W niniejszej pracy obszarem zainteresowań naukowych są procesy dotyczące łączenia usług oraz produktów fizycznych w sektorze przemysłu, a w szczególności w sektorze produkcji maszyn i urządzeń. Na potrzeby prowadzonych rozważań przyjęto autorską definicję badanego zjawiska integracji produktowo-usługowej jako wszelkich usystematyzowanych działań podejmowanych przez przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne, mających na celu zwiększenie zakresu świadczonych usług, tworzących wartość dodaną w dotychczasowej ofercie przedsiębiorstwa zorientowanej na wyroby.
Processes occurring in the global economy, as well as the situation on the local market, often indicate the direction of development of enterprises, which involves making decisions at various levels of management, including the most important, i.e. strategic decisions. In the 21st century, the phenomenon commonly referred to as servitization in the literature has become a fact and it is difficult to disagree with the view that the global economy is largely based on services. Servitization not only means the growing importance of the service sector in the economy, but also the growing importance of service functions in other sectors, including manufacturing sectors. The growing strength of customers' influence on decisions made by enterprises is also an important trigger for extending service activities by manufacturers. Product and service integration is, therefore, the response of manufacturing industries to market challenges and economic needs as well as environmental requirements and the need for own development. In this work product and service integration is defined as any systematized activities undertaken by manufacturing companies to increase the range of services provided to clients that create added value for the customers. The process of transition of production enterprises towards service activities, due to its complexity, requires a systematic and orderly approach. The introduction of innovations in the form of services in a company focused on the production and sale of material products is a big challenge and requires many changes to be carried out in the organization at the technological, organizational as well as cultural and social level. The conducted literature studies have shown that one of the important factors conditioning the success of product and service integration is the commencement of the integration process with a thorough strategic analysis, the results of which will subsequently determine the effectiveness of actions at subsequent stages of the strategic management process: design and implementation of product integration strategies. In this monograph, the author proposes a solution to the research problem concerning the identification of methods and tools of strategic analysis that will allow obtaining information streamlining the process of making strategic decisions in the field of product and service integration. The conducted research and the pronated solution are aimed at filling the gaps in knowledge regarding: • scope and scale of servitization of the machinery manufacturing sector on the example of polish market; • identification and analysis of factors determining decision-making concerning product and service integration and affecting its development in an enterprise; • a systemic approach to strategic analysis aimed at diagnosing the organization and its environment in the context of making strategic decisions regarding product and service integration. The final result of the literature studies and the author’s research is the methodology of strategic analysis for the purposes of product and service integration. The methodology takes into account the key factors determining the process of product and service integration as well as recommendations of methods and tools allowing to obtain information facilitating decision making as well as designing and implementing a manufacturing company strategy based on expanding service activities. - Dostawca treści:
