Opis:
Debt instruments allow local government units to perform both current and investment tasks that are not covered in the budget. Thus, they enable the acceleration of the implementation of tasks aimed at ensuring the development of society. These entities usually choose credit as a debt instrument. In the article, the authors present a discussion on the criteria, but also the dilemmas of choosing local government debt instruments. The aim of the study is to indicate the criteria for selecting debt instruments by local government units in the light of budgetary and financial conditions. The authors also consider the barriers and limitations in the process of selecting a debt instrument.

The main objective of the presented research is to verify the influence of demographic factors on retail customers’ bank selection criteria in Poland. We compiled descriptive and inferential statistics and did factor analysis using Principal Component Analysis. Our dataset is based on a sample of 515 questionnaires that were gathered in the first quarter of 2022. The results proved that there are significant differences among various groups of respondents and their bank selection criteria. The highest number of differences appear in the case of demographic factors of age, and then income and gender. In general, the most important factors are the cost of service and mobile and online banking. The study has direct implications for all types of banks that operate in developing markets, especially in East-Central Europe, as having this knowledge can help to appropriately target customers using bank selection criteria that are valued by different groups of customers.

Purpose: Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was announced by China in 2013. In the initiative, railway lines are operated (Belt), and sea transportation is continuing with sea routes (Road) between China and Europe. The geographical scope of the initiative covering the Chinese-European route is increasing day by day. The purpose of this study is to identify the strategies that container terminals in sea routes need to consider to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Methodology: To achieve the goal, I focused on the criteria that container ship operators considered in port selection as the main user of the container terminals. In the study, a qualitative research process was followed, and data was collected through semi-structured interviews. Results: It is seen that the bilateral agreements between the countries where the ports are located have gained importance especially with China and the other countries involving the initiative. Moreover, it has been determined that the connections with the railway infrastructure will create a competitive advantage. The contribution: The container terminals located on the route have not only enough with classical advantages such as location, equipment, and infrastructure to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The new criteria found in the study are the areas where the port cannot directly intervene individually. However, the port operator may negotiate with the relevant parties.

The article presents analysis of selected ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems in term of the application of the ""Production"" module in a manufacturing enterprise. Celem badania było uzasadnienie sensowności włączenia tekstów humorystycznych do materiałów edukacyjnych z języka ukraińskiego i wypracowanie metodycznie poprawnego systemu pracy z ich wykorzystaniem. Do realizacji rozmaitych celów badawczych zastosowano różnorodne metody: techniki obserwacyjne, pozwalające wyjaśnić reakcje obcojęzycznych studentów na żarty pojawiające się podczas nauki, eksperyment hipotetyczno-indukcyjny, służący określeniu potencjału dydaktycznego i lingwokulturologicznego proponowanych tekstów oraz eksperyment metodyczny, dający możliwość udowodnienia skuteczności dydaktycznej tekstów humorystycznych. Wyniki badania potwierdzają, że twórcza praca z krótkimi tekstami humorystycznymi zachęci studentów do aktywności, zmotywuje ich do komunikacji w języku ukraińskim i pozytywnie wpłynie na stopień ukształtowania kompetencji komunikacyjnych.
The goal of the research is to explain the reasonability of including humorous texts in study materials for the Ukrainian language, and to work out a methodically correct systemof using them with a foreign audience. Observational methods were used to find out how foreign students react to jokes during the study process, hypothetical and inductive experiment – to define the didactic and linguocultural potential of proposed texts and methodic experiment – to prove the educational efficiency of humorous texts. The research results confirm that creative work with short humorous texts will stimulate students to work actively in the classroom, motivate them to communicate in Ukrainian, and positively influence the level of communication proficiency.

Omówiono zagadnienie wyboru metody spawania zbiornika magazynowego w warunkach montażowych. Przeprowadzono analizę technologii wykonania dla 4 metod spawalniczych (111, 135, 136, 121). Wzięto pod uwagę następujące kryteria: jakość wykonania, koszt wykonania, wpływ procesu na środowisko, warunki atmosferyczne. Dla wielkogabarytowych cylindrycznych zbiorników magazynowych najefektywniejszą okazała się metoda spawania łukiem krytym pod topnikiem (121).
The issue of selection of storage tank welding methods in assembly conditions is discussed. An analysis of 4 welding methods (111, 135, 136, 121) was performed. The following criteria were taken into account: quality and costs of welding, process impact on environment and weather conditions. The submerged arc welding flux method (121) was proved to be the most effective for the welding of large-sized cylindrical storage tanks.

Opis:
The article presents a review of the bibliotherapeutic literature available on the publishing market and an attempt to organize the text selection criteria present in Polish and world literature, for bibliotherapeutic. The author aims at making the existing criteria more precise, as well as supplementing them with other criteria that refer to the way the world is presented and the narration is conducted in epic works. As a result of the author's analyses, the author's own categorization of criteria was proposed. Moreover, it also indicates the direction in which they can be considered so that the bibliotherapist has a chance to make an informed decision about the possible use of the text in bibliotherapy.
W artykule dokonano przeglądu dostępnej na rynku wydawniczym literatury biblioterapeutycznej oraz podjęto próbę uporządkowania eksponowanych w polskiej i światowej literaturze kryteriów doboru tekstów do zajęć biblioterapeutycznych, doprecyzowania ich, a także uzupełnienia o inne, w większym stopniu odnoszące się do świata przedstawionego i sposobu prowadzenia narracji w utworach epickich. Wskutek przeprowadzonych przez autora analiz zaproponowano autorską kategoryzację kryteriów oraz wskazano kierunek, w jakim mogą być one rozpatrywane, aby w konsekwencji biblioterapeuta miał szansę podjąć przemyślaną decyzję o ewentualnym wykorzystaniu tekstu w biblioterapii.

Given a finite sequence of events and a well-defined notion of events being interesting, the Odds-theorem (Bruss(2000)) gives an online strategy to stop on the last interesting event. This strategy is optimal for independent events, and it is obtained in a straightforward way by an algorithm which is optimal itself (odds-algorithm). Here we study questions in how far the optimal value mirrors monotonicity properties of the underlying sequence of probabilities of events. We make these questions precise, motivate them, and then give complete answers. The motivation is enhanced by certain problems where it seems desirable to apply the odds-algorithm but where a lack of information does not allow to do so without incorporating sequential estimation. In view of this goal, the notion of a plug-in odds-algorithm is introduced. Several applications are included.

Zagadnienie oceny i wyboru dostawcy jest podstawowym problemem w obszarze logistyki. Dotyczy ono nie tylko dostawców dóbr materialnych ale także usług, w tym usług logistycznych. Dokonywana ocena i wybór mają charakter wielokryterialny, wynikający z konieczności uwzględnienia w prowadzonych analizach szeregu kryteriów ilościowych i jakościowych. W literaturze proponowanych jest wiele parametrów, które mogą okazać się ważne przy współpracy z usługodawcą logistycznym. Stąd celem artykułu jest dyskusja nad istotnością kryteriów wyboru dostawcy w przypadku tych podmiotów oraz przeprowadzenie wstępnych badań w tym obszarze, z uwzględnieniem wybranego usługodawcy logistycznego i jego klientów.
The issue of evaluation and selection of suppliers is a major problem in the area of logistics. It concerns not only the suppliers of material goods but also service providers, including logistics services. The assessment evaluation and selection is a multi-criteria resulting from the need to take into account in the analyzes carried out a number of quantitative and qualitative criteria. Literature suggests a number of parameters, which may be important in cooperation with logistics service provider. Hence the aim of this article is to discuss the significance of the criteria for selecting suppliers for these companies and conduct preliminary research in this area, taking into account the logistics service provider and its customers.

Our research intends to find selection parameters for children’s literature to be used as a fundamental part of a foreign-language curriculum. We achieve this through an analysis of the educational and cultural-linguistic advantages of this literature. Our project’s goal is to expose our students to Italian literature using their second language, rather than their first one, as a way to convey cultural meaning. This educational project was conducted in 2015, in a school in Chicago that offers classes of Italian Language and Culture to children at various linguistic levels, including the English-Italian bilingual one. Our research paper is divided into three parts. The first part introduces a theoretical excursus on the meaning of children’s literature and on the fable’s structure as a literary genre. The second part presents examples of how a specific text (L’albero delle fiabe by Roberto Piumini) was selected and used during the project; this part also includes our comments based on the observations of the child participants. Finally, the analysis stage describes the generalisation of our data within a framework indicating how to select a literary text, which may be useful for other teachers when deciding which children’s books to use and how to apply them to educational curricula.
Il nostro studio si propone di individuare criteri di selezione del testo letterario per l’infanzia, da usare come parte integrante di un curriculum di lingua straniera, analizzandone i vantaggi educativi e linguistico-culturali. Lo scopo del progetto è stato esporre i bambini alla letteratura italiana, usando la lingua seconda come strumento veicolare, non il contrario. Il progetto didattico è stato svolto presso una scuola di Chicago che offre corsi di lingua e cultura italiana a bambini di vario livello linguistico, compreso i bilingui in inglese e italiano. Lo studio è diviso in tre parti. La prima parte presenta un excursus teorico sul significato della letteratura d’infanzia e sulla struttura della fiaba come genere letterario. La seconda parte presenta esempi di selezione del testo usato durante il progetto (L’albero delle fiabe di R. Piumini) e i commenti derivati dalle nostre osservazioni. La fase di analisi riporta la generalizzazione dei nostri dati in uno schema di lavoro per la selezione del testo letterario, utile ad altri insegnanti nella scelta e didattizzazione di libri per l’infanzia.
