Opis:
The article contains a comparative analysis of two methods of calculating angles in the shoulder joint of the right upper limb. For the purposes of this study, a marker -vector method was developed that calculates angles based on retroreflective 3D marker’s positions and vectors created on the basis of their positions. Movements from two types of sports (sword fighting and tennis forehand) were analysed. These movem ents were recorded using an optical motion capture system. The obtained results were compared with the values read from the Plug -in Gait biomechanical model from C3D files. The results show that the proposed method is more universal and can be used indepen dently. In addition, the Plug -in Gait model is not adequate for the analysis of the acquired shoulder angles of tennis players.

Opis:
The paper presents the study results obtained on 16H12MF/NC11LV/D2 tool steel. The main purpose of the study was to establish the chemical composition of the coarse primary M7C3 carbides occurring in that steel after a standard soft annealing. The effect of high-temperature annealing in the air atmosphere was investigated. The study was limited to the decarburized layer, on the distance of about 0.4 mm from the surface, of hardened steel after annealing and austenitizing at 1150 ºC in the air atmosphere for the periods of 30 and 90 minutes. It was found that the coarse primary M7C3 carbides of the annealed D2 tool steel differ significantly as to the contents of Cr, Mo, and V, and in the most degree to the contents of chromium and molybdenum. The average concentration of chromium rises successively with the growth of austenitizing time. On the other hand, the concentrations of molybdenum and vanadium are lower after 30 minutes of austenitizing than their concentrations in the similar carbides of the annealed steel. Prolongation of the austenitizing time up to 90 minutes results in the increase of molybdenum and vanadium contents in the coarse carbides. It was found that austenitizing of AISI D2 tool steel at the temperature of 1150 ºC in the air atmosphere leads to precipitation of the second phase, brighter in the BSE_Z pictures, in relation to the matrix of carbides, with the amount and magnitude being higher with the annealing time.

This article presents the possibilities of using computer scanning to design a location for a sewage treatment plan taking into account its impact on the landscape. The activities undertaken could constitute a part of the proceedings carried out in performing environmental impact assessments. Completion of the goal requires literary studies and the analysis of interdisciplinary studies, including planning, land and academic research. The research has been divided into several parts, of which the first one concerns, among other things, the analysis of the value of the natural environment in a given area and analysis of the planning documents in place. The land research consists of scanning the area for the sewage treatment plant using the 3D method. The collected data will constitute the basis for the possibility of using computer scanning to visualise the development in an area of high landscape value.

Within this work we present a first experimental setup of a high-resolution real-timecapable 3D sonar camera system for deep sea operation. Since we are currently in the development process, the focus of this work is on the transmission aspects of the camera. Following publications will include the receiving aspects as well as the first phantom reconstructions. The system consists of a 1024 element matrix array antenna, together with a 128 channel beamforming system including a 1:8 multiplexing device for each channel. The camera is supposed to deliver volumetric images within a range of up to 15 m in a deep sea environment up to 6000 m depth. The antenna provides the advantage of an adjustable defocused transmitting sound field. This allows dynamic control of the field of view, and an increase of the image contrast for a specific region.

Opis:
Theoretical 3D models were digitally reconstructed from a phragmocone section of Baculites compressus in order to investigate the hydrostatic properties of the orthoconic morphotype. These virtual models all had the capacity for neutral buoyancy (or nearly so) and were highly stable with vertical syn vivo orientations. Body chamber lengths exceeding approximately 40% of the shell length cause buoyancy to become negative with the given modeled proportions. The distribution of cameral liquid within the phragmocone does not change orientation and only slightly influences hydrostatic stability. The mass of cameral liquid required to completely reduce stability, permitting a non-vertical static orientation, would cause the living cephalopod to become negatively buoyant. A concave dorsum does not significantly change the mass distribution and results in a 5° dorsal rotation of the aperture from vertical. The restoring moments acting to return neutrally buoyant objects to their equilibrium position were investigated using 3D-printed models of Nautilus pompilius and Baculites compressus with theoretically equal masses and hydrostatic stabilities to their virtual counterparts. The N. pompilius behaved as an underdamped harmonic oscillator during restoration due to its low hydrostatic stability and drag relative to the B. compressus model. In contrast, the B. compressus model more quickly returns to its equilibrium position without oscillating (overdamped system). The thrust required to overcome such a large restoring moment was explored using several extant cephalopod analogues. Significant angles of displacement were only achieved with coleoid-like thrusts, which were unrealistically high despite the probable similarities in their locomotor design. These maximum bursts of thrust may have been too energetically expensive and would preclude an unusual form of locomotion in a non-vertical orientation. These results suggest baculitids and other orthocones with similar hydrostatic stabilities probably lived a nektic to quasiplanktic mode of life with a primarily vertical orientation and mobility.

Opis:
A successful approach widely used in materials science to adapt approved materials to specific applications is to design their surface properties. A main challenge in this area is the development of processing routes enabling for a simple but efficient surface design of complex shaped geometries. Against this background, this work aimed at the implementation of self-assembly principles for surface functionalization of 3D-printed poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)-based constructs with macro- and microporous geometries via precision extruding deposition. Methods: Three-component melts from PLGA, CaCO3 and amphiphilic polymers (poly(2-oxazoline) block copolymer) were printed and their bulk and surface properties were studied. Results: Melts with up to 30 mass % of CaCO3 could be successfully printed with homogeneously distributed mineral particles. PLGA degradation during the printing process was temperature and time dependent: the molecular weight reached 10 to 15% of the initial values after ca. 120 min of heat exposure. Filament surfaces from melts containing CaCO3 show an increasing microroughness along with increasing CaCO3 content. Surface roughness and amphiphilic polymer content improve scaffold wettability with both factors showing synergistic effects. The CaCO3 content of the melts affected the inner filament structure during in vitro degradation in PBS, resulting in a homogeneous mineral particle-associated microporosity for mineral contents of 20 mass % and above. Conclusions: These results provide novel insights into the behavior of three-component melts from PLGA, CaCO3 and amphiphilic polymers during precision extruding deposition and show for the first time that self-assembly processes can be used to tailor scaffolds surface properties under such processing conditions.

An NMR study of polycrystalline Pr$\text{}_{0.5}$Ca$\text{}_{0.5}$Mn$\text{}_{1-x}$Ga$\text{}_{x}$O$\text{}_{3}$ (x=0 and 0.03) at 3 K is presented. Zero field spin-echo spectra of the Ga doped compound consist of an overlapping $\text{}^{69,71}$Ga signal at 74~MHz (hyperfine field of 5.3 T), a $\text{}^{55}$Mn double exchange line at 375 MHz (35.5 T) and a weak Mn$\text{}^{3+}$ signal between 400 and 550 MHz. Measurements in an applied field show a step-like increase in the double exchange line intensity, which corresponds to an increase in the amount of the ferromagnetic metallic phase. This coincides with a step-like feature in the bulk magnetization measurements. The effect is similar to that in the previous field dependent $\text{}^{55}$Mn NMR measurements of Pr$\text{}_{0.67}$Ca $\text{}_{0.33}$MnO$\text{}_{3}$. At the demagnetized and remanent state, a variation of spin- spin relaxation time, T$\text{}_{2}$, across the $\text{}^{55}$Mn line, due to the Suhl-Nakamura interaction is observed, which suggests that the ferromagnetic metallic double exchange regions, at liquid helium temperatures, are at least 4 nm in size.

For a 3-body Domen-type absorbed-dose graphite calorimeter a refined ordinary differential equation model is developed taking into account the heat loss through radiation from the surface of all three bodies. The new reduced heat transfer coefficients, $K_{i}$*, i = 1, 2, 3 were defined and the associated calculated heat loss correction factors $F_{C}$* and $F_{C+J}$* were determined. The total energy lost by radiation from the core surface was evaluated for both heating and post heating periods as being 31.35% from the total core heat loss (and up to 1.1% from the total energy delivered to the core during the heating time). A new correction factor for heat loss through radiation from the calorimeter bodies' surfaces was introduced and calculated as being $k_{SB}$ ≈ 0.9996.

The observed magnetic susceptibility χ$\text{}^{obs}$(T) data of Ami et al. for the linear-chain cuprate Sr$\text{}_{2}$CuO$\text{}_{3}$ are re-analyzed in terms of recent theory of Eggert et al. for the spin susceptibility χ(T) of the spin S=1/2 linear-chain Heisenberg antiferromagnet, which yielded the Cu-Cu exchange constant J/k$\text{}_{B}$=2150 K. Values for J', the exchange constant in the rungs, and J, that in the legs, were estimated for the S=1/2 two-leg ladder compound SrCu$\text{}_{2}$O$\text{}_{3}$, using the χ(T) data of Azuma et al. The analyses suggest that J'/J ≈ 0.5, contrary to the expectation that J'/J ≈ 1, and that J/k$\text{}_{B}$ is very large ( ≈ 2000 K), similar to that in Sr$\text{}_{2}$CuO$\text{}_{3}$.

The paper presents the results of tribological tests for sample models made by FDM technology. The ringshaped samples were made of the ABS P430 material using the Dimension 1200es machine. Disc-shaped counter-samples were made of C45 steel. The analysed technological parameter of the process of building sample models was the “printing” direction (between the friction surface of the sample and the building platform), determined at three degrees of variability (0°, 45°, and 90°). Using the T-15 tribological tester of the ring-on- disc type, a study was carried out to determine the effect of printing direction on the friction force and the total friction wear. In addition, metrological measurements of the tested surfaces were carried out.
Przedstawiono wyniki badań tribologicznych modeli próbek wykonanych w technologii FDM osadzania topionego materiału. Próbki w kształcie pierścieni wykonane zostały z materiału ABS P430 przy wykorzystaniu maszyny Dimension 1200es. Przeciwpróbki wykonane zostały ze stali C45 w kształcie tarczy. Analizowanym parametrem technologicznym procesu budowy modeli próbek był kierunek „wydruku” (pomiędzy płaszczyzną tarcia próbki a platformą budowania), ustalony na trzech stopniach zmienności (0°, 45° i 90°). Wykorzystując tester tribologiczny T-15 typu pierścień–tarcza, przeprowadzono badania polegające na wyznaczeniu wpływu kierunku rozmieszczenia modeli na platformie budowania na wartość siły tarcia oraz sumaryczne zużycie pary ciernej. Ponadto przeprowadzone zostały pomiary metrologiczne badanych powierzchni.
