Opis:
Residential and public buildings use for heating more than 40% of the total energy consumption in the European Union. Therefore, this paper discusses the modifications to the building energy standard, which is currently in force. It is based on the requirements included in the Polish technical building regulations and standards. The proper energy-saving police have been implemented to this kind of consumers to diminish the energy consumption. The analysis pertains to the values of heat transfer coefficients of building partitions as well as the indexes of the energy demand for various types of buildings. The analysis was conducted between 1974 and 2013. Moreover; the changes within this range, which will come into force in 2014 and will continue to 2021, which act in accordance with the technical requirements suitable for buildings, were also discussed. Furthermore, minimal thicknesses of insulation materials which enable meeting this requirements of a heat transfer coefficient for building partitions, were examined in the article.

Opis:
The energy saving tendencies, in reference to residential buildings, can be recently seen in Europe and in the world. Therefore, there are a lot of studies being conducted aiming to find technical solutions in order to improve the energy efficiency of existing, modernized, and also new buildings. However, there are obligatory solutions and requirements, which must be implemented during designing stage of the building envelope and its heating/cooling system. They are gathered in the national regulations. The paper describes the process of raising the energy standard of buildings between 1974–2021 in Poland. Therefore, the objective of this study is to show energy savings, which can be generated by modernization of thermal insulation of partitions of existing buildings and by the use of different ways of heat supply. The calculations are made on the selected multi-family buildings located in Poland, with the assumption of a 15 years payback time. It is shown that it is not possible to cover the costs of the modernization works by the projected savings with the compliance to the assumption of 15 years payback time.

Opis:
Genetic diversity of native Japanese dog breeds in the primitive type. In the following paper the genetic distance among selected Japanese dog breeds (Akita, Kishu, Kai, Shiba, Shikoku, Hokkaido) was estimated. In order to determine genetic differentiation we analyzed a fragment of the mitochondrial control region and 10 microsatellite loci. We found that variation of the nuclear DNA was larger than that at the level of mitochondrial DNA. Within a fragment of 614 bp of control region, 13 haplotypes were identifi ed. The highest diversity of mitochondrial DNA was found in Akita. Based on mitochondrial DNA analysis, genetic distance between breeds ranged from 0.003 to 0.018. The lowest genetic distance was observed between Shikoku and Kai (0.003), and the highest between Shiba and Akita (0.018). After the analysis of nuclear DNA, 65 alleles were identifi ed. The mean percentage of polymorphic alleles in the applied microsatellite markers was 94.4% ±2.5%. The analysis showed that, the highest distance estimated on the frequency of microsatellite markers was found between Kai and Hokkaido (1.066), and the lowest between Shiba and Kai (0.212). Hokkaido and Shikoku were the only clearly distinguishing breeds.

Opis:
Analysis of genetic relatedness and inbreeding in Polish population of the Newfoundland dog breed. The aim of the study was to analyse the fi ve-generation pedigrees of Newfoundland dogs, registered in the Polish Kennel Club and shown in 2015 in Poland. Pedigrees come from the Polish Newfoundland Club website and their analysis was possible with the use of the international pedigree database (https:// www.newfoundlanddog-database.net/). Inbreeding coeffi cient (COI) and ancestor loss coeffi cient (AVK) were calculated and pedigrees were analysed for the presence of common ancestor. Results indicate low mean COI values, with individual values ranging from 0.78% to 7.03%. The mean kinship was 3.14. Five-generation pedigree analysis did not show high inbreeding in the population studied and AVK exceeded the suggested value of 85% only in one case. It can be thus concluded that the population of Polish Newfoundlands, at least its part, presented at shows in 2015 and most likely intended for breeding, is not to be considered inbred.
