    This paper presents an anthropometric database of high school and university students from Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. Forty-one high school participants (21 males and 20 females), 13–17 years old, and 143 university students (74 males and 69 females) took part in the study. Twenty-one static body dimensions were measured. The greatest mean differences in the anthropometric data between male and female high school students were found in the sitting elbow height. In addition, a comparison of anthropometric data of male and female university students showed that data for males and females were significantly different, except for buttock–popliteal length, sitting elbow height and thigh clearance. The primary aim of this study was to develop an anthropometric database that could be used as a primary reference in designing products, devices and equipment for ergonomic learning environments.

    The article concerns the study of communication behavior of high school and university students in Piła and Chodzież counties. The main problem is the mobility preferences of pupils and students. The article characterizes the concept of city, urban transport and mobility, and then proposes a mobility model that takes into account the preferences of residents when choosing the means of transport. The article ends with a presentation of survey results and drawing appropriate conclusions. They will help in presenting the proposed directions of development of transport infrastructure in the Piła and Chodzież counties. The aim of the article is to assess the communication behavior of high school and university students and the ways of their movement.
    Artykuł dotyczy badania zachowań komunikacyjnych uczniów szkół średnich i studentów w powiecie pilskim i chodzieskim. Głównym problemem są preferencje uczniów i studentów w zakresie mobilności. W artykule scharakteryzowano pojęcie miasta, transportu miejskiego oraz mobilności, a następnie zaproponowano model mobilności uwzględniający preferencje mieszkańców przy wyborze środka transportu. Artykuł kończy się prezentacją wyników badań ankietowych i wyciągnięciem stosownych wniosków. Pomogą one w przedstawieniu propozycji kierunków rozwoju infrastruktury transportowej na terenie powiatu pilskiego i chodzieskiego. Celem artykułu jest ocena zachowań komunikacyjnych uczniów szkół średnich i studentów oraz sposobów ich poruszania się.

    The work of fr. Remigiusz Szauer represents another theoretical and empirical publication in the rather rich reserve of Polish studies of religion and religiosity of selected social categories. One can recall here works that have relatively recently been published (Mariański 2018; Štefanák 2018 – work on Slovak youth; Zaręba, Zarzecki 2018) and at the same time constitute a continuation of the research tradition undertaken by distinguished authors in the field of sociology of religion, e.g. Władysław Piwowarski and Janusz Mariański. Suffice to say that the entire sphere of the Polish sociology of religion in relation to this specific dimension, i.e. the study of juvenile religiosity, is characterized by a large number of both conducted studies and publications presenting the results of analyses. These are mostly studies that refer to a statistical, quantitative picture of the character of young people’s beliefs, change trends and the essence of expressed participation in a worship (Zaręba 2003; Mariański 2008; Zaręba 2008; Zaręba 2012). Comprehensive studies on the religiosity of young people also allow us to capture specific historical and generational dimensions of social life, their basic configurations.

    Introduction It is widely believed that the postural quality of adolescents is poor and this condition is blamed, at least in part, on a sedentary lifestyle and low self-awareness of body alignment and awareness of movement quality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the postural habits and trunk alignment of high school adolescents against university students with high physical activity and high awareness of the importance of postural quality for health. Material and methods 59 high school students and 82 university students, male and female, participated in the study. Three-dimensional trunk positioning in habitual standing was investigated using the Zebris Pointer ultrasound device. Awareness of habitual posture during various activities of daily living was assessed using a validated questionnaire. Results were analysed using Statistica v13. Results High school students were characterised by a greater depth of thoracic kyphosis than university students. Female high school students tended to have shallower lumbar lordosis and male high school students tended to have deeper lordosis. High school students showed worse lateral trunk inclination and greater pelvic to shoulder rotation. The most important observation regarding postural awareness was related to sitting position. Women from both groups were more likely than men to admit to sitting with a bent and rotated trunk and crossed legs. Conclusions It appears that higher physical activity and / or greater knowledge of university students contributes to more correct trunk positioning compared to the physically inactive high school students. Postural habits, however, are similar in both groups. Gender significantly differentiates both posture and posture-related habits.
    Wprowadzenie Powszechnie uważa się, że jakość postawy ciała młodzieży jest zła. Za ten stan obwinia się, przynajmniej częściowo, siedzący tryb życia i niską samoświadomość dotyczącą ułożenia ciała i czucia ruchu. Celem pracy była ocena nawyków postawy ciała i ustawienia tułowia u młodzieży licealnej na tle studentów o wysokiej aktywności fizycznej i wysokiej świadomości znaczenia jakości postawy ciała dla zdrowia. Materiał i metody W badaniu wzięło udział 59 licealistów i 82 studentów, kobiet i mężczyzn. Zbadano ustawienie tułowia w trzech płaszczyznach w pozycji stojącej nawykowej za pomocą ultradźwiękowego urządzenia Zebris Pointer. Świadomość nawykowo przyjmowanej pozycji ciała podczas wykonywania różnych aktywności dnia codziennego oceniono za pomocą zwalidowanego kwestionariusza. Wyniki opracowano w programie Statistica v13. Wyniki Licealiści charakteryzowali się większą głębokością kifozy piersiowej niż studenci. Licealistki miały tendencję do spłycenia lordozy lędźwiowej, a licealiści do jej pogłębienia. U licealistów stwierdzono więcej nieprawidłowości dotyczących zrównoważenia tułowia w płaszczyźnie czołowej oraz większą rotacje miednicy względem barków. Najważniejszą obserwacja dotycząca świadomości postawy ciała była związana z pozycją siedzącą. Kobiety z obu grup częściej niż mężczyźni przyznawały się do siedzenia z pochylonym i zrotowanym tułowiem oraz skrzyżowanymi nogami. Wnioski Wydaje się, że wyższa aktywność fizyczna i/lub większa wiedza studentów przekłada się na bardziej prawidłowe ustawienia tułowia w porównaniu do nieaktywnych licealistów. Nawyki postawy ciała są jednak podobne w obu grupach. Płeć istotnie różnicuje zarówno postawę ciała, jak i nawyki z nią związane.

    Opis:
    In this article the most important results and conclusions from two surveys are presented. The first one is an internal survey conducted among the students of the University of Wroclaw. The second one is a survey conducted among students of final grades of high schools located in Wroclaw. Both surveys were conducted in the years 2007-2009 on the territory of Wroclaw. Taking into consideration the purposes of this work, we will focus just on the most significant results and conclusions from the conducted surveys. Full set of data is available in a book discussing the results of a survey on self-presentation and the image of non-public higher education institutions (Grech 2010) and in an article discussing the methodology and detailed results of a survey of the image of University of Wroclaw (Grech 2011). The first of the presented surveys was carried out by a group of employees and students of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication of the University of Wroclaw, the author of this article belonged to. The second survey was the effect of a greater own project. Due to the lack of comparable surveys concerning Polish universities, the survey which is presented in a limited extent in this article is pioneering in character and before reference data for other universities are obtained, it gives a foundation for drawing conclusions about the image of universities in Poland. The obtained results highlight expectations, open and hidden factors determining the choice of a university, praised and negatively assessed elements of a university's image, ideas about other Polish universities, reconstruction of the image of perfect university. The analysis of the collected data shows a few dimensions through which a university is regarded and through which the decision whether to choose this or that university is made. These dimensions are systemic and hierarchical and - depending on the situation other criteria are regarded as important.

    Introduction: Statistical data from the turn of the 20th century shows a significant increase in the average human life span and, what follows, an extension of old age. The world is aging and Poland has joined the list of countries which have been classified as demographically old since the rate at which society is aging has become very fast. Purpose: The aim of this thesis was to become familiar with the opinions submitted by respondents regarding aging and old age, health problems connected with aging and preferred health behaviors.Materials and methods: The research was conducted between January 3rd of 2013 and February 15th of 2014 on a group of 200 junior high school students and 200 university students from the Medical University of Białystok Faculty of Health Sciences using a questionnaire created by the authors.Results: A vast majority of the respondents of the study groups declared that they have thought about old age. Among university students this percentage reached 38.5%. Almost 50.0% of all respondents acknowledged that older people are needed by society.Conclusions: The results show that the aging process should be contemplated considering multiple aspects of life: biological, psychological and social. Moreover, youth education programs about seniors and old age as well as about ways to counteract their stigmatization should be introduced.

    A Corpus-based Analysis of High School English Textbooks and English University Entrance Exams in Turkey

    This study aims to explore the missing link between English textbooks used in high schools (9th-12th grades) and English university entrance exams (2010-2019) in Turkey on lexical and syntactic complexity levels by using corpus linguistics tools: AntWordProfiler, TAALED, and the L2 Syntactic Complexity Analyzer (L2SCA). Official textbooks and complementary materials obtained from the Ministry of National Education have been compared against the official university entrance exams from the past decade. The results show that: (i) differences in lexical sophistication level can be observed between the two corpora, the lexical sophistication level of the exam corpus was higher than that of the textbook corpus, (ii) there is a statistically significant difference between the two corpora in terms of lexical diversity, the exam corpus has a significantly higher level of lexical diversity than the textbook corpus, (iii) statistically significant differences also existed between the two corpora regarding the syntactic complexity indices. The syntactic complexity level of the exam corpus was higher than that of the textbook corpus. The findings suggest that Turkish high school students who have to learn English with the official textbooks throughout their high school years will have to tackle low-frequency and more sophisticated words at a higher level of  syntactic complexity at the time of taking the nationwide exam. This, in return, creates a negative backwash effect, distorts their approach to L2, and raises other concerns about the misalignment between the official language education materials and nationwide exams.

Education for sustainable development at the Department of Environmental Management is based on Faculty traditions and incorporates elements of both physical and human geography. The educational program reflects rapid development of the world – it becomes more complex and technologically advanced. Traditional and innovative aspects of education for sustainable development implemented at the Department of Environmental Management are considered in this article.

    Opis:
    The Numismatics Department of the National Museum of Ukrainian History has in its keeping a little-known, but at the same time quite extensive and extremely interesting collection of ancient coins. Its core is formed by a collection which originally belonged to King Stanislaus Augustus. In its day it was the most magnificent Polish collection of coins and medals of recognized European rank. The collection went through rather complicated changes of fortune: e.g., by way of the Volhyn High School in Krzemieniec and Vilnius University it finally found it way to Kyïv. There it was initially kept at the University of Saint Vladimir as a part of coin room (Paweł Jarkowski, former librarian of the Krzemieniec High School was its organizor and keeper). Then it passed by the way of Peczersk Lavra to the National Museum of Ukrainian History. Until the Bolshevik Revolution it continued to grow, first through donations and acquisitions, and then also thanks to coins from excavations. Piercing or adding suspension loops was typical of gold Roman coins in the territory of Barbaricum, particularly those associated with the Dancheny-Brangstrup archaeological horizon (which linked the region of the lower Danube with Denmark by the way of Wielbark and Cherniakhiv cultures). These additional elements, as well as the domination of denarii from the time of the Antonines in the bulk of silver coins in the Kyïv collection, indicate that a part of this collection must have originated from local finds in the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and later from the area of Volhyn and Ukraine at large. Unfortunately, due to the fact that a vast part of the archives regarding the collection had perished or cannot be traced and the collection itself had become completely disorganised by numerous relocations and putting into hiding, it is usually impossible to establish provenance of specimens. There are, however, exceptions to this rule, and one of them is a quaternio of Licinius discussed in the article. Similarly, it is often difficult to determine whether the individual coins belonged to the collection of Stanislaus Augustus, or were acquainted later in Krzemieniec or Kyïv. Some of them must have been described in detail in handwritten catalogs prepared by F. Skarbek-Rudzki in the Volhyn High School in Krzemieniec and P. Jarkowski in the University of Vilnius. So far, these manuscripts have not been located in Kyïv archives. Some specimens from the Kyïv collection, especially the unique ones, can still be linked with J. Ch. Albertrandi’s descriptions of coins from the collection of Stanislaus Augustus. It is the case of four unique coins: an aureus of Septimius Severus, medallions of Valerianus and Licinius I and solidus of Valentinianus II; these specimens kept now in Kyïv colection must originate from the collection of the last Polish King (4 figures).
