A b-coloring is a coloring of the vertices of a graph such that each color class contains a vertex that has a neighbor in all other color classes, and the b-chromatic number b(G) of a graph G is the largest integer k such that G admits a b-coloring with k colors. A simple graph G is called b+-vertex (edge) critical if the removal of any vertex (edge) of G increases its b-chromatic number. In this note, we explain some properties in b+-vertex (edge) critical graphs, and we conclude with two open problems.

This paper proposes a new adaptive sliding mode control scheme for achieving coordinated motion control of a group of autonomous underwater vehicles with variable added mass. The control law considers the communication constraints in the acoustic medium. A common reference frame for velocity is assigned to a virtual leader dynamically. The performances of the proposed adaptive SMC were compared with that of a passivity based controller. To save the time and traveling distance for reaching the FRP by the follower AUVs, a sliding mode controller is proposed in this paper that drives the state trajectory of the AUV into a switching surface in the state space. It is observed from the obtained results that the proposed SMC provides improved performance in terms of accurately tracking the desired trajectory within less time compared to the passivity based controller. A communication consensus is designed ensuring the transfer of information among the AUVs so that they move collectively as a group. The stability of the overall closed-loop systems are analysed using Lyapunov theory and simulation results confirmed the robustness and efficiency of proposed controller.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the E-Commerce relationship quality and loyalty in B2B supplier and client’s relationships. This study tries to conceptualize a model based on the relationship quality that is applied to understand loyalty in B2B environment. The subjects of this study, from whom 81 valid questionnaires were collected, were the clients of the supplier’s ERP system in the Taiwan. When descriptive statistics and partial least squares (PLS) were adopted to analyse the collected valid data, we obtained the following findings. Relationship quality was perceived through the behavior of both supplier and clients and the quality of their interaction. Relationship quality antecedents include the information sharing and customer orientation. The finding suggests that supplier with strong levels of customer orientation, the supplier and clients were built a stronger relationship and high loyalty. Surprisingly, information sharing shown no significant effects on the relationship quality. This study implies that using information sharing and customer orientation strengthen their relationship quality, thereby enhancing loyalty. The finding of this study implies that it is important for a B2B supplier management to understand clients’ needs and responses. B2B suppliers can learn from this study, that customer orientation, relationship quality, commitment, have a positive impact on loyalty in both direct and indirect ways.
Celem artykułu była analiza jakości relacji z klientami i lojalności w handlu elektronicznym u dostawcy B2B. Niniejsze badanie jest próbą konceptualizacji modelu opartego na jakości relacji, który jest próbą zrozumienia lojalności w środowisku B2B. Przedmiotem badania byli wybrani klienci systemu ERP w oparciu na zebranych 81 kwestionariuszach firm na Tajwanie. Przyjęto statystyki opisowe i w oparciu o metodę najmniejszych kwadratów (PLS) w celu przeanalizowania zebranych istotnych danych. Jakość relacji postrzegano poprzez zachowanie zarówno dostawcy, jak i klientów oraz jakość ich interakcji. Jakość relacji przede wszystkim obejmuje dzielenie się informacjami i orientację na klienta. Wyniki sugerują, że dostawcy z silnym poziomem orientacji na klienta, zbudowali silniejszą więź i wysoką lojalność relacji z dostawcami i klientami. Co zaskakujące, wymiana informacji nie wykazała znaczącego wpływu na jakość relacji. Badanie zakłada, że korzystanie z wymiany informacji i orientacja na klienta wzmacnia ich jakość relacji, zwiększając przez to lojalność. Odkrycie tego badania implikuje, że dla dostawcy usług B2B ważne jest zrozumienie potrzeb i odpowiedzi klientów. Dostawcy B2B winni zauważyć, że orientacja na klienta, jakość relacji, zaangażowanie, mają pozytywny wpływ na lojalność zarówno w sposób bezpośredni, jak i pośredni.

Purpose – The presented paper aims to characterize the main differences and similarities between B2B as well as the commercial customers buying behaviors. Design/Methodology/Approach – The authors’ approach is based on the literature and research review, concerning the B2B customers buying behaviors. The authors assess buying behavior of professional clients. Findings – Based on the analysis, we can find out that the use of electronic means of cooperation between the companies continues to grow in strength and dynamics. It seems that the distribution model, where the supplier runs his own B2B shop, maintains its position only in case of strong market players. Small and weak players will use the universal marketplaces. We observe growing “self-service with everything”; providers will pass on to buyers and systems, most actions which they can perform by themselves. Practical implications – The outcome of the analysis can teach managers to act on the B2B electronic markets, how to organise the multi-channel sale systems and how these systems can be used by both, commercial and business customers. Original value – The original value of the paper is that we have presented the general analysis of possible future expectations of B2B business customers, as well as those customers buying behaviors which regard to the use of the omnichannel sale. A b-coloring of a graph G by k colors is a proper vertex coloring such that every color class contains a color-dominating vertex, that is, a vertex having neighbors in all other k-1 color classes. The b-chromatic number $χ_b(G)$ is the maximum integer k for which G has a b-coloring by k colors. Moreover, the graph G is called b-continuous if G admits a b-coloring by k colors for all k satisfying $χ(G) ≤ k ≤ χ_b(G)$. In this paper, we establish four general upper bounds on $χ_b(G)$. We present results on the b-chromatic number and the b-continuity problem for special graphs, in particular for disconnected graphs and graphs with independence number 2. Moreover we determine $χ_b(G)$ for graphs G with minimum degree δ(G) ≥ |V(G)|-3, graphs G with clique number ω(G) ≥ |V(G)|-3, and graphs G with independence number α(G) ≥ |V(G)|-2. We also prove that these graphs are b-continuous.

Research background: Digital marketing has changed the nature of company-to-customer communication. With rising information overload and reduced decision-making time, touchpoints have gained additional importance by yielding customer loyalty. Yet, the existing digital marketing tools have failed to keep pace with these trends. Companies are lacking a simple framework that focuses on a digital marketing strategy built around touchpoints and customer loyalty. This is especially relevant for B2B companies, which due to their specifics are more dependent on customers and less flexible in adapting of new digital trends. Purpose of the article: A B2B business strategy tailored to digital trends demands a re-evaluation of prior understanding of a product portfolio, a company?s internal and external environment. The purpose of the article is to present a framework that helps to undertake the necessary changes and enables the connections with industry. Methods: The suggested model has been drawn from the literature review and extended based on the findings of a multiple case study of Austrian Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry companies. The fieldwork was conducted in early 2017.  Findings & Value added: Aspiring to follow trends in digital marketing and to help B2B companies to adapt their strategy to ongoing changes in company-to-customer communication, a new framework has been developed. The framework aims to increase customer loyalty and focuses on channels/touchpoints, assets, skills, audience and customer journey. The model could be beneficial for Chief Marketing Officers (CMO) and other C-levels by offering a simple and reliable tool for improving a company's position in the digital marketplace. Moreover, it enables continuous adjustment of an already existing business strategy.

This article aims to narrate and examine a unique story of ‘Polonisation’ of a certain population group in the interwar Central-European border area. It deals with the question of belonging and affiliation of a group of members of a Jewish organisation in East Upper Silesia. The area, which was transferred to Poland from Germany after WWI, experienced an intensive process of nationalisation, or Polonisation. The article focuses mostly on the former German city Kattowitz, or Katowice, which after the border shift became the capital of Poland’s new province, the Silesian Voivodeship. A period of thirteen years has been taken into account: from 1921, the year of the plebiscite in Upper Silesia, until 1934, when Poland and Germany signed the non-aggression pact. Both the plebiscite and the signing of the non-aggression pact were crucial for the Upper Silesian minorities. At the time of the plebiscite, these minorities had to opt for a national affiliation, while none of them considered themselves completely German or Polish. Therefore, after the plebiscite and with the borders rearranged, these groups should have been fit for getting Polonised. The article focuses at the Jewish test case, in a wide and comparative context of international political and diplomatic background. It therefore places micro-history cases within the macro-history of Central Europe between the two World Wars.

A thermodynamic optimization of the ternary Fe-B-Mn system is presented. The thermodynamic parameters of the binary sub-systems, Fe-Mn, Fe-B and B-Mn, are taken from earlier assessments slightly modifying the B-Mn system description. The thermodynamic parameters of the Fe-B-Mn system are optimized in this study using literature experimental thermodynamic and phase equilibrium data. The solution phases of the system are described using the substitutional solution model and the borides are treated as stoichiometric or semi-stoichiometric phases of the (A,B)pCq type described with the two-sublattice models.
Przedstawiono termodynamiczny opis trójskładnikowego układu Fe-B-Mn. Parametry termodynamiczne dwuskładnikowych stopów Fe-Mn, Fe-B i B-Mn zostały zaczerpnięte z wcześniejszych opracowań, przy tym opis układu B-Mn został nieznacznie zmodyfikowany. Parametry termodynamiczne dla układu Fe-B-Mn zostały zoptymalizowane w tej pracy w oparciu o eksperymentalne równowagi fazowe i dane termodynamiczne zaczerpnięte z literatury. Roztwory stałe w układzie Fe-B-Mn opisano przy użyciu modelu roztworu substytucyjnego, a borki traktowane sa jako fazy stechiometryczne lub półstechiometryczne typu (A,B)pCq opisane przy użyciu modelu dwu podsieci.

A Chalconyl homologous series: RO-C6H4-CH=CH-CO-C6H4-OC12H25(n) (meta) of novel liquid crystalline (LC) derivatives of thermotropic variety have been synthesized and studied with a view to understand the effect of molecular structure on LC behaviours with reference to varying flexibility due to tailed end group for the same homologue and from homologue to homologue in the same series. A novel series consisted of thirteen homologues whose first member is nonliquidcrystals and the rest of the homologues are LC in enantiotropic or monotropic condition. Nematogenic mesomorphism commences from C2 homologue. C2 to C5 homologues are enantiotropic nematic and C6 to C18 homologues are monotropic nematic. Smectogenic character commences from C4 homologue as enantiotropic manner and C6 to C18 derivatives are monotroic smectic. Transition temperatures and textures of mesophases were determined by an optical polarising microscopy (POM) equipped with a heating stage. The transition curves of a phase diagram behaved in normal manner. Spectral, analytical and thermal data supported the molecular structures of homologues. Thermal stability for smectic is low of the order of 56.0 °C and that of the nematic is 70.5 °C. The corresponding mesophaselengths for smectic and nematic are varied minimum to maximum are 1 or 2 °C to 15 °C and 5 to 29 °C respectively. The group efficiency order derived on the basis of thermal stability .
