This article demonstrates the results of the educational project “Word Art Awareness,” which was established in some primary schools in a metropolitan environment (Lodz, Poland). The aim of the study was to identify 8 – 9 and 9 – 10-year-old children’s knowledge of the following topic: target domain of the metaphorical mapping (JOY, SADNESS, LOVE, HATRED, FEAR) as well as childlike metaphorical accomplishments related to identification of similarities and diff erences between destination domain and source metaphor domain through the process of educational environment construction. In designed didactical intervention operations, research data resulted from participant observation, focus interview, and children’s production analysis (graphical visualization, paired-associate learning tasks and tests of unfinished tasks). Research findings show children’s preferences related to the translation of one metaphor discipline through another one as well as construction strategies related to children’s knowledge about the emotional aspect and feelings. Moreover, findings suggest the need for a broader understanding of educational environments in Polish educational culture.

Opis:
This paper will present the results of a study of an educational project on visual metaphors in children’s initiated discourse. The purpose of the study was to identify children’s metaphorical skills in recognizing similarities and noticing differences between the target domain and the source domain of visual metaphor in Iwona Chmielewska’s artistic picture book Two People, dedicated to the issue of community. In the designed didactic intervention activities, the research material came from participant observation, focus interviews and analysis of children’s creations (graphic visualizations). The research was carried out with a group of third-graders in selected elementary schools, in a metropolitan environment. The results of the research show children’s preferences for translating one area of metaphor by another, as well as strategies for constructing children’s knowledge about life in the community. In addition, they point to the need to expand the educational environment in Polish educational culture.
W artykule przedstawione zostaną wyniki badań projektu edukacyjnego poświęconego metaforom wizualnym w zainicjowanym dyskursie dziecięcym. Celem badania było rozpoznanie dziecięcych umiejętności metaforyzacyjnych w zakresie rozpoznawania podobieństw i dostrzegania różnic pomiędzy domeną docelową a domeną źródłową metafory wizualnej w artystycznej książce obrazkowej Iwony Chmielewskiej Dwoje ludzi, poświęconej problematyce wspólnoty. W zaprojektowanych dydaktycznych działaniach interwencyjnych materiał badawczy pochodził z obserwacji uczestniczącej, wywiadów fokusowych oraz analizy wytworów dziecięcych (wizualizacje graficzne). Badania zostały zrealizowane w grupie trzecioklasistów w wybranych szkołach podstawowych, w środowisku wielkomiejskim. Wyniki badań pokazują dziecięce preferencje w zakresie tłumaczenia jednej dziedziny metafory przez drugą oraz strategie konstruowania wiedzy dzieci o życiu we wspólnocie. Ponadto wskazują na potrzebę rozszerzenia środowiska edukacyjnego w polskiej kulturze edukacji.

In the context of contemporary reality, the issue of multicultural education is becoming more and more popular. Therefore, the purpose of the article is two-fold: to discuss Banks’ vve dimensions of multicultural education and to share some ideas on how these dimensions are or can be used to assist teachers in integrating multicultural content into their primary foreign language classrooms. Moreover, one section of the paper is devoted to the vgure of Professor James. A Banks, who is widely regarded as a founder of multicultural education. Moreover, the professor’s own rewections on the dimensions of interest expressed in the interview conducted by Tucker in 1998 are presented. Finally, having recognised the importance of early multicultural education, the author of the article concludes that primary foreign language teachers should not hesitate and encourages them to start preparing their students to become unbiased global citizens.

Celem artykułu jest próba identyfikacji procesu społecznej konstrukcji wiedzy w cyberprzestrzeni i oceny jego implikacji dla rozwoju technologicznie zapośredniczonego społeczeństwa. W prowadzonej przez autora analizie problemu znajdujemy odwołania do koncepcji konstruktywizmu społecznego i społeczeństwa sieci. Wnioski płynące z tekstu kierują uwagę ku problemom związanym z kreowaniem alternatywnych koncepcji rzeczywistości społecznej w cyberprzestrzeni stanowiących potencjalne zagrożenia dla społecznego porządku, nowych źródeł władzy w sieci, a także cyfrowych podziałów społecznych. Artykuł jest przyczynkiem do dalszej dyskusji o systemie edukacji w warunkach zmian społecznych będących następstwem szybkiego rozwoju technologicznego.
The purpose of the article is to identify the process of social construction of knowledge in cyberspace and to assess its implications for further development of technology-based society. There could be found references to the concepts of social constructivism and network society in the taken analysis. The conclusions of the paper direct attention on problems connected with alternative social realities creation in cyberspace which could bring prospective threatens to social order, a new sources of power in network, as well as digital divides. The article is a vital contribution to the debate on education system in the conditions of social changes implicated by rapid technological development.

In this paper, I want to start with a short sketch on the development of the German sociology of knowledge which has been quite successful in the last decade. Thus success is very much due to its orientation to the “Social Construction of Reality”. Its reception led first to research on language and then to a turn from language to communication which led into what came to be called communicative constructivism. This turn took very much an empirical form, so that we shall sketch the programme implicit in the empirical movement leading to communicative constructivism. Before we address the general sociological background for this movement, i.e. communication society and refiguration, we shall outline its major theoretical features which distinguish communicative constructivism from its predecessor, social constructivism.

Dzisiejsza gospodarka często jest określana gospodarką opartą na wiedzy, co implikuje duży wpływ wspomnianego zasobu na podmioty gospodarcze. Zagadnienie to rzadko jest badane w branżach „klasycznych”, takich jak budownictwo. Niniejsza publikacja ma na celu częściowe zapełnienie tej luki badawczej. W artykule wykorzystano wyniki empirycznego badania ilościowego, w którym zbadano 130 przedsiębiorstw budowlanych działających na terenie Polski. Odkryto, że dwie zmienne – ogólna intensywność pozyskiwania zewnętrznej wiedzy przez przedsiębiorstwa budowlane, a także liczba wykorzystywanych przez nie zewnętrznych źródeł wiedzy są pozytywnie skorelowane z poziomem ich konkurencyjności. Uwzględniając przeciętnie niską intensywność pozyskiwania zewnętrznej wiedzy w budownictwie, rozwój tych działań może być relatywnie prostą receptą na sukces.
Today’s Economy is often called knowledge based economy what implies large influence of mentioned resource on companies. This issue is rarely examined in “classic” industries such as construction industry. This article is going to partially fill this research gap. In the article results of empirical, quantitative research were used, in which 130 construction companies operating in Poland were examined. The research results show that two variables – external knowledge gain intensity by construction companies and number of external knowledge sources they use are positively correlated with competitive position of these firms. The construction industry is characterized by limited resources and a high level of competition. Limited resources and a competitive environment determine knowledge and information as a particularly important resource for the development of the construction industry. A communication network is one of the elements of a knowledge management system in projects and serves to organize and maintain information links between project participants. We have analysed the communication network between project participants for residential building construction using social network analysis (SNA). The purpose of this work is the calculation and analysis centrality measures for participants in the construction project delivery. Centrality measures can answer the following questions whether the node is influential or central to the network and whether the node is critical for the flow of information in the network.

Tekst stanowi próbę wskazania na możliwości analityczne, jakie daje koncepcja społecznego tworzenia rzeczywistości w odniesieniu do zjawiska homoseksualizmu w Polsce. Wskazano w nim także na ważny z perspektywy dyskursu poradoznawczego obszar, jakim jest praca z osobami homoseksualnymi oraz osobami, których bliscy mają homoseksualną orientację seksualną. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej przedstawiony został stosunek polskiego prawa i Polaków do homoseksualizmu. Na podstawie raportów z badań (przeprowadzanych m.in. przez takie instytucje jak Centrum Badań Opinii Społecznej czy Centrum Badań nad Uprzedzeniami) oraz z wykorzystaniem mediów przedstawiono zarówno przejawy homofobii czy dyskryminacji, jak i tolerancji wobec osób homoseksualnych. W drugiej części autorka wskazuje na możliwości analityczne, jakie daje koncepcja społecznego tworzenia rzeczywistości w odniesieniu do sytuacji homoseksualizmu w Polsce. Wskazano tu na pytania, jakie można zadać z perspektywy tej teorii, przyglądając się zjawisku homoseksualizmu na terenie Polski. Trzecia część porusza obszar niesienia pomocy osobom homoseksualnym i ich bliskim w sytuacji poradniczej. Autorka odnosi się tu zarówno do zadań, jakie stawia przed doradcą spotkanie z osobą homoseksualną czy jej bliskimi w sytuacji poradniczej, jak i do postrzegania samej sytuacji poradniczej z perspektywy koncepcji Bergera i Luckmanna. Tekst stanowi wstęp do dalszych badań społecznego stanu wiedzy na temat homoseksualizmu i możliwej zmiany rzeczywistości.
The text attempts to indicate the analytical possibilities offered by the concept of the social construction of reality in relation to the phenomenon of homosexuality in the context of Poland. It also points to an important area from the perspective of the counselling discourse, which is the work with homosexual people and people whose relatives have a homosexual sexual orientation. The article consists of three parts. The first one presents the attitude of Polish law and Poles towards homosexuality. Based on reports from research (conducted for example by such institutions as the Centre for Social Opinion Research or the Centre for Research on Prejudice) and the media, both manifestations of homophobia or discrimination and tolerance towards homosexual people are presented. In the second part, the author points to the analytical possibilities offered by the concept of the social construction of reality in relation to the situation of homosexuality in Poland. The questions that can be asked from the perspective of this theory when looking at the phenomenon of homosexuality in Poland are indicated here. The third part deals with the area of providing help to homosexual people and their relatives in a counseling situation. The author refers here both to the tasks that a counsellor has to face when meeting a homosexual person or his relatives in a counselling situation and to the perception of the counselling situation itself from the perspective of Berger and Luckmann’s concept. The text is an introduction to further research into the social state of knowledge about homosexuality and possible changes in reality.

Termin „zasady wiedzy technicznej” został zastąpiony szeroko rozumianym pojęciem „sztuki budowlanej”. Obecnie te dwa terminy są stosowane przez prawników zamiennie. Osoby wykonujące samodzielne funkcje techniczne w budownictwie zobowiązane są do stosowania wiedzy technicznej w zakresie koniecznym do zaprojektowania, wykonania i eksploatacji danego obiektu budowlanego. Warunkiem uzyskania uprawnień budowlanych jest zdanie egzaminu ze znajomości procesu budowlanego oraz umiejętności praktycznego zastosowania wiedzy technicznej.
Principles of technical knowledge in the construction sector and construction art. The term „principles of technical knowledge” replaced the term „construction art”. Currently, these two terms are used by lawyers interchangeably. Persons performing independent construction and operations of a given building. The conditio for obtaining building qualifications is passing an exam in the knowledge of the construction process and the prfactical application of technical knowledge.

This implies a need for a tool to record experiences and potential innovations. Such a tool might be a Knowledge Map. This article presents the concept of a Knowledge Map for a construction firm.

The idea of living in a world seems to be obvious. Only a skeptical person would deny that we live in one, or that we are able to say it. And it is precisely because of skepticism that the existence and knowledge about the external world has been a recurring topic in the history of philosophy. Nelson Goodman has confronted this problem and has offered a constructivist and pluralist solution. This article explains these key points of Goodman's epistemology, as well as his ontological pluralism. Subsequently, I explain how, according to the author, these philosophical positions would imply a reconception of classical concepts of philosophy. Finally, I criticize the Goodmanian thesis that we can live in different worlds simultaneously and reconsider the problem from the perspectivist approach of the authors Manuel Liz, Margarita Vázquez and Antti Hautamäki.  
La idea de vivir en un mundo parece ser obvia. Solamente una persona escéptica negaría que vivimos en uno, o siquiera que podamos afirmarlo. Y precisamente por el escepticismo es que la existencia y el conocimiento del mundo exterior ha sido un tópico recurrente en la historia de la filosofía. Nelson Goodman se ha enfrentado a este problema y ha ofrecido una solución constructivista y pluralista. En este artículo se explican estos puntos clave de la epistemología de Goodman, así como su pluralismo ontológico. Posteriormente, se explica como estas posturas filosóficas implicarían, de acuerdo con el autor, una reconcepción de conceptos clásicos de la filosofía. Finalmente, someto a crítica la tesis goodmaniana de que podamos vivir en mundos distintos simultáneamente y reconsidero el problema desde el enfoque perspectivista de los autores Manuel Liz, Margarita Vázquez y Antti Hautamäki.

Opis:
Opisano sposób nauczania projektowania firmy budowlanej z wykorzystaniem mapy wiedzy. Z badań przeprowadzonych wśród studentów wynika, że mapa może mieć zastosowanie w miejscu pracy. Wyznaczono kierunek dalszych badań nad doskonaleniem przyjętej koncepcji nauczania.
This article describes a method of teaching construction firm design making use of a knowledge map. Research carried out among students has shown that such a map can be of use in the workplace. A direction is defined for further study aimed at further improving the adopted teaching concept.
