    Kateřina Váňová argues that reading narrative literature both contributes to the development of competencies in school-age readers and has a positive influence on a child’s personality in general. In the article’s analytical-interpretative part, she examines the potential of using artistic texts in the process of building emotional maturity in children. She draws attention to the method’s practical application in the process of socialization and of building self-knowledge.

    Literary historian Jaroslava Janáčková has been inquiring into Czech literature of the 19th century for several decades. In order to pay homage to her substantial contribution to the knowledge of the period and development of fiction poetics on the occasion of her birthday, the author of the paper summarizes some of the crucial approaches of Janáčková´s research to apply them further in analyzing a novel by Alois Jirásek, on whose work she focused mainly in the 1980s.

    Opis:
    The situation after the fire of 1758, which destroyed the church including the organ, was bleak: the repairs took decades. The temporary solution was a small positive organ on a provisional choir in the presbytery. The commission for a new organ was given to František Horčička from Frýdek in 1781, who built a large two-manual instrument with 34 registers for 2800 florins. A copy of the contract informs us well about this instrument, about František Horčička’s method of work and about other circumstances of his commission. E. Kreuzinger’s statement that Karl Kuttler built the organ here in 1836 is probably wrong. The new instrument was not built until 1894 as opus 418 by Gebrüder Rieger. This Krnov workshop rebuilt the organ in 1924 (pneumatisation of the action), 1957 (extension of the register specification and tonal range) and 1991 (further enlargement and installation of the electric action).

    Opis:
    Příspěvek se zabývá tzv. somatickými frazémy, jež jsou založeny na bázovém lexému ruka. Pro potřeby tohoto příspěvku bylo analyzováno užití jednoho konkrétního spojení, a to v rukou. Jazykový materiál pro excerpci poskytl archiv mluvených pořadů Českého rozhlasu, konkrétně zpravodajské pořady Rozhlasové noviny z roku 1977 a Ozvěny dne z roku 1997; pro porovnání byla využita i data z Českého národního korpusu z týchž let. Cílem je postihnout poměr doslovného a metaforického užití vybrané vazby, kvalitativně analyzovat sémantické profily, v nichž se vyskytuje, a identifikovat případný ideologický podtext.
    The paper deals with somatic idioms based on Czech lexeme ruka (hand). For the analysis a collocation v rukou (i.e. in hands) was chosen. Analyzed data come especially from Czech Radio news 1977 and 1997 (from a demo version of the platform being developed for automatic transcription and sophisticated access to historical audio archive of the Czech Radio), and from the Czech National Corpora. The analysis should demonstrate a ratio between basic and figurative meaning of the chosen collocation, its semantic profiles, and should reveal potential ideological implicit meaning.

    Článek na příkladu dvou českých textů doby barokní ukazuje, jakým způsobem bylo použito téma anděla a andělské úcty k cílům nábožensky vzdělávacím. Theatrum divinum (1616) nekatolíka M. Konečného je encyklopedie založená na vizi světa jako božího divadla, v němž je v šesti dějstvích (šesti dnech stvoření světa) vyložena podoba makro- a mikrokosmu. Víra v anděly je jeho součástí a její výklad je ilustrovaný biblickými příklady. Knížka pobožná o svatých anjelích (1699) jezuity V. B. Jestřábského zachycuje spiritualitu vrcholného baroka. V centru její pozornosti je vzájemný vztah člověka a anděla, kultivuje čtenářovu zbožnost, schopnost meditace a modlitby. Dobovou představu o andělu jako průvodci člověka životem využívá Jestřábský i v alegorické próze Vidění rozličné sedláčka sprostného (1710 nebo 1716). Interpretace textů se opírá o strukturální analýzu, pokouší se též charakterizovat autorskou strategii zaměřenou na prohloubení znalosti víry modelového recipienta. Přínos článku lze spatřovat v tom, že zvolené texty sleduje též z hlediska jejich významné funkce mimoliterární, prezentuje metody a postupy, které vedou modelového recipienta k rozvíjení úcty k andělům a tím i k prohloubení jeho zbožnosti.
    Using two examples of Czech texts of the Baroque period the article shows the way how the theme of angels and respect for the angels was used for religious educational goals. Theatrum divinum (1616) by a non-Catholic - M. Konečný is an encyclopedia based on the vision of the world as God´s theatre which describes in six acts (6 days of the creation of the world) the form of macro- and microcosm. The belief in angels is the part of this vision and its interpretation is illustrated by biblical examples. The pious book about angels (1699) by the Jesuit V. B. Jestřábský captures the spirituality of the high Baroque period. It focuses on the mutual relationship between a man and an angel, cultivates the reader´s piousness, his ability to meditate and to pray. Jestřábský uses the contemporary idea of angels as man’s guides to life also in the allegorical prose Various visions of an ordinary peasant (1710 or 1716). The interpretation of the texts is based on a structural analysis and also attempts to characterize the author´s strategy aimed to deepen the knowledge of a model recipient’s faith. The contribution of this article can be seen in the fact that it analyses the chosen texts also from the point of view of their significant extra-literary function, it presents the methods and procedures that lead the model recipient to developing a respect for angels and thus to deepening his/ her piety too.
    Stosując dwa przykłady czeskich tekstów z okresu baroku, artykuł pokazuje sposób, w jaki temat aniołów i szacunek (cześć) dla aniołów używano do celów edukacyjno-religijnych (dydaktyczno-religijnych). Theatrum Divinum (1616) napisana przez nie-katolika Matouša Konečnego (Mateusza Koniecznego) jest encyklopedią opartą o wizję świata jako teatru Boga, który opisuje wq sześciu aktach (6 dni Stworzenia świata) formy makro- i mikro-kosmosu. Wiara w anioły jest częścią tej wizji a jej interpretację zilustrowano biblijnymi przykładami (przykładami z Biblii). Nabożna księga o swiętych aniołach (1699) jezuity Valentina Bernarda Jestřábský’ego (Walentyna Bernarda Jastrzębskiego) przejmuje duchowość wysokiego (wzniosłego) okresu baroku. Ona skupia się na wzajemnych relacjach pomiędzy człowiekiem i aniołem, kultywuje pobożność czytelnika, usprawnia jego zdolność do medytacji i modlitwy. Jestřábský (Jastrzębski) używa współczesnej mu koncepcji (idei) aniołów jako człowieczych przewodników w życiu także w alegorycznej prozie Różne wizje zwykłego chłopa (1710 albo 1716). Interpretacja tekstu opiera się na analizie strukturalnej, spróbowano też scharakteryzować strategię autorską mającą w zamierzeniu pogłębić poznanie wiary modelowego odbiorcy. Wkład artykułu można dostrzec w tym, że wybrane teksty wynikają także z punktu widzenia ich znaczących funkcji pozaliterackich, prezentuje metody i praktyki, które wiodą modelowego odbiorcę do rozwijania szacunku do aniołów i tym samym także i do pogłębienia jego pobożności (religijności).
