    Applying external scientific knowledge - i.e. knowledge achieved in the field of disciplines and sub-disciplines related to political science - in fulfiling such methodological functions as explanation and prevision (forecasting) is frequently approached in meta-scientific and meta-theoretical considerations as conducted on the ground of the family of scientific disciplines constituted by the sciences of politics. These functions can be ascribed to the purely epistemological aspect of scientific activity, not its institutional and organizational aspects. The dispute regarding the explanatory autonomy of political science is fallacious. From the logical and methodological point of view, the institutional “affiliation” of object knowledge, which constitutes a premise in complex inferences, does not play a role in the fulfilment of the assumed cognitive tasks; what is important instead is its epistemological credibility, as well as the goals of the research strategy selected by a given scholar.

    The following paper presents the problem of classification (identification) elements in the internal structure of a technical object. This problem is directly linked with diagnostics and compilation of an expert data base. The basis of a process of grouping elements into classes is to make a diagnostic model of a given object in a form of a structure or set of basic elements of an object. In order to conduct the grouping of elements into subsets of s-th classes, the following paper compiles and presents analytical formulas and classification rules. Theoretical considerations presented in this paper are also verified using an engine control system as an example of a complex technical object.

    This paper considers the proper location and function of critique in establishing a Thomist realism. The author begins by providing a brief explanation of Étienne Gilson’s understanding of critique and why he thinks a “critical realism” is incoherent. Next, the author considers the criticisms made by John Knasas who, from a Gilsonian perspective, argues that Jacques Maritain employs a version of the transcendental method of retorsion in order to justify his realism. Finally, the author offers a Maritainian response to Knasas in which it is argued that Maritain’s account provides a via media between the Transcendental Thomists, on the one hand, and the strict Aristotelian or a posteriori Thomists, on the other.

    The paper presents an application of Graph Data Base technology in knowledge engineering task concerned with knowledge representation of complex structures. The first example is graph representation of a composition of tractor gearbox. It is an example of application of static partonomy relation. The adequate codding of that relation in Graph Data Base is easily expressed in Cypher language. There were presented some applications of Graph Data Base useful in the management of the technical object existence in different “life” phases, as design, production, maintenance and recycling. The second example concerns the Graph representation of activity structure. Such structures were built based on an agricultural tractor’s technical revision system. Created Data Base allows for processing the queries referred to the questions of what activities in what period should be performed to maintain the agricultural tractor ready to work in good technical condition. The Graph Data Base technology is the first step to create semantic systems for data storing and processing in order to extract knowledge and information useful in precise physical process management.

    Opis:
    Recently, measuring users and community influences on social media networks play significant roles in science and engineering. To address the problems, many researchers have investigated measuring users with these influences by dealing with huge data sets. However, it is hard to enhance the performances of these studies with multiple attributes together with these influences on social networks. This paper has presented a novel model for measuring users with these influences on a social network. In this model, the suggested algorithm combines Knowledge Graph and the learning techniques based on the vote rank mechanism to reflect user interaction activities on the social network. To validate the proposed method, the proposed method has been tested through homogeneous graph with the building knowledge graph based on user interactions together with influences in realtime. Experimental results of the proposed model using six open public data show that the proposed algorithm is an effectiveness in identifying influential nodes.

    As the main tasks of the 18th-century Russian medicine were the support of the army and navy, and the protection of the empire from massive diseases, the regular research of local medical phenomena and resources was not clearly distinguished. The present paper attempts to reveal the ways in which medical knowledge was produced and communicated on the example of crude oil exploration by a Prussian physician in Russian service, Johann Jacob Lerche (1708-1780). Despite the fact that both his wide-ranging medical activities in different areas of the Russian empire and his extensive written heritage drew only fragmentary attention from scholars, they reflect the physician’s expertise in the research of naturalia which he manifested while performing his professional duties. Crude oil was one of the most remarkable mineral wonders of the Pre-Caspian region which Lerche visited twice (1732-1735, 1745-1747). On the basis of his three published accounts, which contain information on petroleum qualities and its practical application, the author investigates how the Baku crude oil, a natural object, was reinvented as a medical resource by an 18th-century state physician in the Russian empire. It is done through the consideration of the processes of world discoveries in the Age of Enlightenment, and the indigenous practices of the oil use. Finally, the significance of the author’s professional position as a state physician appears to have influenced the argumentation of curative qualities of petroleum and the advantages of its location.
    Od obiektu naturalnego do zasobu medycznego: Johanna Jacoba Lerchego produkcja wiedzy o ropie naftowej Ponieważ głównymi zadaniami medycyny rosyjskiej XVIII wieku były wsparcie armii i floty wojennej oraz ochrona imperium przed epidemiami, regularne badania lokalnych zjawisk i zasobów medycznych nie są wyraźnie rozróżnione. W niniejszej pracy podjęto próbę przedstawienia sposobów produkcji i komunikacji wiedzy medycznej na przykładzie poszukiwania ropy naftowej przez pruskiego lekarza w służbie rosyjskiej Johanna Jacoba Lerchego (1708-1780). Chociaż również jego rozległa działalność medyczna w różnych obszarach Imperium Rosyjskiego i rozległa spuścizna piśmiennicza przyciągnęły tylko fragmentaryczną uwagę uczonych, odzwierciedlają one ogromne doświadczenie lekarza w badaniach nad naturą podczas wykonywania jego obowiązków zawodowych. Ropa naftowa była jednym z najbardziej niezwykłych cudów mineralnych w regionie nadkaspijskim, odwiedzanym przez Lerchego dwukrotnie (1732-1735, 1745-1747). Rozważając procesy odkrywania świata w oświeceniu oraz miejscowe praktyki używania ropy, autorka artykułu na podstawie trzech opublikowanych relacji Lerchego, zawierających informacje o jakości ropy naftowej i jej praktycznym przeznaczeniu, bada, w jaki sposób ropa naftowa z Baku jako obiekt naturalny została odkryta jako zasób medyczny przez lekarza państwowego w XVIII-wiecznym Imperium Rosyjskim. Ponadto znaczenie pozycji zawodowej autora jako lekarza państwowego wydaje się mieć wpływ na uzasadnienie leczniczych właściwości ropy naftowej, a ponadto na zalety jej umiejscowienia.
