The fusarium dry rot is one of the most important diseases of potato tubers causing considerable damages during the storage. Resistance sources are one of the fundamental methods in prevention and disease control. This study details the pathogenesity and assessment of susceptibility of commercially acceptable potato Cultivars to dry rot causing by Fusarium sulphureum , F. solani and F. oxysporum under similar conditions includings . inoculum , mehtod of inoculation, temperature , relative humidity and light. The results indicated that though the similar conditions were applied, the tubers of varieties reacted with differing levels of resistance to the species causing the disease. It was found that F. sulphureum was the most aggressive one, then fallowed by F. solani as far as the disease development is concerned and were independent. F. oxysporum did not cause considerable damages. In these expriments the commerical potato varieties were Seuminar, Rustica, clivastave, Dital, Escort, Monalisa, Marfona, Mondial, Aniona, Deraga, Asta, Hidram, Melisa, Moren, Mariyana, Pashandi, Frasco, Alva, Ceaser, Asva, Aula, Sandara , Marijke, Folva, Tiva, Fregate, Baraka, Aida, Diamant, Arnica, Panda, Atlas, Erigo, Volkano, Famosa, Carlita, Korrigan, Casmos, Assour, Cosima, Ariane, Desiree and saturna, in which started with most susceptible ones fallowed to resistance ones at end to F.sulphureum. The variety saturna were the most resistant one to the all tested species in these expriments.

Opis:
Safety of environment and human health is an essential requirement of modern industrial techniques. Therefore, using natural agents in tanning industry may emerge as a trusted method to avoid the chemical contamination caused by using traditional chromium salts in tanning process. This study aimed to evaluate the hot water extract of used coffee grounds (UCGs) as a vegetable tanning agent. The collected UCGs were dried and extracted with hot water at 90 °C for 2h. The phytochemical screening properties of UCGs extract were determined. Sufficient amount of extract was prepared to be used in leather tanning. Three groups were tanned with UCGs extract solely at concentrations of 20, 30 or 40% of pelts’ weight, while another three groups were tanned with the same concentrations and then re-tanned with 10% of a synthetic tanning agent “Phenol sulfonates”. On tanned leathers, organoleptic, physical and chemical properties were determined; scanning electron micrographs were depicted to examine the leather surface and collagen fiber bundles. Analysis of UCGs extract revealed that it has good tanning properties, as it contained tannins (14.92%), tannins/non tannins ratio (2.06), hide powder (39.57) and Stiasny number (21.16). The results of leather properties showed that using UCGs extract alone at concentration of 40% achieved the best results for the vegetable tanning where the tanned leather had higher (P<0.05) tensile strength, tearing strength and shrinking temperature than that treated with the lower level of 20% UCGs extract. However, 40% of UCGs extract is highly recommended to be used to accomplish the required shrinkage temperature that should be ≥ 70 °C. UCGs extract could be successfully used as tanning agent in vegetable tanning to produce durable leathers with good fullness; it may be used for different manufacturing products, such as footwear and bags. Moreover, using a combination of UCGs extract at any of the used concentrations with phenol sulfonates 10% led to significant improvement in all studied traits as compared with using UCGs extract alone.

Plant diseases are a foremost risk to the safety of food. They have the potential to significantly reduce agricultural products quality and quantity. In agriculture sectors, it is the most prominent challenge to recognize plant diseases. In computer vision, the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) produces good results when solving image classification tasks. For plant disease diagnosis, many deep learning architectures have been applied. This paper introduces a transfer learning based model for detecting tomato leaf diseases. This study proposes a model of DenseNet201 as a transfer learning-based model and CNN classifier. A comparison study between four deep learning models (VGG16, Inception V3, ResNet152V2 and DenseNet201) done in order to determine the best accuracy in using transfer learning in plant disease detection. The used images dataset contains 22930 photos of tomato leaves in 10 different classes, 9 disorders and one healthy class. In our experimental, the results shows that the proposed model achieves the highest training accuracy of 99.84% and validation accuracy of 99.30%.

Over a period of about 12 years a research program on silo structures was going on in Germany, financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. One of the subjects studied was the straining of silo structures in case of dust explosions, which often occur in silo plants. This was done by experiments and theoretical analysis. The first and third authors were engaged in this project. A few years later a very large silo structure was erected, where the third and second authors served as check engineers. A short report is given on the basic results obtained in the research and their application at the large silo plant, where in the meantime a dust explosion has occurred.

This study aimed to understand the new management challenges related to the impact of climate change on biodiversity, deterioration of agricultural productivity, food security, and increasing rates of desertification. This constitutes an important indicator for studying Land Degradation Neutrality (SDGs Target 15.3), which is considered a significant target in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The present study is concerned with assessing and monitoring land management and land degradation in Wadi El Farigh from 2000 to 2019. Soil quality is a major part of the chain that leads to understanding sustainable land management of natural resources (land, groundwater, and natural vegetation). A geopedological approach produced the studied area’s physiographic and soil map. The study of changes in land degradation level in Wadi El Farigh over 20 years with a period of every five years shows a very high improvement in the study area from the year 2000 up to 2014. From 2015 to 2019, this class was reduced due to the effects of land degradation reflected by the use of saline water for irrigating crops. Using remote sensing and geostatistical analyses within the GIS environment illustrated that the soils were classified as Entisols, representing 79.45 of the total studied area, and Aridisols representing 20.55% of the total studied area.

The present review handles the main characteristics of iron oxide reduction and its industrial applications. The reduction of iron oxide is the basis of all ironmaking processes, whether in a blast furnace or by direct reduction and/or direct smelting processes. The reduction characteristics of iron ores control the efficiency of any ironmaking process and the quality of the produced iron as well. Many controlling parameters should be considered when discussing the reducibility of iron ores such as equilibrium phase diagrams, reduction temperature, pressure, gas composition, and the nature of both iron ores and reducing agent. The different factors affecting the main routes of ironmaking will be highlighted in the present review to give a clear picture of each technology. Moreover, further innovations regarding the reduction of iron oxides such as the reduction by green hydrogen will be discussed.

Writing a well-structured scientific documents, such as articles and theses, is vital for comprehending the document's argumentation and understanding its messages. Furthermore, it has an impact on the efficiency and time required for studying the document. Proper document segmentation also yields better results when employing automated Natural Language Processing (NLP) manipulation algorithms, including summarization and other information retrieval and analysis functions. Unfortunately, inexperienced writers, such as young researchers and graduate students, often struggle to produce well-structured professional documents. Their writing frequently exhibits improper segmentations or lacks semantically coherent segments, a phenomenon referred to as "mal-segmentation." Examples of mal-segmentation include improper paragraph or section divisions and unsmooth transitions between sentences and paragraphs. This research addresses the issue of mal-segmentation in scientific writing by introducing an automated method for detecting mal-segmentations, and utilizing Sentence Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (sBERT) as an encoding mechanism. The experimental results section shows a promising results for the detection of mal-segmentation using the sBERT technique.

Nutritional supplements play a role in promoting human protein synthesis, fitness recovery, and mental health protection. Pollen is considered a natural food with excellent nutritional value. The use of bee-gathered pollen as a nutritional supplement is now widespread around the world, and it is appreciated for its healing qualities. However, depending on the floral species and the region of origin, pollen has a wide range of nutritional value. It was found that clover pollen had the highest protein content (31.4 g/100 g DM), while the lowest content was observed in maize pollen (21.3%). Eucalyptus pollen had the highest lipid amount (9.49 g/100 g DM), while clover pollen had the lowest content (7.46 g/100 g). Phytochemical analysis showed that eucalyptus pollen occupied the highest total antioxidant activity (67.02%), followed by clover (58.25%) then maize (52.18%), whereas clover pollen had the highest phenolic content (1165 mg GAE/100 gm), compared with the other pollen varieties (949.4 to 1073 mg-GAE/100 gm). The contents of branched-chain amino acids were 29, 33.3, and 38.4 mg/g for maize, eucalyptus, and clover respectively, representing 17.87, 18.44, and 16.53% of total amino acids. The contents of total essential amino acids (EAAs) were 61.8, 73.0, and 83.5 mg/g for maize, eucalyptus, and clover pollen, respectively. Only eucalyptus pollen ultimately met the minimum requirements of EAAs for adults. In contrast, the other two types of pollen contained at least 3–4 limiting amounts of the essential amino acids leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, and valine. In conclusion, pollen is a good, affordable source of nutrients that can be utilized as beneficial dietary supplements for human health.

Opis:
Fiber’s addition to concrete mixture attracts researchers to determine the effect of fiber type on durability properties of hybrid performance concrete. In the present work, steel and polypropylene fibers are used in hybrid form in the experimental program. The objective of this paper is to investigate the mechanical properties of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete subjected to four various media: air, water, sodium chloride, and magnesium sulphate with a 7% concentration. The results showed that using hybrid fibers which consist of 1% steel fiber and 0.3% polypropylene fiber improved the compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and flexural strength for different media for up to 360 days.
