Answers to the tests made it possible to divide participants by different types of culture and built out hierarchy of values preferable for them. Results. The analysis shows that two clusters of examinees leaning toward different types of culture are empirically outlined. Their value orientations and dependence of the established values on the type of culture they lean toward is studied. The research has also indicated that  in traditional culture and modern culture there is different hierarchy of values. Conclusions. Outlining of such types of culture as traditional, modern and dynamically developing culture enables clarification of special features of culture in general. Most approaches towards management seem to aim at the most economical use of resources during the accomplishment of a pre-determined goal. Different types of capital (physical, intellectual, social) are elementary in achieving the goal. The role of the different types of capital has changed through time, with increasing emphasis on intellectual and social capital. In this context, this paper presents the main features of organizational culture and corporate culture and their impact on the organization's management

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to analyze the ways in which religious symbols are present in non-religious spheres of contemporary European culture. It is widely known that, as a result of secularization, religious symbolic language is no longer present in the public sphere and culture of contemporary European societies in the same way as it was in the past. At first sight, it seems that it has lost its relevance for other fields of culture as well as for everyday communication, and that religion has become a relatively closed system of communication. However, more thorough investigation shows that various religious symbols are widely used in many fields of secular culture. The fundamental question concerning religious symbols is whether and, if yes, in what particular way, they change their meaning as a result of being used in non-religious cultural activity. What is the reason that previously marginalized religious symbols reappear in secular culture? It may be hypothesized that religious symbols are not culturally contingent, but they constitute a universal dimension of culture and are deeply rooted in the human mind.

Organizational culture
Opis:
Culture includes organization values, visions, norms, working language, systems, symbols, beliefs, and habits. It is also the pattern of such collective behaviour and assumptions that are taught to new organizational members as a way of perceiving, and even thinking and feeling. Organizational culture affects the way people and groups interact with each other, with clients, and with stakeholders. Workplace diversity is an issue which is focused on differences and similarities that people bring to an organization. It is usually defined broadly to include dimensions beyond those specified legally in equal opportunity and affirmative action for non-discrimination status. Diversity is often inter-preted to include dimensions which influence the identities and perspec-tives that people bring, such as a profession, education, parental status and geographic location. People from different cultures in the world find themselves interacting and working with individuals and groups from other cultures, operating and communicating according to differing sets of cultural norms, values, and communication styles. Consequently, researchers and global leadership practitioners stress a heightened need for understanding other cultures and their people, finding possible issues and what factors show potential to impede effective communication within an organization characterized by cultural diversity.

Opis:
The publication focuses on issues related to the culture of safety and the culture of quality. The aim of the publication is to analyze the literature on the subject of these two concepts and to present the relationship between the culture of quality and culture of safety. The integrated system should include the culture of an integrated management system, which will include issues related to individual partial cultures, for example the cultures of quality and safety presented in this publication. This concept includes all elements of the culture of quality and culture of occupational safety. This opens up new, interesting research fields, consistent with contemporary trends in both theory and practice of management sciences. Considering the practical dimension of management sciences, it is difficult to consider separately the "culture" of individual subsystems, where in most enterprises, especially industrial ones, these systems do not appear separately and are implemented in the form of an integrated system.

Opis:
In the article, I search for the connection between emotions culture and education by examining the affective reproduction of culture. Building on the tradition of Émile Durkheim, in the works by Arlie Russell Hochschild and Steven Gordon the concept of emotional culture is (re)constructed. Emotional culture is understood as the specific complex of emotion vocabularies, feeling rules, and beliefs about emotions. Emotions and their meaning provide a socio-psychological mechanism that controls/develops individuals and groups. In the text, it is argued that the concept of emotional culture adds a distinctive conceptual tool for studying different educational contexts and environments. To examine this argument, the article is divided into three parts. First, an overview of the concepts and theories that underlie the term of emotional culture is given. In the second part, the concept is analyzed in the light of modern cultural studies. The article closes by pointing out pedagogical implications, especially those connected with emotional education.

The purpose of this article is to present the determinants of organizational culture and its sources. It was proven that the factors creating culture that are present in the general environment are directly related to national culture and only to a small extent are controlled by managers. Further it was noticed that the influence of the founders, managers and employees on organizational culture, with their source in the target environment of the organization, increases the possibility of shaping the value of organizational culture intentionally by the managing staff. It was pointed out that the managers’ knowledge of the factors determining organizational culture is essential to shape it consciously.

Contacts between regions located north and south of the Carpathians, in the mountainous area of northern Slovakia, have been evident from the Late La Tène Period. They have been the most intensive since the 2nd century, especially in the Roman phases B2 and B2/C1. This is particularly noticeable on the metal findings and ceramic artefacts of the Przeworsk culture in the milieu of the Púchov culture, where they influenced local production.

Claudio SalmeriFaculty of PhilologyUniversity of Silesia in Katowice Sicily, Not Italy Abstract: Since the American continent became a part of the European imagination, it has always been seen to represent freedom. Especially after 1776, when the American democratic “experiment” giving rise to the United States proved durable, America became a source of social and political inspiration to generations of Europeans and non-Europeans alike. Unsurprisingly, also in the Italian context, the catalog of ways in which American values have been “translated into Italian” and adapted to Italy’s cultural space seems to be ever-growing. Yet, even though the cultural transfer dates back to Christopher Columbus, it is especially since the outbreak of World War II that Italy has been markedly influenced by intellectual and material values generated in the US. At some point, the fascination with the US soared to such a level that, incredibly as it may sound, one of the most iconic provinces of Italy would begin to imagine itself as the forty-ninth state of the US long before Alaska and Hawaii gained their present-day status: in Sicily, the American fascination seems never to abate.

Organizational culture represents the system of companies’ cultural values embedded in the values of local communities, nations, or sectors. It seems that these values ought to be similar for companies producing the same type of product, offering similar services and operating in a similar environment, regardless of the type of the enterprise. As a consequence, the following research questions emerged: What are the cultural characteristics of companies representing the same sector? Will the size of the company and ownership form differentiate the organizational culture of companies representing the same sector. What will the potential difference be? Answers to these questions were obtained in the course of a survey study with the application of a questionnaire identifying cultural values. The study encompassed 253 managers representing 70 food sector companies (fruits and vegetables processing). Results of the study revealed that the organizational culture of these companies is diversified. The diversity pertains to each type of company, values and their ranking in values systems. The scale of diversity is heterogeneous.
W badaniach uczestniczyło 253 kierowników prezentujących 70 przedsiębiorstw sektora spożywczego (przetwarzanie i konserwowanie owoców i warzyw). Uzyskane wyniki badań pozwoliły stwierdzić, że kultura organizacyjna badanych przedsiębiorstw branży spożywczej jest zróżnicowana. Odmienność ta dotyczy każdego badanego typu przedsiębiorstwa, odmiennych wartości oraz kolejności wartości w systemach. Skala zróżnicowania jest niejednolita.
