This article discusses the problem of responsibility in Ezekiel 18:21-28. In the first part of the article, the author presents the principle of collective responsibility in ancient Israel. The second part shows the teaching of the prophet Ezekiel, who contrasts the former universally applicable principle of collective responsibility with his completely novel concept of individual responsibility. According to this new principle, everyone is personally responsible for his own behavior. A sinner can save his life by converting and entering on the path of a real spiritual life. For centuries the Catholic Church has interpreted Ezekiel’s encouragement to convert as an indirect invitation for the modern listener to be open to Christ.

Collective defence and individual (human) security are not necessarily two sides of the same coin, they are often two different currencies where it is almost impossible to calculate their real exchange rate and value. Current civil-military relationships often fall short of what is needed to meet emerging human security needs. We are confident that the positive interactions of civil-military actors help build resiliency. Human rights and human needs play a significant role in building resiliency. We call for the re-invention of civil defence as the holistic concept of individual responsibility and collective action. We need human-centered defence policy and planning, teaching, and practice. We need strong states to stand behind the civil defence concept that merges policy and strategy with local actors. Security is an individual responsibility and a collective activity that requires all elements of society to ensure success. Security cannot be outsourced to the military, nor any single civilian institution.

Głównym celem artykułu była próba sproblematyzowania fenomenu odpowiedzialności bytu zbiorowego. Zadanie to okazało się wielce złożone ze względu na obowiązujące, a właściwie dominujące powszechnie przekonanie (w świadomości prawno-polityczno-gospodarczej) o absolutnej fundamentalności odpowiedzialności jednostkowej, zamykające jakąkolwiek refleksję nad odpowiedzialnością bytu zbiorowego, która to refleksja mogłaby zniszczyć jedno z najcenniejszych osiągnięć ludzkiej myśli, jaką jest niewątpliwie idea odpowiedzialności moralnej bytu ludzkiego. Z drugiej jednak strony zmiany następujące z coraz większą gwałtownością zarówno w charakterze oraz strukturze społeczeństw, jak i relacjach społecznych, stanowiących o nowym jego obliczu, wskazują, że przy wzrastającej sile oddziaływania mocy sprawczej wielkich organizacji (zarówno tych publicznych, jak i prywatnych) nie sposób dzisiaj nie podjąć refleksji nad nowym wymiarem odpowiedzialności, tj. odpowiedzialności bytu zbiorowego. Artykuł jest zatem próbą pokazania kierunków poszukiwań nowego zjawiska, przy założeniu nienaruszalności fenomenu odpowiedzialności jednostkowej.
The main objective of the paper is to address the problem of responsibility of a collective being. This task has proven to be very complex due to the conviction which is currently dominant (in legal, political and economic consciousness): that of absolutely fundamental individual responsibility that closes any reflection on the responsibility of a collective being which could destroy one of the undoubtedly most valuable achievements of human thought: the idea of moral responsibility of a human being. However, the increasingly rapid changes both in the nature and structure of societies, and in social relations, which are its new face, show that with the increasing impact and power of large organizations (public and private alike), one has to reflect on a new dimension of responsibility, i.e. the responsibility of a collective being. The paper is therefore an attempt to show research directions of the new phenomenon, without questioning the inviolability of individual responsibility.

Social responsibility is a multidimensional construct which manifests itself in many areas of human life – in both the private and professional spheres. In business, people’s individual attitudes are often the starting point for organizational activities. Even the most ethical business behavior, if not matched by changes on the part of individuals, will not create a change on a larger scale. Thus, personal social responsibility can be defined as a key element of corporate social responsibility (CSR), because the implementation of this idea in business depends on the behavior of the individuals working in the company. The main purpose of the article is to investigate published knowledge concerning the concept of personal or individual social responsibility (PSR or ISR) and the personal or individual social responsibility scale. The authors made a systematic literature review, analyzing full-text scholarly articles published between 2000 and 2021. International databases and journal libraries – EBSCO, JSTOR, Mendeley, Wiley Online Library, Web of Science, and Scopus – were searched using the logical phrases “personal social responsibility,” “individual social responsibility,” “personal social responsibility scale,” and “individual social responsibility scale.” The analysis shows that the concept of individual/personal social responsibility is considered in the literature in various contexts, though few works are available on this concept and even fewer describe its indicators. Using keywords relevant to the area, 14 publications were selected for analysis. This leads to the conclusion that there is a research gap in this area, which the authors intend to fill in the course of further research.

Artykuł jest zatem próbą porównania fenomenu odpowiedzialności w ujęciu liberałów oraz komunitarian. Zawarte w tekście rozważania prowadzą autorkę do wniosku, iż oba te stanowiska odmiennie postrzegają fenomen odpowiedzialności; liberalizm, koncentrując się nieomal wyłącznie na jego jednostkowym rozumieniu, podczas kiedy w ramach myśli komunitariańskiej otwiera się przestrzeń do jego rozumienia w ujęciu wspólnotowym.
Due to the fact that in contemporary philosophy phenomenon of responsibility is becoming more significant meaning the author decided to look at its meaning in the context of liberal thought and comunitarin. The article is thus an attempt to compare the phenomenon of responsibility in terms of the liberals and communitarians. Included in the text the author considerations lead to the conclusion that both these positions differently perceive the phenomenon of responsibility, liberalism focusing almost exclusively about his understanding of the individual, while in the framework of comunitarian’s thought opens up space for its understanding in terms of the community.

Zbrojna napaść Rosji na Ukrainę zapoczątkowała dyskusję o możliwości postawienia w stan oskarżenia osób odpowiedzialnych za popełnienie zbrodni międzynarodowych w tym konflikcie. Celem artykułu jest analiza przepisów Rzymskiego Statutu MTK pod kątem ewentualnego ich oskarżenia. W rozważaniach udzielono odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie czyny mogłyby zostać przypisane żołnierzom rosyjskim biorącym udział w inwazji na Ukrainę. Przedstawiono także możliwość pociągnięcia do odpowiedzialności karnej prezydenta Federacji Rosyjskiej i zwrócono uwagę, że pełnienie funkcji głowy państwa nie wyłącza jego indywidualnej odpowiedzialności. Zauważono też, że działania wojsk rosyjskich w Ukrainie są bardzo zbliżone do metod, jakimi posługiwali się serbscy żołnierze w czasie wojny w Bośni i Hercegowinie.
Russia’s armed attack on Ukraine has sparked a discussion on the possibility of prosecuting on the possibility of prosecuting those responsible for international crimes committed in this war. The subject of the article is an analysis of the provisions of the Rome Statute of the ICC in terms of their possible prosecution. The presented considerations answer the question what actions could be attributed to the Russian soldiers taking part in the invasion of Ukraine. The possibility of prosecuting the president of the Russian Federation was also presented and it was pointed out that performing the function of the head of state does not exclude his individual liability. By the way, it was noticed that the actions of the Russian troops in Ukraine are very similar to the methods used by Serbian soldiers during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This article aims to analyze the thematic of medical team liability considering the recent Italian Supreme Court case-law, highlighting the various problems linked to the identification of the responsibility of each member of the team. The participation of several subjects in the execution of medical treatment makes the question of criminal liability very complex, especially when it comes to inauspicious events, such as injuries or death, occurring during medical treatment. The question concerns the exact identification of the duty of care and vigilance of the medical team and whether this duty is in line with the principle of individual criminal responsibility guaranteed by Article 27 of the Italian Constitution. In this regard, the case-law has elaborated the so-called “principle of reasonable confidence”, according to which the division of labour that belongs to each member should involve a delimitation of his responsibility, limited only to what is within his competence, except in case of the person who organizes, directs, and controls the team. Precisely, based on this principle, the Italian Supreme Court in 2018 reasserted that in the medical team is necessary to identify the role played by each member, thus avoiding resorting to objective responsibility.

Description of the man creation and following after it description of the fall shows that the man is the ethical creature and is subject to a moral rights. It arises the responsibility. The crime is subject to the punishment, and obedience will be awarded. In the history of the biblical revelation comes first of all the notion of the collective responsibility which loses its part of the translation of events experienced by the nation in the voice first it Babylonian constrains. Then comes to the voice the notion of the personal responsibility which lets every individual participate in supporting the religious relation to the God but it gives also a serious difficulties. The Book of Job undertakes the problem of the suffering fair, the Book of Kohelet the question, why unfair does not bear punishment. The fuller possible solution is just after understanding that the repayment does not end within the earthly life, but there is the place for it in the hereafter life. It becomes the call to undertaking responsibility connected with the hope full of the responsibility.

The idea of lifelong learning has appeared in 1920’s, situating on the background of the phenomena of adult education, which, since it emergence, have been a long way – as shall be defined – from the socialization of the masses to the empowerment of individuals, and the prospect of such changes is included into a peculiar continuum – between industrialization and urbanization, and the knowledge society. Nowadays the problem of lifelong learning goes far beyond the traditionally perceived adult education. Inscribing itself into the global educational discourse becomes its essential issue – it refers to the questions of educational possibilities and opportunities in the different socio-cultural contexts. It dominates the discussions on adult education, vocational training and higher education, providing a theoretical framework for the development of relevant policy and action strategies, but in addition it plays a crucial role in economic debates on labour market, quality, capacity, sustainable development, learning in organizations and – importantly – it also appears in non-education-related debates including such issues as: social exclusion, unemployment, environmental protection, active citizenship and health. The phenomenon of lifelong learning allows to respond to such conceptual categories as flexibility and uncertainty. As a result of technological advances, competition creates the need for flexibility which in case of learners is, in the one hand, recognised as emancipation, and in the other, as a threat to individuals enable to meet the new requirements associated with individual responsibility for the course of the educational path. Alongside opinions presenting anti-institutional interpretation of lifelong learning, the „supply” of an institutional offer of adult education is raised. The conclusions of the presented analyses results in showing lifelong learning as a phenomenon, which is not unambiguously evaluated, since it may by understood as a the purpose, a process, an effect, a form of self-realization, a socio-cultural constraint, and at least as an important field of educational reality in the word of new challenges.

This article describes the arguments of Paul Wladimiri, a 15th century Polish philosopher/theologian, about the justice of war (jus ad bellum). It defends his claim that natural reason sets limits on warfare and, specifically, bars holy wars, like the crusades of the Teutonic Knights – and, by extension, the wars of jihadist militants today. It also bars the ideological crusades of secular militants.
Artykuł omawia argumenty Pawła Włodkowica, polskiego filozofa/teologa z XV wieku, dotyczące wojen etycznie usprawiedliwionych (ius ad bellum). Autor opowiada się za przyjęciem twierdzenia Włodkowica, zgodnie z którym rozum naturalny wyznacza granice dla uzasadnionych działań zbrojnych, a w szczególności zakazuje wszczynania wojen świętych, takich jak krucjaty Zakonu Krzyżackiego, wykluczając tym samym również wojny prowadzone przez współczesnych bojowników dżihadu. Zakazuje on także prowadzenia operacji militarnych wspieranych przez bojowo nastawionych rzeczników ideologii świeckich.

This article contains a brief analysis of a key assumption of Michael Walzer’s version of just war theory, presented in his main work devoted to the ethics of war. In compliance with the requirement of the author of Just and unjust wars, the controversial nature of the principle of the moral equality of soldiers is exposed through a close analysis of the course of events marking the beginning of World War II – one of the main issues dealt with in Walzer’s book. The exclusion of individual responsibility for taking part in a military operation that finds no moral justification seems to entail a number of consequences that put a heavy burden on Walzer’s overall model of military ethics. In order to maintain the required level of coherence in just war theory one may need to modify Walzer’s principle of the moral equality of soldiers – at least in relation to the participants of the so-called devastating war.
Artykuł zawiera szkicową analizę jednego z najważniejszych założeń teorii wojny sprawiedliwej zaprezentowanej przez Michaela Walzera w jego głównym dziele poświęconym etyce wojny. Zgodnie z postulatem autora Wojen sprawiedliwych i niesprawiedliwych, kontrowersyjny charakter zasady moralnej równości żołnierzy wyeksponowany zostaje poprzez jej konfrontację z rzeczywistym przebiegiem zdarzeń wyznaczających początek konfliktu zbrojnego, stanowiącego główny przedmiot rozważań Walzera, tj. drugiej wojny światowej. Wykluczenie indywidualnej odpowiedzialności osób biorących udział w operacji militarnej, która nie znajduje żadnego moralnego uzasadnienia, wydaje się pociągać za sobą szereg konsekwencji stanowiących poważne obciążenie dla całościowego modelu Walzera. Utrzymanie niezbędnego poziomu koherencji teorii wojny sprawiedliwej łączy się z koniecznością modyfikacji walzerowskiej zasady równości – przynajmniej w odniesieniu do uczestników tzw. wojny wyniszczającej.

More and more corporations , both multinationals and SMEs, decide that during their business activities they take into consideration such strict social and environmental aspects that are beyond the rules and requirements of the country they operate in. One of its reasons is that the corporate decisions have impacts not only on the immediate environment but also on the whole society. The present study examines and reveals the value priorities of the chief executives and the impact of those on CSR among Hungarian small and medium enterprises. The study also represents the value of the sample. The results of the primary research reveals that the value preferences of the general managers have their impact on the CSR activities of the company and hence certain main values of the individual determine the practice of the CSR. Those leaders who can be characterised by goodwill and universalism are more concerned with CSR and it is clearly shown in their CSR activities. In the examined Hungarian sample a group of leaders (25%) could be distinguished who consider CSR as a competitive advantage. These leaders are considered to be leaders with modern CSR viewpoint. Erich Fromm’s philosophy
Opis:
Freedom, responsibility and safety are categories which penetrate each other. However, in the specialist literature they are more often examined separatlely. Freedom and security are fundamental values, which are followed by specific needs and aspirations of individuals and groups. They should be treated as specific desiderata of human existence. Complementarity of the analized concepts is indisputable, however, responsibility and safety are “secondary” to freedom. On the threshold of the era of hyper globalization only drawing the line clearly – which I will try to propose – at individual freedom and public safety gives a chance to ensure multidimensional welfare of societies. Fromm is of the opinion that contemporary humans marginalize themselves in relation to nature or in confrontation with their surroundings. Human beings have bacame reified and their potential has been changed into resources, which should be treated as assets and aimed at gaining the highest profits. International relations are brought to the role of alienated beings, and each one of them reaches the feeling of safety only by integrating with the community. As I have proven, maintaining social ties guarantees the sense of safety and, thereby gives the possibil- ity to use one’s potencial freely.

The aim of this article is to discuss social filiation of individual identity by presenting chosen theoretical trends in social sciences. Identity, often treated as an issue connected only to psychology, does not exist without its social dimension, which is exemplified by the attitude of an individual to prosocial actions. With regard to the multi-range specificness of responsibility, I will try to explain which components of the individual’s identity and which stages of personal development are key In this field. I am also interested in identity as a source of socially expected and accepted behaviour, especially protective actions.
