Opis:
This work presents the evaluation of wear resistance of milling cutters. The subjects of this chapter were the milling tools commonly used in dental laboratory. Based on the results it was found, that the milling cutter during the cutting operation can easily become the destruction, resulting in the mass loss and in the first 10 hours of milling cutters work with high efficiency. It is suggested that after 10 hours of milling work, in order to ensure high standards of materials processing, milling cutters should be replaced by new one.

The aim of this publication is to determine the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) indicator for 5 axes milling machine found at Diehl Aircabin Hungary Ltd. for the present and future state. Based on this value, the utilization of the machine for the given production amount can be calculated. With the optimal choice of the right production parameters (the number of cuts, feeding, depth of cut, etc.) greater productivity can be achieved i.e. the machine main time (time of cutting) will be less. The possibilities of the reduction of the machine time will be analysed and calculated. Setting of the appropriate technological parameters the machine main time could be decreased. The calculation of the machine main time will be determined for the most frequent manufacturing technologies.

Opis:
This work is an experimental study of thermo-mechanical surface hardening of mild steel with trace elements like titanium in negligible concentrations. This is somewhat an advanced technique used to harden steel surface which can be hardened in many typical ways. The concept is combining the thermal as well as mechanical technique to attain better results. It is quite obvious that mechanical refers to the compressive loading during machining and thermal refers to producing heat on the surface of work piece. The ideal conditions are when the heat produced is enough to achieve austenite and then subsequent quick cooling helps in the formation of marten site, which is metallurgically the most highly strong phase of steel, in terms of hardness. The coolant used preferably is the emulsified oil which flows on the surface during machining with variable rate of flow as the optimum effect is. This process hardens the surface of steel and increases its resistance against wear and abrasion. Preference is to achieve surface hardening using the conventional equipment so that operational cost is kept low and better results are attained. This technique has been quite successful in the laboratory. It can be termed as friction hardening. Some improvements in the process scheme and working environment can be made to get better results.

Opis:
Bi-rotary milling head is the primary component of multiple-axis machine tool toward the multiply machining operation. The machining performance is greatly related to the structure characteristics and positioning precisions of the swivel head. This study was aimed at developing a bi-rotary milling head module, which is composed of a direct drive motor, cross roller bearings and motorized spindle unit. In order to evaluate the machining stability at the design phase, the dynamic characteristics of the rotary milling were first analyzed with finite element method. Especially, the variations of the dynamic characteristics of the spindle tool with the changing of the titling configuration of swivel axis were examined. In order to consider the accurate presentation of a spindle tool system and swivel mechanism, the bearings in the rolling components were also included in the finite element model and simulated with surface contact elements with adequate contact stiffness. The dynamic frequency response function of the spindle tool at different swinging positions were predicted for comparisons, which were further used to calculate the machining stability based on the machining mechanics. The current results show that the feeding direction and swinging positions of rotary milling head have a significant influence on the dynamic characteristics and machining ability of the spindle tool. The variations of the cutting depth with the swinging of A axis fall in the range of 11% to 40%, depending on the feeding direction and swinging angle. The analysis results are expected to clearly demonstrate the variation of the machining performance of the spindle tool under different milling configurations. The devised model and modeling approach can be applied to develop a five axis milling machine with desired dynamic and machining performance.

The sealing of shaft cast iron tubing within a tubing Inter-rib niche is often needed during overhauls and repairs of a shaft lining. Leakages or scratches and fractures can occur within the area of individual tubing of the shaft lining. The Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Szybów S.A. developed special method for the sealing in question. Around the sealed area, a closed circumference groove of a depth smaller than the tubing thickness is made in the inner shaft lining. The sealing element is placed in this groove and then tightened with a spatial insert, with a hole for the injection of the sealing medium. A specially designed milling machine is used for groove making in the tubing lining of the mine shaft. The milling machine is composed of: power transmission system, special construction for mounting the milling machine to tubing and advance mechanism. The milling machine is driven by a battery drill-driver, and the whole device is mounted to the tubing with the use of specially designed guides with handles.

The article deals with the stress-strain state of the cutters used in the mills of a new design for the restoration of the working surfaces of locomotive wheels. A comparative analysis of stresses in the cutters was carried out using the finite element method, which showed a significant advantage of the new technical solution, the novelty of which is confirmed by the patent.

The paper contains the description of basic technological setups for conventional milling machines and for 6-axes CNC machines for Gleason spiral bevel and hypoid gears. Cartesian reference system are discussed for Gleason's series Phoenix CNC machines. Numerically controlled machines allow cut and grind the generated and formate spiral and hypoid bevel gears in all technological methods.
W opracowaniu przedstawiono podstawowe nastawy technologiczne frezarek konwencjonalnych oraz 6-osiowych obrabiarek CNC stosowanych do obróbki kół zębatych stożkowych i hipoidalnych kołowo-łukowych według metody Gleasona. Podstawą opracowania nastaw jest kinematyka obrabiarek CNC firmy Gleason serii Phoenix. Wykazano, że obrabiarki sterowane numerycznie pozwalają na skrawanie i szlifowanie generowanych numerycznie i kształtowanych kół stożkowych i hipoidalnych o kołowo-łukowej linii zęba przy użyciu wszystkich metod technologicznych obróbki.
