    This article briefly introduces the peer-to-peer (P2P) concept and applies it to an educational context. It argues that a pedagogical approach based on P2P can support learning ecologies that both complement and transcend conventional classroom structures and practices, ultimately benefiting learners. The authors discuss both the pedagogical and technological prerequisites for peer-centered learning to occur, suggest possible tools, and provide examples of EFL/ESL projects. Personal Web-publishing in language learning contexts is described as an attempt to bridge the gap between the learners in the classroom and potential conversation partners on the Internet at large, resulting in a network of support and encouragement

    We study the heteroepitaxial growth of thin layers by means of the modified phase-field model with the incorporated anisotropy. The influence of elastic and surface energies on the layer growth is considered. For numerical solution of the model, an explicit numerical scheme based on the finite element method is employed. The obtained computational results with various anisotropy settings demonstrate the anisotropic thin-layer pattern growth.

    Opis:
    Thermo-electric Coolers (TECs) nowadays are applied in a wide range of thermal energy systems. This is due to their superior features where no refrigerant and dynamic parts are needed. TECs generate no electrical or acoustical noise and are environmentally friendly. Over the past decades, many researches were employed to improve the efficiency of TECs by enhancing the material parameters and design parameters. The material parameters are restricted by currently available materials and module fabricating technologies. Therefore, the main objective of TECs design is to determine a set of design parameters such as leg area, leg length and the number of legs. Two elements that play an important role when considering the suitability of TECs in applications are rated of refrigeration (ROR) and coefficient of performance (COP). In this paper, the review of some previous researches will be conducted to see the diversity of optimization in the design of TECs in enhancing the performance and efficiency. After that, single-objective optimization problems (SOP) will be tested first by using Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Simulated Annealing (SA) to optimize geometry properties so that TECs will operate at near optimal conditions. Equality constraint and inequality constraint were taken into consideration.

    This paper presents an application of Cuckoo search algorithm to determine optimal location and sizing of Static VAR Compensator. Cuckoo search algorithm is a modern heuristic technique basing Cuckoo species’ parasitic strategy. The L´evy flight has been employed to generate random Cuckoo eggs. Moreover, the objective function is a multiobjective problem, which minimizes loss power, voltage deviation and investment cost of Static VAR Compensator while satisfying other operating constraints in power system. Cuckoo search algorithm is evaluated on three case studies and compared with the Teaching-learning-based optimization, Particle Swarm optimization and Improved Harmony search algorithm. The results show that Cuckoo search algorithm is better than other optimization techniques and its performance is also better.

    In this article, I argue that the church must build up its theology of marriage in a more disciplined manner because the culture no longer sustains the Christian notion. In making a substantive argument I rely on the Lutheran “two ways that God reigns” approach in which we share “places of responsibility” with all humans, but in which the Christian virtues of faith, love, and hope transform those places into genuine Christian callings. I then contend strongly for the continued rejection of same-sex marriage among orthodox Christians. I conclude with what I hope is a compassionate pastoral approach—gracious tolerance—toward homosexual Christians.
    Dans cet article, on soutient que l’Église doit ériger la théologie du mariage de manière ordonnée, car la culture n’a plus de fondement dans la pensée chrétienne. L’essence de l’argumentation repose sur la distinction provenant de la tradition luthérienne des « deux voies du royaume de Dieu ». Selon cette distinction, nous partageons avec d’autres personnes des « lieux de responsabilité », mais avec les vertus chrétiennes de foi, d’espérance et d’amour, nous les transformons en lieux du rayonnement du christianisme. Ensuite, je plaide fermement pour le rejet permanent du mariage homosexuel chez les chrétiens orthodoxes. En conclusion, j’inclus ce que j’espère être une approche pastorale compatissante – une tolérance gracieuse – envers les chrétiens homosexuels.
    In questo articolo si sostiene che la Chiesa deve stabilire la teologia del matrimonio in modo ordinato, perché la cultura non ha più un fondamento nel pensiero cristiano. L’essenza dell’argomentazione si basa sulla distinzione che deriva dalla tradizione luterana delle «due vie del regno di Dio», secondo cui condividiamo con altre persone «luoghi di responsabilità», però li trasformiamo in luoghi di radiosa cristianità con le virtù cristiane di fede, speranza e amore. Si sostiene anche il rifiuto permanente del matrimonio omosessuale tra cristiani ortodossi. In conclusione, si include quello che spero sia un approccio pastorale compassionevole – la graziosa tolleranza – verso i cristiani omosessuali.

    Despite the French Revolution marking the beginning of the organized involvement of women in both political and more complex social spheres, the history of women and gender during that period remains a barely-explored subject, even within the renowned French historical circles. It was only since the 1970s that the protests and demands for improvement in the aspect of women’s rights have prompted politicaldiscussions in the West, inspiring historians to revisit and finally try to answer the female revolutionary question. The article aims to analyze the path that women’s rights undertook in France during the Revolution of 1789. By looking at the evolving historiography of the era, the article will answer the questions of how and to what extent social and political female freedoms improved during those years and how the Revolution of 1789 changed the cultural understanding of femininity. To accurately present the realities of everyday female life at that time, it shall also be necessary to make a few references to the ancient regime period that preceded the Revolution, as well as to the later times of the Directory’s and the Empire’s rules, with the emphasis on the Code Napoléon and what its appliance meant for 19th-centuryfemale rights.

    Chociaż Wietnam uczestniczył w licznych operacjach kosmicznych, współpracując z wieloma narodami z całego świata, prawna regulacja sektora kosmicznego jest wciąż w powijakach. W artykule przedstawiono rozwój polityki i prawa kosmicznego, a także współpracy międzynarodowej w zakresie wykorzystania przestrzeni kosmicznej w Wietnamie od 1979 roku do chwili obecnej, z punktem zwrotnym w 2006 roku. Autorzy wskazali także kilka prognoz dotyczących przyszłej ścieżki wietnamskiego prawa kosmicznego w nowej erze, liczonej od 2020 roku.
    Although Vietnam has participated in numerous outer space operations with many nations worldwide, its legal system in this sector is still in its infancy and consequently has several restrictions. More specifically, this article investigates the establishment and evolution of policies, laws, and international cooperation regarding the utilization of outer space in Vietnam from 1979 to the present, with the turning point in 2006. The authors then give some predictions concerning the future pathway of Vietnamese space law in the new age from 2020.

    During the period from 8th Century to early decades of the 14th Century, Dai Viet was in the course of prosperous development with reigns of Tran Thai Tong (ruled from 1226-1258), Tran Thanh Tong (1258-1278), Tran Nhan Tong (1278-1293), Tran Anh Tong (1293-1314), Tran Minh Tong (1914-1329), and Trang Hien Ton (1329-1341). We can say that this is time of prosperity and advance of Tran Dynasty. The Tran Kings’ piety upon Buddhism had a great impact on thought and government policies, especially the spirit of equality and humanity. Kings of Tran express a great care on life of the people, try to relieve their toils, reduce their duties, help the poor, and enhance the social security.116 From Tran Du Tong onwards, all was not as before anymore. Research on social security by Buddhism in Tran dynasty can be presented in many aspects, but this article just focuses on clarifying the social security through Buddhism’s care on material and spiritual life of the people.
    W okresie od VIII wieku do wczesnych dekad XIV wieku - za czasów panowania: Tran Thai Tong (rządził od 1226-1258), Tran Thanh Tong (1258-1278), Tran Nhan Tong (1278-1293), Tran Anh Tong (1293-1314), Tran Minh Tong (1914-1329), i Trang Hien Ton (1329-1341) - Dai Viet był w na drodze rozwoju. Można powiedzieć, że jest to czas prosperity i postępu dynastii Tran. Pobożność królów Tranu wobec buddyzmu miała wielki wpływ na myślenie i politykę rządu, zwłaszcza na ducha równości i człowieczeństwa. Królowie dynastii Tran wyrażają wielką troskę o życie ludzi, starają się ulżyć im w trudach, zmniejszają ich obowiązki, pomagają biednym i zwiększają bezpieczeństwo społeczne. Od czasów Tran Du Tong, wszystko nie było już takie jak dawniej. Badania nad zabezpieczeniem społecznym przez Buddyzm w dynastii Tran można przedstawić w wielu aspektach, niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się jednak tylko na wyjaśnieniu zabezpieczenia społecznego poprzez opiekę Buddyzmu nad materialnym i duchowym życiem ludzi.

    Celem badania było ustalenie czy stopy bezrobocia w 8 gospodarkach nowo uprzemysłowionych kształtują się zgodnie z hipotezą stopy naturalnej czy z hipotezą histerezy. W tym celu zastosowano wiele rodzajów testów pierwiastka jednostkowego w odniesieniu danych kwartalnych zebranych między 1 kwartałem 2002 a 1 kwartałem 2017. Podsumowując ustalenia można stwierdzić, że konwencjonalne testy pierwiastka jednostkowego, które nie uwzględniają ani asymetrii, ani zmian strukturalnych, dają najbardziej niejednoznaczne wyniki. Z drugiej strony, testy uwzględniające zmiany strukturalne przy zignorowaniu asymetrii potwierdzałyby hipotezę stopy naturalnej dla przyjętego panelu państw. Jednak jednoczesne uwzględnienie asymetrii i niezauważalnych zmian strukturalnych wydaje się dawać najbardziej wiarygodne wyniki i potwierdza histerezę w przypadku stóp bezrobocia wszystkich państw, za wyjątkiem gospodarek/państw azjatyckich: Tajlandii i Filipin.
    The focus of our study is on determining whether unemployment rates in 8 New Industrialized Economies conform to the natural rate hypothesis or the hysteresis hypothesis. To this end, we employ a variety of unit of unit root testing procedures to quarterly data collected between 2002:q1 and 2017:q1. Summarizing of our findings, conventional unit root tests which account neither for asymmetries nor structural breaks produce the most inconclusive results. On the other hand, tests which incorporate structural breaks while ignoring asymmetries tends to favour the natural rate hypothesis for our panel of countries. However, simultaneously accounting for asymmetries and unobserved structural breaks seemingly produces the most robust findings and confirms hysteresis in all unemployment rates except for Asian economies/countries of Thailand and the Philippines.
