In the context of the ongoing changes in the management systems of higher education, the issue of higher education institutions’ (HEIs) relationships with external stakeholders are of key importance. The article discusses the issue of external stakeholders of polish HEIs. The aim of it is to answer following questions: Who is perceived by HEIs as their external stakeholders? What expectations external stakeholders formulate towards HEIs? In order to do so, a questionnaire was conducted among HEIs’ heads in Poland, and the Polish and foreign literature on the subject was analysed. The results of survey show that many entities are in the network of Polish HEIs external stakeholders, however key categories of stakeholders are: employers, economy representatives, regional authorities, and labor market institutions.

At the moment the problem of dealing with external environment is an important issue of effective corporate strategic management in the enterprise. One of the factors of company interaction with external environment is company stakeholders. At the moment the theoretical basis of stakeholder analysis is researched insufficiently. The current research pursued the two goals: to show on which stage of strategic management process stakeholder analysis influences corporate activity and to provide effective theoretical and practical ground for the selection of stakeholders. In order to achieve the first goal the main aspects of stakeholder theory are reviewed in the paper. The place of stakeholder analysis in strategic management process is identified. It is argued that the interests of the most influential stakeholders should be considered in corporate goals, strategy and the strategic decision making process due to the “strategic necessity”. The latter means that consideration of the stakeholder influence leads to the increase of corporate performance effectiveness and fi nancial stability. The second objective is achieved through the review of possible techniques that could be used for stakeholder selection. The most appropriate for such purpose techniques are identifi ed by the analysis of their advantageous and disadvantageous. As the result of the review it is proposed to conduct the stakeholder selection basing on application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The example of application of such method for stakeholder selection is presented in the article.

Purpose: The aim of this paper is to analyze possibilities of using sentiment analysis in project management. Design/methodology/approach: The research methods used in the article were desk research analysis of available source data on the success of project. Then additional research was done on methods of sentiment analysis. Findings: During the course of this work was found a way of use sentiment analysis to improve project management. Research limitations/implications: The proposed idea necessitates research on the verification of the usefulness of the proposed indicators. Practical implications: The indicators proposed in the work have the potential to be used in the project management support application. Since the turning point in 1988, Polish economy has experienced rapid transformation with its challenges influencing all aspects of business activities. During the last decade of the 20th century Polish entrepreneurs had to learn how to compete in the new market environment and many of them succeeded. Evaluating and verifying their business undertakings one can risk a statement that emphasizing the role of corporate identity belongs to the major factors of the success. Moreover, shaping the company identity may fail to succeed without enquiring its stakeholders’ opinions, perception, and preferences. The key aim of the article is to present the importance of three groups of stakeholders who play a significant role in Polish as well as international companies, while underlining general tendencies in their behavior.

Purpose: The objective of this paper is to identify stakeholders categorization and prioritization tools, for the purpose of effective risk management of the enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Methods used in this paper include literature overview and deduction on the basis of concepts and approaches to the reputation risk management process analysis. Findings: In the age of the Internet, social media and the growing competition in the global economy, enterprises are exposed to various types of risk. The most crucial among them is the reputation risk, which has the potential to generate significant financial and non-financial losses. Therefore, reputation risk management is not only a need, but also a necessity. A significant stage of management is the identification of reputation hazards, taking into consideration the gap between the expectations of stakeholders and the need to satisfy them. In this article methods of prioritizing enterprise stakeholders for the purposes of reputation risk management has been proposed. The hypothesis states, that prioritization of stakeholders allows to indicate the most important threats to the reputation and to formulate relevant tools for its protection. Originality/value: Using mapping and sampling method to prioritize enterprise stakeholders for the purposes of reputation risk management.

The paper argues that re-regulating finance while preserving and augmenting its stakeholder-oriented component - as opposed to the shareholder/profit maximizing component - is needed not only to restore the stability of finance, but also to mend the market economy, saving it. Answering the question why financial re-regulation is advancing so slowly, this paper addresses the historical example of re-regulation of the 1930s. It argues that the lack of a strong prosecutor, such as Ferdinand Pecora in 1933, made the progress of the reform more difficult. It asserts that a serious re-regulation is the only way out to restore financial stability. Appropriate leadership will be needed to secure a reasonably rapid and smooth transition. Finally, the paper analyses why we need Stakeholder Finance.

Crises in company development are a particular subset of management crises. They emerge on various stages of company development, as a result of gradual depletion of effective management solutions. Crisis situations in companies have varied impact on company stakeholders. The paper presents results of empirical studies of factors influencing company relations with market stakeholders and those that facilitate the process of restoring and maintaining any relations that suffered in the course of crises in company development. The authors’ intention was to identify such factors and evaluate their importance, in relation to various stages of company development and the associated types of crisis situations faced by companies. Empirical studies suggest that certain factors may facilitate conflict resolution in matters concerning company relations with market stakeholders, and that the impact of these factors varies depending on the phase of organizational development and the type of the associated crisis situation. It must be noted, that one of the most important factors to influence problem resolution is the perceived honesty of the exchange participants. Moreover, research suggests that opinions on the significance of organizational dependence of exchange participants in the resolution of problems in relations with market stakeholders are varied.

Purpose: Main objective of the study was to develop a map of impact of particular groups of stakeholders on the process of implementing projects co-financed by the European Union in public universities. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses methods of literature sources analysis and quantitative research with the use of questionnaire distributed among managers of EU projects implemented in public technical universities in the previous financial perspective. Findings: Based on conducted research, the impact of identified groups of stakeholders on the process of implementation of EU project was assessed. Research limitations/implications: Identification of the impact of groups of stakeholders on the process of implementation of EU project should enable necessary management actions to be taken at universities that increase their absorption capacity. Practical implications: Project implementation unit, in particular the team of contractors with the project leader at the forefront, by shaping positive relations with environment, may affect the pace and efficiency of project implementation. By acquiring support of main project stakeholders, likelihood of successful completion of the project is increased. This, in turn, reduces uncertainty and risk associated with implementation of the project and costs incurred to minimize it. Originality/value: Original map of the impact of individual stakeholder groups on implementing projects co-financed by the European Union in public universities.

Research background: Cooperation within the public and the private sectors is one of the conditions for a tourist region to achieve a competitive advantage, and it is one of the most important aspect for building a regional tourist brand. Research studies often raise the issue of tourism cooperation; however, there are few papers undertaking this topic in the context of place branding. The issue of benefits and barriers of this type of cooperation seen from the perspective of the involved stakeholders is rarely the sole object of research and is often presented indirectly or implicitly. Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper is to identify the benefits and barriers of cooperation seen by the local government and other representatives of regional tourism organization in the process of developing a regional brand. Methods: To achieve the aim of the paper, the authors conducted a case study of a region, specifically Podlaskie Voivodship in Poland. This case study involved individual in-depth interviews conducted among representatives of organizations - members of the Regional Tourism Organization. Findings & Value added: The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of cooperation between tourism entities in the process of regional place branding. The authors established a conceptual framework for systematization of benefits and barriers of cooperation as seen by regional stakeholders. The benefits were grouped into the following categories: economic, organizational, marketing and social; and the barriers included economic, organizational, socio-cultural and political determinants.

Implementation of projects often causes social conflicts, resulting in delays or even abandonment of the project. Those conflicts often arise or are revealed around projects related to the development and creation of logistics infrastructure. One of the reasons for this is the absence of an agreement between stakeholders, including local communities and community organizations. The key issue in managing every project is to identify stakeholders and potential conflicts. One of the methods is a stakeholder network map that recognises the persons and groups whose actions are crucial to the success of the project. In the paper we present the result of the survey identifying key public sector stakeholders and potential areas of risk in the Rail Baltica Growth Corridor project. On the basis of these recommendations the stakeholder management policy has been formulated.
Infrastrukturalne projekty logistyczne charakteryzują się dużą złożonością oraz wysokim ryzykiem częściowego lub pełnego niepowodzenia. Zarządzanie tymi projektami powinno być wsparte narzędziami gwarantującymi obniżenie tego ryzyka. Praktyka zarządzania projektami pozwoliła na opracowanie i wdrożenie różnorodnych narzędzi wspomagających procesy decyzyjne w ramach projektu. Jedną z cech infrastrukturalnych projektów logistycznych (szczególnie międzynarodowych o znacznej rozległości geograficznej) jest znaczny wpływ czynników o charakterze społecznym (jednostki samorządu terytorialnego, stowarzyszenia o charakterze ekologicznym, grupy społeczne o charakterze formalnym i nieformalnym, zrzeszenia biznesowe, przedsiębiorstwa TSL). Wzajemne interakcje pomiędzy tymi grupami może prowadzić do konfliktów a w ich następstwie do zakłóceń w realizacji infrastrukturalnych projektów logistycznych (lub nawet do całkowitego zaniechania ich realizacji). Przygotowanie projektu logistycznego wymaga stałych konsultacji i wymiany informacji z tymi grupami. Efektywność wymiany informacji w dużym stopniu zależy od identyfikacji wzajemnych powiązań pomiędzy interesariuszami projektu. Narzędziem wspomagającym identyfikację wzajemnych interakcji pomiędzy interesariuszami jest mapa interesariuszy. W artykule autorzy przedstawiają koncepcję wdrożenia tego typu narzędzi podczas realizacji projektu Rail Baltica Growth Corridor. Celem autorów jest ukazanie możliwości obniżenia ryzyka niepowodzenia projektu poprzez budowę kanałów komunikacyjnych pomiędzy poszczególnymi grupami interesariuszy. Praktyka wykazuje, iż zaniedbania w dziedzinie komunikacji mogą prowadzić do znacznych trudności w realizacji projektów tego typu (casus Doliny Rozpudy).

The article presents the results of empirical research on stakeholders‘ impact to Lithuanian business organizations to perform corporate social responsibility. Theoretical research framework is based on International Business Environmental Barometer (IBEB) research tool and covers strength and types of different stakeholders, organizational strategies of relations with them, and consequences of stakeholders’ impact. The results revealed quite low stakeholders pressure on business organizations’ to perform CSR.
Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań empirycznych na temat wpływu interesariuszy na litewskie organizacje gospodarcze w kwestii społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu. Teoretyczne ramy badania opierają się na narzędziu badawczym Międzynarodowy Barometr Środowiska Biznesu (IBEB) i obejmują siłę i rodzaje różnych interesariuszy, strategie organizacyjne relacje z nimi oraz skutki oddziaływania interesariuszy. Wyniki wykazały bardzo niewielki nacisk interesariuszy na organizacje biznesowe w kwestii społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu.

The concept of sustainable development is widely used in public discussions. Unfortunately, it is often misinterpreted and reduced only to issues related to environmental protection. The article presents an attempt to assess the current state of knowledge of particular groups of stakeholders, as well as to evaluate the activities to identify, disseminate and use knowledge to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of stakeholders. Knowledge management in the aspect of sustainable development should be treated as an element of building a competitive advantage in the region. Surveys carried out among students and graduates of universities, employees and entrepreneurs as well as public administration indicated a problem in the area of knowledge in the field of sustainable development. Obtained results indicate a misinterpretation and very selective perception of issues related to sustainable development, often identified only with pro-ecological activity.
Pojęcie zrównoważonego rozwoju jest powszechnie używane w publicznej dyskusji. Niestety niejednokrotnie jest mylnie interpretowane i sprowadzane jedynie do zagadnień związanych z ochroną środowiska. W artykule przedstawiono próbę oceny aktualnego stanu wiedzy poszczególnych grup interesariuszy, a także oceny działań służących identyfikacji, upowszechnianiu i wykorzystania wiedzy dla podniesienia sprawności i efektywności interesariuszy. Zarządzanie wiedzą w aspekcie zrównoważonego rozwoju należy traktować jako element budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej w regionie. Przeprowadzone badania ankietowe, wśród studentów i absolwentów uczelni wyższych, pracowników oraz przedsiębiorców, a także administracji publicznej wskazały na problem w obszarze wiedzy w zakresie zrównoważonego rozwoju. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na błędną interpretację i bardzo selektywne postrzeganie zagadnień związanych z równoważonym rozwojem, często utożsamianym jedynie z działalnością pro-ekologiczną.

Purpose: The growing complexity of the environment in which they operate causes modern enterprises, including various types of organizations, to develop competitive management models aimed at meeting the expectations of various groups of stakeholders involved in their activitiesin the long-term perspective. This article focuses on the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the activities of the municipal housing manager in the context of its stakeholders. The study examines how stakeholders (employees, resource residents, entrepreneurs) perceive the city's housing manager's CSR activities. Design/methodology/approach: In this study, in addition to the analysis of the literature on the subject, the results of the survey conducted in the first and second quarter of 2022 among 363 stakeholders of the municipal housing manager were used. In the study, the impartiality test χ2 and the coefficient of T Czuprow convergence were used, with the significance level α = 0.05. Findings: The results suggest that each of the three selected groups of stakeholders perceive the necessity of CSR activities differently. The group that is the most interested in such activities are employees, the inhabitants of resources expect only actions aiming to improve the quality of their lives, and therefore actions within the aspect of local responsibility. Entrepreneurs in turn, are interested in activities in the social, external and environmental aspects. In addition, the results of these studies may contribute to the state of knowledge in the scientific literature by pointing to the importance of CSR activities by entities not focused on maximizing profits. Originality/value: It can be expected that the developed models will help decision makers of city housing managers to gain a perception of the stakeholder's awareness of and attitudes towards the CSR concept.

Opis:
The main purpose of the article is to identify the main factors that have the greatest impact on building satisfaction of employees who work in Polish organizations. In addition, the author will try to identify the expectations of respondents that apply to their workplaces and identify the most important problems and barriers in the surveyed organizations, occurring in the processes of human capital management. As the main research method, in addition to the literature analysis, of course, the author chose a survey, in the form of a structured interview, with team leaders and their employees. The entire research process was carried out in 44 purposefully selected Polish organizations, in 2021 (254 employees of these organizations took part in the survey). Of course, due to the number of subjects, the study has a pilot character. Based on the analysis of the literature and the conclusions of the survey, 4 main groups of determinants that have the greatest impact on the level of job satisfaction of respondents have been identified – they have been divided into professional and nonprofessional factors. In addition, the author described the main barriers that generate the most problems and dysfunctions that accompany respondents during their work.
