- The author of the article discusses an individual strategy of presenting the image of Dmitry Zhilunovich in the 20th century Belarusian literature (based on a documentary novel “Without an epitaph”). The picture is created by a system of artistic devices which depend on the features of the selected genres. Quotations of archival material, historians’ opinions, friends’ and relatives’ comments and memories built an elementary layer of the text of a documentary.
