This study investigates pupils’ anxiety and enjoyment in the classroom when learning a second or foreign language. The particularity of this study lies in the comparison of two target languages (English and Dutch) in two educational contexts (CLIL and non-CLIL) at different instruction levels (primary and secondary education). While most research on content and language integrated learning (CLIL) focuses on English as a target language, the Belgian context calls for a comparison with the language of the “other” community, in this case Dutch. Data were collected from 896 pupils in French-speaking Belgium through a self-report questionnaire measuring pupils’ anxiety and enjoyment in the classroom, along with background characteristics. Results indicate that while CLIL pupils experience significantly less anxiety than their non-CLIL counterparts, English learners report significantly less anxiety and more enjoyment than Dutch learners. This suggests an important role of the target language for emotional engagement in the classroom and calls for further investigation into the role of target language perceptions. Finally, the interactions with instruction level reveal that while primary school pupils report stronger emotions, the effects of CLIL and English are much larger at secondary level.

Opis:
Aim. The article attempts to study legal fundamentals of realising women’s political rights in Ukraine. Equal rights for women and men in all spheres of social and political life is the important condition and guarantee for strengthening democracy in Ukraine. Methods. The research was conducted by applying general scientific methods of learning (analysis, synthesis, modelling) and private-scientific methods of learning (historical, retrospective, comparative and legal, formally logical). The general methodological basis of the article is made by dialectics, ensuring comprehensive studying the problems of realising women’s political rights in Ukraine. Results. Having analysed particularities of realising women’s political rights in Ukraine, it is worth noting that since 2010 gender quotas have not been set in the Ukraine’s election legislation until 2015. However, 2015 was the year of the first introduction of gender quotas, but they were not of imperative character. According to the new Election Code of Ukraine of 19 December 2019, gender quotas have become a mandatory regulation at the nomination stage. Conclusions. It is reasonable to make transformation of the stereotypes of the women’s role in politics and to draw more attention to mass media, contributing to extension of women’s political rights and destruction of the bias about women’s position in politics. Gender quotas in the election legislation of Ukraine are of great significance for all members of society in the political sphere, whilst it needs improvement of the administrative and legal mechanisms to ensure gender quotas.

The aim of this study was to assess the current state of small-leaved lime stands under climate change, as well as to identify optimal conditions for the occurrence and further growth of natural lime regeneration under the stand canopy to grow productive and sustainable mixed stands. The areas of small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata Mill.) stands in plain Ukrainian forests and mixed stands with English oak (Quercus robur L.) were defined according to reference materials (as of 2016). Growth and liveability peculiarities of natural regeneration of lime under the canopy of oak-lime stands in climate change were identified. The main stand characteristics contributing to maximal appearance and further development of advance growth of lime, such as composition, age and relative density of stocking, were determined. It was found that the lime stands of vegetative origin occupy the largest part of the lime forests’ area, being less resilient and productive than those originated from seeds. Small-leaved lime is the best associated species in mixed oak stands. The presence of lime improves health, assortment composition, and productivity of oak stands and increases their resistance against pests and diseases. In the future, lime can play an important role in the adaptation of forests to climate change due to its biological and forest properties and adaptability to a sustainable existence in a relatively wide range of environmental conditions. A summary of the studies complements a system of knowledge about the current state of lime stands as well as peculiarities of their regeneration and growth. The data obtained can be used as a theoretical base for forest management to promote natural regeneration and maintain the sustainability of these forests.

The present research investigates the nitriding kinetics of the near-beta-titanium alloy of Ti-Al-Nb-Fe-Zr-Mo-V system at 750, 800, and 850°C in gaseous nitrogen at 105 Pa for 2, 4, and 8 h. The parabolic coefficient kp of the layer’s growth rate and the nitriding activation energy E are set as the kinetic parameters of the nitrided layer’s growth. The activation energy for the formation of a nitride layer is ~108 kJ/mol. The authors discuss the morphology of the nitride layers as well as their roughness and surface hardness. The study determines the effective diffusion coefficient for the growth of diffusion layers in the temperature range of 750...850°C: Def = D0× exp (-E/RT), where D0 = 0.0177 m2 /s; E = 215.7 kJ/mol. The friction coefficient of the disk from nearbeta-titanium alloy with a bronze block is lowered by significantly more than 10 times after gas nitriding, and the temperature in the friction zone is reduced by 2.5 times.

Opis:
Comprehensive investigations of the Svisloch River phytoplankton were performed in 2006-2010. Samples were taken all-the-year-round at four sites: reservoirs Drozdy and Lake Komsomolskoye, sites along Vaneyev and Aranskaya streets (within the Minsk municipal section of the river). Species diversity of planktonic cyanobacteria and their contribution to phytoplankton abundance and biomass were determined. Potentially toxic cyanobacteria were detected based on the results of molecular-phylogenetic analysis. They contained a microcystin synthesis gene (mcyE). Obtained sequences belonged to the Microcystis and Anabaena genera, which were the most common in reservoirs worldwide and the most frequent agents of blooms. Several types of microcystins and a nontoxic peptide Oscillamide Y were detected in phytoplankton samples by means of LC/MS
В течение 2006-2010 гг. проводилось комплексное исследование фитопланктона р. Свислочь. Пробы отбирались круглогодично на четырех станциях в черте г. Минска: в зарегулированных водохранилищах Дрозды и Комсомольское озеро и на речных уча- стках в районе улиц Ванеева и Аранская. С помощью световой микроскопии определен видовой состав планктонных цианобактерий, оценен их вклад в численность и биомас- су фитопланктона. В результате молекулярно-филогенетических исследований выявле- ны потенциально токсичные цианобактерии, содержащие ген синтеза микроцистина (mcyE). Полученные последовательности принадлежат представителям родов Microcystis и Anabaena (= subg. Dolichospermum), которые широко распространены в водоемах мира и являются частыми возбудителями токсичных цветений. Несколько типов мик- роцистинов и нетоксичный пептид осцилламид Y были детектированы в пробах фито- планктона с помощью ВЭЖХ-МС.
