Opis:
This paper presents a method for estimation of core losses in banks of single phase power transformers that are subjected to an injected DC current such as geomagnetically induced currents (GIC). The main procedure of the core loss calculation is to obtain a magnetic flux density waveform in both time and location by using a novel algorithm based on 3D FEM inside the core and then to calculate the loss distribution based on loss separation theory. Also, a simple and effective method is proposed for estimation of losses of asymmetric minor loops by using combination of symmetric loops. The effect of DC biasing on core losses in single phase power transformers is investigated and the sensitivity of core type and material is evaluated. the results shows that DC current biasing could increase core losses up to 40 percent or even more.

Opis:
The objective of the study was to carry out numerical simulation of the hydrodynamic noise generated by the flow around a non-cavitating underwater propeller. To achieve this goal, hydrodynamic simulation of flow around the propeller was initially done. The unsteady 3-D flow was modelled numerically along with the LES turbulence model. The hydrodynamic parameters calculated for different advance coefficients are visibly in line with the previous experimental works. The turbulent quantities of the hydrodynamic study and the FWH model were used to find spectral distributions of flow noise for different advance coefficients. The results of the acoustic investigation were compared against other numerical results. An array of 100 hydrophones was used to find the directional distribution of the noise around the propeller. The obtained results indicate that, for different advance coefficients, the highest intensity of the noise recorded by different receivers around the propeller occurs in BPF. Furthermore, it has been found that the noise is directionally as well as intensively distributed around the propeller. Noise distributions of noise are presented and discussed for different regimes of propeller rotation. The analysis of the expanded spectrum (broadband analysis) of noise on the propellers has also been done and the contribution of all parts of the propeller to hydrodynamic noise generation are presented.

Opis:
In the present study, the antagonistic capability of bacterial agents inhabiting the rhizosphere of sugarbeet plants were evaluated against Cercospora beticola Sacc. under laboratory and greenhouse conditions. After preliminary screening using the dual culture method, 14 strains with higher antagonistic capability were selected for further inhibitory assays against C. beticola. Bacterial strains were identified based on the sequence data of the small subunit-rDNA (SSU-rDNA) gene. Based on the SSU sequence data, the identity of bacterial strains were determined as Bacillus (10 strains: RB1, RB2, RB3, RB4, RB5, RB6, RB7, RB8, RB9, RB10), Paenibacillus (two strains: RP1, RP2), Enterobacter (one strain: RE), and Pseudomonas (one strain: RPs). The results obtained in this study showed that in all of the assays (dual culture, volatile and non-volatile metabolites) bacterial antagonists significantly inhibited the growth of C. beticola compared to the control. Bacillus (RB2) showed the highest inhibition rate on C. beticola in all of the assays. Based on the results of the laboratory assays, three bacterial strains RB2 (Bacillus), RPs (Pseudomonas), and RE (Paenibacillus) were selected for greenhouse assays. The experiment was designed based on a completely randomised design (CRD) with the application of antagonists prior to, simultaneously, and after inoculation with C. beticola on sugarbeet leaves. The reduction in disease severity was evaluated seven days after inoculation. The results of greenhouse assays were consistent with the results of laboratory studies. The obtained results showed that bacterial antagonists significantly reduced the disease severity when compared to the control.
