Opis:
We consider a logistic planning problem for simultaneous optimization of the storage and the delivery. This problem arises in the consolidate shipment using an intermediate storage in a supply chain, which is typically found in the automobile industry. The vehicles deliver the items from the origin to the destination, while the items can be stored at some warehousing facilities as the intermediate storage during the delivery. The delivery plan is made for each day separately, but the storage at a warehouse may last for more than one day. Therefore, the entire logistic plan should be considered over a certain period for the total optimization. We formulate the storage and delivery problem as a mixed integer programming. Then, we propose a relax-and-fix type heuristic method, which incrementally fixes decision variables until all the variables are fixed to obtain a complete solution. Moreover, a semiapproximate model is introduced to effectively fix the variables. Based on the formulation, the delivery plan can be solved for each day separately. This has the advantage especially in the dynamic situation, where the delivery request is modified from the original request before the actual delivery day. Numerical experiments show that the simultaneous optimization gives the effective storage plan to reduce the total logistic cost, and the proposed heuristics efficiently reduce the computational time and are robust against the dynamic situation.

Opis:
Background and objectives: This study describes the treatment planning and dose delivery methods of radiotherapy for patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation. The analysis was carried out in the context of the evolution of these methods over the last 60 years. Materials and methods: A systematic literature search was carried out using the PubMed search engine. Overall, 90 relevant studies were included: 24 general studies, 10 describing isotopes usage, 24 related to conventional and 32 to advanced methods. Results: The analysis of the evolution of radiotherapy methods shows how signifi cantly the precision of dose planning methods and its delivery have changed. The atypical positioning caused by geometrical requirements for applications of isotopes or conventional techniques has been replaced by positioning on a therapeutic couch, which allows a more precise setup of the patient that is necessary for an exact delivery of the planned dose. The dose can be fully optimized and calculated on tomographic images by algorithms implemented in planning systems. Optimization process allows to reduce doses in organs at risk. The accuracy between planned and delivered doses can be checked by pretreatment verifi cation methods, and the patient positioning can be checked by image guidance procedures. Interpretation and conclusions: Current radiotherapy solutions allow a precise delivery of doses to the planning target volume while reducing doses to organs at risk. Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that establishing radiotherapy as an important element of the whole therapeutic regimen resulted from the follow-up of patients treated by conventional techniques. To confi rm the clinical value of new advanced techniques, clinical trials are required.

Opis:
Roads and parking areas represent a place of conflict between freight vehicles and other urban activities, especially on mixed residential and commercial streets. This conflict results in traffic congestion, illegal parking, pollution and road safety problems. The challenge is to allocate public space between the right operating activities, parking activities, public transport and so on. To address that, urban logistics delivery bays, also known as loading/unloading (L/U) zones, have become a real solution to facilitate the delivery and pick-up operations of urban freight vehicles, ensure accessibility for delivery drivers, reduce congestion and improve road safety. Therefore, this paper reports on planning and enforcement of urban delivery bays needs. It is part of the urban freight transport (UFT) surveys. This involves consolidating with new contribution the development, implementation and statistical analysis of a survey in order to quantify the need of delivery areas. Compared to the existing literature, this paper presents a mixed applied methodology which is divided into two parts : “Exploratory survey” and “Establishment vehicle observation” survey. These two surveys techniques were conducted to offer an overview of the freight vehicle delivery and pick-up frequency according to the daytime and weekdays and the operations related to the loading/unloading activities. This makes it possible to estimate the delivery bays requirement in the study area. The findings from a methodological and practical angle are illustrated through a real case study in a commercial street in Morocco. The findings suggest that 60% of deliveries are made between 8:00 A.M and 12 A.M, and the movements generated by each establishment are 257 movements. For this, the study zone requires the development of three loading/unloading (L/U) bays. The main contribution is to propose an approach that urban authorities can use to estimate urban delivery areas efficiently and thus allow simple replication of the proposed framework in other cities.

Opis:
In the calculations presented in the article, an artificial immune system (AIS) was used to plan the routes of the fleet of delivery vehicles supplying food products to customers waiting for the delivery within a specified, short time, in such a manner so as to avoid delays and minimize the number of delivery vehicles. This type of task is classified as an open vehicle routing problem with time windows (OVRPWT). It comes down to the task of a traveling salesman, which belongs to NP-hard problems. The use of the AIS to solve this problem proved effective. The paper compares the results of AIS with two other varieties of artificial intelligence: genetic algorithms (GA) and simulated annealing (SA). The presented methods are controlled by sets of parameters, which were adjusted using the Taguchi method. Finally, the results were compared, which allowed for the evaluation of all these methods. The results obtained using AIS proved to be the best.

Opis:
The article presents the mathematical model of production control in the Just-in-time delivery system’s conditions for a planning fixed horizon. The aim of the control model is to determine the demand for means of production (materials, labour force) at the right moment of time. The stochastic model of appearing the fault products was taking into account. Minimization both the costs of manufacturing and possible penalties connected with the incomplete execution of the order was taken as a criterion of optimization process.
W pracy przedstawiono matematyczny model sterowania produkcją w warunkach dostaw w systemie Just-in-time, w określonym horyzoncie czasowym.
