Opis:: W niniejszym rozdziale przedstawiono wybrane metody zarządzania projektem technologicznym. Współczesna globalizacja otwiera przed przedsiębiorstwami zarówno wiele możliwości, jak i zagrożeń. Z tego względu niezwykle ważna staje się dla nich innowacyjność. Pod pojęciem „innowacyjności” rozumie się wdrażanie, opracowywanie, a także opatentowanie rozwiązań oraz działań skierowanych na szeroko rozumiany rozwój przedsiębiorstwa. W poszukiwaniu odpowiedniej metodyki wdrażania nowej technologii pojawiają się zatem metody konwencjonalne (określane także mianem tradycyjnych) oraz niekonwencjonalne (określane także mianem nowatorskich). Kluczowym aspektem niniejszego rozdziału jest krótka charakterystyka każdego z pojęć, a także przedstawienie najciekawszych, zdaniem autorek, metod wdrożeniowych.
This chapter presents selected methods of technological project management. Contemporary globalization brings many opportunities but also many threats, making it essential for companies to be innovative. Innovation refers to the implementation, development, and patenting of solutions and actions aimed at the broad development of the company. In search of the appropriate methodology for implementing new technology, conventional methods (also known as traditional) and unconventional methods (also known as innovative) emerge. The key aspect of this chapter is to briefly characterize each concept and present the most interesting implementation methods according to the authors.

Opis:: The article Changed results of studies conducted among middle management staff of one of the companies in construction and assembly of the knowledge of the methods and tools of project management and project managers competence. Employees who participated in the study, acting as contract manager and the object of their direct involvement investment plans are realized in the form of projects related to industrial insulation, scaffolding and assembly services in many areas of both construction and industrial applications. The choice of this group of respondents was not accidental, since the contract manager most often determine the success project. The study was conducted in one of the companies in Opole province. The study involved 16 respondents from 26 project managers employed by the company. The main objective of the study was to gain knowledge about the competence of project managers (contracts). Conducted for this purpose a survey which was anonymous and contained 29 questions. Questions related to the competence of the project manager. Competencies that have been studied are: technical, social, organizational and managerial. The results of the study were a surprise to both the investigator and the President of the company, because it turned out that the steering contracts employed by the company are not familiar with common methods and tools of project management. The reason for these results is the lack of use of the names of these methods the company. The company carries out its projects based on internal procedures "Service Delivery", which is part of the Quality Management System. The procedure is developed on the basis of the methods of project management. Although the project managers use the methods and techniques of project management, are not using their common names only the term "Service Delivery". Due to this fact cannot determine the technical competence of project managers in this factory.

Opis:: Planowanie projektu to nie tylko określenie czynności, które należy wykonać i ich ustrukturyzowanie, ale również identyfikacja czynników ryzyka, mogących mieć wpływ na przebieg projektu. W artykule omówiono procesy zarządzania ryzykiem w ramach metodyk tradycyjnych (klasycznych) oraz zwinnych (agile) w zarządzaniu projektami, zarówno w podejściu lekkim, jak i twardym. Ponadto przedstawiono rekomendacje dalszych badań, dotyczących opracowania odpowiednich procesów zarządzania ryzykiem dla projektów zarządzanych zwinnie.
Project planning is not only to determine the activities which have to be performed and structurized, but also to identify risk factors that may have an impact on progress of the project. The article discusses the risk management processes in project management methods within the traditional and agile, both in the approach of light and space. Furthermore recommendations for further studies on the development of appropriate risk management processes for projects managed agile are given.

Opis:: Motywacja: Motywacją do podjęcia tematu była chęć zwrócenie uwagi na mankamenty oraz walory poszczególnych koncepcji, w szczególności grupy metodyk zwinnych oraz tradycyjnych dla projektów informatycznych. Cel: Głównym celem jest wykazanie statystycznej opłacalności migracji do metodyk lepiej dopasowanych w przypadku branży adaptacyjnej, w jakiej operują przedsiębiorstwa wytwarzające oprogramowanie. Celem szczegółowym jest wykazanie pozytywnych zależności, w przypadku prawidłowego doboru koncepcji zarządzania do oczekiwań klienta oraz zespołu projektowego. Materiały i metody: Wnioski opracowano na podstawie analizy porównawczej grupy metodyk, a także przez weryfikację badań przeprowadzonych przez przedsiębiorstwo Scott Ambler + Associates. Wyniki: W konkluzji stwierdzono przede wszystkim, że nie ujmując tradycyjnemu podejściu do zarządzania, nie wpisuje się ono do kanonu nowoczesnych i adaptacyjnych technik, które sprostałyby wymaganiom stawianym w dobie globalizacji przez elastyczne projekty informatyczne. Ponadto, na podstawie analizy odpowiedzi respondentów, można dostrzec, jak drastycznie zmiana podejścia do całego cyklu projektowego wpływa na prawdopodobieństwo sukcesu oraz niweluje nieporozumienia na linii klient-wykonawca.
Motivation: The motivation to raise the issue was to draw attention to disadvantages as and advantages of various project management concepts, in particular the group of agile and traditional methodologies within information technology (IT) projects. Aim: The aim was to demonstrate the statistical profitability of migration to the methodologies better suited for the adaptive industry in which the software-producing enterprises operate. The detailed aim was to show positive dependencies, if the management concept is correctly selected to meet the expectations of the client and the project. Materials and methods: The conclusions were based on a comparative analysis of a group of methodologies, as well as a verification of the research carried out by Scott Ambler + Associates company. Results: The conclusion was that the traditional approach to project management does not fit into the canon of modern and adaptive techniques, that would meet the requirements set in the era of globalization by flexible IT projects. In addition, the analysis of responses provided by the respondents shows how drastically a change in approach to the entire project cycle affects the probability of success and reduces misunderstandings between client and contractor.

Badania dotyczyły wykorzystania zarządzania projektami oraz wiedzy menedżerów i pracowników tych przedsiębiorstw w zakresie tej metody.
The use of project management methods in a small and medium enterprises may be a main impulse for their technical and organizational development and give them a lot of other benefits. The article presents the results of the research, which were carried out in 215 small and medium enterprises operating in the province of Silesia. The research focused on the use of project management and also the knowledge of the managers and employees of these enterprises, in terms of this method.

Opis:: Celem pracy jest analiza, projektowanie, badanie i praktyczne zastosowanie metod modelowania procesów zarządzania zorientowanego projektowo systemów transgranicznych i jednostek operacyjno-ratowniczych dotyczących likwidacji sytuacji nadzwyczajnych. W pracy wykorzystano geometryczną metodę badania relacji programów i projektów w dziedzinie integracji międzynarodowej i zarządzania systemami transgranicznymi i jednostkami operacyjno-ratowniczymi. Przedstawione wyniki badań naukowych pozwalają na podstawie analizy, selekcji i poprawy elementu ze zbioru modeli geometrii stosowanej zaproponować skuteczną metodę geometryczną badania dynamiki procesów geometrycznych i optymalizacji poszczególnych elementów zarządzania projektami, programami i portfelami poprzez osiągnięcie wystarczającej mobilności sił i środków drużyn operacyjno-ratowniczych. Wyniki badań pozwoliły zaproponować skuteczne modele geometryczne, które biorą pod uwagę odpowiednią liczbę badanych parametrów procesu parametrycznego w przestrzeni stanów systemu zarządzania programami i projektami w dziedzinie integracji międzynarodowej i wdrażania systemów transgranicznych i zespołów operacyjno-ratowniczych. Stosowanie proponowanych modeli wykorzystujących metody zastosowanej geometrii wielowymiarowej w przestrzeni pozwala graficznie i wizualnie za pomocą prostych operacji geometrycznych na zbadanie ogólnych i częściowych przypadków interakcji sił i zasobów w procesie zarządzania projektowego i organizacyjnego jednostek ratowniczych. Geometryczne środki dają możliwość oceny stopnia mobilności sił i środków służb ratowniczych i skuteczności działań w sytuacjach nadzwyczajnych.
Objective: Analysis, design, research and practical use of modeling methods of processes of project-oriented management of transboundary systems and operational and rescue subdivisions of emergency response/ situations liquidation. Methods: Geometric research method of intercommunication of programs and projects in international integration field and management of transboundary systems and operational rescue subdivisions. Results: Results of scientific research based on the analysis, selection, improving of the element from the set of models of applied geometry permit to offer effective geometric research method of processes of dynamics and optimization of individual elements at the office projects management, programs and portfolios of projects by achieving sufficient mobility of forces and means of operational rescue subdivisions, ensuring at the proper ratio of parameters for the purposes of general system of project-oriented control ensuring high efficiency of interaction of added formations of neighboring countries at extinguishing fires and mitigation of accidents and natural disasters. Conclusions: The studies allowed to offer effective geometric models that take into account sufficient number of parameters of parametric process in the state space of management system of programs and projects in the field of international integration and implementation of cross-border system and operational rescue subdivisions. The application of proposed models using methods of applied multidimensional geometry in the parameter space formed by a number of different dimensions, allows figuratively and graphically by simple geometric operations to explore general and partial cases of interactions of forces and means in the process of office project organizational management added by rescue groups. Geometric means/tools enable to assess the degree of mobility of forces and means of rescue formations and effectiveness of the action liquidation of emergency situation.

Opis:: The main aim of this study is to analyse the development trends of project management with the focus on the management of IT projects. The initial parts of the work are devoted to the analysis of the concepts concerning project management and their relation to the management of processes. Next, the author defines the basic determinants of IT projects' management. The subsequent part of this work concerns the evolution of the IT project life cycle in project management methodologies. In the final part of this study the author characterized modern project management methodologies and analyzed the trends in their development.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tendencji rozwojowych zarządzania projektami ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zarządzania projektami IT. Pierwsza część pracy poświęcona jest analizom pojęć, związanych z zarządzaniem projektami i ich stosunku do zarządzania procesami. Następnie autor definiuje podstawowe determinanty zarządzania projektami IT. W dalszej części pracy poruszane jest zagadnienie ewolucji IT i cyklu życia projektu w metodologii zarządzania projektami. W końcowej części pracy autor charakteryzuje nowoczesne metody zarządzania projektami i analizy tendencji w ich rozwoju.

Opis:: The article discusses experiences gained while integrating adaptive methods of project management with business processes management in a business organization, based on the research undertaken in SESCOM company in Gdańsk, Poland. The aim of the article is to formalize the authors' model of ABPM (Agile Business Process Management), dedicated to re-orienting the traditional process organization towards constructing adaptive, minimalistic process models, taking into consideration the Agile methods of workflow software development and long-term life-cycles of infrastructure connected with IT processes. Opis:: The article analyses literary sources that describe non-traditional methods of project management that can be applied to projects protecting people and territories from emergency situations in the constantly changing environment. Presented are the main features of projects for protecting people and territories from emergency situations. Two types of flexible and extreme project management, which is best suited for such projects, are considered. The definition and main features of flexible project management are presented, as well as the basic principles and methods of flexible control, such as: Scrum, Lean, Extreme Programming (data as of 2018), with the main advantages and disadvantages shown. The positive and negative aspects of extreme management are analyzed, too. The use of these techniques will be effective if the project is in an environment of uncertainty and has no limited resources. In practice the implementation of such approaches in the projects for the protection of population and territories from emergency situations will have a positive effect, provided that all performers will share the principles of flexible management. The possibility of avoiding financial constraints on the implementation of such projects has been shown.
W artykule dokonano analizy literatury opisującej metody zarządzania projektami, które mogą być zastosowane do projektów ochrony osób i terytoriów przed sytuacjami kryzysowymi. Przedstawiono główne cechy projektów ochrony ludności i terytoriów będących lub mogących być w kryzysie. Rozważono dwa rodzaje elastycznego i ekstremalnego zarządzania projektami, które najlepiej sprawdzają się w tego typu projektach. Przedstawiono definicję i główne cechy elastycznego zarządzania projektami. Ponadto omówiono podstawowe zasady i metody elastycznego sterowania, takie jak: Scrum, Lean, Extreme Programming. Podano statystyki za rok 2018 dotyczące wykorzystania tych metod przez kierowników projektów. Określono główne zalety i wady tego typu zarządzania. Zaproponowano definicję i zakres ekstremalnego zarządzania projektami oraz wskazano pozytywne i negatywne aspekty tego podejścia. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań ustalono, że stosowanie tych technik będzie skuteczne, jeśli projekt znajduje się w środowisku niepewności i nie ma ograniczonych zasobów. W praktyce zastosowanie takich podejść w projektach ochrony ludności i terytoriów przed sytuacjami kryzysowymi będzie miało pozytywny efekt pod warunkiem, że wszyscy wykonawcy będą podzielać zasady elastycznego zarządzania.

Opis:: Purpose: Presentation of selected methods of project and data analysis - describes how data on ongoing projects should be collected, so that it can be used later, by applying the appropriate methodology. Design/methodology/approach: Literature research of the subject was carried out. Finding: Having a methodology for data collection leads, in the long term, to the implementation of a system that allows the use of this methodology. The system should provide information to help make better decisions, reducing or eliminating the risk of project failure. Practical implications: Development of a methodology of data collection and analysis on this basis. Originality/value: The implemented projects are comparable with each other and, on this basis, it can be argued that identifying the risks that have occurred in the past, during the implementation of various stages of projects, can contribute to more effective risk management during the implementation of current and future projects.

A great number of academic researchers studied the field of project manager's competencies, its impact on project success and correlation to project performance and key characteristics of a project environment. The aim of this literature study was to analyze methodological aspects of aforementioned studies in order to identify research patterns applied, research instruments used, respondents' profiles and others. It's understandable that publications related to competencies of project managers can be found in leading project management journals. These articles constituted also a basis of the analysis. Furthermore, publications considered were narrowed to those focused on at least one of three appointed aspects, namely identification of competencies, their evaluation or relative importance assessment. Over a dozen of articles were obtained as the outcome of journals review. Key characteristics of selected studies were systematically analyzed and compared, including, among others, construction of the respondents group, examined subset of competencies and the approach adopted to identification and evaluation of competencies. As a result some patterns and repeatable elements were found. Moreover, two identified contentious practices were discussed - usage of a self-assessment to evaluate performance of respondent and usage of project success criteria aimed at assessing the performance of a project manager.

Opis:: Dynamic growth of tourism business requires creation of new project attractive packages of services with corresponding quality and quantity. Expedient and relevant issue is the design and implementation of efficient and successful projects of socio–economic and innovative character in tourism, which need special methodology. The purpose of writing this article is to develop theoretical and methodological foundations of project management in tourist business. We applied general scientific and special research methods: analysis, synthesis, comparative characteristics, theoretical generalization, project approach. It was determined that the methodology of project management in tourism must take into account the main trends in the development of world tourism and local project view, aimed at cooperation and integration of local, regional and global tourist projects in accordance with the forecast of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). It was shown that in the project management they distinguish 9 functional branches, the main of which are the management of the subject area of the project (the contents), management of quality, time, cost, and additional – management of staff, communications, contracts, risks and integration of projects. The basis of the methodology of project management in tourism is the analysis of the needs of tourists in the target market and capabilities of tourist operator to satisfy them by using methods of observation, comparison, intuition, logic, applying the tools of marketing management. It was concluded that the methodology of project management implies consistent and interconnected implementation of the functions of management of tourism activity by the use of methods, tools, techniques and methodology of research in tourism. Management of tourism projects requires taking into account the features of tourist services with regular fluctuations in demand, changes in space and time, inseparability from the source (destination) and the impossibility to store. The scientific novelty of the research is in determining the methodology of project management in tourism, which covers integrated system of functions, methods, means and tools of planning and fulfillment of projects, taking into account the priorities of the development of tourism and resource and service facilities of enterprises in tourism industry, aimed at identifying future needs of tourists during their trip even before the completion of the project. The practical significance of obtained results is to apply the features of the methodology of project management in tourism business to obtain socio–economic synergy that will manifest itself in successful completion of the project, increasing the competitiveness of a destination, where the results of tourism project are implemented. Further research might be promising in the direction of modeling the development of tourist industry in Ukraine, taking into account the features of the methodology of project management in tourism business.
Динамічний розвиток туристичного бізнесу потребує створення нових проектних атрактивних пакетів послуг відповідної якості й кількості. Доцільним і актуальним питанням є розробка і впровадження ефективних і результативних проектів соціально-економічного й інноваційного характеру в туризмі, які потребують особливої методології. Мета написання статті полягає в розробці теоретико-методологічних основ проектного менеджменту в туристичному бізнесі. Застосовано загальнонаукові та спеціальні методи досліджень: аналіз, синтез, порівняльних характеристик, теоретичного узагальнення, проектний підхід. Визначено, що методологія проектного менеджменту в туризмі має враховувати основні закономірності розвитку світового туризму й локального проектного світогляду, спрямованих на взаємодію й інтеграцію місцевих, регіональних і глобальних туристичних проектів відповідно до прогнозів Всесвітньої туристичної організації (ЮНВТО). З’ясовано, що в проектному менеджменті виділяють 9 функціональних галузей, основні з яких – менеджмент предметної галузі проекту (змісту), менеджмент якості, часу, вартості, а додаткові – менеджмент персоналу, комунікацій, контрактів, ризиків й інтеграції проектів. В основу методології проектного менеджменту в туризмі покладено аналіз потреб туристів на цільовому ринку й можливостей туристичного оператора задовольнити їх із застосуванням методів спостереження, порівняння, інтуїції, логіки, використанням інструментів маркетингового менеджменту. Зроблено висновок, що методологію проектного менеджменту становлять послідовна і взаємопов’язана реалізація функцій менеджменту туристичної діяльності шляхом використання методів, способів, прийомів і методик дослідження в туризмі. Для менеджменту туристичних проектів необхідний облік особливостей туристичних послуг із постійними коливаннями попиту, змінами якості у просторі та часі, невіддільністю від джерела (дестинації), неможливістю зберігання. Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у визначенні методології проектного менеджменту в туризмі, яка охоплює інтегровану систему функцій, методів, способів та інструментів планування й реалізації проектів, враховуючи пріоритети розвитку туризму і ресурсно-сервісні можливості підприємств туристичної індустрії, спрямовані на визначення майбутніх потреб туристів під час їх подорожі ще до завершення проекту. Практичне значення дослідження – використання особливостей методології проектного менеджменту в туристичному бізнесі з метою отримати соціально-економічний синергетичний ефект, який виявиться в успішному завершенні проекту, підвищенні конкурентоспроможності дестинації, де впроваджуватимуться результати туристичного проектування. У перспективі подальші дослідження можна спрямувати у бік моделювання розвитку туристичної галузі в Україні з урахуванням особливостей методології проектного менеджменту в туристичному бізнесі.

Opis:: Purpose: The subject of interest of this article is reengineering and restructuring. The purpose of the article is to answer the question: is remedial restructuring carried out using reengineering methods more efficient, i.e. is a greater percentage of the assumed restructuring goals achieved in a given unit of time than in a project carried out without using this method? Design/methodology/approach: The process of restructuring management described in the article is supported by a case study of a company dealing with production of pumps. The case study shows how effective the reengineering method is for managing corrective change. The restructuring project described in the article was aimed at eliminating unproductive processes in the company, and then leading to the development of the company by conducting organizational changes and radical rebuilding of the company's business processes. Findings: Conclusions from the case study analysis provide clear evidence that remedial restructuring using reengineering is much more efficient than in a traditional project. Originality/value: The article supplements knowledge in the field of change management. The conclusions presented in it regarding the usefulness of the reengineering method when conducting remedial processes in enterprises can be used by change managers as an indication to successfully carry out restructuring implementations.
