Opis:
The rheological properties of sealing slurries are very important when designing and executing cementing jobs and reinforcing ground and rock mass with the use of drilling technology. In order to ensure a high level of efficiency, the applied sealing slurries should meet several requirements. One of the most important criteria is pumpability. The rheological model and the rheological parameters of the sealing slurries should be properly selected to ensure efficient pumping. On this basis the flow resistance of the slurry in the circulation system can be calculated. The paper presents the results of laboratory experiments on the influence of some liquefiers on the formation of rheological properties of cement slurries used for sealing and strengthening rock mass, and for cementing jobs.

Opis:
In present times, constructions of micro air vehicles arouse more and more interest researchers and manufacturers. Air turbulence is perceived as a major problem for Micro Air Vehicles (MAV) in outdoor applications. According to the literature, short duration vertical gusts may have velocity comparable to MAV airspeed, so brief periods of flight at very large angles of attack have to be considered. In these circumstances, it seems reasonable to apply the design with as high stall angle of attack as possible. In particular, the flow has to be attached to control surfaces to perform effective control in order to damp air turbulence effect. Therefore, an aircraft configuration was developed with cranked delta wing and propeller located inside the wing contour. To prove the value of the concept, wind tunnel experiment was undertaken. The prototype demonstrated ability to fly controllably at extremely high angles of attack. Moreover we present few disadvantages of these construction for example it was very sensitive to the motor settings, since every rpm change required immediate airplane trimming to maintain straight path of flight. This drawback can be eliminated by application of counter-rotating propeller. The status of the program is presented in the paper, including the most recent results, as well as currently undertaken experiments and plans for the nearest future.

Opis:
More and more attention is paid nowadays to the quality and durability of the applied cement slurries. Apart from the appropriate rheological, technological and strength parameters, the slurry should be resistant to the strongly mineralized reservoir waters. Appropriate phase composition of cement slurries, especially high CSH content is responsible for the change of pore structure in the cement slurry; the number of fine gel pores which are not available for the fluid increases and the number of capillary pores responsible for the transport of corrosive factors inside the cement slurry decreases. The use of nanosilica as an additive improving the properties of cement slurries has recently gained popularity. Bearing in mind these properties of nSiO2, there were conducted laboratory experiments on the use of organic nanosilica for cement slurries based on Portland cement CEM I 52.5 R.

Opis:
This paper contains results of experimental tests of the influence of passive ballistic protection on aerodynamic coefficients of the model fuselage of the Sokol helicopter. The research was carried out in the Institute of Aviation low speed wind tunnel T3 of 5 m diameter on the helicopter test stand. Measurements of aerodynamic coefficients acting on the fuselage with and without passive ballistic protection were taken using six–component internal strain gauge balance placed inside the model of the fuselage for the angles of attack α = –90-90° with step 10° and for sideslip angles β = –10°, 0°, 10°. Several aerodynamics coefficients: drag (Cx), force (Cy), lift (Cz) and moment: bank (Cmx), pitch (Cmy) and yaw (Cmz) were analysed. The results of the wind tunnel tests were presented in figures as non-dimensional mean values of the above aerodynamic coefficients. Different measurements of aerodynamic characteristics were made like: the influence of Reynolds number on the Cx of the helicopter fuselage with and without protection and the comparison of aerodynamic characteristics of the helicopter fuselage Cx, Cy, Cz, Cmx, Cmy, Cmz as the function of α, without stabiliser, with and without protection. Moreover, a comparison Cx, Cy, Cz, Cmx, Cmy, Cmz as the function of α, with a stabiliser, with and without protection was made and a comparison of the influence of a stabiliser and protection on the above aerodynamic characteristics for the range of useful angles of attack were analysed. A comparison of the influence of a stabiliser and protection on aerodynamic characteristics of the helicopter fuselage Cx, Cy, Cz, Cmx, Cmy, Cmz for the range of α angles of attack was also described.

The article presents and compares the results of exhaust emission tests in conditions of real vehicle traffic with the results obtained during bench tests on a chassis dynamometer in conditions of road traffic simulation. A series of tests were carried out using a mobile exhaust analyzer and a vehicle speed recorder. The research route was designated in the center of a large urban agglomeration. Laboratory tests were designed according to an algorithm approximating the actual driving sections, and when choosing their order during the test construction, a random factor was introduced. The presented approach reflects the random nature of road traffic while ensuring the representativeness of toxic emissions from the vehicle's exhaust system. The results of measurements of carbon dioxide emission, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons registered in road and stationary, laboratory emissin tests were compared. Substantial agreement was found between the tests. Difficulties and differences in results due to research problems have also been described.

'Faster, deeper, cheaper' -it is not just a slogan, it is a motto of every oil company. The first application of rotary--percussion drilling method in drilling oil wells took place in early 60's of the XX century in the United States. Unfortunately, in Poland did not apply. First of all, the main advantage is the inereased rate of penetration, in comparison with standard rotary drilling, and consequently - lower wellbore costs. The purpose of present paper is to discuss the historical background of application of rotary-percussion drilling method, technological changes that have oceurred over the years, and to show the potential of this drilling method, using modern technology, in comparison with standard rotary method.

Opis:
The recipe of cement slurry contains a number of additives and admixtures used for obtaining appropriate technological parameters. Some of these agents have a loose form and their density is higher or lower than that of working water, which may result in sedimentation of solid phase. For the sake of eliminating this effect, the viscosity of the working fluid should be increased to keep the fine solids over the entire volume of the slurry. This can be done with the use of appropriate high-molecular polymers. However, bearing in mind the cost of the polymers, bentonite is most frequently applied. Bentonite (montmorillonite) has a packet build and the resulting higher water-demand causes an increase of viscosity of working fluid. It is most frequently used to improve the sedimentation stability, though the presence of this additive is not neutral for the technological parameters of the slurry. During research works aimed at analyzing the influence of montmorillonite on the parameters of fresh and hardened cement slurry predefined quantities of bentonite were used in proportion to the working water. Reference recipes of slurries were worked out to trace the changes. The following properties of the slurry were defined: rheological parameters, filtration, thickening time, water settling, sedimentation stability. For hardened cement samples the bentonite addition was analyzed in view of its influence on the mechanical properties (compressive strength), physicochemical parameters (adhesiveness to steel pipes and adhesiveness to rock formation). Additionally, hardened cement slurry underwent analyses describing the microstructure of the sample porosity and permeability tests). For the sake of determining the influence of mineral additives on parameters of slurry and the hardened slurry there were performer tests for recipes of slurries to be used in wellbore conditions at temperature from 30°C to 90°C and pressure from 5 MPa to 35 MPa.

The rheological properties of sealing slurries are very important at the stage of designing and realization of works related to the sealing and reinforcement of the ground rock mass with the use of drilling technologies. For providing high efficiency of the works related to the sealing of casing pipes in deep wells and the rock mass with borehole injection methods, the rheological parameters of sealing slurries should be selected depending on [1,2]: - reservoir conditions of ground and rocks to be sealed, — geometry of borehole and circulation system, — interactions between the stream of injected slurry and the resulting flow resistance, especially in the sealed medium. The results of laboratory experiments focusing on the influence of time on the rheological parameters of fresh sealing slurries based on API Class G HSR - Black Label drilling cement (Dyckerhoff) for various water to cement ratios are presented in the paper

Opis:
The development of techniques and technologies thanks to which parameters of the ground medium can be modified makes specialists look for new recipes of geopolymers – binders for the reinforcing and sealing of unstable and permeable grounds. The sealing slurries are expected to meet a number of strict requirements, therefore it is important to find new admixtures and additives which could modify the fresh and hardened slurry. Special attention has been recently paid to the fluid ash – a by-product of the combustion of hard coals. However, the use of this additive is associated with the application of appropriate superplastifier. Laboratory analyses of rheological parameters of fresh sealing slurries and the ways of improving their liquidity by a properly selected third-generation superplastifier are presented in the paper. The slurries were based on Portland cement CEM I, milled granulated large-furnace slag and fly ash from fluidized-bed combustion of hard coal.
Rozwój technik i technologii modyfikacji parametrów ośrodka gruntowego wymusza ciągłe poszukiwanie nowych receptur geopolimerów używanych jako spoiwa do wzmacniania i uszczelniania gruntów niestabilnych i przepuszczalnych. Zaczyny sporządzono w oparciu o cement portlandzki CEM I, mielony granulowany żużel wielkopiecowy oraz popiół lotny z fluidalnego spalania węgla kamiennego.

In 2015, the number of vehicles in the world exceeded 1.1 billion units. In the coming years, it is expected that the largest increase in the number of vehicles will take place in developing countries. This is a problem in particular in terms of emissions of harmful substances from vehicles. Considering that all manufactured vehicle models have to undergo a detailed homologation and meet the exhaust emission requirements before placing on the market, it is necessary to refine test procedures, including test cycles, in which vehicle emissions are determined. At present, the NEDC approval test is valid in Europe. It is a cycle reproduced on a chassis dynamometer in steady conditions. It consists of an urban section repeated four times and an extra urban part. From 2019, a new test procedure will take effect, which uses the WLTC cycle, also reproduced on a chassis dynamometer in fixed conditions. It is much more complex and better reflects the real traffic conditions. For a better illustration of the differences that occur between the current NEDC cycle and the new WLTC, the article presents a comparative analysis of both driving cycles. This is to present the justifiability of using a new driving cycle and to present its complexity. The article presents own research of a vehicle with a spark-ignition engine, which has been tested both in the NEDC and WLTC cycle. On the basis of the obtained data, it was possible to determine the differences in the emission of harmful exhaust gas components and indicate how the new homologation procedure affects the emissions from the vehicle.

Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of thin ferromagnetic sensing layer in combination with an in-plane magnetized reference layer is used to obtain linear change in the sensor resistance in response to the in-plane magnetic field. The perpendicular anisotropy is further controlled by the bias voltage and, thus, the sensitivity of the sensor is changed. In addition, we evaluate the sensor selectivity for the magnetic field direction and present an influence of the temperature on the anisotropy.

During the construction of mathematical models for mapping hydrogeological conditions it is necessary to apply simplifications, both in the geological structure and in hydrogeological parameters used. The present note discusses problems surrounding the mapping of glaciotectonic disturbances that occur in the northern part of Wolin Island (northwest Poland). For this part of the island, a direct outflow of groundwater towards the Baltic Sea basin has been determined on the basis of geophysical survey results. An important feature in the hydrogeological conditions here is the isolation of groundwater from both the Baltic Sea and Szczecin Lagoon by clay with a Cretaceous xenolith. Such a geological structure explains the presence of perched water at considerable heights in zones close to the cliffs, without any significant hydraulic connection with surrounding reservoirs. Hydrogeological conditions of Wolin Island have been modelled using the Visual MODFLOW package v.4.2. In the vertical section, these conditions can be simplified to one aquifer (Pleistocene-Holocene), in which two aquifers can be distinguished. In a large part of the island, these remain in mutual hydraulic contact: layer I – upper, with an unconfined aquifer, and layer II – lower, with a confined aquifer, locally an unconfined one. The schematisation of hydrogeological conditions adopted here has allowed to reproduce present groundwater dynamics in the study area.

Paper presents results of investigation on the properties of cement slurries used in casing works in horizontal wells. Six slurries were investigated. Each slurry was optimized to fulfill the demands of a particular well drilled in Pomeranian Basin in northern Poland. Slurries were designed the way to obtain flow diameter in the range 240-270 mm and exhibiting no sedimentation. Special emphasis was put on the stability of the slurries, due to high requirements for stability of slurries used in casing works in horizontal wells. Slurries were cured in conditions characteristic for particular wells (pressure in the range between 35 and 49 MPa, temperature in the range between 80 and 90 degrees of Celsius). For hardened slurries mechanical properties were determined. Phase composition of hardened slurries was determined with XRD and thermal analysis. In addition microstructural observations were done in order to determine the influence of temperature on microstructure of hardened cement matrix.
