Artykuł podejmuje problematykę poznawania hierarchii wartości kształtowanej przez wychowanków. Celem pracy jest określenie czym są wartości z uwzględnieniem perspektywy filozoficznej, psychologicznej, socjologicznej i pedagogicznej oraz ukazanie propozycji poznawania wartości preferowanych przez uczniów. Artykuł podkreśla złożoność kategorii jaką stanowią wartości oraz podejmuje ponadto problematykę istnienia wartości. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu jest przyjęcie określonego stanowiska aksjologicznego. Pozwala to na skonstruowanie propozycji poznawania kształtowanej przez wychowanków hierarchii wartości z wykorzystaniem metody aktywizującej. Artykuł zawiera rekomendacje praktyczne dotyczące poznawania wartości preferowanych przez uczniów i możliwości poznawania wartości przez wychowanków. Wskazane propozycje mogą zostać wykorzystane przez wychowawców na zajęciach z udziałem uczniów w wieku szkolnym.
The article concerns the issue of learning the hierarchy of values shaped by students. The aim of this paper is to determine what values are, including philosophical, psychological, sociological, pedagogical perspectives, as well as to present recommendations for learning the values preferred by students. The article emphasizes the complexity of the category of values and addresses the issue of the existence of values. The solution to this problem is to adopt a specific axiological position. This allows for the creation of recommendations for learning the hierarchy of values shaped by students using the activating method. The article presents practical recommendations regarding learning the values preferred by students and the possibility for students to learning the values. The indicated recommendations can be used by the educators during the classes with school-age students.

Różnica w postrzeganiu wartości jest determinantą wielu decyzji przestrzennych i wpływa na obraz przestrzeni, której wyrazicielami są architektura i krajobraz.
The article is devoted to the problems of axiology of spaces. The aim of the article is to demonstrate that a physical space is the arena of a certain struggle of values. Their materialisation and realisation in the world of real things result from the human understanding, response and approach towards values. The differences in perception of values determine a great number of spatial decisions and influence the appearance of spaces, the expression of which are architecture and landscape.

In the life of every person, there are a number of values that guide them. These values are reflected both in private and professional life, and sometimes they smoothly interpenetrate. In the hierarchy of values related to professional work, work safety should rank among the highest. However, the number of accidents in Polish enterprises leaves no illusions, and the causes of these accidents indicate the main source of their occurrence, which has undoubtedly been the human factor for many years. This paper presents the results of surveys conducted in the SME sector regarding the place of work safety in the hierarchy of values related to professional work in the opinion of employees.

W artykule prezentuję wyniki własnych badań socjologicznych dotyczących postaw młodzieży licealnej i akademickiej wobec godności osobowej człowieka oraz miejsca i znaczenia godności w jej hierarchii wartości podstawowych i uroczystych. Badania te zrealizowałem w 2011 roku w zbiorowości 882 respondentów, w której było 508 kobiet i 374 mężczyzn oraz 456 licealistów w Kaliszu i 426 studentów w Poznaniu. Większość respondentów twierdzi, że godność ludzka jest cenną i ważną wartością, dla której byliby gotowi poświęcić inne wartości, a nawet własne życie i zdrowie, gdyż bez godności życie ludzkie utraciłoby sens i cel. Godność, w ich ocenie, jest gwarancją wolności, niezależności i poczucia własnej wartości każdego człowieka, ułatwia mu poprawne relacje z innymi ludźmi. Większość badanych zaznacza, że każdy człowiek powinien bronić własnej godności przed różnymi zagrożeniami. Jednocześnie powinien także akceptować i szanować godność innych ludzi. Niektórzy licealiści i studenci najwyżej cenią własne życie i z tego powodu nie poświęciliby go dla uzyskania innych wartości ani w obronie osobistej godności i godności innych ludzi. Życia własnego nie poświęciliby też dla ratowania życia osób sobie bliskich.

Artykuł przedstawia poglądy twórcy „materialnej etyki wartości” – Maxa Schelera na temat natury i hierarchii wartości w kontekście zagadnień pedagogicznych. Autor ukazuje wartości jako istniejące obiektywnie właściwości realnego świata, które odkrywamy za pomocą intuicji. Życie emocjonalne człowieka nie stanowi chaosu, ponieważ człowiek poznaje wartości w porządku hierarchicznym oraz uchwytuje ich specyfikę i zachodzące między nimi zależności. Opisany w ten sposób „świat wartości” zachęca do rozwijania własnego człowieczeństwa opartego na porządku wartości i wysiłku zdobywania tego co najcenniejsze, nie zaniedbując przy tym wartości należących do niższych szczebli hierarchii. Poglądy Schelera skłaniają do krytycznego podejścia i szacunku wobec etosu, w którym się uczestniczy. Cele i ideały wychowania powinny być oparte na etyce miłości, dzięki której dokonuje się prawdziwe i pełne poznanie człowieka.
The article presents the views of the creator of "material ethics of values" - Max Scheler on the nature and hierarchy of values in the context of pedagogical issues. The author shows values as objectively existing properties of the real world, which we discover through intuition. Emotional life of a man is not chaos, because man discovers values in a hierarchical order and recognizes their specificity and relationships between them. The "world of values" described in this way encourages the development of one's humanity based on the order of values and the effort to acquire the most valuable without neglecting the values belonging to the lower levels of the hierarchy. Scheler's views lead to a critical approach and respect for his ethos. Pedagogical objectives and ideals should be based on the ethics of love, through which true and full knowledge of man is made.

W artykule skoncentrowano się na problematyce powiązań edukacji medialnej z aksjologią. Konieczność włączenia wartości w poczet zagadnień związanych z edukacją medialną, wychowaniem skonfrontowano z medialnymi karykaturami wartości, czyli z sytuacjami, w których mamy do czynienia z ośmieszaniem wartości w mediach bądź z szerzeniem ich błędnych, zakłamanych definicji. W kolejnej części pracy ukazano, jak edukacja medialna może stawać się narzędziem do przekazywania wartości uczniom szkół każdego szczebla. Przeanalizowano również zagadnienie osobowości nauczyciela jako jednostki pełniącej funkcję nie tylko pedagoga, ale także edukatora medialnego i edukatora wartości, wskazując na sposoby łączenia i przenikania się tych dziedzin wychowania.
This article focuses on the links between media education and axiology. The necessity of including values in the issues of media education and upbringing was confronted with the media caricatures of values, i.e. situations in which we deal with the ridicule of values in the media or with the spreading of false definitions. The next part of the work shows how media education can become a tool for communicating values to students at all levels. The article also considers the personality of the teacher as an individual acting not only as a pedagogue, but also as a media educator and value educator, pointing out the ways in which these fields of education combine and permeate each other.

The problems of the values preferred by teachers merits our attention, especially under the conditions of political, economic, social and cultural transformations in which Polish society has lived recently. From the social point of view, it is interesting to point the issue of the hierarchy of values approved by teachers. This issue has been shown on the basis of empirical research among the teachers in Sandomierz. All the analyses here tended to define the direction of the gradation of values which the teachers of the Sandomierz schools regarded as important. The analyses sought to determine the variables which condition the approved hierarchy of values. Detailed analyses pinpoint such variables as sex, age, and period of teachers' work, and they differentiate the approved hierarchy of values. The findings show that there is an interrelation between the independent variables under consideration and reveal their role in how the teachers under study rank particular values. A general characterization of the population under study has proved that the percentage of the believing teachers is high and reaches almost 85 per cent; it is, however, lower than the percentage from the research of religiosity in Poland (ca. 90 per cent). It is worth noting that almost 12 per cent of the teachers under study are religiously indecisive, but they are attached to Christian tradition. The ratio of teachers' attitudes towards religious practices points to a relatively high selectivity in their approach to religiosity. Only 42 per cent of respondents do practice systematically (in Polish research − 52.4 per cent, in the Włocław diocese 45 per cent), almost 40 per cent are not systematic, 15 per cent rarely practice, and 3.4 per cent do not practice at all. Out of religious truths the existence of God is most generally accepted (91 per cent), and the least the infallibility of the pope (31 per cent), the existence of hell (ca. 54 per cent). As far as the norms of the Decalogue are concerned, the population under study accepts most the norm you shall not kill, and honour your father; the respondents ranked as the third the commandment concerning the cult of God (75.6 per cent). Among the values in question family values were ranked as the last ones (family happiness and work and sacrifice for one's own children); the second place took values related to religious life (everlasting salvation; preservation of the faith in God). It follows from the research that the socio-political background, with the stress laid on the principle of democracy and freedom, has a clear impact on the fact how teachers appreciate of such values as freedom, dignity, one's own beliefs. At the same time, the same context seems to magnify the tendencies to the individualization of the values of religion. In their approved hierarchy of values the teachers rank very highly family, religion and the values of human life. These are the values for which they would lay down their life. Now in Poland a thesis about the devaluation of the value of human life is being put forward, stressing the widespread phenomenon of abortion, propagation of euthanasia, or else various forms of violence and crime shown in the media. It seems that the democratic context with its emphasis on freedom, pluralism and democracy, is conducive to the formation among teachers attitudes towards their own life and the life of the others. One can notice among the respondents a clear tendency to underestimate and ignore such values as solidarity and social equality. This fact may signal disappointment to this social category, or at least a considerable weakening of a hope that these values can be fully realized. Such hopes were awakened in the beginning of the transformations. After ten years of transformation, the respondents who experience various difficulties and are burdened with big costs of those transformations are able to asses the gap between the expectations and reality.

This article discusses the values most popular with gymnasium students. Theoretical approach refers to the issue of values as such, as well as to the problem of education in human values (in the review of sociological and psycho-pedagogical literature). The empirical part of the study discusses the author’s research results. The research was aimed at investigating values which tend to be most popular with gymnasium students, and environmental factors determining students’ choices of values, as well. In total, 92 second-year students of gymnasium were surveyed (48 living in urban areas and 44 living in rural areas). The values most popular with the respondents distinguished by the place of residence were as follows: allocentric values appeared to be preferable, the second popular were hedonistic values, then pro-social values, family values and finally, material values. Having taken sex as an independent variable, two different hierarchies of values for boys and girls were established. In case of girls, the most preferable values were as reported in the following order: allocentric values, pro-social values, hedonistic values, family and material values. The boy respondents, whereas, considered hedonistic values as most important, then allocentric values, family, pro-social and material values. Finally, the problems of education in human values, transmission of values, teaching values and particularly the examples set by parents and teachers were discussed.

Wartości to pojęcie, które doczekało się w naukach społecznych wielu propozycji konceptualizacji, a ich wspólnym elementem jest podkreślenie znaczenia wartości w kształtowaniu zachowań człowieka, uznając tym samym, że są one istotnym elementem stylu życia. W literaturze przedmiotu podnosi się również zagadnienie uhierarchizowania wartości, co wynika z różnej ich ważności w życiu poszczególnych jednostek, co z kolei determinują zmienne endo- i egzogenne. Wśród zmiennych endogennych można wyróżnić np. płeć, wiek, wykształcenie, zasobność finansową, aktywność zawodową itp. Z uwagi na specyfikę młodego pokolenia warto zwrócić uwagę na właściwą dla tej generacji hierarchię wartości, a rozpoznanie tej kwestii jest przedmiotem przeprowadzonych badań wśród 200 młodych warszawiaków, aktywnych zawodowo i o stabilnej sytuacji finansowej. Wyniki badań wskazują, że wartościami najważniejszymi są zdrowie własne i członków rodziny oraz szczęście rodzinne, a najmniej ważne dla badanej populacji jest życie zgodnie z religią oraz aktywność polityczna.
Values are the notion, which has received in social sciences many proposals of conceptualisation and their common element is an emphasis put on the importance of value in formation of man’s behaviours, thus considering that they are an important element of the lifestyle. In the subject literature, there is also raised the issue of attributing hierarchy to values, what stems from their different importance in life of individuals, what, in turn, is determined by endo- and exogenous variables. Among the endogenous variables, there may be distinguished, for instance, sex, age, education, financial affluence, professional activity, etc. Having in mind the specificity of the young generation, it is worthwhile to pay attention to the relevant for this generation hierarchy of values; recognition of this issue is the subject matter of surveys carried out among 200 young Varsovians, professionally active and having stable financial condition. The survey findings indicate that the most important values are one’s health and health of the family members as well as family happiness, while the least important for the population in question is the life compliant with religion and political activity.
Ценности – понятие, которое дождалось в общественных науках многих предложений концептуализации, а их общим элементом является подчеркивание значения ценностей в формировании поведения человека, признавая тем самым, что они – существенный элемент образа жизни. В литературе по пред- мету затрагивается также вопрос иерархизации ценностей, что вытекает из неодинаковой их важности в жизни отдельных индивидов, что, в свою очередь, определяется эндо- и экзогенными переменными. В числе эндогенных пере- менных можно выделить, например, пол, возраст, образование, финансовую зажиточность, профессиональную активность и пр. Ввиду специфики молодого поколения стόит обратить внимание на свойственную этой генерации иерархию ценностей, а распознание этого вопроса является предметом проведённых обследований среди 200 молодых варшавян, профессионально активных и со стабильным финансовым положением. Результаты обследований показывают, что самыми важными ценностями являются собственное здоровье и здоровье членов семьи, а также семейное счастье, меньше же всего важны для обследуемой популяции жизнь в соответствии с религией и политическая активность.

Badania nad jakością życia wyznaczają różne jej interpretacje i wskazują na rozmaite narzędzia oraz metody jej pomiaru. W badaniach jakości życia występuje zarówno opisowe, jak i wartościujące rozumienie tej kategorii. Podejście opisowe jest podstawą do rozróżnienia obiektywnej i subiektywnej jakości życia. Przytaczane w różnorodnych definicjach aspekty jakości życia mają swój wymiar obiektywny, ale ich ocena zależy od subiektywnego systemu wartości oraz odczucia co do stopnia zaspokojenia potrzeb i aspiracji. Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jak współcześni Polacy postrzegają jakość swojego życia i jakie cenią wartości? W artykule podjęto rozważania teoretyczne dotyczące terminu „jakość życia” i wykorzystano także raporty Diagnozy Społecznej i CBOS oraz wyniki autorskich badań ankietowych. Na podstawie analizy literatury przedmiotu i wykorzystanych materiałów źródłowych można wysnuć wniosek, że jakość życia Polaków w istotny sposób kształtują przede wszystkim relacje rodzinne i międzyludzkie oraz zdrowie.
Research on the quality of life provides a number of interpretations on what this quality actually is and suggests using various tools and methods for measuring it. Studies are based both on descriptive and evaluative approaches to the category under discussion. The former lays foundations for differentiating between objective and subjective quality of living. Referred to in a number of definitions, different aspects of life quality have an objective dimension, yet their assessment depends on the subjective system of values and opinions about the extent to which one’s needs and aspirations are being satisfied. The article is aimed at determining how modern Polish people perceive the quality of their lives and what values they cherish. Furthermore, the paper is an attempt to discuss the notion of “life quality” based on reports produced by the Public Opinion Research Centre (CBOS), Social Diagnosis (Diagnoza Społeczna) as well as the results of questionnaire survey conducted by the author. Based on the study of the literature on the subject and source materials, conclusion may be drawn that the life quality of Polish people depends greatly on family and interpersonal relations as well as health issues.
