The authors aim to expound the way the Department took part in the important changes of teacher training in Slovakia.

    Opis:
    The establishment and the activities of the Pedagogical College at the Jagiellonian University was an important event in the history of Polish pedagogy because this fact accelerated the process of its developing as a standalone academic discipline, with Krakow becoming an important centre of pedagogical thought. The process of developing an appropriate curriculum for training secondary school teachers, which combined practice and theory, took place in this College. In 1926, the Pedagogical College opened a Department of Pedagogy and saw the launch of the first Master’s programme in pedagogy.
    Utworzenie, a następnie działalność Studium Pedagogicznego Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, stanowią ważne wydarzenie w dziejach polskiej pedagogiki, przyspieszyły bowiem proces jej kształtowania się jako samodzielnej dyscypliny naukowej, a Kraków dzięki temu stał się ważnym ośrodkiem badań naukowych w tym zakresie. W Studium wypracowano model kształcenia nauczycieli szkół średnich harmonijnie łączący praktykę z teorią. Przy Studium w roku 1926 utworzono Katedrę Pedagogiki oraz uruchomiono magisterskie studia pedagogiczne.

    Research issues and academic achievements of the faculty of the Department of Pedagogy and Teaching at Poznań University in 1919–1939 on the centennial of the establishment of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (1919–2019). In its early days, Poznań University attracted a large number of researchers representing many disciplines of science but prevailing humanities. Poznań was a centre of very dynamic research into pedagogy and psychology. Initially, the Department of Pedagogy and Teaching at Poznań University focused on just a few research fields and areas. In the lead were issues related to the theory of upbringing, educating adults and the history of upbringing. In the local Department of Pedagogy and Teaching, a number of contributions was made to teaching and the methodology of some teaching subjects. In the Interwar Period, the following research areas were pursued by the pedagogy teachers at Poznań University: Antoni Danysz’ progressive-national trend referring to the ideological traditions of the Revolutions of 1848; Ludwik Jaxa-Bykowski’s nationalist-anthropological trend resulting from nationalist conflicts and efforts to reinforce the nation with special emphasis placed on the first decade of Poland’s independence; Marian Wachowski’s nationalist-imperialistic trend based on German philosophical pedagogy.

    The author describes, from the perspective of 40th anniversary of the Department of Social Pedagogy at the University of Silesia, the period of his leadership of this scientific department in the years 1980–2010. Moreover, the author tries to characterise the activities of the Department in the era of socialism and in later years, after 1989, in the period of post-communist social changes. He expects that comparative studies will enable to find the elements of continuity and change in the last decade, when the emphasis has been placed not only at the preservation, but also at the reinforcement of the tradition of social sciences in Poland.

    The article presents the researchers and didactic workers who substantially contributed to the scientific and didactic development of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Media Pedagogy. Throughout 40 years of activity, the Department, as a unit being a part of Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Silesia, has cooperated with many prominent figures from regional, national and foreign academic centers. Currently, the Department implements an intensive research programme, takes part in the doctoral and postdoctoral promotions as well as successfully undertakes the education of students specializing in teaching
    In dem Beitrag werden Profile des Forschungs- und Lehrpersonals vorgestellt, die zur wissenschaftlichen und didaktischen Entwicklung des Lehrstuhls für frühkindliche Bildung und Medienpädagogik der Schlesischen Universität in Katowice wesentlich beigetragen haben. Während seiner vierzigjährigen Tätigkeit arbeitete der Lehrstuhl mit vielen herausragenden Wissenschaftlern aus regionalen, inländischen und ausländischen akademischen Zentren zusammen. Derzeit betreibt er ein intensives Forschungsprogramm, unterrichtet Studenten im Lehrerberuf und nimmt an Promotionen zum Doktor und habilitierten Doktor teil.

    Artykuł opisuje działalność naukowo-badawczą pracowników Instytutu Pedagogiki (Zakład Pedagogiki Ogólnej i Zakład Historii Nauki, Oświaty i Wychowania), którzy pod kierunkiem prof. UG dr. hab. Kazimierza Kossak- -Główczewskiego podejmują badania nad tematyką wielokulturowości (w tym wielokulturowości Pomorza Gdańskiego), edukacją regionalną (w tym edukacją kaszubską) i zagadnieniami międzykulturowości. Badania pedagogiczne stanowią zaledwie fragment szerszego nurtu badań humanistycznych i społecznych podejmowanych w Uniwersytecie Gdańskim i Instytucie Kaszubskim w Gdańsku. Badania te inspirowane są także praktyką edukacyjną. Stąd opis dotyczy także wybranych działań gdańskich socjologów, językoznawców, literaturoznawców i historyków problematyki kaszubskiej. Przywołano także wybrane nazwiska praktyków edukacji kaszubskiej.
    The article depicts the research activity of employees of the Pedagogical Institute (General Pedagogy Department and Department of the History of Science and Education). They conduct research under the guidance of prof. Dr. UG. hab. Kazimierz Kossak-Główczewski. The main topics are multiculturalism (including multiculturalism of Gdansk Pomerania), regional education (including Kashubian education) and intercultural issues. Pedagogical research represents only a part of wider mainstream of humanistic and social studies which are conducted at the University of Gdansk and Kashubian Institute in Gdańsk. These studies are also inspired by educational practice. The description also applies to selected activities of Gdańsk sociologists, linguists, literary scholars and historians of Kashubian issues. The names of selected practitioners are listed.
