Zagadnienia prezentowane w niniejszej monografii koncentrują się wokół wielopłaszczyznowej i szczegółowej diagnozy skali przemocy domowej w mieście Częstochowa w latach 2017-2020, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem liczby małoletnich dzieci, kobiet i mężczyzn, którzy doświadczyli przemocy od najbliższej osoby oraz osób zatrzymanych stosujących przemoc w rodzinie. Monografia zawiera trzy obszary problemowe i prowadzi od teoretycznych rozważań nad problemem przemocy, identyfikacji zjawiska problemu przemocy rodzinnej, jej form i rodzajów, przez szerokie studium występowania przemocy w mieście Częstochowa oraz podmiotów podejmujących działania pomocowe na rzecz ofiar przemocy w rodzinie, aż po praktyczne przykłady wspomagania profilaktyki przemocy przez Zakład Gospodarki Mieszkaniowej Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego w Częstochowie. Książka ta stanowi wielowymiarowe studium zjawiska przemocy, ma charakter uniwersalny i może być z powodzeniem wykorzystywana przez badaczy i praktyków różnych specjalności. Monografia przeznaczona jest dla szerokiego kręgu odbiorców. Domestic violence is a phenomenon whose scale is difficult to determine. This is because a large number of cases are not reported by victims. The phenomenon of violence is a complex process that cannot be satisfactorily explained by referring to factors of one kind, e.g. genetic determinants of aggression, or by associating it only with the methods of upbringing in the family. In order to understand the source of violence, one should first of all analyse the circumstances of the victim, including their subjective interpretations, resources, previous experiences of help and their cur- rent life situation. The participants of violence in the family space are as follows: victims: children, older family members, women and, less frequently, men; perpetrators: usually men, women, less often the elderly and children; witnesses: family members, visitors, doc- tors, lawyers, officials, social workers, etc. In domestic violence, it is the victims who experience the greatest humiliation, fear, suffering, helplessness, depression and despair. Acts of aggression mainly concern physically weaker individuals, i.e. most frequently women, children and elderly people. Violence is a very alarming phenomenon to the contemporary family, as its scale is increasing and concerns mostly children and women. Acts of violence occur constantly. All organisations, both at the local government, national and global level, should make efforts to coun- teract this phenomenon. For this reason, the area of counteracting domestic violence is more and more often discussed, and the knowledge is broadened by conducting systematic scientific research and project implementation. There is no single coher- ent theoretical concept explaining the emergence of violence between relatives in the family, it is difficult to see from the outside, and even more so to describe, the con- sequences of a person experiencing domestic violence. The four walls and the obli- gation to remain silent, whether spoken by the perpetrator or not – most often hide the effects of abuse for a long time. Therefore, searching for effective forms of coun- teracting domestic violence and helping its victims is an extremely important activity at every level of human activity. In Poland, more and more professionals and volun- teers, non-governmental organisations and specialised institutions are involved in the fight against family violence, however, there are still no uniform solutions. Thanks to the expansion of social programmes, media campaigns and the growing interest of the scientific world, there has been an increase in the knowledge of do- mestic violence. The consequence of this is a better understanding of the phenome- non of violence and the differentiation of its specific types, e.g. against a child, de- fined by the maltreatment syndrome, violence against the elderly or the disabled, school and partner violence, as well as other forms related to, among others, aggres- sion or self-mutilation. The issues discussed in this monograph allowed not only to analyse the problem of family violence, but also to identify the key causes leading to its formation in the environment of the closest people and the methods and forms of its prevention. On the basis of the presented considerations, both theoretical and empirical, the areas of counteracting violence in the city of Czestochowa that require development and modification, and above all, the possibilities of the municipal administrator of communal housing to engage in violence prevention, were determined. The conducted research shows that the areas of contact of the administrator with the residents allow to confirm the claims that such an entity has special possibilities to take actions aimed at limiting the phenomenon of violence, as if in addition to the basic activity performed. The conducted research, based on theoretical and empirical analysis, emphasizes in particular the importance of qualified staff, appropriate as- signment of responsibilities, but also the need to implement an internal procedure at ZGM TBS in Czestochowa, aimed at appropriate shaping of the behaviour of employees facing the phenomenon of violence. - Dostawca treści:
