    Opis:
    This thesis is a result of a careful thought on what peace is and what its essential features, aims and necessary conditions are. I have proposed a notion that inner peace of individuals making up a given community (especially of leadership elites) is conducive to collective safety, while significant disturbance of the inner peace of a certain group of individuals results in a global unrest, often on an international scale. In an attempt to approach the subject in a comprehensive manner I justified that inner peace of individuals leads to global inner and outer peace. I also conducted lexical analyses aimed at identifying identical, synonymous and antonymous terms with the word, „peace”. I indicated the main reasons for war and the conditions for keeping peace, emphasizing the significance of pedagogics in the prophylaxis of war and in the spreading of the culture of peace. I also proposed a classification of philosophical and pedagogical attitudes of intellectuals devoting their efforts to the concept of peace throughout the history of humankind and in the world of today. I presented argumentation confirming the assumption that the culture of peace results from a certain upbringing process based on a democratic existence of parents with their child. My praxeological propositions include the educational and prophylactic function of biographies of individuals commonly recognized as promoters of peace. I also provided an outline of the upbringing programs aimed at children and the youth, and serving the role of strengthening peace and public safety.

    Opis:
    Francis starting from the personal experience of social and political unrest, wanted and wished all “real peace of heaven”. He attached great importance to the greeting he had used himself and as well as his brothers: “May the Lord give you a peace”. The fraternity which has raised around him, he used to see in perspective of peace mission. Thus he encouraged his brothers to behave peace and to carry it to others. It should be their attitude during all forms of evangelization. External testimony of an attitude of peace towards others should flow from the inner peace of the heart. The attitude of inner and outer peace is on the one hand to follow Jesus, on the other opening to the spiritual gift of peace. In his peace mission Francis paid particular attention to the prudence and gentleness in the relationship and dialogue with others. He saw his mission as a share in the work of God, to which refer his all life experiences. To follow peace above all was for him a spiritual experience and an opportunity to meet God. He knew that God makes a man able to love and mercy, without which there is no peace.
    Franciszek, wychodząc od osobistego doświadczenia niepokoju społeczno-politycznego, pragnął i życzył wszystkim ludziom „prawdziwego pokoju z nieba”. Przywiązywał wielką wagę do samego pozdrowienia, jakiego używał sam i jego bracia: „niech Pan obdarzy cię pokojem”. Powstałą wokół niego braterską wspólnotę postrzegał właśnie w perspektywie misji pokoju. Stąd zachęcał braci, aby w swojej postawie podczas wszelkich form ewangelizowania sami zachowywali pokój i nieśli go innym. Zewnętrzne świadectwo postawy pełnej pokoju wobec bliźnich powinno wypływać z wewnętrznego pokoju serca. Postawa pokoju wewnętrznego i zewnętrznego to z jednej strony naśladowanie Jezusa, a z drugiej otwarcie się na duchowy dar pokoju. W misji pokoju Franciszek zwracał szczególną uwagę na roztropność i łagodność w relacjach i dialogu z innymi. Misję pokoju postrzegał jako udział w dziele Boga, do którego odnosił wszelkie życiowe doświadczenia. Zachowywanie pokoju było dla niego przede wszystkim doświadczeniem duchowym i okazją do spotkania z Bogiem. Wiedział bowiem, że to On uzdalnia człowieka do miłości i miłosierdzia, bez których nie ma pokoju.

    Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest pouczenie dotyczące pokoju z Listu Jakuba 3,18. Rozpatrywane jest ono w świetle zasad socjoretoryki. W pierwszej części zostaje przeanalizowana wewnętrzna tekstura gnomy z 3,18: najpierw jej syntaksa i możliwości interpretacji z niej wynikające, a następnie lokacja gnomy w argumentacji retorycznej Listu i jej semantyka wynikająca z poszerzenia o kontekst wypowiedzi. W drugiej części artykułu zostaje przeanalizowana intertekstura tej gnomy: najpierw związki z innymi tekstami, a następnie echa koncepcji pokoju charakterystycznych dla żydowskiej kultury odzwierciedlającej się tekstach Starego Testamentu oraz kultury greckiej i rzymskiej.
    The subject of the article is the teaching on peace found in the Letter of James 3:18, which is investigated in the light of socio-rhetoric. In the first part, the innertexture of the maxim in 3:18 is examined: first its syntactic structure and interpretative possibilities, and then its location within the rhetorical argument of the letter, together with its semantics resulting from the context. In the second part, the article analyzes the intertexture of the maxim: first its relationship to other texts, and then echoes of  concepts of peace found both in the Old Testament and in Greek and Roman culture.
