Humor is in the very center of E. Wurm’s art strategy. He believes that ‘humor is a weapon’. It is the weapon that allows us to see the world and ourselves without pomposity and solemnity masking the real problems. Humor forms the distance to a variety of phenomena, myths and stereo-types which model modern life. Laughter always includes the form of self-distance (H.G. Gadamer). The text analyzes a series of sculpture-events entitled ‘One Minute Sculptures’ and other works by the Austrian artist produced in traditional carving techniques. They include such elements of humor as ludus and locus (G. Agamben). The text also analyzes the artist’s actions that undermine subjective – objective diagram inscribed in creation and art perception (W. Welsch). It is not without significance that Wurm’s humor and irony are not directed only toward his environment, but also toward himself (self-irony).

Dążenie do posiadania rzeczy, będące stałym elementem ludzkiego zachowania, wydaje się u swych źródeł tożsame z dążeniem do zachowania swojego istnienia. Jako takie pełni niedającą się znieść czy zastąpić funkcję budowania pola oddziaływania człowieka w jego otoczeniu. Warunkiem możliwości zaistnienia relacji posiadania jest ludzkie wcielenie, przy czym status samego ciała jest nieokreślony, jako że jest i zarazem nie jest ono rzeczą. W miarę zagłębiania się w złożoność relacji pomiędzy człowiekiem i światem rzeczy, możliwość przeprowadzenia ostrej granicy pomiędzy istotą ludzką, jako taką i tym, co nazywa ona swoim, staje się coraz bardziej wątpliwa. Problem ten pojawia się na poziomie „zewnętrznym”, w sferze międzyludzkiej, gdzie rzeczy są pierwszym źródłem informacji na temat drugiego człowieka, a także na poziomie „wewnętrznym”, czyli w sferze indywidualnej oceny tego, co składa się na moją tożsamość. Jako byty „mocne”, materialne przedmioty posiadania, służą nie tylko samemu właścicielowi w procesie samopoznania, ale stanowiąc obiekty intersubiektywnie postrzegalne, mają one przede wszystkim oddziaływać na otoczenie; jako zmaterializowanie wewnętrznych jakości osoby mają mówić za nią samą.
he article argues that the things we surround ourselves with are ontologically unalienable extensions of our ‘selves’, as they constitute the means through which one’s will becomes realized. Since one’s life takes place among and develops through objects, acquiring material possessions appears to be tantamount to sustaining one’s existence. Ambiguous status of the human body, which possesses the features of an object and yet cannot be reduced to it, is argued to be the precondition of the subject-object connection between man and a thing. It is also through objects that one is able to express their individuality in the society. Gaining self-knowledge is a process which does not take place in a vacuum; it occurs by means of complex relationships with other individuals, who perceive us within the framework of our possessions. The profound interconnection between man and the world of material objects appears to be one the fundamental characteristics of human existence and it seems almost impossible to establish a clear demarcation between a human being and whatever he claims to be his.

The aim of this article is to show which generative mechanisms are responsible for establishing a control relationship between syntactic structures. As a theoretical basis, the Movement Theory of Control by Hornstein was chosen because it has already been tested in numerous languages and has universal character. Its applicability was exemplified by some data of subject and object control in German. For this purpose, some derivations have been outlined. In addition, difficulties that this theory encounters were pointed out. For example, in the derivation of subject control over object, as it exists in the case of promise-verbs.

Polish stylistics of the last twenty years. She is concemed with the subject as the research object (subject in a text, discourse, genre) and as the research subject, which is the author of a scientific text in the stylistic field. She notices the changes have taken place in both of the above cases. In the former, the category of the subject has been redefined (from the grammatical to the personalized conceptualization of this category). In the latter, the transformations covered the objectives and problems of the research process (from analysis to interpretation). Apprehension of the subject as a person revitalized the research on individual styles, and simultaneously significantly broadened the scope of manifestation of what has a specific character in social interactions. Subject-centrism caused that, among other things, the stylistics became the open discipline, establishing a dialogue with other branches of humanities, and at the same time the subject has become an element that integrates various methodologies.

Der Artikel widmet sich der Auslegung des Kapitels Die sinnliche Gewißheit oder das Diese und das Meinen aus Phänomenologie des Geistes von G. W. F. Hegel. Das Ziel ist der Nachweis, das der Dualismus im Subjekt-Objekt-Verhältnis laut Hegel selbst auf dem Niveau des Wissens über sinnliche Individuen problematisch und unberechtigt ist. Eine solche Lesart stimmt meiner Ansicht nach mit den metaphilosophischen Absichten der gesamten Phänomenologie des Geistes überein. Sie beschränkt sich nicht allein darauf, die Unmöglichkeit des unbegrifflichen empirischen Wissens vorzuführen, sondern bezieht sich vor allem auf die Natur der Erkenntnisrelation auf dem elementarsten Erkenntnisniveau. Hegel zeigt, dass jedes Problem, dem die sinnliche Gewissheit begegnet, durch eine richtige Umformung des Subjekt-Objekt-Verhältnisses gelöst werden kann. In den Schlussfolgerungen stellt er fest, dass ein qualitativer Unterschied zwischen Subjekt und Objekt unbegründet ist, und dass es folglich keinen Grund dafür gibt, die Meinungen über die realen und völlig äusseren sinnlichen Objekte zu akzeptieren. Im Endergebnis lehnt er naiven Realismus und die Beschränkungen des Kantischen Phänomenalismus ab.
Interpreted in this paper is Sense-Certainty: Or the ‘This’ and ‘Meaning’, a chapter from G.W.F. Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit. The author seeks to prove that according to Hegel, the dualistic nature of the subject-object relation is problematic and implausible even with knowledge about sensual beings. The author argues that such interpretation is consistent with the metaphilosophical intentions of the whole Phenomenology of Spirit. It is not confined solely to demonstrating the impossibility of non-conceptual empirical knowledge as it relates above all to the nature of epistemic relation on its most fundamental level. Hegel indicated that every problem encountered by sense certainty, can be solved by proper reformulation of the subject-object relation. The author concludes that the qualitative distinction between subject and object is unjustified, and hence there is no reason to accept the notion of real and entirely external sensual objects. Consequently, he rejects naïve realism and constraints of kantian phenomenalism.
Artykuł stanowi interpretację rozdziału Pewność zmysłowa, czyli To Oto i Mniemanie z Fenomenologii ducha G.W.F. Hegla. Celem jest wykazanie, że według Hegla, nawet na poziomie wiedzy o zmysłowych indywiduach, dualizm w relacji podmiotu i przedmiotu jest problematyczny i nieuzasadniony. Takie odczytanie jest, w moim przekonaniu, zgodne z metafilozoficznymi intencjami stojącymi za całością Fenomenologii ducha. Nie ogranicza się ono do demonstracji niemożliwości niepojęciowej wiedzy empirycznej, lecz odnosi się przede wszystkim do natury relacji poznawczej na najbardziej podstawowym poziomie poznania. Hegel pokazuje, że każdy problem, który napotyka pewność zmysłowa, może być rozwiązany poprzez właściwe przeformułowanie relacji podmiotu i przedmiotu. We wnioskach stwierdza, że jakościowa różnica między podmiotem i przedmiotem jest bezpodstawna, i co za tym idzie, nie ma powodu, aby akceptować mniemania o realnych i całkowicie zewnętrznych zmysłowych przedmiotach. W rezultacie, odrzuca naiwny realizm oraz ograniczenia kantowskiego fenomenalizmu.

Latin pontifical and agendas of the Middle Ages confirm a plurality of the blessing texts, a creativity of this liturgical form and, at the same time, people’s hope, which they connected with a sacrifice of people and objects. However, not always have these formulas been connected with the baptismal exorcism liturgy or the exorcisms of demented people. It turns out that they may also be found in the texts of blessing people and objects, which confirm the medieval belief of division the world into a saint and a sinful one. The sinful one needed the purification, and its absolution from sins was often related to an anti-demoniacal thinking. This way of thinking has penetrated into the liturgical books published after the Council of Trent. This article presents the genesis of the convictions mentioned above, which a famous liturgist A. M. Triacca defines as a phenomenon of “enlargement and extension” (di ingrandimento et di estensione) “subject-object” (soggetto-oggetto) of the exorcism. In ancient Christian times, this process is based on passing from exorcising people, who are catechumen and demented by evil spirit, to exorcising objects, for example: water, oil, salt (Tertulian, Orygenes, St. Hipolit, St. Augustine). This process penetrates through the medieval liturgy documents to the modern times and reaches its top in the period of realization the reform of Trent, which results in certain texts confirming the match between the blessing of objects and exorcism formulas. In that period not only are the catechumenate oil, holy anointing oil, holy water, Gregorian water or water used to bless cattle being exorcised, but also incense, bread, Easter palms, oat, radish, rue, ash, medallions and animals such as bees. The last part of the presented article also reminds about exorcisms which, in the period after the Council of Trent, accompanied the blessing of the sick and which, as well as the exorcisms of objects, penetrated to the liturgy books after the second Vatican Council.

Rozprawka niniejsza opisuje główne założenia i problemy młodzieńczej pracy Georga Lukacsa „Historia i świadomość klasowa” ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kwestii rewolucji. Autor koncentruje się przede wszystkim na paradygmatycznym przedstawieniu zagadnienia nie wdając się w analizę historycznych kontekstów tej problematyki. Ten punkt widzenia z kolei w naturalny sposób odsyłać musi do zagadnień stricte filozoficznych takich jak pojęcie „filozoficzności” marksizmu, krytyka pozytywistycznego dziedzictwa problematyki teoriopoznawczej z kontemplacyjnym pojmowaniem procesu historycznego, rola podmiotu w dziejach, wpływ metodologii nauk przyrodniczych na metodologię badań społecznych. Na tle tej problematyki pokazujemy dalej możliwość zmiany społecznej – czyli systemowej rewolucji.
In this paper I aim to examine the implementation of the Marxian programme of intellectually transcending the “philosophicity” of philosophy by the Hungarian Marxist, Georg Lukács. I will analyse the book by Lukács, History and Class Consciousness, which I regard to be the best example of a non-philosophical interpretation of Marxism. This fact is the source of the legend of this book, a legend that attributes to the fieriness of revolutionary enquiries as the direct expression of a particular, equally revolutionary historical situation. Let us consider the book, however, not from the point of view of its legend, but from the angle of its current, contemporary content. ‘Commodity fetishism’ is doubtlessly the most important problem to which Lukács devotes much of his attention in this book. All the remaining contents of the book, in fact, result from analysis of this central problem. In particular, the question of subjective-objective identity, with all the consequences it has for the revolutionary movement, directly stems from description of the phenomenon of commodity fetishism and alienation. Let us note that Marks`s thought proceeded along similar lines, recognizing reification and alienation as the social basis for divisions into being and thinking, theory and its object, etc.

Jeep cut in “ford”, or Does the grammatical category of animateness / inanimateness exist in Russian?The purpose of the article is to clarify the concept of grammatical category of animateness / inanimateness in Russian. After analyzing the history of the study of this category and the history of its development, the author concludes that the grammatical category of animateness, despite its name, is intended to mark not living objects, but objects with a potential of activity. The main function of this category is to distinguish nominative and accusative cases in such sentences as modern informal Russian Dzhip podrezal “ forda” (Jeep cut in “Ford”), where without such а distinguishing feature it could be unclear which of these two nouns is the subject and which is the object. Jeep zajechał drogę „fordowi”, albo Czy w języku rosyjskim istnieje gramatyczna kategoria żywotności / nieżywotności?Celem artykułu jest rozjaśnienie natury gramatycznej kategorii żywotności /nieżywotności w języku rosyjskim. Po przeanalizowaniu historii badań nad tą kategorią oraz historii jej rozwoju autor dochodzi do wniosku, że wbrew swojej nazwie gramatyczna kategoria żywotności charakteryzuje określenia nie żywych istot, a obiektów potencjalnie aktywnych. Podstawową funkcją tej kategorii jest odróżnienie form mianownika i biernika w takich zdaniach, jak Dżip podriezał „forda” (Jeep zajechał drogę „fordowi”) we współczesnym potocznym języku rosyjskim, gdzie w przeciwnym wypadku nie byłoby jasne, który z tych dwóch rzeczowników jest podmiotem, a który orzeczeniem.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę etycznej ocena procedur sztucznego zapłodnienia z punktu widzenia koncepcji czynu wewnętrznie złego, stanowiącej przewodni temat encykliki Jana Pawła II Veritatis splendor. Odpowiedź na pytanie, czy sztuczna prokreacja jest z punktu widzenia przedmiotu czynem wewnętrznie złym, jest warunkiem adekwatnej oceny argumentów podnoszonych tak przez zwolenników jak i przeciwników metod sztucznej prokreacji. W artykule został poddany analizie przedmiot czynu, określony jako zabieg sztucznego zapłodnienia oraz wpływ okoliczności leżących po stronie podmiotowej na jego etyczną ocenę.
The article is an attempt at ethical evaluation of the artificial fertilisation procedures from the perspective of absolutely inwardly wrong act- the conception which is the main theme of Veritatis splendor- the encyclical by John Paul II. The answer for the question if the artificial procreation is an act- from the perspective of the subject- inwardly wrong is necessary for adequate evaluation of arguments exercised by followers as well as opponents of the artificial procreation methods. The subject matter of the act which is determined as artificial fertilisation and the impact of circumstances- which lay on its subjective side- on its ethical evaluation have been analyzed in the article.

The article investigates the use of pronouns to express subjects and objects in early acquisition of German as a foreign language. The main goal of the investigation is to shed some light on the process of development of information structure in the minds of young learners of a foreign language. The study investigates longitudinal data from children who were exposed to German in a school setting from the age of 7 or 9. The results of the empirical study show that children acquiring German in a school setting use a relatively high number of pronouns for subjects, but they rarely use pronouns to express objects. The pedagogical implication for developing an optimal outline for foreign language teaching in early childhood is the necessity to pay more attention to the development of pragmatic and discourse skills of children learning a foreign language.

Light verbs are generally considered on semantic grounds: Light verbs are contrasted with predicative verbs because the former lack argument structure. In this paper, I argue that light verbs should rather be considered on syntactic grounds, i.e., in terms of the structure of the sentence. From this point of view, light verbs highlight the central property of verbs tout court: namely, to construct a VP. In § 1, I argue that only on this basis can light and predicative verbs be consistently contrasted. In §§ 2 and 3, I address the question of the structure of a VP with a light verb. In § 4, I address the question of the relationship between argument structure and semantic richness.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to analyse the evidential meanings encoded by selected Polish verbs of perception. Evidentiality is a category whose primary function is to mark the speaker’s source of information on which his/her claim is based; this may be direct observation/experience, inference from observable data, general knowledge, someone’s report, or other types of evidence. Cross-linguistically, the category of evidentiality may be defined narrowly as marking of the information source only by strictly grammatical means; alternatively, evidentiality may be understood broadly as marking of the information source plus additional epistemic values, and this can be done through grammatical and/or lexical means. The present paper adopts the latter understanding of evidentiality; within this broadened view, evidential strategies can be discussed more holistically. Perception verbs in Polish may be divided into different subgroups; from the evidential perspective, the division into object-oriented and subject-oriented verbs provides the most significant contrast to consider the problem of which forms of perception verbs encode evidential meanings. The next problem to be addressed is which evidential values are encoded by these forms. It is usually the speaker’s direct perceptual experience that is indicated by perception verbs; however, certain forms may encode indirect information sources, such as inference or someone’s report.

Podejmowany w artykule temat podkreśla znaczenie antropologiczno-aksjologiczne i pedagogiczne oraz podmiotowe budowania relacji z uczniem, a także traktowania go jako podmiot i przedmiot oddziaływań wychowawczych, dydaktycznych itd. W kontekście podejmowanej problematyki pojawia się także specyficzne rozumienie przedmiotowego odniesienia do osoby, które niczego jej nie umniejsza jako wartości najwyższej. Analizując zagadnienie podmiotowości, nie można pominąć znaczenia norm i zasad moralnych stanowiących podstawę postępowania nauczyciela wobec ucznia. Są one budowane na fundamencie aksjologicznym, reprezentują określoną koncepcję wartości, hierarchię i ich system uznawany przez nauczyciela, który w swojej relacji z uczniem w mniejszym bądź większym stopniu kieruje się własnym światopoglądem moralnym. Można więc stwierdzić, że stosowane przez niego normy i zasady moralne wyrażają jego realną postawę moralną wobec wartości, wskazują na jakość wartościowania dokonywanych wyborów i podejmowanych decyzji. Dlatego też na podstawie stosowanych przez niego norm i zasad moralnych można ocenić, czy dane postępowanie ma wymiar podmiotowy oraz czy sięga źródła podmiotowości jego sprawcy i twórcy, który w sposób podmiotowy odnosi się do przedmiotu swoich działań, czyli ucznia. Rozumienie przedmiotowego traktowania ucznia nie deprecjonuje jego godności. Do opracowania przedstawionego materiału zastosowano metodę analityczno-syntetyczną i heurystyczną. Jest odpowiedzią na problem badawczy zawarty w pytaniu: Jak przedstawia się rozumienie podmiotowo-przedmiotowego traktowania ucznia z perspektywy antropologiczno-pedagogicznej zdeterminowanej aksjologicznie? Odpowiedź na nie znajduje wyraz w analizie podejścia podmiotowego i przedmiotowego do ucznia w działalności nauczyciela budującego osobową relację z uczniem.
The matter of subjectivity in a teacher’s attitude to students who are treated as subjects and objects reveal anthropological, axiological and pedagogical points of view. The article aims to show these points of view in the subjective building of the relationship between teacher and pupil who is the subject-object of upbringing, didactic etc. activities oriented towards him/her. This context elicits the specific meaning of object reference to a person who does not lower her values – the highest one among others. It stresses the necessity of hard work upon both teacher’s and students’ moral character that is grounded in values and virtues. That is why, analyzing the issues of subjectivity, one cannot omit the meaning of moral norms and principles fundamental to a teacher’s acts which are directed to a pupil. These acts of doing express the teacher’s real moral approach to values as well as indicating the quality of valuing the choices and decisions. The moral norms and principles deployed in activities taken by him/her enable the assessment of whether a particular act of doing has a subjective dimension and if it is embedded in the subjectivity source of his/her maker and creator, who in a subjective way refers to the object of his/her acts – the student. Thus, as it is depicted, understanding the student’s objective treatment does not depreciate his/her dignity. The material presented in the article highlights the analytical- synthetic and heuristic method used in the theoretical research. It is a reply to the research problem that is latent in the question – How is the understanding of the subject-object student’s treatment presented from the anthropological – pedagogical perspective determined axiologically? The answer is reflected in the analysis of the subjective and objective approach to the student in the teacher’s activity that is oriented towards building a personal interaction with the student

The current taxation of personal incomes is a very complex phenomenon which should be analyzed not only from the legal point of view, but also taking into account into social, cultural, economic and political and system aspects. We cannot isolate the economic sphere from the tax sphere, as income taxes directly affect the way taxpayers function, their purchasing power, they determine labor costs for entrepreneurs and thus significantly infl uence the GDP growth rate. The issues of harmonizing taxation of incomes obtained by individuals who do not act as economic operators is practically absent in scientifi c literature. The only issues that are analyzed are those related to taxation of incomes from savings, transfers, capital gains, mergers and divisions. This is so because it is required by the nature of conducting economic operations within the common market.
