    Many positive behaviours of youth are related to their values. In the field of education value assessment is central. However value expression is often very ambiguous. Therefore in an attempt to measure values with more universal, global, and cross cultural perspectives, Nazam, Husain and Khan (2015) developed a spiritual values scale. The initial validation of the scale was based on item content analysis, item reliability, internal consistency, and exploration of the factorial structure of spiritual values. But values are subjected to change due to many factors. Therefore revalidation of the scale remains an important research consideration. The present study extends the initial validation of the scale by using structure equation modelling to revalidate the dimensionality and reliability of the spiritual values scale. The sample consisted of 300 adolescents. The results suggested that out of 27 items 4 items to measure spiritual values are ineffective. The scale with 23 items still remains a reliable and valid psychological tool to assess the spiritual values of adolescents.

    There are no greater treasures than spiritual values of the employees for their development and organizational development. Psychological capital provides a combined construct as a main contributor to the competitive advantage of organisations. The construct adds the value of positive psychological resources to the existing best measure of organisational worth, comprised of the more established constructs of social capital, human capital, and traditional physical and financial capital. The presented study examined the relationship between Spiritual Values and Psychological Capital among 100 school teachers and 100 non-teaching staff of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. A Spiritual Values Scale developed by Husain, Zehra and Jahan (in press), and a Psychological Capital Questionnaire by Luthans et al. (2007) were administered to them. The data were analyzed by means of Cronbach’s alpha and multiple regression analysis. Cronbach’s alpha for the total sample was found to be 0.947. Significant positive correlation coefficients were found between spiritual values and self-efficacy, spiritual values and hope, and spiritual values and psychological capital among males, females and non-teaching staff members. Significant positive correlations were also found between spiritual values and self-efficacy, spiritual values and hope, spiritual values and resilience, spiritual values and optimism, and spiritual values and psychological capital among university employees.

    The article deals with the church and religious life of Ukrainians in the context of national and political processes during the 1960s and 1970s. The author characterizes the anti-religious policy of the Soviet government, shows its directions, forms, and methods, studies the attitude of Ukraine’s title nation representatives to religious persecution and to manipulation of religious consciousness by the communist leadership, and highlights comprehensive atheistic activities and the elimination of the ways for reviving religiosity among people. The author reveals the essence, the process of creating and artificially enforcing the new Soviet ritualism in Ukrainians’ lives. This ritualism has become a convenient tool for popularizing communist ideology in the Ukrainian SSR, destroying historical memory and undermining the national identity of the Ukrainian people. The new Soviet ritualism was also a means for implementing the policy of denationalizing Ukrainians, beginning with the age-old religious oppression of Ukrainian customs, traditions, and rituals. The model of state-church policy of the Soviet power in the described period was based on the use of a variety of forms and methods of struggle against religion, including: a comprehensive control over clergy activities, destruction of religious sites and sacred objects, as well as administrative, moral, and political pressure on believers. Displacing religion, the Soviet totalitarian state destroyed not only native religious customs of the Ukrainian people, but also violated the principles of the centuries-old traditional culture and undermined the national fortitude of Ukrainians.

    This article shows – in the light of personalistic psychology – the subjective features of old people which are manifested in the works of eminent creators. The progress of inner subjectivity is shown as a specific developmental tendency. It is characterized by reflection, concentration on one’s own experiences, remembrances and encapsulating life events. It is readily observable that old creators are open to spiritual values and that melancholy is a predominant mood in their creation.

    Artykuł omawia poziom zachowania przekonań religijnych w nowoczesnym społeczeństwie armeńskim. Istotą tego tematu jest fakt, że dzisiaj Apostolski Kościół Ormiański prowadzi ukierunkowane działania mające na celu odbudowę swojej pozycji po czasach sowieckich. Ormianom udało się utrzymać swoją wiarę w domu lub na poziomie kultury codziennej, ale zostało to przeprowadzone bez pośrednictwa Apostolskiego Kościoła Ormiańskiego. Celem zaprezentowanych badań było zbadanie roli i znaczenia Apostolskiego Kościoła Ormiańskiego w kształtowaniu wartości moralnych i duchowych w społeczeństwie na przykładzie dwóch pokoleń – dzisiejszej młodzieży (18-30 lat) i starszego pokolenia (56-66 lat). Wybór tych dwóch generacji podyktowany był chęcią dostrzeżenia ciągłości postaw religijnych. Na podstawie wyników badań socjologicznych (przeprowadzonych w latach 2013, 2014) stwierdzono, że większość respondentów (szczególnie wśród starszego pokolenia) nie wykazała otwartości religijnej, co znalazło odzwierciedlenie w ich stosunku do uczęszczania do kościoła. Prowadzona w ostatnich latach aktywna działalność Apostolskiego Kościoła Ormiańskiego – w szczególności, przemówienia kapłanów w telewizji, radiu, przy różnych okazjach – doprowadziła do tego, że wielu Ormian uczestniczy w nabożeństwach co najmniej raz w miesiącu. Znalazło to odzwierciedlenie w ankiecie z 2016-2018. Zgodnie z wynikami badań socjologicznych okazało się, że rząd Armenii – z pomocą Apostolskiego Kościoła Ormiańskiego i rodzin – realizuje politykę społeczną, w której troszczy się o wszystkie grupy społeczne funkcjonujące w społeczeństwie i tworzy warunki, które umożliwiają społeczeństwu ormiańskiemu życie i pracę w ojczystym kraju, rozwijanie kultury i rodzinnej atmosfery, a także powstrzymanie naporu obcych wartości.

    Electroencephalograph (EEG) data provide insight into the interconnections and relationships between various cognitive states and their corresponding brain dynamics, by demonstrating dynamic connections between brain regions at different frequency bands. While sensory input tends to stimulate neural activity in different frequency bands, peaceful states of being and self-induced meditation tend to produce activity in the mid-range (Alpha). These studies were conducted with the aim of: (a) testing different equipment in order to assess two (2) different EEG technologies together with their benefits and limitations and (b) having an initial impression of different brain states associated with different experimental modalities and tasks, by analyzing the spatial and temporal power spectrum and applying our movie making methodology to engage in qualitative exploration via the art of encephalography. This study complements our previous study of measuring multichannel EEG brain dynamics using MINDO48 equipment associated with three experimental modalities measured both in the laboratory and the natural environment. Together with Hilbert analysis, we conjecture, the results will provide us with the tools to engage in more complex brain dynamics and mental states, such as Meditation, Mathematical Audio Lectures, Music Induced Meditation, and Mental Arithmetic Exercises. This paper focuses on open eye and closed eye conditions, as well as meditation states in laboratory conditions. We assess similarities and differences between experimental modalities and their associated brain states as well as differences between the different tools for analysis and equipment.

    This article reveals dependence between sense and life orientation and religious beliefs of believers. It is established that the tendency to understand God as a merciful and doting mentor is related to the aspirations to order one’s life according not only to spiritual and moral values but also to pragmatic and egoistic values which help preserve one’s individu-ality, contribute to fi nancial growth and solving personal problems. Domination of nega-tive ideas about God are accompanied by the indifferent attitude of a person to the issue of sense and life orientations.

    Opis:
    In the history of Ukrainian pedagogical thought, the problem of formation of a preschool child’s spiritual personality is given special attention. There are different approaches to the study of concepts, content and principles of spirituality, the spiritual world of an individual, spiritual and moral values. Spiritual values and priorities of society arise from cultural and historical traditions, the experience of the nation. The content of such dissimilar categories as “spirituality” and “cordiality” has been studied. Spirituality expresses orientation of a human being toward the transcendent, whereas cordiality is defined by kindness in respect of people. Spiritual values are monitored and supported by public opinion and human conscience which helps normalize relations, brings order to and maintains harmony in society. The main task of educators is to instill moral self-awareness in every child and teach it spiritual values. Program requirements include promotion of spiritual ideas about the spiritual ideal, enrichment of emotional experience and formation of a certain self-attitude. Formation of spiritual basics must begin in the first years of life. In preschools, components of spiritual education are implemented through various forms of educational work.
    W historii ukraińskiej myśli pedagogicznej szczególną uwagę poświęca się problematyce kształtowania duchowej osobowości dziecka w okresie przedszkolnym. Ustalono, że istnieją różne podejścia do uzasadniania pojęć, treści, zasad duchowości, duchowego świata osobowości, duchowo-moralnych walorów. Duchowe walory i priorytety społeczeństwa wyrastają z kulturalno-historycznych tradycji, doświadczenia narodu. W artykule zaprezentowano treść kategorii „duchowość” i „duszewność”, ponieważ posiadają one odmienne skierowanie. Duchowość wyraża skierowanie ludzkiego bycia do transcedentności, a duszewność cechuje dobre traktowanie ludzi. Walory duchowe są kontrolowane i wspierane przez opinię społeczną i sumienie człowieka, co umożliwia normalizację relacji, gwarantuje porządek, pozwala zachować porozumienie w społeczeństwie. Podstawowym zadaniem wychowawców jest moralne uświadomienie dziecku siebie jako osobowości oraz umożliwienie mu przyswojenia duchowych walorów. Wśród wymagań programowych znajdują się: wspieranie rozwoju wyobraźni o duchowym ideale człowieka, wzbogacanie własnego doświadczenia emocjonalnego oraz kształtowanie pewnej „postawy do siebie”. Kształtowanie podstaw duchowości powinno odbywać się już od pierwszych lat życia. Jest to okres poznania człowieka i społeczeństwa, odkrycia Boga przez dziecko, zapoznania się z życiem na Ziemi z całą jego barwnością. To początkowy okres tworzenia własnej tożsamości, podstawowych cech charakteru, stosunku do otaczającego świata, ludzi i siebie, a także przyswajania moralnych norm zachowania ważnych dla rozwoju osobowości, w tym jakości psychicznych. Jest to ciągły proces, trwający przez całe życie, skierowany na przyswajanie przez ludzi reguł i norm zachowania. W przedszkolach idea duchowego wychowania jest realizowana przy pomocy różnych form pracy wychowawczej.

    The proposed review is devoted to an unbiased coverage in Ukrainian textbooks of the history of civilizational influences, namely: Kyiv's cultural tradition in European society since Ancient Rus and prominent cultural and artistic figures of Western Europe in Ukraine. Proponents of Eurasian integration claim that Ukraine had nothing to do with Europe, this thought is rejected. Numerous examples confirm Ukraine’s intensive ties with European states, its original ethnocultural space in Europe.
    Proponowany przegląd poświęcony jest obiektywnemu opisowi wpływów cywilizacyjnych w ukraińskich podręcznikach do historii, a mianowicie kijowskiej tradycji kulturowej w społeczeństwie europejskim od czasów starożytnej Rusi oraz wybitnych postaci kultury i sztuki Europy Zachodniej działających na terytorium Ukrainy. Teoria zwolenników integracji euroazjatyckiej, którzy twierdzą, że Ukraina nie miała nic wspólnego z Europą, została odrzucona. Wykorzystując liczne przykłady, ukazano intensywne związki Ukrainy z państwami europejskimi oraz jej oryginalną przestrzeń etnokulturową w Europie.

    The modern world is characterized by rapid changes in all spheres of social life. These changes are amplified by extremely rapid dissemination of information, knowledge, values, tastes, and ideas from one society to another. The result is a new cultural phenomena, which are called “civilization“ and “ the modern way of life.” To change the values and ideological climate in today’s world it is necessary to strengthen the role of humanitarian and moral culture. To do this, it is very important to teach people kindness and tolerance, as well as the ability to conduct intercultural dialogue while understanding common threats facing humanity today.     Formulation of the problem. The aim of this article is to study the problems of patriotic and spiritual education of Ukrainian youth on the national and European values, the cultural interaction among different peoples and nationalities living in Ukraine (in perspective patriotic education), the respect for national symbols and the readiness to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The purpose of the article: 1) to determine the nature of the concepts of "patriotic training", "patriotic education"; 2) to expand features and educational potential of educational environment; 3) to determine the structure and criteria for the patriotic education of pupils and students. Methods. Theoretical-classification. Systematization, analysis and comparison of scientific approaches, concepts, definitions and summarizing the basic characteristics of the concepts to identify the essence of patriotic education and spiritual education of Ukrainian youth. Results of the article are determined by the method of implementation of patriotic education of youth, defined criteria structure features patriotic qualities and stages of patriotism person.
