This study addresses the task of predicting the transformation plasticity induced during pha- se transformation of the 16MND5 carbon steel from austenite to bainite under low externally applied stress using a semi-theoretical model based on the Greenwood-Johnson mechanism. Both models proposed by Leblond et al. (1989) and Taleb and Sidoroff (2003) sufficiently describe the evolution of the TRansformation Induced Plasticity (TRIP) during continuous cooling of the austenitic phase. Nevertheless, TRIP values predicted by these models unde- restimate measured data through the first half of the transformation and overestimate them through the second half. So, we propose in this paper a method to improve Taleb’s model in order to remove discrepancies between theoretical and experimental results throughout the whole transformation and obtain a better description of experimental data.

Opis:
Purpose: Systematization of knowledge in the field of defining and occurrence of key activities that make up the overall concept of digital transformation with an indication of the key stages of its implementation. In addition, the aim of the article is also to conduct a comparative analysis of selected models of digital transformation in terms of a number of criteria, such as: the degree of concentration of the model on the selected sector of the economy, the degree of concentration on digital competences, the degree of focus on management concepts, the degree of concentration on digital transformation tools, the degree of focus on the digital maturity of the organization. Design/methodology/approach: The objectives of the article were achieved through an in-depth analysis of the literature on the subject in the field of models of digital transformation emphasizing the stages of its course. The article presents a comparative analysis of models selected in preliminary studies developed by consulting companies and models created as a result of research works by other scientists. Findings: The authors of the article compared the existing models of digital transformation and suggested the need to develop a new model using the partial advantages of the compared models. The authors also indicated a gap in the need to implement a component emphasizing the importance of managing resistance to changes in the organization. Originality/value: The originality of the article consists in drawing a conclusion in the form of a suggestion of the need to develop work in the field of modeling the digital transformation process in the context of the theory of organizational change, with particular emphasis on key competences, focus on methods and resistance to changes in an organization wishing to go through the digital transformation process.

Purpose – The main objective of the article is an attempt to assess whether and how the digital transformation will affect the innovativeness of companies Research method – In the article, two basic research questions were formulated: 1. Does digital transformation affect the company’s innovation and if so, how? and 2. Can digital transformation change the structure and way of running a business in such a way that innovation can be more closely related to the entrepreneurial attitude of employees? The search for answers to these research questions was based on the analysis of published research results, collected information on the processes of digitization and examples of companies implementing digital technologies and developing digital business models. The analysis of the impact of digital transformation on the innovativeness of enterprises was carried out taking into account two perspectives: macro – digital institutional transformation of the economy and micro – digital transformation of the enterprise. Results – The thesis that the digital transformation of the company does not guarantee the growth of the company’s innovativeness, but its absence will be a strong barrier to the innovation will be formulated and evaluated in the article. The second thesis assumes that thanks to digital transformation enterprises can be more innovative and their employees more entrepreneurial. Conducted analyses allow for a positive verification of the theses formulated in the article and drawing the following conclusion: if companies want to consider innovations, they should undergo a technological transformation that will allow them to take full advantage of the opportunities that digital technologies offer in business. Originality / value – The article showed that digital technologies and, in particular, digital technology platforms offer the company’s employees the possibility of returning to the original Schumpeterian idea of the entrepreneur as an innovator. In the new digital model of the company based on a digital platform, each employee becomes an entrepreneur and at the same time has the opportunity to create innovation in close cooperation with the end user, and thus be an entrepreneur and an innovator.

Opis:
The paper describes two models for determination of Helmert transformation parameters with consideration of coordinate weights as pseudo-observations in common point primary and secondary systems. Precise procedure developed in the initial stage allows to determine those parameters and evaluate their accuracy. Coordinates are transformed from primary to secondary system in the subsequent stage. Both mean square errors of transformation parameters as well as mean square errors of transformed coordinates have effect on coordinate accuracy. Taking that into consideration, formulas allowing the development of accuracy evaluation of point transformed coordinates were derived. The publication draws attention to a need for optimum selection of weights when transformation parameters are determined; by using analysis of variance coefficient, based on verification of statistical hypotheses. Proposed description of transformation parameters evaluation and coordinate accuracy after transformation may be generally used with other methods of transformation.
W publikacji przedstawiono dwa modele wyznaczenia parametrów transformacji Helmerta z uwzględnieniem wag współrzędnych jako pseudoobserwacji w układzie pierwotnym i wtórnym punktów dostosowania. Ścisła procedura w pierwszym etapie pozwala na wyznaczenie tych parametrów i na ocenę ich dokładności. W kolejnym etapie transformowane są współrzędne z układu pierwotnego do wtórnego. Na dokładność współrzędnych po transformacji mają wpływ zarówno średnie błędy parametrów transformacji, jak i średnie błędy współrzędnych transformowanych. Biorąc to pod uwagę, wyprowadzono wzory pozwalające na wykonanie oceny dokładniościowej przetransformowanych współrzędnych punktów. W publikacji zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę optymalizacji doboru wag przy wyznaczeniu parametrów transformacji, poprzez analizę współczynnika wariancji σ2(0') bazującą na weryfikacji hipotez statycznych. Zaproponowany sposób oceny parametrów transformacji i dokładności współrzędnych po transformacji może być uogólniony na inne metody transformacji.

The turn of the 80. and 90. of the XX century was a period of great political, economic and social changes in Poland. Introduction of democratic principles and Poland joining in the processes of European integration required a quick adaptation of the educational model to the changing social and economic conditions. In the new reality of the state's functioning the educational model based on central management became inadequate because it was applying uniform patterns of education characteristic for the communist era. The range of student's competence in the course of education was considered insufficient. In the era of market economy and general access to information the educational model based on encyclopedic knowledge also became inadequate. The required features which needed to be developed in a future citizen were: openness, creativity, initiative, the ability to function in conditions of competitiveness (Rodzoś, Charzyński 2005). It was particularly significant to prepare the young generation essentially for the proper reception and interpretation of the social and economic processes and changes occurring in the surrounding world. All of the above mentioned reasons lead to passing a bill on a new educational system by the Seym of Poland in 1990 and beginning the process of reforms. However, carrying out the reforms in conditions of the state's difficult financial situation as well as in the context of social habits formed during the 45 years of functioning in the totalitarian system causes numerous problems and inconsistency. The basic ones are: lack of cohesion of educational policy and frequent changes of the concept of reform resulting not from aspiration to increase the effectiveness of education, but from political and economic rationale; discrepancy between the theory of reform and its practical realization; appearance of activities and too hasty introduction of some changes, and lack of mental preparation of the society. These problems defer the process of reform and aggravate gaining positive results in the form of society's education which is better and well adapted to the needs of the contemporary world; they led as well to a decrease in prestige of the profession of a teacher. Despite the difficulties, many positive changes have also been obtained in the polish educational system, i.e. making education non-political, increase of the society's general level of education, implementation of the concept of life-long learning as well as introduction of many educational patterns copied from countries with well developed democratic systems, especially in the European Union.

Background: Intelligent software is a significant societal change agent. Recent research indicates that organizations must change to reap the full benefits of AI. We refer to this change as AI transformation (AIT). The key challenge is to determine how to change and which are the consequences of increased AI use. Aim: The aim of this study is to aggregate the body of knowledge on AIT research. Method: We perform an systematic mapping study (SMS) and follow Kitchenham’s procedure. We identify 52 studies from Scopus, IEEE, and Science Direct (2010–2020). We use the Mixed-Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) to critically assess empirical work. Results Work on AIT is mainly qualitative and originates from various disciplines. We are unable to identify any useful definition of AIT. To our knowledge, this is the first SMS that focuses on empirical AIT research. Only a few empirical studies were found in the sample we identified. Conclusions We define AIT and propose a research agenda. Despite the popularity and attention related to AI and its effects on organizations, our study reveals that a significant amount of publications on the topic lack proper methodology or empirical data.

In this study a group of selected transformation kinetics equations is applied to describe the isothermal ferritic transformation in austempered ductile iron (ADI). A series of dilatometric tests has been carried out on ADI at different temperatures. The obtained experimental data are utilized to determine the parameter values of the considered kinetic equations. It is found that the transformation kinetics models by Starink, Austin and Rickett are substantially more effective at describing the ferritic transformation in ADI than the much celebrated Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov (JMAK) equation. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that evaluating the kinetic parameters using the least squares method instead of calculating them from vastly used formulas can significantly improve the accuracy of the JMAK model’s predictions.

The rapid economic transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, modelled on Western economies and based, in some aspects, on neoliberal principles, has found the region's countries to a bigger (Eastern European countries) or lesser (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary) degree unprepared. The resulting economic recession, especially in Russia, has had an adverse effect on mutual trade between Poland and Russia. In order to improve economic relations with Russia and increase the trade volume, Poland, remaining within the bounds of EU standards and regulations, needs to adapt the commodity structure of Polish exports to the needs of the Russian market.

The paper presents a least squares collocation - based alternative to Helmert’s transformation with Hausbrandt’s post-transformation correction. The least squares collocation is used as an exact predictor i.e. it honors the data, thus the problem of zero residuals on transformation control points is overcome and zero residuals are assured by the method applied. Despite the fact that the procedure is presented for Helmert’s transformation it may easily be copied to any other form of coordinate transformation. A numerical example is provided within the content of the paper.

The article is aimed at contributing to the discussion of the role of the mass media system in political transformation. For this purpose, reporting on a political issue relevant to the transformation was selected for tracing the theoretical assumption along empirical results: the hitherto taboo topic of Hungarian uprising in 1956. I studied how 1956 was reported in Hungary’s main print media, Népszabadság and Magyar Nemzet, from June 1988 to June 1989. These newspapers, despite still being controlled by the government in the dissolving socialist system of the end 1980s, helped a functional public sphere emerging. The newspapers broadened the interpretive scope by facilitating dissenting opinions and enabled a hitherto suppressed discourse about Kadar’s role in the historical events of 1956. The results suggest the newspapers acted as professional mediators and had a systemic stabilising effect on Hungarian society in this smouldering conflict.
