiation measurement in the soft Xray range based on a Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) detector. Scope of work consists of a new solution for handling hardware time-synchronization with tokamak systems needed for better synchronization with other diagnostics and measurement quality. The paper describes the support of new modes of triggering on PC-side. There are communication and data path overview in the system. The new API is described, which provide separate channels for data and control and is more robust than the earlier solution. Work concentrates on stability and usability improvements of the implemented device providing better usage for end-user.
