During its entire utilisation history - lasting several hundred years - the area of the Tatra Mountains underwent multidirectional anthropopressure. As the result, all components of their natural environment have been transformed, including relief and water conditions.The analysis of the literature on this topie conducted by the author, as well as his observations performed in the area, confirmed the assumption that transformations caused by human actions developed with varying intensity and admitted various forms depending on the area of action and the magnitude of means applied. The transformation scalę presented here estimates the influence of anthropopressure on the stability of the catchment area systems of larger Tatra streams, partial catchment areas of their confluents and selected slope surfaces. In systems, where the limits of persistence were not exceeded, stability was ensured by natural processes compensating for the conseąuences of anthropopressure. In systems where stability was disturbed, planned preventive measures are necessary.

The model for the free nonlinear oscillation of the slider-crank mechanism is very complicated and difficult to solve accurately using most of the existing approximate analytical schemes. However, the continuous piecewise linearization method (CPLM), which is a recently proposed semi-analytical algorithm, is capable of producing simple and accurate periodic solutions for conservative systems irrespective of the complexity of the nonlinear restoring force. Hence, this study applied the CPLM to solve and analyze the complex nonlinear oscillations arising in the slider-crank mechanism. The CPLM results were verified using numerical solutions and it was found that the CPLM solution was accurate to less than 1.0% for angular amplitudes up to 165°. Analysis of the frequency-amplitude response revealed the existence of asymptotic behaviour as the ratio of the crank radius to the connecting rod length approaches zero or unity. Hence, oscillation models for the observed asymptotic responses were derived and found to be significantly simpler compared to the original oscillation model. Finally, analysis of the large-amplitude oscillations of the slider-crank mechanism revealed the presence of strong anharmonic response.

In this paper, application of the computational fluid dynamics has been presented in the process of design natural ventilation system for the fishing vessel. There are two main types of ventilation systems: natural ventilation which is used on small fishing vessels and sport craft boatsand, and forced ventilation. This type of ventilation is a common solution on all types of merchant ships. In this paper, solution of the velocity filed in the cargo hold space of the fishing vessel had been presented. Natural ventilation system has been validated using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). All calculations had been performed in the free CFD software called OpenFOAM.

It is proved in the study that united territorial communities (UTC) can be considered as a complex natural and economic nonlinear, dynamic system capable for self-governance. It is proved that quantitative measurement of equilibrium is economic efficiency – Pareto efficiency, which requires optimal resources allocation among market players for production, taking into account their scarcity and limited products with their unlimited consumption. It is found out that management of internal opportunities and external impact interconnections creates the background for UTCs sustainable development. The main infrastructural components of UTCs sustainable development are economic, environmental and social ones. It is shown that the economic component of sustainable development is supported by the current mechanism of UTCs financial resources formation, which ensures stability and self-sufficiency of territorial communities. From the ecological component standpoint, sustainable development should ensure the integrity of biological and physical natural systems, their viability, which affects global stability of the entire biosphere. The social component is focused on human development, preserving social and cultural systems stability, reducing the number of conflicts. It is proved that current climate change is a paramount factor of the external environment, which seriously affects the parameters of UTCs` natural and economic system functioning. General analysis of the vulnerability of Ukraine’s natural and economic systems (NES) to climate change has been conducted. It is confirmed that climate change affects different sectors of national economy, but this it is not unequivocal. The expediency of finding new innovative management and business technologies is substantiated. It is shown that startups carrying-out within and in the interests of UTCs has several positive characteristics in social, economic and environmental context.

The paper presents the research results of field measurements campaign of natural ventilation performance and effectiveness in a residential building. The building is located in the microclimate whose parameters differ significantly in relation to a representative weather station. The measurement system recorded climate parameters and the physical variables characterizing the air flow in the rooms within 14 days of the winter season. The measurement results showed that in spite of proper design and construction of the ventilation system, unfavorable microclimatic conditions that differed from the predicted ones caused significant reduction in the efficiency of the ventilation system. Also, during some time periods, external climate conditions caused an opposite air flow direction in the vent inlets and outlets, leading to a significant deterioration of air quality and thermal comfort measured by CO2 concentration and PMV index in a residential area.
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań działania wentylacji naturalnej w budynku mieszkalnym, wielorodzinnym. Badanie przeprowadzone było w sezonie zimowym i obejmowało pomiar parametrów klimatu zewnętrznego i wielkości fizycznych charakteryzujących przepływ powietrza w pomieszczeniach. Wyniki pomiarów wykazały, że pomimo prawidłowego projektowania i budowy systemu wentylacji naturalnej w budynkach, niekorzystne warunki mikroklimatyczne, które różnią się od tych przewidywanych, spowodowały znaczne obniżenie wydajności systemu wentylacyjnego. Ponadto w artykule przedstawiono wpływ warunków klimatu zewnętrznego, na jakość powietrza w mieszkaniu. W badaniach wyznaczono komfort cieplny za pomocą indeksu PMV.

Opis:
Natural gas prepared for pipeline transportation must have appropriate parameters described in norms and standards. This entails a restrictive approach to acceptable changes in the composition of the natural gas in pipeline transmission system. The greater number of entry points to the pipeline transmission system causes a greater probability of natural gas diversity in terms of the content of its individual components. It particularly concerns the natural gas sources in which treatment methods are not sufficiently accurate and also imported gas. In specific cases where natural gas with a higher content of heavier hydrocarbons such as propane and butane will enter the transportation system, it is possible for the phenomenon of retrograde (reverse) condensation to occur. The occurrence of the two-phase system significantly worsens the pipeline transport conditions, causing significant pressure drops of transported natural gas. The article examines cases where the phenomenon of retrograde (reverse) condensation occurred in the pipeline transportation of natural gas.

The paper characterises the current state of development and use of equipment and monitoring-diagnostic systems of engine cylinders and reciprocating compressors. It has presented a prototype system for monitoring and diagnostics of motor compressors of GMVH type natural gas installed in the Krio Company in Odolanów. The system monitors on-line 5 stands of motor compressors. Simultaneously 12 engine cylinders and 6 compressor cylinders of each motor compressor are indicated - a total of 90 cylinders. Driven by the need to reduce the number of monitors in the control room, aprinciple to operate the system through one monitor with the capability of immediate switching-off of a monitored motor compressor has been adopted. A charts menu provides for simultaneous on-line observation of the work of all the cylinders of a selected motor compressor. For each cylinder of both engine and compressor, against the background of the average from 16 runs and average for the cylinder's unit there are presented a few indicator diagrams, which allows for observation of the variability of a cylinder 's work, which in a spark-ignition engines can be significant. Values of main parameters ofthe cylinder's work are presented in tables and bar charts. These include: the maximum pressure of combustion and compression as well as average indicated pressures. The indicated powers are determined for the engine and compressors and a mechanical efficiency of the unit. The fiber-optic "Optrand" sensors have been used for indication, mainly to meet the need of spark-safety requirements. For the measurement of pressure, 12-bit converter cards ofown construction have been applied. Values of pressure have been sampled with angle axis pulses 0.5° crankshaft rotation. Ethernet connections were applied to transfer data between the pumping station and control room. The study characterises the main conclusions arising from past experience of system use.

The article is an attempt to present the problem of natural disasters and their influence on the economy and the functioning of the insurance market during the interwar period in Poland. The Author reveals the picture of Poland grappling with a number of challenges such as the unification of the legislation or rebuilding of the economy deteriorated by the war. The country had to increase its expenditure in the aftermath of natural disasters. Poland is presented as a state that had to cope with disasters and various economic turbulences every three years on average. As early as in 1921, the whole territory of Poland was struck by scorching heats resulting in huge loses in its economy, especially in agriculture. Mid 1920s was a period of raging inflation but also a struggle with the flood, which had been the greatest natural disaster in the territory of Poland in over three centuries. The years 1926–1929 were the heyday for the Polish economy, yet Poland suffered the first signs of an economic breakdown in 1929. In the summer of 1928, it had faced a tornado that destroyed houses, obliterated forests and claimed the lives of many. A similar occurrence was recorded in 1931 in the area of Lublin, where a hurricane of unprecedented force ravaged the land. The turn of the year 1929 went down in the history of our nation as the winter of the century. Another flood ravaged Poland in 1934, when the country had not yet fully recovered after the economic collapse caused by the Great Depression. The flood caused losses exceeding 84 million zloty. The Author also presents changes in the legislation of that time forced by the disasters and, above all, the law concerning prevention of fire and other natural disasters. It was a law which owing to the support of insurers enabled fire brigades and fire fighter units to develop so that the general public and its property could be safeguarded against disasters in the future.

This paper presents the DISESOR integrated decision support system and its applications. The system integrates data from different monitoring and dispatching systems and contains such modules as data preparation and cleaning, analytical, prediction and expert system. Architecture of the system is presented in the paper and a special focus is put on the presentation of two issues: data integration and cleaning, and creation of prediction model. The work contains also two case studies presenting the examples of the system application.
W pracy przedstawiono zintegrowany system wspomagania decyzji DISESOR oraz jego zastosowania. System pozwala na integrację danych pochodzących z różnych systemów monitorowania i systemów dyspozytorskich. Struktura systemu DISESOR składa się z modułów realizujących: przygotowanie i czyszczenie danych, analizę danych, zadania predykcyjne oraz zadania systemu ekspertowego. W pracy przedstawiono architekturę systemu DISESOR, a szczególny nacisk został położony na zagadnienia związane z integracją i czyszczeniem danych oraz tworzeniem modeli predykcyjnych. Działanie systemu przedstawione zostało na dwóch przykładach analizy dla danych rzeczywistych.

The herb and the root of purple coneflower, the root of pale coneflower as well as narrowleaved coneflower have a very well-documented immunostimulating activity. Among the other medicinal plants influencing the immune system there are also the herb of pale coneflower, the leaf of Aloe arborescens and the mistletoe herb. Both macromolecular compounds such as glycoproteins and polysaccharides and the micromolecular derivatives of caffeic acid, alkamides and unsaturated alkyl ketones, are listed among active immunostimulators.
Ziele i korzeń jeżówki purpurowej oraz korzeń jeżówki bladej posiadają bardzo dobrze udokumentowaną aktywność immunostymulującą. W grupie leków roślinnych wpływających na system odporności organizmu wymieniany jest też korzeń jeżówki wąskolistnej, ziele jeżówki bladej, a także liść aloesu drzewiastego i ziele jemioły pospolitej. Wśród aktywnych immunostymulatorów znajdują się związki wielkocząsteczkowe – glikoproteiny i polisacharydy oraz substancje małocząsteczkowe – pochodne kwasu kawowego, alkamidy i ketoalkeny.

Zero-dimensional two-stage SOFC stacks dynamic model was developed to investigate the effect of operating parameters on stacks performance. The model resolves spatially thermal and thermo-electrochemical behaviour for electrochemical reactions, Catalytic Partial Oxidation and Steam Reforming processes. Design variables and thermo-electrochemical properties were obtained from in-house-fabricated SOFCs carried out by project partners. The completed SOFCs based Combined Heat and Power, CHP, system model was validated by data18 and numerical results obtained at steady-state mode showing its high-fidelity. A parametric study with respect to key operating parameters including changes in fuel utilization, lambda number and current density values was conducted. The global CHP system dynamic response, in term of the current/voltage delivered by two-stage SOFC stacks, under a fi xed fuel utilization, has been determined resulting in greater variations in the voltage of a single cell in the first stack in comparison to the corresponding values in the second stack.

The completed SOFCs based Combined Heat and Power, CHP, system model was validated by data18 and numerical results obtained at steady-state mode showing its high-fidelity. A parametric study with respect to key operating parameters including changes in fuel utilization, lambda number and current density values was conducted. The global CHP system dynamic response, in term of the current/voltage delivered by two-stage SOFC stacks, under a fi xed fuel utilization, has been determined resulting in greater variations in the voltage of a single cell in the first stack in comparison to the corresponding values in the second stack.
