    The paper presents an analysis of the ORP Błyskawica ship in World of Warships. The study concerns the retrotopian and mythological image of the replica of a real warship created in the game. The analysis and interpretation touch upon both the model of acquiring ships within the framework of playbour and the very idea of faithfully reproducing a historical artefact. The reflection concerns, therefore, virtual technology employed in the service of nostalgia and of dreams, and as a tool for constructing myths about the glorious past in which military technologies developed. For this purpose, the text introduces a new research category, namely a quasi-historical item.

    Opis:
    The article presents the basic properties of composite materials used for the construction of special ships. Static and dynamic characteristics of materials such as wood and polyester-glass composites are presented. Noteworthy are materials such as surface modified wood and polyester-glass composites with the addition of recyclate. Composite materials are widely used materials for the construction of non-magnetic warships. The article describes the properties of surface modified wood with polymethyl methacrylate and a polyester-glass composite with the addition of recyclate. The recyclate is fragmented, milled polyester-glass scrap. The content of the recyclate greatly affects the mechanical properties of the composite. The properties of the composite with the addition of recyclate depend on the recyclate content as well as the production technology and size of the recycled granulates. The test results showed that the increase in the recycled content causes a decrease in the mechanical properties of the composite. However, it should be remembered that these materials originated from waste, waste that is not subject to self-degradation, which have a very negative impact on the natural environment. At present, where there is a very large pollution of the natural environment, the processing and management of huge amounts of composite waste is an essential goal. A significant amount of recyclate significantly reduces the mechanical properties of the composite; however, the same large amount of recycled material has been transformed and used. The manufactured material and its structural elements are still non-magnetic structures and can be used on a less loaded element. The choice of material for the construction of special ships elements is determined not only by its properties but also by knowledge, experience, method of processing, economic and technical risk.

    Opis:
    The paper presents examples of vibration performances of the naval propulsion systems. It describes the methodology of preparation for measurement, used gauges and their restrictions. The necessity of synchronous measurements had been justified. The work contains also samples of analysis, to facilitate the reader with the components of amplitude-frequency spectra of naval propulsion systems. An overview of the existing normative documents had been presented. At the same time limitations of applying of them during technical monitoring of marine propulsion systems had been presented.
    W artykule przedstawiono przykłady diagnostycznych pomiarów parametrów drganiowych okrętowych linii wałów. Opisano metodologię przygotowania do pomiarów, stosowanie urządzeń pomiarowych oraz ich ograniczenia. Uzasadniono konieczność stosowania pomiarów synchronicznych. Przedstawiono przegląd obowiązujących dokumentów normatywnych, zwracając jednocześnie uwagę na ich ograniczenia w procesie monitorowania stanu technicznego okrętowych układów napędowych.

    Opis:
    Pyrrhus, the ruler of Epirus, led an expedition against the Roman Republic and in defense of Tarentum in 280 B.C. He commanded inadequate and accidentally collected sea forces, as argued by Plutarchos of Cheronea, Pausanias, Appianus, Iunianus Iustinus and Diodorus Siculus. During the crossing to Sicily, Pyrrhus came into confl ict with Carthage, avoided clashing at sea with a larger Punic fleet of 100 ships thanks to a clever maneuver, and entered Syracuse afterwards. At the Grand Harbor, he captured 120 warships (κατάφρακτοι ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι) and 20 ships (ἄφρακτοι εἴκοσι), with his fleet’s strength increasing to more than 200 warships. Despite this accomplishment, Pyrrhus did not gain an operational advantage over the still numerous Carthaginian fleet, with his lack of action aimed at increasing the size of his naval forces preventing the implementation of strategic objectives. The Pyrrhus fleet could not prevent the Roman forces from gaining strength at Rhegium in 279 B.C. or cut Punic reinforcements directedto Lilybaeum in 277 B.C. In the end, the king’s fl eet suff ered a defeat at the naval battle of Messina Straits in 276 B.C.

    PGZ Stocznia Wojenna (PGZ SW) powstała w 2017 roku jako jedna ze spółek zintegrowanych w Polskiej Grupie Zbrojeniowej S.A. Została ona zawiązana w celu przejęcia od zadłużonej i zarządzanej przez syndyka Stoczni Marynarki Wojennej (SMW S.A. w upadłości likwidacyjnej) - zadań mających na celu ochronę podstawowych interesów RP. Stocznia od 1922 roku odpowiedzialna była za zapewnienie produkcji, naprawy oraz serwis okrętów, systemów techniki morskiej oraz pozostałych elementów wyposażenia niezbędnego dla funkcjonowania Marynarki Wojennej RP. Inauguracja działalności operacyjnej PGZ SW miała miejsce 3 stycznia 2018 roku, w dniu przejęcia majątku SMW - przedsiębiorstwa z ponad 95 letnią tradycją. Przepisy ochrony konkurencji i konsumentów regulujące kwestie koncentracji rynku, wymagały zgłoszenia zamiaru dokonania transakcji przejęcia SMW przez PGZ SW do Urzędu ds. Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów (UOKiK). Artykuł wyjaśnia zawiłości prawne związane z procesem przejmowania Stoczni Marynarki Wojennej przez PGZ SW.
    PGZ Naval Shipyard (PGZ SW) was established in 2017 as one of the integrated companies in the Polish Armaments Group S.A. It was formed to takeover from the indebted Naval Shipyard (SMW S.A. in liquidation bankruptcy) – tasks aimed at protecting the basic interests of the Polish state. Since 1922, the shipyard had been responsible for ensuring the production, repair and servicing of ships, marine technology systems and other equipment necessary for the operation of the Polish Navy. PGZ SW's operational activities were inaugurated on January 3, 2018, the day it took over the assets of SMW, an enterprise with a tradition of more than 95 years. The anti-monopoly regulations governing market concentration, required notification of PGZ SW's intention to carry out the SMW acquisition to the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). The article explains the legal complexities involved in the acquisition of the old Polish Naval Shipyard by PGZ. The process has great geopolitical significance since the strengthening of the Polish Navy's combat capabilities depends on its success.

    Великая Северная война ознаменовала упадок старых держав, таких как Швеция или Речь Посполита, и рождение новой - России царя Петр I.
