Opis:
Piezomagnetic materials in composition $Ni_{0.284}Zn_{0.549}Cu_{0.183}Fe_{1.984}O_4$ were prepared by mixed oxide method at 1100°C. Powder X-ray diffraction studies confirm the crystalline nature of the synthesized $Ni_{0.284}Zn_{0.549}Cu_{0.183}Fe_{1.984}O_4$ piezomagnetic material. The crystallite size is calculated to be 19.332 μ m using the Debye-Scherrer formula. The surface morphology and particle size of the samples has been studied by scanning electron microscopy. The thermal stability and decomposition behaviour of $Ni_{0.284}Zn_{0.549}Cu_{0.183}Fe_{1.984}O_4$ piezomagnetic material have been studied by thermogravimetric analysis at a heating rate of 15°C/min. The effective activation energy of the prepared composite was calculated using single heating rate methods: Broido's and Coats-Redfern methods. Dielectric properties of $Ni_{0.284}Zn_{0.549}Cu_{0.183}Fe_{1.984}O_4$ piezomagnetic material have been studied in a wide range of frequencies and temperatures. The magnetic behavior of $Ni_{0.284} Zn_{0.549} Cu_{0.183} Fe_{1.984}O_4$ piezomagnetic material at room temperature has been confirmed by vibrational sample magnetometer studies.

Opis:
In this work the influence of surface roughness on magnetostrictive nano-actuator parameters has been analyzed theoretically. A mechanical and magnetoelastic behavior of investigated cantilever bimorphic system has been described in the frame of the simple analytical model. Realistic material parameters have been incorporated into the model for high-magnetostrictive galfenol (Fe-Ga) thin films on silicon substrate. It has been shown that for 5 nm thick galfenol film a flat surface magnetostrictive effects modify the cantilever deflection and force only by 3%, whereas in the case of rough surface this influence increases to about 15%, when dimensions of roughness steps are comparable to the distances between them.

Binary and complex alloyed high damping steels on the base of Fe-Cr and Fe-Al systems was investigated. It was shown that already slight surface treatment leads to the increase in magnetic anisotropy of the material and to the decrease in damping capacity.

Opis:
We investigated the magnetostriction of ceramic YBa$\text{}_{2}$Cu$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{7-δ}$ sample both before and after fast neutron irradiation with the fluency of 7.55×10$\text{}^{17}$ n/cm$\text{}^{2}$ and energy of above 0.5 MeV. We have found that after irradiation the widths of both transverse and longitudinal magnetostriction hysteresis loops at a given temperature and at a given external magnetic field increased several times. At 4.2 K and in 10 tesla the widths of the magnetostriction hysteresis loop of the irradiated sample are of an order of 10$\text{}^{-5}$. The results can be understood in the framework of the model of the magnetostriction induced by the pinning forces, assuming the stress in the sample to be induced mainly by the intragrain screening currents.

Opis:
Information about magnetoelastic properties of newly developed amorphous magnetic alloys is very important from practical point of view, especially in the case of high permeability materials such as the Fe₆₁Co₁₉Si₅B₁₅ amorphous alloy. In the case of such materials, effect connected with the influence of external stresses on the magnetic properties of the alloy should be tested. This paper presents experimental results of the magnetoelastic properties investigation of the Fe₆₁Co₁₉Si₅B₁₅ amorphous alloy, annealed without magnetic field as well as in the magnetic field. Such thermo-magnetic treatment generated anisotropy has significant influence on the total free energy of magnetic material. In the magnetoelastic investigation, the compressive stress was applied to the ring shaped core, perpendicularly to the magnetizing field direction. Due to the fact, that cores with closed magnetic circuits were used, demagnetization did not change the balance of total free energy in the material.

Opis:
This paper presents the experimental results of the magnetic and magnetoelastic investigation on the properties of $Fe_{70}Ni_8Si_{10}B_{12}$ amorphous alloy, subjected to thermo-magnetic treatment. Samples were annealed at temperature 350°C for 1 hour, in parallel magnetic field (4 kA/m), as well as in transverse field (350 kA/m). Sample annealed without magnetic field was also tested. Magnetoelastic tests were performed under uniform compressive stress, applied to the ring-shaped core, perpendicularly to the direction of magnetizing field. The results indicated that the thermo-magnetic heat treatment changes the magnetic characteristics, but does not have a significant influence on the coarse of magnetoelastic characteristics of $Fe_{70}Ni_8Si_{10}B_{12}$ amorphous alloy.

Opis:
Ni polycrystalline nanowires with diameters of 50, 80, and 100 nm were electrodeposited in cylindrical pores of track-etched polycarbonate membranes. Their magnetic properties were determined as a function of temperature using ferromagnetic resonance and magnetization measurements. At room temperature, the uniaxial anisotropy is equal to the shape anisotropy whereas an additional contribution is evidenced at low temperature. This additional contribution is attributed to magnetoelastic effects induced in the nanowires due to the different thermal expansion constants of Ni and polycarbonate. The analysis of magnetization processes in Ni nanowire arrays evidenced strong dipolar interactions inside the wires due to the domain structure. The coercive field of the nanowires was shown to be nearly a linear function of the temperature and could be accounted for temperature dependence of the uniaxial anisotropy.
