Opis:
The research concerned the determinants of social competencies, which are significant indicators of the quality of interpersonal relations. The aim of the study was to verify the connection between social competencies and temperamental traits. The respondent group included 220 university students of different faculties aged 19-24. Social competencies were measured with the use of a Social Competencies Questionnaire (SCQ) by Anna Matczak, while temperamental traits were measured with The Formal Characteristics of Behaviour-Temperament Inventory (FCB-TI), by Bogdan Zawadzki and Jan Strelau. The research proved that activity, emotional reactivity and sensory sensitivity are significant predictors of social competencies. The predictive value of these traits differs depending on the kind of measured competency.

Opis:
Social competence is one of the basic key competencies of educational leaders, where the research aimed at targeted facilitation is absent. Thus, the study aims to verify the changes in the development of social competence and coping self-efficacy of future educational leaders within two courses (one-term course at university vs. one-year course at an educational non-profit institution) (university students of teaching branches: NUMB = 13; AMage = 27.8; SDage = 7.4; 29.4% men vs. participants of the educational institution: NNGO = 14; AMage = 38.6; SDage = 7.8; 21% men). The Coping Self-Efficacy Scale, CSES) assessed the overall level of coping self-efficacy and its four factors, and the Inventory of Social Competence (ISK – K) assessed four social competencies. Results showed a significant increase of low practical significance over time (pretest vs. retest) in the level of social orientation (in ISK – K) and an increase of medium significance in overall self-efficacy and in the ability to use strategies focused on problems and unpleasant emotions and thoughts (in CSES) among university students. After completion of the course, NGO participants increased (with a low practical significance) their SK-K levels of offensiveness and self-control and their CSES self-efficacy and ability to use strategies focused on problems and unpleasant emotions and thoughts. There were no significant differences between overall levels in the two courses. The study offers possible implications of social competence facilitation in the context of educational leader formation at Slovak schools.

Opis:
Objectives of the research: Social and emotional competencies are crucial predictors of effective human psychosocial functioning. Although research on social and emotional competencies has been carried out for many years almost worldwide, in the current era of rapid social changes, further research is necessary. Thus, it is still essential to validate international questionnaires to measure social and emotional competencies in different geographic areas, including Poland. This would make it possible to study the dynamics of the development of these competencies and to conduct comparative studies between different countries. Therefore, the aim of the study was to validate the Social and Emotional Competencies Questionnaire (SEC–Q) in Poland. Research methods: This study was conducted with the Social and Emotional Competencies Questionnaire (SEC-Q). A short description of the context of the issue: The Social and Emotional Competencies Questionnaire (SEC-Q) was completed by 1,052 students aged 9 to 16. The psychometric properties of the SEC-Q were tested through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Research findings: The results showed that the SEC-Q has good psychometric properties and, as in its original version, it includes four components: self-awareness, self-management and motivation, social-awareness and relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Conclusions and recommendations: Validation of the SEC-Q will allow for more research on social and emotional competencies in Poland, including an evaluation of programs for increasing social and emotional competencies and international comparative studies.

The lack of opportunity represents a significant challenge for government institutions, society, and universities, particularly for the latter, given their mission to produce professionals equipped to enter the labor market and drive positive change in their respective fields. In Mexico, higher education institutions have promoted entrepreneurship in their educational programs as a seedbed for entrepreneurs that allows them to develop skills as components of the entrepreneurial profile, and thus enter the labor market successfully. The objective of this research is to ascertain whether there is a significant difference between the components of the entrepreneurial profile of students enrolled in the business programs at the Technological Institute of Sonora and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Facpya-Linares), two universities in different states of Mexico. The research method involved a comparison of two universities that offer entrepreneurship or business training as part of their academic programs. The two universities in question are the Technological Institute of Sonora and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Facpya-Linares). The sample size was 320 and 447, respectively, comprising business students. An instrument was used to assess the entrepreneurial profile. To ascertain significance, a student's t-test for independent samples was applied. In terms of the reliability of the instrument, a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.942 was noted. The results demonstrated a notable discrepancy between the mean scores of the entrepreneurial profile components among business students from the two educational institutions. The significant difference observed at the Technological Institute of Sonora is that students there have a greater perception of the entrepreneurial profile than students at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León on its Facpya-Linares campus, who were more indecisive in their responses.

Training of social workers, based on Polish and EU standards of education, aims at their acquiring professional qualifications and competences. It also aims at the development of the profession in order to cope with the social challenges of the modern society. The analysed issue of the European training system of social workers is presented in the context of the legal regulations in selected European countries. In this context, it is worthwhile to learn the basic qualifications and competences of social workers obtained in the course of education in selected European countries. The presented study examines this issue with regard to Polish standards. There is a need on the one hand of the implementation of the UE legislation to Polish legislation, but on the other hand, every state has the right to apply its own solutions to the education of social workers, defining qualification standards of the profession. There is therefore a need for updating and developing educational standards in preparation for practicing the profession of social worker in Poland, using the standards of the EU, EU Member States and European states outside the EU. The article draws attention to these considerations, and tries to present these standards in the context of European and national educational standards.

The authors describe the role of the legal clinical education as an instrument for community empowerment through pro bono legal counseling, easily understandable e-compilation (Vademecum) of legal terms, and extended legal practice for law students, together with the development of their professional competencies. The new requirements in legal education, as determined by the government in 2016, focus on labour market needs, but academics and leaders of the University of Szeged have created an amalgam of tools for access to justice for local residents and NGOs in a less wealthy social environment, thereby introducing changes in education. The article proves how difficult it is to change historically-determined traditions in legal education in an innovative way, developing social solidarity, legal responsibility, ethics, and communication skills of the future generation of jurists in Hungary. In the course of the research, the authors analyze their own experiences since the establishment of the Legal Clinic at the University of Szeged under predefined requirement, e.g. number and type of cases or form of help. As a result, key fields are revealed where the work of the Legal Clinic is essential, and such a conclusion provided great help to further develop the partnership system and the entire clinical legal education at the University of Szeged.

Aim. The research presents a division of soft skills important for better socialising and being. Methods. The main method was a questionnaire survey completed by 98 pupils in the 3rd year of the mentioned schools. Results. We briefly describe the findings of the self-reflective evaluations of the students of two high schools and how they perceive and appreciate their personality in terms of soft skills. We mainly focused on social and personality skills from several areas and divisions of soft skills. Conclusion. Education must pay more consistent attention to the development of these skills because it is soft skills and their use in life that will be key not only for the advancement of the individual but for the advancement of the entire society. Based on our findings from the questionnaire, we make some important recommendations for the students.

The text addresses the key competencies of the future relevant to the labour market from the perspective of students of the humanities and social sciences. It is based on the research carried out in three universities: in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia (a total of 603 students were surveyed) in 2022 as part of the Erasmus+ project grant KA220-HED. Research results indicate that students perceive critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills as the most important for future work, given that creativity is ranked in the middle of the three universities by students. Students ranked low emotion management, time management skills and digital competencies in the labor market. In terms of gender in the 4Cs, there are differences – for men, critical thinking is more important than for women, while communication and cooperation are more important for women. There are no differences in assessing the importance of creativity – this reflects the stereotypical image of differences between occupations perceived as more male and female.
