Артыкул прысвечаны аналізу феномену Беларускага літаратурнага аб’яднання «Белавежа» ў Польшчы. Арганізацыя ўзнікла ў 1958 годзе на хвалі адраджэнскіх працэсаў. Творчасць беларускіх пісьменнікаў, грамадзян Польшчы, у якой знайшлі адлюстраванне тэмы беларускай і польскай рэчаіснасці, культуры і гісторыі, выклікае складанасці ў аналізе для польскіх і беларускіх літаратуразнаўцаў. У артыкуле звяртаецца ўвага на тое, што даследчыцкая перспектыва адыгрывае важкую ролю пры класіфікацыі творчасці «белавежцаў». Падкрэсліваецца, што натуральнымі з’яўляюцца разыходжанні паміж польскім і беларускім разуменнем характару творчасці членаў БЛА «Белавежа», аднак наробак аўтахтонаў Беласточчыны не можа быць вычарпаны супастаўленнем толькі з адной нацыянальнай літаратурай і ўпісвацца ў літаратуру Крэсаў ці рэгіянальную. Гетэрагенічны і памежны «белавежскі» плён узрастае з беларускіх каранёў і ў значнай ступені належыць беларускаму кантэксту і спадчыне, з’яўляецца заканамерным этапам развіцця беларускай літаратуры ўвогуле.
This article analyses the phenomenon of the Belarusian Literature Association “Belavezha” in Poland. The organisation was founded in 1958 on the wave of Belarusian revival processes in the Białystok region. The works of Belarusian writers, Polish citizens, in which the themes of Belarusian and Polish reality, culture and history are reflected, make analyses difficult for Polish and Belarusian literary scholars. The research perspective is an important factor in the classification of the works of “Białowieża people”, which is included in the Kresy (regional or borderland) literature. The article notes that the research perspective is an important factor in the classification of the work of “Białowieża people”.It is emphasized that discrepancies between the Polish and Belarusian understanding of the nature of the work of BLA “Belavezha” members are natural, although the works of the inhabitants of the Białystok region cannot be depleted by comparison with only one national literature and inscribed in the literature of the Borderlands or the region. Heterogeneous and borderland “Białowieża” literature originates from Belarusian roots and to a large extent belongs to the Belarusian context and heritage, and is generally a natural phase in the development of Belarusian literature.

Byelorussian Literary Association Bialovezha - the only such literary organization in Poland - was brought into being on 8th June 1958 in Bialystok. The literary output of the Association members is impressive. Over 200 books of poetry and prose, essays and literary critics, scientific monographs and translations have been published. In the output, which has persisted for over half a century, the affection for homeland is expressed. An attachment to home and family is one of the key experience and feelings which initiate the need of poetic expression. In poetry of Viktor Shved, Dymitr Shatylovich, Ales Barsky, Jan Chykvin, Michal Shahovich, Jerzy Bayena, Mira Luksha, Jerzy Buyniuk and others, this subject acquires individual features determined by creative personality of every poet and his sensibility to the particular character of the borderland culture.

Mimo iż coraz częściej pojawia się w druku bardzo popularna ostatnio problematyka kobieca, na Białorusi wciąż brakuje prac poświęconych kobietom, które pozostawiły swój ślad w historii oraz kulturze tego kraju. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą panoramicznego zarysu kobiecej twórczości literackiej do wieku XVIII. Sylwetki poszczególnych autorek zostały przedstawione na tle zachodzących w społeczeństwie zmian kulturowo-obyczajowych. Autorka zwraca uwagę na stopniowe oswojenie przez kobiety zdominowanej przez mężczyzn przestrzeni literackiej. Wśród wymienionych w artykule kobiet parających się pisaniem w czasach dawnych znalazły się Barbara Radziwiłłówna, Konstancja Sanguszkowa, Anna Mycielska, Franciszka Urszula Radziwiłłowa, Salomea Regina Pilsztynowa, Teofila Glińska.

The outstanding Belarusian poet, novelist and playwright, Uladzimir Karatkiewicz (1930-1984) was a great enthusiast of Polish history, culture and literature. Proposed for readers’ consideration is the article, which includes confessions of this Belarusian artist that he shared with me during the many meetings in Belarus and Poland. The Belarusian writer placed Polish and Belarusian realities side by side with enormous openness and honesty. Karatkiewicz did not hide his recognition, and even admiration of attitude, of such Polish folklorists as Jan Czeczot, Jan Barszczewski, Aleksander Rypiński, Oskar Kolberg, Kazimierz Moszyński, Zygmunt Gloger, Czeslaw Pietkiewicz and Michal Federowski, who devoted many years of their lives to the collection and analysis of Belarusian folklore. Karatkiewicz strongly wished that Belarusians became similar to Poles in their attachment to their own history, language, and took from them their consistent quest for sovereignty and independence of their own country.

The written Belorussian heritage of the Renaissance is a unique phenomenon in the European culture. In years 1517-1519 Francis Skoryna published in Prague 23 books of the Bible in the Old Belorussian language. In introductions and epilogues to the first published edition of the Bible in Eastern Belorussia and the territory of today’s Poland Skoryna inherited and creatively developed the outlook on life presented in works of Basil the Great, Dionysius Areopagite, Gregory the Theologian, Efrema of Syria, Jan from Damascus, Cyril from Turow and others. This spiritual-ethical heritage is fundamentally different than ancient, to which the Western-European Renaissance reffered.

Opis:
Belarusian literature in the 20th century often developed on the territory of other countries. A particularly striking example of such development is represented by creativity of Belarusian writers of Poland, united in the literature association “Belavezha” in 1958. The article highlights the links between the literature of the Belarusian-Polish borderland and the literary process in the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus, highly appreciated spiritual and pragmatic activity of “Belavezha” writers, national style features in their work, aspiration in artistic autobiographies to reconstruct the life of the Belarusian people in the era of state border changes in Europe, and patriotic pathos.
Literatura białoruska w XX wieku często rozwijała się na terytorium innych krajów. Przykładem takiego rozwoju jest twórczość białoruskich pisarzy w Polsce, stowarzyszonych w organizacji literackiej „Białowieża” w 1958 roku. Artykuł przedstawia związki między literaturą na białorusko-polskim pograniczu a procesem literackim w BSRR i Republice Białoruś, podkreśla duchową i pragmatyczną działalność pisarzy-„białowieżan”, ich narodowy styl, aspiracje – aby zrekonstruować życie Białorusinów w epoce przesuwania granic w Europie, podkreśla patriotyczny patos.

Opis:
This article explores the known published lyrical works of Barbara Kwapisz (1949), a Polish-born poet who learnt Belarusian upon moving to Białowieża to work as a teacher and coming into contact with the local Belarusian ethnic minority, their customs and culture. In order to analyse Kwapisz's poetry, we consulted the archive of the weekly magazine "Niva", as well as the 1980 edition of the "Belaveža" literary almanac. We managed to find a total of 11 poems dating from 1976 to 1980 which we analysed from the linguistic and literary point of view. After our study of Barbara Kwapisz's works, we came to the conclusion that her poetry deserves both recognition and scientific attention, since she is both a key representative of the phenomenon of exophony in the Belarusian language and a notable poet.
У артыкуле даследуюцца вядомыя апублікаваныя лірычныя творы Бар¬бары Квапіш (1949г. н.), паэткі польскага паходжання, якая вывучыла бела-рускую мову пасля таго, як пераехала ў Белавежу працаваць настаўніцай і ўступіла ў кантакт з мясцовай беларускай этнічнай меншасцю, яе звычаямі і культурай. Для таго, каб прааналізаваць паэзію Б. Квапіш, мы звярнуліся да штотыднёвіка "Ніва", а таксама да літаратурнага альманаха "Белавежа" за 1980 год. Нам удалося выявіць у агульнай колькасці 11 вершаў за 1976–1980 гг., якія мы прааналізавалі з моўнага і літаратурнага пункту гледжання. Пасля вывучэння твораў Б. Квапіш мы прыйшлі да высновы, што яе паэзія заслугоўвае як прызнання, так і навуковай увагі, бо яна адначасова ёсць ключавою прадстаўнічкай з'явы экзафаніі на беларускай мове і выдатнай паэткай.
W niniejszym artykule analizujemy znane publikowane utwory liryczne Barbary Kwapisz (1949), urodzonej w Polsce poetki, która po przeprowadzce do Białowieży dla pracy nauczycielskiej zetknęła się z lokalną białoruską mniej-szością etniczną, jej obyczajami i kulturą, oraz nauczyła się języka białoruskiego. W celu analizy poezji B. Kwapisza skorzystaliśmy z archiwum tygodnika „Niva” oraz wydania almanachu literackiego „Belaveža” 1980 roku. Udało nam się znaleźć łącznie 11 wierszy z lat 1976–1980, które przeanalizowaliśmy pod względem językowym i literackim. Po przestudiowaniu twórczości B. Kwapisz doszliśmy do wniosku, że jej poezja zasługuje zarówno na uznanie, jak i na uwagę naukową, ponieważ jest ona zarówno kluczowym przedstawicielem zjawiska egzofonii w języku białoruskim, jak i wybitną poetką.

Belarusian literature in Poland is a unique phenomenon resulting from the merging of various cultural and aesthetic traditions, which in turn has established good prospects for surreal experiments. The article discusses individual elements of the surrealistic artistic system, which are found in the poems of the authors of the «Belavezha» association.
Literatura białoruska w Polsce jest zjawiskiem wyjątkowym, wynikającym z połączenia różnych tradycji kulturowych i estetycznych, co z kolei stworzyło dobre perspektywy dla eksperymentów surrealistycznych. Niniejszy artykuł analizuje niektóre elementy surrealistycznego systemu artystycznego spotykane w utworach poetów-„białowieżan”.

The article is about shaping of the national idea in the period of forming the new Byelorus- sian literature (XIX century). Mainly the role of folklore in this process is taken into consideration. Studying the literary legacy of the member of Filomaci and Filareci association Jan Czeczot there is analysis of Lithuanian contribution of the Byelorussian literature into Byelorussian renaissance (W. Konan). The most important book of the representative of Byelorussian trend Jan Barszczew- ski called Szlachcic Zawalnia albo Białoruś w opowiadaniach fantastycznych is examined.The contribution into the development of the Byelorussian national idea of Franciszk Bahuszewicz, the author of preface to Dudka białoruska manifesto of Byelorussian renaissance is emphasized. His composition becomes the impulse to the further development of Byelorussian literature and to the forming of the Byelorussian national idea.

The article is dedicated to the memory of Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor, Doctor of Science in Philology Aleh Antonavich Lojka. Most of the life of the famous scientist and writer was associated with the Belarusian State University. A.A. Lojka entered the university in 1948 and until the end of his life considered himself a “university student”. The book “My BSU”, written in 2005–2006, remained unpublished. It includes memoirs “From my recollections of a university student”, “Memories from the socalled social life”, notes “In search of teaching skills” and “Philological poem”. The article for the first time provides information about the history and composition of this book, using archival material.

The author of the article investigates stable archetypes in Ales Barski’s – Belarusian poet – oeuvre. She points out that all archetypical images are subjective, i.e. created through the author’s perception. Ales Barski addressing images of home, forest, matter that traditionally function in Belarusian literature looks for the origin in mythology and folklore. They help to find philosophic-artistic understanding of life, time and creative beginnings. It is emphasized that archetypes perform the function of mental therapy for preoccupied modern mankind.

The article discusses life and work of Vyacheslav Bogdanovich (1878–1939/1940?), an outstanding figure of Belarusian national movement, a senator of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The son of a Belarusian Orthodox priest, he became one of the most recognized intellectual leaders of his nation, a talented writer, a skilled polemicist and a politician. V. Bogdanovich is the author of many different works. Special attention is paid to his articles devoted to the poetry of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas as well as hagiographic studies related to the mission of the Orthodox patrons of Belarus – Anthony, John and Eustafij. The problem of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Poland, which became disastrous for V. Bogdanovich, affected all aspects of his multilateral activities. It also had a direct impact on his description of such topics as “Belarusian spiritual heritage”, “languages of the Orthodox Church”, “the people and the intelligentsia”, “the church and the state”. The last days of V. Bogdanovich’s life were tragic. He was released from Polish detention in September 1939, less than a month later he was arrested in Vilnus by the NKVD and went missing.
