    The Star of Redemption, thinker Franz Rosenzweig’s life’s work, has beenanalysed and interpreted across a variety of disciplines and perspectives for almosta hundred years. Future generations will continue to use and appreciate this text for itsenduring variety and multiplicity of ideas. This article aims to provide a hermeneutical insight into Rosenzweig’s idea of the anticipation of the Kingdom. Rosenzweig deriveshis ideas from the Tanakh. Eternity, according to Rosenzweig, is neither an infinite nor an indeterminately long period of time, but ‘a Tomorrow that could as well be Today’. Redemption occurs as eternity projected in time. The author understands time not only as a sequence of moments as occurrence in history. For him history will be newly decided inevery moment of encounter between the Other and the Self. History moves forward only because of the individual, who decides. Rosenzweig therefore considersprayer as the constitutive element of the human world order, which can anticipate and accelerate the coming of the Kingdom. Rosenzweig’s conception of prayer is fully developed in the third part of the Star, especially in the introduction, titled On the Possibility of Soliciting (erbeten) the Kingdom by Prayer. Here the author introduces different types of prayers andasks the most crucial question of the last part of the Star: Can a human being tempt Godsimply by praying? Subsequently, we must recognize the significance of Rosenzweig’scontribution to the interpretation of prayer as the anticipation of the Kingdom. His analysisremains current and a precious resource for further reflection.

    The text deals with the question whether Hannah Arendt was influenced by Franz Rosenzweig’s Der Stern der Erlösung (1921) before writing Der Liebesbegriff bei Augustin (1929). Instead of building general analogies, I studied two very specific topics – the world and birth – to demonstrate that Arendt repeated almost verbatim Rosenzweig’s entire peculiar argumentation which played the notions of God and nature against each other to combat their overwhelming power and to make room for the contingency of the world and the novelty of each birth. Facing the helplessness of a philosophy which ignored mortality, Rosenzweig cried out the lament of the finite being. Philosophy, with its predilection for totality, lost adequate proportions to reflect on life. Arendt revived this paradigmatic reorientation, but with a significant twist: for her, birth and the world meant more than God for Rosenzweig. Both thinkers projected a language between philosophy and theology, inciting the two idioms to a fruitful debate.

    In the article it was shown how Henri Bergson and Franz Rosenzweig understand love, as a principle, which actualise in the double context: as a me¬ta¬physical and ethical principle. Love in its first context actualises as a me¬taphysical principle, as a principle of originate life in toto, in the second it is a regulatory of social life of human beings. In its first context it was ex-pressed as love of God to man, whereas in the second as man’s love to God. God’s love and its metaphysical character expresses in creation/the gift of existence received in the power of loving the other man, whereas we- humanity- response on God’s love in voluntary acts of other’s love. There-fore this love has the ethical character as well.

    The main purpose of the article is to compare the originally Greek, Plato’s concept of dialogue and its function in the procedure of philosophying to the one developed by the 20- century “philosophy of dialogue” (F. Rosenzweig, M. Buber, F. Ebner, E. Levinas). It seems quite astounding that philosophy of dialogue, a trend which consistently and persistently defends the privileged position of dialogue in the structure of reality and uses it as an essential factor in the understanding of the relation between God and Man, has not developed any solid methodological perspective. What is even worse, it failed to observe its presence in the very core of philosophical thinking, i.e. in Plato’s thought. We are capable of reconstructing Plato’s modus philosophandi with its essential conditions: the philosopher must not only ‘see’ the truth (the noetical function), but must also tell it to the others, choose the partners of the dialogue and defend his logos if necessary (the apophantical function). The article consists of two complementary analyses: the first one is devoted to the presentation of the dialogical factor in Plato’s noetics and apophantics, and the second one focuses on Rosenzweig’s criticism of the whole European philosophy. The author tries to indicate its doubtful moments by putting forward the question  whether Plato’s philosophy may be justly ascribed to the tradition under Rosenzweig’s criticism, and if so, to what extent.

    Rosenzweiga krytyka islamu i jego wartość dzisiaj Autor artykułu skupia się na radykalnie prowokacyjnym postrzeganiu islamu przez Franza Rosenzweiga, które w ironicznej formie pojawia się w jego opus magnum, czyli The Star of Redemption (1921), pracy uznanej za przełomową w podejściu do dialogu międzywyznaniowego. Artykuł otwiera krótka prezentacja głównego (bardziej popularnego) punktu widzenia oraz rzekomej problematyczności takiej postawy i stylu. Autor dokonuje zwięzłego przeglądu ewolucji odniesień do tych poglądów w badaniach — od pojawienia się The Star of Redemption do naszych czasów w późnej epoce ponowoczesnej. Co do odniesień niniejszego artykułu do istniejącej literatury należy zauważyć, że opiera się on na spostrzeżeniach z wielu różnych pokrewnych źródeł pierwotnych i wtórnych. Odnosząc się do kwestii akceptacji podejścia Rosenzweiga, odwołuje się do opinii pewnej grupy myślicieli, które powracają w kolejnych zagadnieniach w całym artykule. W szczególnych przypadkach, na przykład w części podsumowującej, na poparcie swojej argumentacji autor wymienia kilka dodatkowych źródeł. Oczywiście cytuje źródła ze Starego i Nowego Testamentu oraz Koranu, na których opiera się teza Rosenzweiga. Artykuł zamyka sformułowanie jego celu, a mianowicie uzyskania klarowności w postrzeganiu Rosenzweiga, aby ostatecznie móc spekulować na temat jego miejsca we współczesnym dyskursie na temat islamu. Franza Rosenzweiga, współczesnego teologa i filozofa żydowskiego, który kojarzy się głównie z jego dość rewolucyjnym, dialogicznym podejściem do chrześcijaństwa, w jego poglądach na temat islamu można by uznać po prostu za islamofoba. Może to wyjaśniać stosunkowo małe zainteresowanie badaniem jego myśli w tym aspekcie, radykalne podejście do protekcjonizmu oraz powierzchowne i protekcjonalne podejście do tematu. Tym bardziej że te spostrzeżenia znajdują się w jego The Star of Redemption, uważanej za traktat, który otworzył nową erę w stosunkach między judaizmem a chrześcijaństwem, ustawiając je jako komplementarne i równe, na co nie odważył się przed nim żaden żydowski myśliciel. Generalnie celem autora jest wyjaśnienie poglądów Rosenzweiga na islam w jego The Star of Redemption i sprecyzowanie, co owe poglądy mogą wnieść do dyskusji na ten temat dzisiaj, pomimo kontrowersyjnego podejścia.
    This article focuses on Franz Rosenzweig’s radical provocative views of Islam, which ironically appears in his magnum opus The Star of Redemption (1921), a work considered groundbreaking in its interfaith dialogical approach. The article opens with a short presentation of their main (more popular) point, and the alleged problematic nature of their attitude and style. At this stage I concisely review the evolution of the reference to these views in the scholarship, since the appearance of The Star of Redemption to our day in the late postmodern age. In regard to the relation of the current article to existing literature, it should be noted that it is drawing on insights from a host of different primary and secondary related sources. In addressing the question of the acceptance of Rosenzweig's approach, I refer to opinions of a line of thinkers, which re-appear in the following discussions throughout the article. In particular cases, such as in the concluding section, I mention some more background sources to support my argument. I obviously quote the sources from the Old and New Testaments and the Quran upon which Rosenzeig’s thesis rests. I close the outlining of the article's framework with a formulation of its purpose, namely to gain clarity of Rosenzweig's insights in order to ultimately speculate on its place in contemporary discourse on Islam. Coming across Franz Rosenzweig's, the modern Jewish theologian and philosopher mostly associates with his revolutionary dialogic approach to Christianity, opinions of Islam, one would probably consider him nothing more than another Islamophobe. This may explain the relatively low interest research has for this aspect of his thought, his radical approach considered condescending and his treatment of the subject considered superficial and patronizing. All the more when these insights are found in his The Star of Redemption, considered to be a treatise that opened a new era in the relationship between Judaism and Christianity, setting them as complementary and equal, which no Jewish thinker before him had dared do. The purpose of my paper is to clarify his insights on Islam in The Star, and to explain what can such a view contribute on this topic today, its controversial approach notwithstanding.

He was an outstanding electrician, with stupendous scientific achievements in the fields of electric circuit theory, electrical measurements and geophysical measurements conducted by electric methods.
