    Opis:
    The article is devoted to the attitude of writers from the GDR and the FRG to the construction and the fall of the Berlin Wall. The reactions in the RFG were varied, but there prevailed protest and indignation with the situation, whereas the GDR writers mostly supported the action of the authorities. Reactions to the fall of the Wall in 1989 were almost completely opposite: there were the writers from the GDR who responded first and protested against the reunification of Germany, receiving some unexpected support from the FRG writers – former critics of the construction of the Wall. This position should be, among others, explained by the popularity of the idea of the „third way“ among the intellectuals from both German countries, as well as by the attachment to the system of those writers who remained in the GDR until 1989.

    For obvious reasons, literary translation is only marginally present in the general teaching of translation at university level. The interest of both teachers and students naturally focuses on texts of everyday use. However, the specific nature of poetic works, first of all their multidimensionality, makes them an excellent material to sensitise the future translator to diverse linguistic, intertextual and culture-related phenomena which, in a less pronounced form, also occur in non-literary texts. Thus, this article is intended as a plea for the inclusion of poetry in translation teaching.

    W artykule zaproponowano spojrzenie na mur berliński przez pryzmat wybranych filmów fabularnych i dokumentalnych odnoszących się do wydarzeń roku 1989. Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest założenie, że wymiar medialny był szczególnie istotny na końcowym etapie historii muru berlińskiego. Telewizja odegrała ważną rolę między innymi w dokumentowaniu kolejnych etapów przełomu politycznego roku 1989, co odzwierciedlone zostało w analizowanych filmach. Sposoby prezentowania w nich telewizyjnego medium w kontekście upadku muru berlińskiego nie tylko odnoszą się do historycznych okoliczności, w jakich to medium funkcjonowało, lecz także mają symboliczny potencjał, pozwalają bowiem również w murze dostrzec swoiste medium określające niezwykły charakter granicy niemiecko-niemieckiej.
    In this article, Marta Brzezińska-Pająk looks at the Berlin Wall through the prism of selected feature films and documentaries relating to the events of 1989. The starting point of her considerations is the assumption that the media dimension was particularly important at the final stage of the history of the Berlin Wall. Television played an important role, among other things, in documenting the steps leading to the political breakthrough of 1989, as reflected in the films analyzed by Brzezińska-Pająk. The ways in which they present the medium of the television in the context of the fall of the Berlin Wall not only relate to the historical circumstances in which this medium functioned, but also have a symbolic potential in that they allow us to see in this wall a medium of sorts which defined the unusual nature of the German-German border.

    Artykuł analizuje film Bartosza Konopki Królik po berlińsku (2009), który autorka odczytuje jako splot historii ludzkiej i nie-ludzkiej. W tekście zostaje podjęta kwestia potencjału sztuki filmowej w tworzeniu nieantropocentrycznych sposobów widzenia świata. Rozważania przedstawione w artykule odnoszą się do transdyscyplinarnych studiów nad zwierzętami, a szczególnie do subdyscypliny historii, jaką jest historia zwierząt. Przedstawione w filmie wydarzenia związane z powstaniem i upadkiem Muru Berlińskiego, widziane oczami królików, pozwalają autorce na przeprowadzenie interpretacji obrazu z perspektywy posthumanistycznej, akcentującej znaczenie filmowych historii w poszukiwaniu nowych sposobów postrzegania świata, wolnych od ego- i antropocentryzmu.
    The article presents an analysis of Bartosz Konopka’s movie Rabbit à la Berlin (2009), which is interpreted by the author as an manifestation of the entanglement of human and non-human narratives. The text addresses the problem of the potential of film art for creating non-anthropocentric ways of seeing the world. The considerations refer to transdisciplinary animal studies, particularly to animal history as a subfield of history. The events related to the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall, as seen through the eyes of rabbits, allow the author to interpret the picture from a post-humanist perspective, emphasizing the significance of the film storytelling in the search for new ways of perceiving the world, free from human ego- and anthropocentrism.

    Für einen Westdeutschen war es durchaus möglich, während des ‚Kalten Krieges‘ Kontakte zu Kollegen in den sozialistischen Ländern aufzubauen und sogar zu enger und längerfristiger Kooperation zu gelangen. Lediglich die Berliner Mauer und die ‚Zonengrenze‘ waren unüberwindbar, und auch die Grenzen zur Sowjetunion waren dicht. Der Autor berichtet über seine Beziehungen zu Polen, zur Tschechoslowakei, zu Ungarn und zu Rumänien bis zur ‚Wende‘, die alle Schranken aufhob.
    Dla Niemca z RFN nawiązanie w okresie ‚zimnej wojny‘ kontaktów, a nawet ścisłej i długotrwałej współpracy, z kolegami pochodzącymi z państw socjalistycznych nie stanowiło problemu. Jedynie mur berliński i granice między strefami były nie do pokonania, szczelne były również granice Związku Radzieckiego. Autor artykułu opowiada o swoich związkach z Polską, Czechosłowacją, Węgrami i Rumunią do czasu ‚przełomu‘, który zniósł wszelkie bariery.
    In the period of cold war Western Germans could not be prevented from establishing social contacts with colleagues in socialist countries. In the long run, exterior barriers could not endanger firmly established connections based on tolerance and respect. The author’s report deals with the developing relations to Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and even with the Soviet Union and the German Democratic Republic from the late fifties to the turning-point about 1990, when the great change began.
