Opis:
The quantity and quality of spring wheat grain yield is dependent on appropriate cultivation practices, including mineral fertilization. Nutrients can be applied both to soil, on seeds and on leaves. For new cultivars, determination of the optimal doses and timings of fertilization with nitrogen and other mineral elements should be considered as particularly important. A controlled field experiment with the spring wheat cultivar Katoda was carried out in 2013-2015, at the Experimental Station of the University of Rzeszow in south-eastern Poland. The first experimental factor was the fertilization system (soil, seed, foliar or combined seed x foliar system), the second factor was the dose of soil nitrogen applied (80 vs. 120 kg ha-1) and the third factor was the year of cropping (2013, 2014, 2015). The highest grain yield was obtained after the combined application of the seed fertilizer Primus B and foliar Basfoliar 36 Extra. The difference obtained in comparison with the control amounted to 0.87 t ha-1. Increasing the nitrogen dose from 80 to 120 kg ha-1 caused an increase in the SPAD (Soil Plant Analysis Development) index, the number of spikes prior to harvest, TGW (thousand grain weight) and grain yield by 0.5 t ha-1, respectively. Both the foliar fertilizer and a higher nitrogen dose effected an increase in the total protein content in the grain. The highest fibre content was obtained after the use of the seed fertilizer and in the control seeds, and the highest ash content occurred after the use of the foliar fertilizer. An increase in the content of Mg, Fe and Mn in grain was caused by foliar fertilization, while a higher K content resulted from the application of a higher nitrogen dose.

The field experiment was carried out in 2004-2006 in Chlebówko localized 20 km from Stargard Szczeciński and 5 km north-east from Stara Dąbrowa commune - 53°27’N and 15°10’E. The area is elevated 62-72 m above mean se level (ASL). The influence of irrigation, tillage system, and NPK mineral nutrition on weed infestation of faba bean variety ‘Titus’ with determined development rate, was evaluated. The weed infestation degree in the faba bean plantation depended on moisture conditions, fertilization rates, and tillage system. Irrigation increased the number, fresh weight, and dry matter of weeds, respectively by 92%, 130%, and 138%. Likewise, increasing nutrition elevated values of these parameters by 46%, 80%, and 95%. The tillage simplifications enhanced the weed population, particularly on irrigated and fertilized objects. Irrigation, mineral nutrition, and simplified tillage caused compensation of spring, winter and perennial weed species on plantation of faba bean ‘Titus’. Chenopodium album, Stellaria media, and Polygonum convolvulus predominated on studied plots.

Opis:
The aim of the study has been to determine the effect of mineral fertilization and growth regulators on the content of mineral components in plants of two pea cultivars. The research was based on a two-factor pot trial. Two cultivars of pea were gown: cv. Poker (sugar pea with traditional foliage) and cv. Wenus (a general use, narrow-leaf cultivar). The effect of traditional fertilization with single NPK fertilizers was compared to that with multi-component fertilizers: Polifoska 6 and Amofoska 3 (alone or with the growth regulators: auxins IBA and NAA, triacontanol, L-tryptophan, adenine and cyokinin BA). Seeds of sugar pea cultivar Poker contained more phosphorus, potassium and calcium than those of universal cv. Wenus. Higher concentration of potassium in vegetative organs was found in cv. Wenus. Fertilization with Polifoska 6 increased the content of phosphorus in seeds and vegetative organs whereas Amofoska 3 stimulated mainly the accumulation of potassium. The growth stimulators tended to depress the content of phosphorus, potassium and magnesium in seeds but raised their levels in vegetative organs. Cultivar Poker, a traditional pea variety, was characterised by a more desirable distribution of phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium than narrow-leaf cv. Wenus. Mineral fertilization, compared to the control, stimulated more strongly the uptake of phosphorus than that of calcium and consequently lead to the narrowing of the mol calcium to phosphorus ratio. In contrast, the growth regulators improved that ratio owing to the increased transfer of calcium to seeds. Cv. Wenus was characterised by a broader K : (Ca + Mg) ratio in all examined aerial organs than cv. Poker. Mineral fertilization considerably increased these values.

Opis:
Increased fertilization doses stimulate biomass production and raise plants’ demand for nutrients. Biostimulants may improve absorption of nutrients by plants and prevent nutrient deficiency resulting from their lower concentrations in biomass. The aim of this study was to evaluate Mg accumulation in winter oilseed rape at flowering, fruit development and ripening as affected by the application of a seaweed biostimulant, at different doses of NPK tested in two field experiments, with and without S fertilization. The field experiments were set up in Alfisol, on adjacent plots, in Poland (53°13′N. 17°51′E). In the first experiment, S was used in a dose of 36 kg ha-1; in the second experiment there was no S application. In both experiments, different NPK doses were used: high 180 N, 70 P, 132 K (kg ha-1) or low 144 N, 35 P, 66 K (kg ha-1). In addition, the biostimulant Kelpak SL was applied (in doses 2 dm3 ha-1 in autumn + 2 dm3 ha-1 in spring) or there was no biostimulant application. It was found that the response of oilseed rape to the biostimulant and NPK fertilization level, expressed by the amount of dry matter production and Mg accumulation in whole plants, was more favourable in the experiment with the S application prior to sowing the crop. The biostimulant increased the dry matter production while maintaining a similar Mg concentration in plants as compared with the control. Moreover, in S-fertilized oilseed rape, an increase in the Mg accumulation in response to the biostimulant was the highest (22%) at the ripening stage, whereas in the plants not fertilized with sulphur (the second experiment), this increase was significant only at fruit development. In oilseed rape fertilized with S, higher NPK doses caused an increase in the dry matter production and a decrease in the Mg concentration in the aerial parts at the flowering and fruit development stages. At the ripening stage, with a similar response of dry matter, the Mg concentration in plant remained unchanged, hence the Mg accumulation in biomass was by as much as 26% higher than after the application of lower NPK doses.

This paper presents the changes in the magnesium content in soil and plants and in the uptake of this element in yield under the influence of NPKCa fertilization. Eastern galega (Galega orientalis Lam.) was cultivated in 2005-2009. A field experiment was conducted on the experimental plots of the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities. Thirteen levels of fertilization were included in the study: without fertilization, N20, P50, K150, N20P50K150, N20P50, N20K150, P50K150, N20P50K150Ca150, P50K150Ca150, Ca150, N20K150Ca150, N20P50Ca150. Three swaths of the test plants were harvested at budding in each year of the study. The total content of magnesium in soil and in plants was determined with the ICP-AES method on an emission spectrophotometer with inductively-coupled plasma. The applied mineral fertilization with NPKCa did not have any significant impact on the average magnesium content in soil. The highest (significantly) content of magnesium was determined in eastern galega biomass harvested from the plots fertilized with Ca150 as dolomite calcium in all years of the experiment (the mean for the years: 2.91 g kg-1 d.m.). The average content of Mg in the subsequent swaths was as follows (in g kg-1 d.m.): swath I (2.04) < swath II (3.23) > swath III (2.39). The determined content of magnesium in eastern galega in the subsequent years of the experiment ranged between 2.22 g kg-1 d.m. in 2006 and 2.83 g kg-1 d.m. in 2008. The highest uptake of magnesium in eastern galega yield (73.78 kg Mg ha-1) was recorded on a plot fertilized with N20P50Ca150 in 2008.

This investigation provides data from two field trials. During the period 1999-2002 a comparative investigation was carried out to test winter oilseed rape varieties Polo, Marita, Bor, Kana, Gara, Mar and Leo in order to select the most productive one to continue the studies on agronomic factors. During the period 2000-2004 a fertilization trial was initiated with variety Gara to investigate the rates and ratios of macro-fertilization (NPK) in winter oilseed rape under the conditions of Dobroudja region. Sixty combinations were studied as follows: 3 rates of fertilization with potassium (0, 40, and 80 kg × ha –1 K2O), 4 rates of phosphorus fertilization (0, 40, and 120 kg × ha-1 P2O5), and 5 rates of nitrogen fertilization (0, 40, 120 and 160 kg × ha –1 N). During the 5-year period, in two of the years oilseed rape was not harvested. Two risk periods were established which limited the area for growing of oilseed rape in Bulgaria: August-September and the winter period. The sowing period was characterized with a risk of drought in 26.9% of the years, or by intensive rainfalls and formation of soil crust, both factors limiting the formation of a regular spatial pattern of the crop. The successful wintering of oilseed rape can not be ensured because in 34.6% of the years for a period of 52 years, days with air temperature –15°C, or insufficient snow cover, were registered. The comparative testing of the oilseed rape varieties revealed that variety Gara showed the highest productivity and stability by years under the conditions of North-East Bulgaria. The other varieties did not differ by this criterion. The investigation on NPK-fertilization established that averaged for the rates of potassium and phosphorus fertilization, phosphorus was the factor with the highest effect on oilseed yield from rape up to rate N160. The tendency towards significant differences according to the previous investigated rate continued up to rate N80 in dry years, and up to N120 in years with good moisture reserve. During the year with good moisture reserve, a well expressed effect from the independent use of phosphorus and potassium fertilization was established, as well as the interaction between nitrogen and phosphorus, and phosphorus and potassium, which implies the necessity of the obligatory presence of phosphorus in the fertilization rate with moderate doses (P80). As a result from this, fertilization  with N120P80 can be recommended as agronomically optimal under the conditions of Dobroudja region.

Magnetic field may be applied as a physical factor to improve germination capacity as well as growth and development of plants. In order to investigate the influence of stimulation with magnetic field and fertilization on the yield and quality of sugar beet roots, a field experiment was carried out in 2015 and it was designed to examine three cultivars of sugar beets, two variants of magnetic stimulation applied to seeds: stimulation in the magnetic field of 40 mT, and control conditions (no stimulation), as well as two variants of mineral fertilization: optimal, based on the contents of nutrients in soil, and control conditions (no fertilization). Observation of the plants’ growth and development was conducted during the vegetation period. The examined values included yield of roots and leaves, as well as contents of heavy metals, macro- and micro-elements and sugar. The observations carried out during the experiment and following harvest showed that the applied variable factors used in the experiment, i.e. the pre-sowing stimulation with magnetic field as well as properly designed fertilization, positively affect the parameters of the plants germination, growth and development as well as the contents of sugar in the examined sugar beet roots.

The aim of the studies was to determine the effect of fertilization with mineral fertilizers and the digestate from an agricultural biogas plant on selected plant parameters. In 2016 a three-year two-factor field experiment was established, where the first factor was the fertilization variant and the second factor was the plant species (triticale, maize, sorghum). Fertilization was carried out on two dates: pre-sowing and top-dressing. The first variant consisted of nitrogen fertilization, exclusively mineral; in the second variant, plants were fertilized before sowing with di- gestate, and then top-dressed with mineral fertilizer; while in the third variant, in both terms, plants were fertilized with digestate. The quality of biomass was examined in terms of its chemical composition and as a raw material for biogas production. Regard- less of the applied variant of fertilization, the plants tested were equally well supplied with nitrogen. Fertilization with digestate increased the C:N ratio in the biomass of sorghum (which de- viated from the optimal value for effective anaerobic fermenta- tion process), lowered the crude fibre content in the biomass of triticale, but also increased the content of cellulose in triticale. Fertilization with digestate makes it possible to give up mineral nitrogen fertilization, without negative influence on the quality and chemical composition (including crude fibre and lignin frac- tions) of triticale and maize used as biogas substrates.

Opis:
This paper presents results of a study on the molybdenum content in grain of winter wheat and spring barley grown on a permanently fertilized field on loessial soil in the Rzeszow Foothills (Podgórze Rzeszowskie), in Poland. The experiment was set up in randomized sub-blocks, with potato, spring barley, fodder sunflower, and winter wheat plants grown in 4 four-year rotation cycles. Fodder cabbage was grown instead of sunflower in the second crop rotation. The first variable factor was liming (A2) or its lack (A1), while the second one consisted of different doses of mineral fertilization. Mineral NPK nutrition was applied together with constant Mg as well as Mg and Ca fertilization (liming). The general fertilization level (N1 P1 K1) for spring barley was 80 kg N ha-1, 43.6 kg P ha-1 and 99.6 kg K ha-1, while for winter wheat it was 90 kg N ha-1, 34.9 kg P ha-1 and 83 kg K ha-1. Constant magnesium fertilization was applied at a 24.1 kg Mg ha-1 dose. Liming at a dose of 4 t CaO ha-1 was applied before starting the experiment and in each year that completed a subsequent crop rotation cycle. There was a significant increase in the molybdenum concentration in grain of winter wheat and spring barley due to the liming applied. A moderate molybdenum content was found in winter wheat grain on non-limed soil 0.278 mg kg-1 DM and on limed soil 0.320 mg kg-1 DM; while in spring barley grain on non-limed soil, it equalled 0.291 mg kg-1 DM and on limed soil 0.455 mg kg-1 DM. Mineral fertilization increased the content of this component in wheat grain and usually or most often reduced its amount in barley grain. The interaction of liming with mineral fertilization did not have any significant effect on the molybdenum content of winter wheat grain and resulted in an increase in the molybdenum content in spring barley grain.

Opis:
The research focused on determining the effect of water extracts of soil fertilized with mineral fertilizers: NPK, NPK + S(ammonium sulphate), NPK + S(Potafoska) on the linear growth and biomass of Rhizoctonia solani under conditions in vitro. The research has shown that R. solani fungus is very sensitive to the presence in the medium of water extracts of soils fertilized with mineral fertilizers. It has been reflected both by linear growth ratę coefficients, inhibition of linear growth and biomass increments. Ali investigated extracts and their concentrations significantly afifected the dynamics of R. solani growth. The strongest inhibitory eflfect on the R. solani hyphae linear growth was observed in the presence of the water extract of the soil fertilized with NPK + S(Potafoska). On the other hand, when 50 mm3/cm3 of the extract of the soil fertilized with NPK and 25 mm3/cm3 of the extract of the NPK + S(ammonram sulphate) treated soil was added, the tested fungus responded by strong inhibition of biomass increment, respectively by 55.71 and 57.07 %. The experiments conducted in vitro may suggest that supplying mineral NPK and other fertilizers, such as ammonium phosphate or Potafoska to the soil may limit the population of R. solani pathogenic filngi. However, in agrocenoses one should also consider the complicated interrelations between individual elements of the environment.
Badania dotyczyły określenia wpływu wodnych wyciągów z gleb nawożonych nawozami mineralnymi: NPK, NPK + siarczan amonu, NPK + Potafoska na rozrost liniowy i biomasę Rhizoctonia solani w warunkach in vitro.
