Opis:
The canopy structure of wheat changes significantly with growth stages and leads to changes in reflectance anisotropy. Bidirectional reflectance distribution function characterises the reflectance anisotropy of the targets, which can be approximated. Spectrodirectional reflectance measurements on wheat crop were acquired using a field goniometer system. The bidirectional reflectance spectra were acquired at 54 view angles to cover the hemispheric span up to 60° view zenith. The observations were made during early growth stages till maturity of the crop. The anisotropy was not constant for all wavelengths and anisotropic factors clearly revealed spectral dependence, which was more pronounced in near principal plane. In near infrared, wheat canopy expressed less reflectance anisotropy because of higher multiple scattering. The broad hotspot signature was noticeable in reflectance of canopy whenever view and solar angles were close. Distinct changes in bidirectional reflectance distribution function were observed during booting to flowering stages as the canopy achieves more uniformity, height and head emergence. The function clearly reveals bowl shape during heading to early milking growth stages of the crop. Late growth stages show less prominent gap and shadow effects. Anisotropy index revealed that wheat exhibits changes in reflectance anisotropy with phenological development and with spectral bands.

Opis:
Geometrical acoustics is the most commonly used method of room acoustics prediction. Its efficiency can be improved by explicit calculation of ray contribution to each receiver during reflection called algebraic reflection. The aim of this research is to analyse the applicability and impact of reflection model choice on algebraic reflection calculation using the ray tracing with next event estimation. The tested reflection models include the specular and Lambert reflection combination and the Phong reflection model. Classical ray tracing algorithm, without algebraic reflections, is used as a reference. Based on simulation results and statistical analysis we conclude that the change of the reflection model significantly affects the acoustics conditions within the simulation changing echograms in early reflections region and the reverberation times. Statistical analysis proved that echograms obtained with the combination of ray tracing with next event estimation and Phong reflection model have lowest simulation to simulation variability.

Opis:
The paper discusses the possibilities of modelling the bi-directional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) in sea areas polluted by oil. Three sea basin models are considered: a coastal one free of oil, one polluted by an oil film and one polluted by an oil emulsion. The following concentrations of oil were compared: for the film, 1 cm3 of oil per 1 m2 water surface, for the emulsion 1 cm3 of oil in 1 m3 of water. The optical properties of Romashkino crude oil were taken into consideration, as were various angles of incident solar light. The conversion of BRDFs into a directional distribution of the optical contrast of polluted areas is demonstrated.

Opis:
Bidirectional reflectance distribution function of some artificial satellite used materials at the wavelength of 1.06 μm was measured in laboratory. Bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) models of these materials were established with the five-parameter BRDF model. Laser radar cross-section of a scaled satellite with various materials was calculated, and characteristics of laser radar cross-section of the satellite were discussed. Measurement system to measure laser radar cross-section of the satellite was established and the scaled satellite model was measured. By analyzing the measured data and calculated data, it can be clearly seen that the BRDF of the surface materials and the laser incidence angle are two of main influential factors of the scaled satellite’s laser radar cross-section. These works can provide a reference for design of the lidar system.

Opis:
The work presents the results of the applied surface pretreatment on topography and thickness of a passive layer of the anodically oxidized Ti6Al7Nb alloy. In our study were used: integrating sphere spectral measurements, bidirectional reflection distribution function (BRDF) method and optical profilometry. On the basis of the study, the passive layer thickness, roughness, waviness and the autocorrelation length were determined. The influence of voltage of anodization on topographical parameters of TiO2 has been discussed.
