Opis:
The article presents the view that the introduction of the personalistic paradigm into entrepreneurship will enable integral economic growth and remove the causes of today’s crisis, that is economism and instrumental rationality. Personalism, which recognizes man as a conscious person experiencing self and others, has special qualities for application. This is the most useful approach to philosophical and ethical analysis of the modern enterprise. In this article the focus is on a company managed according to personalistic ethics. Entrepreneurship in the personalistic approach is the art of management, which increases the area of common good.

Opis:
This article presents a reflection on the education of business leaders. The analy-sis was based on the phenomenological tradition. The phenomenological ap-proach to teaching is a help in revealing the horizons of individuals – persons, not filling them up, e.g. empowering them. These teaching aids should include certain patterns – for the development of a person, not degradation. Unfortunate-ly, training of business leaders is still based on instrumental rationality: academ-ic teaching is more focused on the transfer of knowledge and less on developing the creativity of students. The phenomenological approach postulates that teach-ing should be more focused on fostering creativity. Two stages are important in the teaching process: cognitive and creative. The first step is to explore pre-existing knowledge, the second triggers the creative potential of the student. The ‘3i’ formula is a method which allows for the combination of both steps and the formation of a creative reality.

The article presents an analysis with the method of phenomenological praxeology of two concepts of entrepreneurship: the nineteenth-century concept of Leon Harmel and that of J.-Robert Ouimet. The ontological-ontic coherence functions as the main practical directive of phenomenological praxeology, according to which it is necessary to preserve the ontological-ontic coherence of management in order to ensure the high efficiency of an enterprise and high level of ethics in its command structures. The analysis leads to the conclusion that Harmel’s and Ouimet’s concepts, based on promoting dignity and servant leadership, ensure the ontological--ontic coherence of management and can be seen as a model (as a paradigm) of ethical entrepreneurship.

In the humanitarian field, conventional institutions and existing institutes of knowledge give place to the paradoxical experience of knowing the obvious reality by means of art. This non-discursive experience does not have access to the sphere of linguistic forms and paradigms; however, it receives a logistic embodiment in the word that can be heard in real time. It is the task of phenomenological linguistics to learn the motives and reflexes of the invaluable experience of a person’s meeting with the true reality embodied in the living word. The article addresses the issue of the orthodox inconsistency of traditional linguistics in understanding linguistic essences. Phenomenology paves the way for an antinomical study of the language, supplementing the existing paradigms of analysis with its characteristic principles. In the light of the principle of simultaneity, the meaning of derivations characteristic of linguistic creativity becomes accessible, not excluding mythology.

Opis:
Freedom as a subject of academic research in psychology has always been confined to a space regarded as difficult to explore. Since the beginning of psychology as a branch of science, the discussion of freedom has been fragmented. The adoption of a specific repertoire of methodological and philosophical assumptions has ignited interest in the topic and issues of freedom. The history of freedom being present in psychology is an ongoing struggle between different paradigms regarding the nature of this subject and its associated methods of examination. During the nineties of the last century, there was a shaping of the direction referring to the achievements of humanistic psychology, as emphasizing the importance of subjective human experience. The authors of this approach, taking care of a methodological workshop and conducting a series of empirical studies, have proposed a new approach to the study of freedom in psychology. The most important achievement of the phenomenological-contextual approach was to draw attention to the possibility of exploring in scientific research the phenomenon of freedom in psychology that has been rejected as a matter of the intersection of science and philosophy.

Opis:
Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) is a recently developed qualitative approach, not only in psychology but also in pedagogy. It turns out that not all IPA studies meet the indicated criteria of acceptability developed by Jonathan A. Smith (2011). The aim of this article is to present a set of criteria to evaluate IPA papers and to provide high-quality future research. The article is divided into three parts: first, I am going to focus on indicating limitations of pedagogical research in which IPA was used, later I shall go on to give examples of good practice. In the last section, I have correlated particular stages of research with the criteria of validity to show what makes IPA study excellent. I also formulate two main requisites for making high-quality IPA study.

The work begins by asking the questions of how contemporary phenomenology is concerned with music, and how phenomenological descriptions of music and musical experiences are helpful in grasping the concreteness of these experiences. I then proceed with minor findings from phenomenological authorities, who seem to somehow need music to explain their phenomenology. From Maurice Merleau-Ponty to Jean-Luc Nancy and back to Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger, there are musical findings to be asserted. I propose to look at phenomenological studies of the musical aspects of existence as they appear in various philosophical works bringing together different accounts of music and aesthetics and pointing towards phenomenological study as a methodology for everyday aesthetics. While there are many different areas of music phenomenology such as studies of sound and listening, studies in perception of musical works, in experience of artistic creation, in singing and playing musical instruments, and phenomenology of transcendent or religious horizons of the experience of music, it is most promising—I suggest—to look at phenomenological studies of music from the perspective of everyday happenings and discoveries of musical aspects of life. Thus, I attempt to display the uses of phenomenology in finding musical aspects of everyday existence as well as in describing and illuminating the art of music. A look at Roman Ingarden’s and Mikel Dufrenne’s most intuitive and promising ideas will be broadened with a perspective from Don Ihde and Arnold Berleant.

To compare Guardini’s method with medieval philosophy as taught by Thomas Aquinas and others. Citing G. van Rieta, the paper attempts to show that Thomism should be continued today, drawing on contemporary philosophy, the phenomenological method in particular. This is a reliable way to see what Christianity is in itself, in its specific religious character.

This paper undertakes the issue of how the organizational culture of a certain institution is being experienced by reconstructing the leading themes coming from auto-observation and descriptions of it. Still, instead of investigating how it is perceived or how its values are verbalized, the study referring to the actual experiencing of certain spaces, social relations, as well as how these are being conceptually embraced therein has been undertaken. To do so, phenomenological methodology and the analysis of qualitative data-adjusted to the research framework at hand-have been employed. Throughout the observation of bodily and mind responses, the lived experience under scrutiny has been given a leading role in regards to determining whether and how the research preconceptualizations should be superseded by the perceptions of the organizational reality under study, as seen and experienced by those who actively partake in the institution at hand. This research refers to how the University is being experienced by the students of one of its degree courses.

The aim of this article is to incorporate visuality into the theory of the social world as it was proposed in the interpretative sociology. The text consists of three parts. In the first, the authors present basic assumptions of the social world phenomenological theory. The second, elucidates the concept of visuality - the underpinnings of the chosen contexts of building and unifying the social worlds' visual aspects that are presented in the foregoing article. The last, opens to scrutiny the examples of processes in which the visuality becomes a pretext for gainsaying the intersubjectivity of social worlds and therefore, relates to the opposite phenomenon. The theoretical and exemplifying endeavors undertaken in the article may constitute an introduction to further, more complex analyses.

In his post-doctoral dissertation Přirozený svět jako filosofický problém (The Natural World as a Philosophical Problem; orig. publ. 1936) Jan Patočka critically deals with modern metaphysics of subjectivity, at the same time introducing phenomenology with its phenomenological reduction. I would like to investigate this issue in the text just mentioned and briefly compare the similarities and differences in Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology. Patočka provides a deepening of phenomenology by approaching the ontological conditions for the phenomenological reduction in the negativity of freedom in which the spontaneity of ‘having-the-world’ originates.

Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis
Opis:
This paper examines some of the key cultural concepts and relevant historical factors that may shape the development of Anglo-Cypriot gay identity. Accounts of sexual identity experiences provided by second generation Greek and Turkish Cypriot gay men in London are examined in the light of this analysis to explore how these men negotiate Anglo-Cypriot and gay identity. Twenty-eight self-identified second generation Greek and Turkish gay men living in London were recruited by advertising in the gay press, by writing to community groups, and gay groups and organizations and by “snowballing.” In-depth face-to-face interviews were conducted with those men recruited through these channels. Data were subjected to interpretative phenomenological analysis. The personal accounts of these men demonstrate that their sexual identity does not always become their primary identity and that different identities are constructed by individuals at different places and times. Most men indicated that the translation of their sexual desires and behaviors into the “political statement” of gay identity is not only difficult but is strongly resisted. Instead they chose to construct their identity in terms of their relationships with their families, their peers at work and other members of their community. The findings of this research may help develop an understanding of the complexities surrounding the “sexual and cultural” identities of Anglo-Cypriot gay men, thereby reinforcing the notion that identity is multiple, contested and contextual.
