Opis:
The article presents special methodology for developing figurative speech, which has a compensatory value among primary schoolchildren, with reduced vision. The complexity of the figurative speech understanding process and the need for developing it among visually impaired children was specified by the scientists, Litvak (2006), Sineva (2008), Fedorenko (2015). The principles (general didactic, linguo-didactic, and special) and the main tasks for developing and correcting each figurative speech component among younger vision-impaired learners are defined as follows: cognitive (development of the visual-figurative basis of speech); emotional (the development of speech expressiveness and the emotional-sensory sphere) and creative-practical (formation of skills and abilities for using the exponents of imagery in speech proficiently, the development of skills for active work with words). The directions of correctional work for each figurative speech component are described. The results obtained by implementing the experimental method indicated positive dynamism in figurative speech development among younger vision-impaired learners in the experimental classes for all the components established in the experimental study, pointing to the effectiveness of the proposed work method on their formation and correction. It was stated that vision impaired children are able to understand and explain the essence of imagery expression, which is available to pupils of primary school age; expressively read and talk about their feelings and emotions from the read literary text; use the means of imagery in their own speech consciously and appropriately, with special pedagogical guidance.

Opis:
The article contains the results of theoretical analysis and the state of implementation of pedagogical practice on the problem of gender education of children with intellectual disabilities of primary school age. This aspect of educational work is appropriate for children with intellectual disabilities, whose upbringing is complicated by underdevelopment of mental processes, a high level of suggestion and is closely related to correction. Gender education is a consistent and systematic process that is the basis for further stages of education and socialization of the child and involves the formation of the child's cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of education. Pedagogical support of gender education must organically embody truthfulness, adequacy and accessibility; dosing the amount of information, to correspond to the age of the pupils, their ability to perceive the impact and psychological characteristics. This attitude is aimed at a differentiated approach taking into account gender, the degree of mental retardation, methodological training of educators, understanding the peculiarities of the manifestations of sex in the child.

Opis:
This study aimed to evaluate the dynamics of emotional and psychological behavior indicators in children aged 7-8 years in modern society. The study was conducted in 2018-2019 in Moscow (Russian Federation) and included a total of 600 children of the second – third grades in three secondary schools. The first group included children from families with high social status and higher education of both parents, the second group comprised children from middle-class families with secondary special education of parents, and the third group enrolled children from low-income families with incomplete secondary education of parents. Children were tested for aggressiveness as well as attitudes toward family members. It has been established that in the first group, the model of upbringing was dominated by hyper-socialization of the authoritarian type. In the second group, the model of education was more balanced, symbiosis and cooperation dominated, exceeding the other parameters by 1.3–1.9 times (p ≤ 0.05). In the third group, average and high levels of aggression were stated to be significantly higher – 1.6–2.2 times (p ≤ 0.01). In the third and first groups, there was a direct connection between the frequency of instrumental aggression and negative attitude towards siblings (0.65 and 0.84, respectively).

Opis:
Niniejszy artykuł analizuje wyniki badań nad „ja-realnym” i „ja-idealnym” wśród uczniów o różnym poziomie własnej skuteczności w grupie w okresie przejścia z poziomu szkoły podstawowej do gimnazjum.
The article analyzes the research of the real and ideal self-images of pupils having different levels of personal effectiveness at the time of their transition from primary school age to adolescence. There are five category groups with which pupils describe the “successful pupil” image: generalized characteristics; acting and behavioural characteristics; personality traits (this category can be divided into two subgroups: 1) a person as a learning agent, the treats important for learning activity implementation; 2) a person's traits characterizing him/her as a human being); relationships with other people, other characteristics. The ideal self-image peculiarities are determined and compared, in dynamics, with real self-images of 3rd-6th grade pupils depending on their personal effectiveness. The research results give grounds to assert that the self-knowledge of primary schoolchildren has the form of self-perception and self-observation that are basis for creation of ideas about themselves; such ideas consist mostly of single images in specific situations. In contrast, at the beginning of adolescence, self-study and self-reflection become very important, which is a prerequisite for holistic, generalized self-image formation.

Opis:
In this paper, we discuss the problem of articulation between levels in the educational system, as the transition from a rather more communicative, contentbased and holistic approach to English as a foreign language (EFL) teaching at primary level to more formal and explicit ways of foreign language (FL) teaching at secondary is often experienced as problematic by students and teachers alike (see, e.g., Muñoz, Tragant, & Camuñas, 2015). The results of a mixed methods analysis are presented, in which we analyzed, through a questionnaire and language experience essays, perceived continuity between input received in primary school and secondary school, as well as learners’ beliefs, attitudes and self-efficacy before and after they transitioned to secondary school. Twelve primary schools and six secondary schools in Switzerland participated in the study, with a total of 280 early learners of EFL (biological age 12-13 years, age of onset 8 years). We will argue that one of the main reasons why early FL instruction seems not to bear fruit later in secondary school is that, on the one hand, coherence in curriculum design and practice vary in a few-but crucial-aspects within and between primary schools. On the other hand, the fact that secondary education becomes a meeting point for mixed ability classes also seems to mitigate the potential advantages of an earlier start.

Opis:
The objective of the study was to assess the status of physical education at different levels of school education in rural and urban areas of Przemyśl County. The study included physical education teachers working in primary, middle and high schools. The analysis showed that most of the schools in the city have better conditions for the implementation of obligatory physical education classes. In addition, most teachers complain about conditions in schools. According to physical education teachers, combined classes, lack of equipment and appropriate sports base are the most common causes of making it impossible for them to accomplish the program of physical education in schools in the Przemyśl County.
Celem badań była ocena stanu wychowania fizycznego na różnych poziomach edukacji szkolnej na terenach wiejskich i miejskich powiatu przemyskiego. Badaniami (kwestionariusz ankiety) objęto nauczycieli wychowania fizycznego pracujących w szkołach podstawowych, gimnazjalnych i ponadgimnazjalnych. Według nauczycieli wychowania fizycznego łączenie klas, brak sprzętu i brak odpowiedniej bazy to najczęstsze przyczyny uniemożliwiające realizacje programu.

three-dimensional puzzle
Opis:
Although mental rotation ability has been researched broadly in cognitive psychology and neural studies, development of mental rotation and the effective method of training are rarely considered as an area of study in the education field. We aimed to study the development of mental rotation through the training program by three-dimensional twisty puzzle in two groups of school students (8-9-years, n=13 and 11-12-years, n=17). This quasi-experimental study with the pre-test post-test design was conducted at the Tehran international school girls. The students' mental rotation ability was evaluated using the well established testing methods (VMRT; Vandenberg & Kuse, 1978). After the initial test and training program (twelve 60-minute sessions), the results of the within-subject ANOVA indicated that 8-9-years school children were incompetent after post-test through follow-up session, whereas the 11-12-years school students did make gain in post-test and three months after training program. The study findings suggest that development of MR ability by three-dimensional puzzles can be wielded throughout extra school training program among primary school students.

The aim of the article is to present the results of the study on early primary school teacher’s preparation for working with gifted pupils. The study was conducted among 697 primary school teachers teaching in grades I, II, and III in Cracow and nearby towns. The theoretical aim of the article is to demonstrate, on the basis of the subject literature, the most important predispositions these teachers should possess. The author's own study has revealed that teachers are not adequately prepared to provide effective and engaging education for gifted pupils at an early school age. In the last part of the article the author indicates solutions aimed at improving this situation, e.g. enriching the offer of university study programmes for teachers in the area of education of gifted students; creating a position of a "teacher of gifted students"; creating separate centres supporting educational development of gifted students; and extending cooperation between all educational units.

Opis:
The article presents the results of empirical research, conducted according to quantitative strategy, on the significance for the level of school helplessness of the conditions of psychosocial development created for pupils in their fifth year of learning in primary school in relationships with teachers and peers and in relation to the grades received in Polish language and math classes throughout the school year. The regression analysis indicated that relationships with teachers exert the stronger impact on the level of helplessness, followed by school grades, and relationships with peers. The teacher can influence each of these factors. This means that the chances that pupils have of fulfilling the developmental task for the age of 7 to 12, in accordance with Erik H. Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development, are largely dependent on the teacher. Not only the successes in subsequent life stages but also the motivation to learn, creativity, flexibility of thinking and acting, persistence, and the emotions accompanying pupils while learning are dependent on a sense of competence. The care and attention of teachers given to ensure that every pupil can develop their competences and sense of agency according to their potential is in the interests of pupils, teachers, and society alike.
