    This summary contains information about Kazimierz Kotlinski, a very famous person, who lives in Pulawy. Particularly described here his great war, artistic and literary achievements. This was done based on extracts from books, opinion about his career, own reflection on his painting. To achieve the above aim, applied a series of images painted by this artist. The main method used here is a description. This review article was made in order to show Kazimierz Kotlinski’s achievements and artistic talent, which is compared to artistic talent of Leonardo da Vinci.

    This research presents the results of the cartometric analysis of two Leonardo da Vinci’s works, i.e. the Mapa mundi and A map of Imola. The analysis of the Mapa mundi was conducted by employing various distortion measures and creating maps to show their distribution by distortion isograms. A map of Imola was analysed utilising MapAnalyst, taking advantage of the software’s tools, such as distortion grids, isolines of scale and local map rotation angles.

    Paper presents assumptions, goals and results of the Leonardo da Vinci (LdV) projects: CLOEMC, SHANIME and MBAIC. The main task of the projects was to deepen and improve European Directive's ideas, which lead to creation of proper European system of comparison, certification and mutual recognition of managerial qualifications in construction, as well as increasing of learning quality by creation of the innovative training tools (for example animations for health and safety learning and postgraduate studies with the use of blended learning method).
    W referacie przedstawiono założenia, cele i rezultaty projektów Leonardo da Vinci (LdV): CLOEMC, SHANIME i MBAIC. Głównym zadaniem projektów jest wprowadzenie w życie zapisów Europejskiej Dyrektywy, co prowadzi do powstania europejskiego systemu certyfikacji i wzajemnego uznawania kwalifikacji menedżerskich w budownictwie, jak również zwiększenia jakości nauczania poprzez stworzenie innowacyjnych narzędzi szkoleniowych (na przykład animacje do szkolenia w zakresie bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy oraz studiów podyplomowych metodą blended learning).

    Introduction: Patients before 50 years of age with HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer are characterized by significantly better survival than HPV-negative patients. The consequences of oncological treatment directly affect physiological function of the organs of the upper respiratory tract and, in consequence, the quality of life of these individuals. Therefore, the choice of therapy is of great importance. Minimally invasive surgery offers radical oncological treatment, while preserving the quality of life. The principal surgical methods are transoral access using TLM, electrosurgery and TORS. Radiochemotherapy as primary treatment is equally effective in the first and second stages of clinical advancement of cancer. However, occurrence of late complications such as swallowing, breathing, taste and smell disorders led to a recent re-emergence of minimally invasive surgery, particularly transoral robotic surgery, which has been widely used in head and neck surgery in the United States of America, Asia and Western European countries for more than 20 years. After many years, Poland joined the community of countries where the head and neck interventions are performed using the da Vinci Surgical System. Objective: The purpose of the work is to present our own experience with the TORS at the Department of the Head and Neck Surgery and Laryngological Oncology of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences and to analyze the latest literature reports on the use of TORS in the treatment of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

    CELGAS - an acronym for "Conventional & e-Learning Gas Engineering Centre" is a Leonardo da Vinci Vocational Training Action Programme unfolded by several education institutions and research centres from Poland, Germany, Romania and Slovakia, under the coordination of the University of Mining and Metallurgy of Cracow, between December 2005 and December 2007. The programme's objectives are aligned to the cooperation between the European Union and Central and Eastern European universities and research companies, as well as to the vocational training area involved in the domain of natural gases. The primary objective of this programme is to create a network capable of providing education and training to engineers from the gas industry so as to encourage ongoing adaptation of skills to meet the needs of workers and companies, contribute to reducing unemployment and facilitate personal development.
    CELGAS (Conventional and e-Learning Gas Engineering Ccntre) to program specjalistyczny w ramach większego Programu Leonardo da Vinci, realizowany przez szereg instytucji naukowych z Polski, Niemiec, Rumunii i Słowacji. Był on koordynowany przez Akademię Górniczo-Hutniczą w Krakowie w okresie od grudnia 2005 do grudnia 2007. Cele programu są zgodne z zasadami współpracy ośrodków naukowych i badawczych krajów Unii Europejskiej oraz ośrodków w Europie Środkowej i Wschodniej i dotyczą specjalistycznych zagadnień w zakresie gazu ziemnego. Podstawowym celem programu jest stworzenie sieci edukacyjnej dla inżynierów z przemysłu gazowniczego, która zachęci ich do zaadaptowania nabytych umiejętności i metod do pracy w macierzystych firmach oraz do rozwoju własnych umiejętności zawodowych.

    This paper presents an analysis of the natural frequency and mode shapes of the arm and the working tip of the da Vinci robot, which is used in various types of surgical procedures. The survey was conducted using Autodesk Fusion 360. Using the da Vinci robot's construction data, a model was designed taking into account the characteristic dimensions and materials used. The obtained shapes of vibrations for natural frequencies allowed us to predict the influence of resonance phenomenon on the manipulator's arm. The movement of the tool along the wrong track, caused by an increase in vibration amplitude, may adversely affect the operation of the device. The results of the conducted research, therefore, provide information for which natural frequencies the values of these amplitudes increase.

    Through different Leonardo da Vinci projects in the period 2005-2010 new pedagogical principles for organizing and delivering more cost- and time-efficient blended learning and training has been developed. This model may lead to new synergies for effective and pedagogical inclusion of state of the art high quality real-time visual collaboration tools into current training principles with a combination with Learning Design Tools such as LAMS. The basis for this framework has been a new pedagogical methodology for the training of the students themselves, named Activity Based Training (ABT). It was found that by using LAMS as a design tool, the teacher has to reflect on the activities introduced to the students in a structured and logical manner. In this way the structural facilities in LAMS fits the structure needed in the ABT methodology. Mechanical industries utilize traditional training methodologies by separating theoretical learning and training from practical training of skills. In such a pedagogical framework hands-on practice comes after the theoretical content descriptions. Activity Based Training (ABT) is closely connected to practical production activities. The training follows the same steps or phases as the industry follows when producing a product. It is then structured logically by giving the students a set of job orders which is broken down into job packages. However, drawing on previous experience based on the framework developed, new ideas will now be exploited and tested in a new set of course developments and frameworks for courses during 2009 – 2010.

    Opis:
    On the 8th of July 2018 died Janusz Wałek, art historian, museologist, pedagogue, born in 1941 in Bobowa. He graduated from the Jagiellonian University, the history of art faculty. In 1968, he started working in the Czartoryskis’ Museum – Branch of the National Museum in Krakow, where some time after he became a head of the European Painting Department for many years. He was a lecturer at the Fine Arts Academy, the National Academy of Theatre Arts and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He wrote two books and numerous articles about art. He was also a poet, the winner of the Main Prize in the 1997 edition of the General Polish Poetry Competition. He was a student of Marek Rostworowski, they worked together on a number of publicly acclaimed exhibitions: “Romanticism and Romanticity in Polish Art of the 19th and 20th centuries”, “The Poles’ Own Portrait”, “Jews – Polish”. Many exhibitions and artistic shows were prepared by him alone, inter alia “The Vast Theatre of Stanisław Wyspiański”, presentations of artworks by great artists: Goya, Rafael, Titian, El Greco. He also created a few scenarios of permanent exhibitions from the Czartoryskis’ Collection – in Krakow and in Niepołomice – being a great expert on this collection. “Europeum” – European Culture Centre was organised according to the programme written by him. He specialised mostly, although not exclusively, in art and culture of the Renaissance. Janusz Wałek is presented herein as a museologist who was fully devoted to art, characterised by: creativity, broad perception of art and culture, unconventional approach to museum undertakings, unusual sensitivity and imagination. What the author of the article found worth emphasising is that J. Wałek talked and wrote about art not only as a scholar, but first of all as a poet, with beauty and zest of the language he used.
    8 lipca 2018 r. zmarł Janusz Wałek, historyk sztuki, muzealnik, pedagog, urodzony w 1941 r.w Bobowej. Ukończył historię sztuki na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim. Od 1968 r. pracował w Muzeum Czartoryskich – Oddziale Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie, gdzie z czasem został wieloletnim kierownikiem Działu Malarstwa Europejskiego. Był wykładowcą w ASP, w PWST i na UJ w Krakowie. Jest autorem licznych tekstów o sztuce oraz dwóch książek. Był też poetą, zdobywcą w 1997 r. Głównej Nagrody w Ogólnopolskim Konkursie Poetyckim. Był uczniem Marka Rostworowskiego, współpracował z nim przy słynnych wystawach: „Romantyzm i Romantyczność w sztuce polskiej XIX i XX wieku”, „Polaków portret własny”, „Żydzi – Polscy”. Sam był autorem wielu ekspozycji i pokazów artystycznych, m.in. „Stanisława Wyspiańskiego teatr ogromny”, pokazów dzieł wielkich artystów: Goi, Rafaela i Tycjana oraz El Greca. Był też twórcą kilku scenariuszy wystaw stałych ze zbiorów Czartoryskich – w Krakowie i w Niepołomicach – jako wielki znawca tej kolekcji. Opracował scenariusz i program „Ośrodka kultury europejskiej. Europeum”. Był znawcą przede wszystkim, choć nie tylko, sztuki i kultury renesansu. Autorka przedstawia Janusza Wałka jako muzealnika bez reszty oddanego sztuce, uwypuklając cechy go charakteryzujące: kreatywność, szerokość postrzegania spraw sztuki i kultury, nietypowe i niekonwencjonalne podchodzenie do muzealnych zadań, wielką wrażliwość i wyobraźnię. Podkreśla też, że J. Wałek mówił i pisał o sztuce nie tylko ze znawstwem ale i ze swadą, a przede wszystkim pięknie, jak poeta.
