Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki zależności napięcia mierzonego na zaciskach obciążonego akumulatora w warunkach badań rozruchowych silników o zapłonie iskrowym oraz samoczynnym. Analizie poddano wartość minimalną, maksymalną oraz średnią napięcia w funkcji minimalnej, maksymalnej oraz średniej wartości natężenia prądu oraz temperatury, w której realizowano próby rozruchowe. Przedstawiono jedno oraz dwuczynnikowe zależności opisujące wpływ zmiennych niezależnych na zmienną zależną zarówno dla silnika o zapłonie iskrowym jak i samoczynnym. Przedstawiono zależności pozwalające wyznaczyć wartość napięcia w funkcji parametrów je określających, także przy zmiennych oporach ruchu walu korbowego. Wykazano adekwatność wyznaczonych zależności oraz statystycznie stwierdzono brak istotności wpływu temperatury, jako zmiennej niezależnej na wartość napięcia określanego za pomocą modelu.
The results of the voltage dependence on the terminals of the loaded battery under the starting conditions tests of spark and selfignition engines were presented. The minimum, maximum and average values of the voltage as a function of the minimum, maximum and average values of the current and the temperature at which the starting tests were performed were analyzed. One and two-factorial relationships describing the influence of independent variables on dependent variable in both spark and selfignition engines were presented. The dependencies that determine the value of the voltage in the function of the defining parameters are also presented, also in case of variable crank movement resistance. The adequacy of the determined relationships was found and statistically significant lack of temperature influence on the independent variable of the voltage determined by the model.

Opis:: Over the past ten years, the automobile manufacturing basis has shifted to Thailand, thus transforming the country into an automobile industrial hub in Asia. An integral part of this industry, lead acid battery manufacturing has exhibited tremendous growth with increasing trends toward new manufacturing technology. This research aimed to study life cycle assessments of lead-acid automobile battery manufactured in Thailand by comparing conventional batteries with calcium-maintenance free batteries. Global warming and acidification are the largest environmental impacts associated with both battery types. Changing from conventional batteries to calcium-maintenance free batteries is able to reduce environmental impact by approximately 28% due to longer usage life and reduced utilization of manufacturing resources and energy. The greenhouse gases and acidification caused by one conventional battery amounted to 102 kg CO 2 and 0.94 kg SO2, respectively. These amounts decrease to 72 kg CO2 and 0.56 kg S02, respectively, when calcium-maintenance free technology is used. Raw material procurement is found to have the greatest environmental impact, followed by product usage. In this study, the information on environmental impact is incorporated with MET matrix principles to propose guidelines for environmental improvement throughout the battery life cycle.

Opis:: W artykule opisano metody badań diagnostycznych samochodowych akumulatorów rozruchowych. Badania diagnostyczne wykonano dla dwóch akumulatorów samochodowych kwasowo-ołowiowych różnego typu. Doświadczenia realizowano na stanowisku pomiarowym oraz w pojeździe samochodowym. Wykorzystano ładowarki akumulatorów, testery elektroniczne, diagnoskop samochodowy oraz przyrządy pomiarowe analogowe i cyfrowe. Najważniejszym badaniem diagnostycznym była próba rozruchu silnika oraz rejestracja przebiegów napięcia i prądu. Badania stanowiskowe akumulatorów polegały na sprawdzeniu ich stanu technicznego za pomocą testerów oraz wyznaczeniu charakterystyki napięciowo-prądowej i rezystancji wewnętrznej. Na podstawie badań stanowiskowych i wykonanych w pojeździe samochodowym przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą metod diagnostycznych.
The paper describes the methods of a diagnostics research of automotive starting batteries. The diagnostics research was conducted for two lead-acid automotive batteries of different types. The experiments were realized on measurement site and in a motor vehicle with the use of battery chargers, electronic testers, diagnoscope, analog and digital measurement apparatus. The most important test was an attempt to start an engine and record the changes of voltage and current. The tests on measurement site included checking the technical condition with testers as well as evaluation the voltage-current characteristics and internal resistance. The comparative analysis of diagnostics methods has been conducted on the basis of tests performed both on measurement site and in an automotive vehicle.

Opis:: Increase in consumer power with the simultaneous reduction in the time and driving speed of personal automobiles results in systematic discharge of the batteries due to electric power balance inefficiency. The calculation methods for the evaluation of the electric power balance are inefficient, as a number of random factors (demand for electric power, driving speed, air temperature, technical condition of the units, etc.) influence the process of electric power generation, storage and consumption. The instrumental method for evaluation of the electric power balance efficiency assumes that the driver is informed about the battery charge condition prior to combustion engine startup, operational evaluation of the charge state change is performed during automobile driving and the driver is warned about critical reduction of charge state (including the forecast of its change for the period of the parking of the automobile in winter).
