Flexicurity is a policy of flexible and secure labour market. It has been the subject of many analyses, however, a coherent evaluation methodology is difficult to specify. The purpose of this paper is to propose a Data Envelopment Analysis based model for the evaluation of the efficiency of flexicurity implementation in OECD countries. The results will be used to create the ranking of countries, to determine changes in time, and to identify the reasons for inefficiency. On top of that, it will be possible to formulate recommendations for decision makers.

The aim of the research was to create such a calculation model for the air defense efficiency that will enable to determine the degree of implementation of the task by anti-aircraft defense forces in combat conditions. The innovative approach to the efficiency of air defense presented in the article focuses on the methods and algorithms enabling the assessment of the feasibility of the air defense task. In its general form, it is based on the determination of the probable number of air assault assets intended for the implementation of an air task (destruction, incapacitation, disorganization of the cover object) and the possibility of air defense sets (means) to repel an air attack. The research was conducted with the use of qualitative methods – when determining the elements of protection or tactical and technical data. The results of the presented research can be implemented in the command process in air defense.

The article presents the results of numerical simulation of a laser-guided bomb, which is dropped in calm weather conditions. The prototype of such a bomb was developed at the Air Force Institute of Technology. It was a result of the modification process of the classical training bomb. The modification consisted of building on the bomb's board a detection system to track targets that are designated by laser and a control system to adjust bomb’s glide path to precisely strike the target. In the simulation research, geometric and mass characteristics of the classical training bomb were used. Aerodynamic characteristics of the bomb have been determined using commercial software PRODAS. Using the mathematical model of the bomb spatial motion and model of the laser detection system series of simulations were performed. The main goal was to determine the effectiveness of the adopted construction solution. Therefore, simulations were performed for various initial positions of the bomb and fixed position of the target. It allowed finding the set of control laws coefficients giving the most accuracy of the bomb. The influence of structural modifications of the detection system on the possibility of effective detection and location of the target was also investigated. In the article, exemplary results of numerical calculations performed with the author's software are also shown.

Opis:
A methodical approach for the determination of economic and socio-environmental costs in the application of the city consolidation center at the micro level was proposed and tested on real data. Two options of urban delivery of small shipments are considered, in particular, for e-commerce - direct delivery and delivery through the micro-consolidation center. The system of indicators proposed in this work allows a detailed assessment of the economic component of direct and consolidated delivery, including transportation costs, the functioning of the consolidation center costs and costs for pedestrian delivery to the residential district customers. Socio-economic indicators allow considering the interests of other residents of the city, suffering from a dense traffic flow and harmful emissions from freight vehicles. The proposed method of integrated assessment was tested on real data of a micro district of the city. The results made it possible to estimate the proportion of each component of expenditures in the economic, socio-environmental and total costs for both delivery options. The analysis of the sensitivity of costs to changes in the input parameters showed the difference in the strength of influence, and the rating of influencing factors. The proposed method allows us to estimate the economic costs of all participants in the urban delivery process for small shipments, as well as to prove the rationality of using micro-consolidation to serve a micro district of a large city.

When implementing projects on motor roads, financial and economic analysis of specific projects are usually provided. This article deals with the mathematical model which enables to analyze the entirety of projects on the motor road network with the view of determining which of them would give benefit to society the fastest and could be given priority in case of implementation. By applying this model and using the LP search (abbreviation from Russian Linear search) multi-criteria optimizing method, it is possible to calculate the project payoff time and an expected profit through the reduction of public costs. Also, an example on realization of the model is provided with calculation of the benefit that society receives if gravel road is paved.

This paper evaluates the efficiency of metal recovery from printed circuit boards (PCBs) using two gravity separation devices: a shaking table and a cyclofluid separator. The test results were compared with the results obtained from previous research, where an electrostatic separation process was used for an identically prepared feed. The feed for the separators consisted of PCBs shredded in a knife mill at cryogenic temperatures. The separation efficiency and purity of the products were evaluated based on microscopic analysis, ICP-AES, SEM-EDS, XRD, and specific density. The yield of concentrates (valuable metals) obtained from the shaking table and the cyclofluid separator amounted to 25.7% and 18.9%, respectively. However, the concentrate obtained from the cyclofluid separator was characterised by much higher purity, amounting to ~88% of valuable metals, compared to ~72% for the shaking table. In both cases, middlings formed a significant share, their yield amounting to ~25%, with the share of valuable metals of ~15%. The yield of waste obtained from the shaking table and the cyclofluid separator were 42.6% and 52.5%, respectively. In both cases, as a result of the applied process, the waste was divided into two homogeneous groups differing in grain size and shape. The recovery of metals through gravity separation is possible, in particular, by using a shaking table. These processes can also be applied to separate waste (plastics) into two groups to be selectively processed to produce new materials in line with a circular economy.

The purpose of this article is to indicate the most effective chemical agents used for winter road maintenance. The research included the examination of melting speeds of snow and ice under various chemical agents, such as: calcium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and potassium formate. The research done proved that aggregate mixed with calcium chloride is the most efficient compound for removing winter road slipperiness. However, in view of the necessity of environmental protection, the use of chemical agents for maintaining roads during winter must be strictly controlled in practice.

In the systems of the exploitation of means of transport in order to assure correct carrying out of the assigned transport tasks, it is necessary to maintain the required number of vehicles in the state of task availability. It is obtained as a result of carrying out of service and repair processes at the traffic maintenance subsystem posts. From the point of view of the effectiveness of the operation of the systems of the exploitation of means of transport, the damaged technological objects should be serviced in the shortest possible time. In the case of the system of the exploitation of means of transport the task of the traffic maintenance subsystem is the servicing of the required number of damaged means of transport over the assigned time interval defined by the transport task timetable. One of the methods of the evaluation of the degree of carrying out of the processes at the traffic maintenance subsystem posts is defining the efficiency of the posts of the subsystem. This paper presents the method of defining the efficiency of traffic maintenance subsystem in the system of the exploitation of means of transport measured by the probability value of servicing of the required number of technological objects over the assigned time interval. The resulting characteristics were presented on a general basis as well as in the form of exponential distribution and Erlang distribution. Moreover, for the utilization data obtained in tests carried out in an actual means of transport system the values of the analyzed characteristics were defined. The evaluation of the efficiency of the traffic maintenance subsystem posts may serve as the basis of decision making as to the change of the number and type of the used service and repair posts in the tested system as well as modification of the carried out exploitation strategy. The suggested method may be used for individual post, a group of posts of a given type as well as for a subsystem of traffic maintenance analyzed as a whole.
W systemach eksploatacji środków transportu, w celu zapewnienia prawidłowej realizacji przydzielonych zadań przewozowych, konieczne jest utrzymywanie wymaganej liczby pojazdów w stanie zdatności zadaniowej. Uzyskiwane jest to w wyniku realizacji procesów obsługowo-naprawczych na stanowiskach podsystemu utrzymania ruchu. Z punktu widzenia efektywności działania systemu eksploatacji środków transportu, uszkodzone obiekty techniczne powinny zostać uzdatnione w możliwie najkrótszym czasie. W przypadku systemu eksploatacji środków transportu, zadaniem podsystemu utrzymania ruchu jest uzdatnienie wymaganej liczby uszkodzonych środków transportu, w przeznaczonym na ten cel przedziale czasu, określonym harmonogramem realizowanych zadań przewozowych. Jednym ze sposobów oceny stopnia realizacji procesów na stanowiskach podsystemu utrzymania ruchu jest wyznaczenie wydajności stanowisk tego podsystemu. W artykule przedstawiono metodę wyznaczania wydajności stanowisk podsystemu utrzymania ruchu w systemie eksploatacji środków transportu, mierzonej wartością prawdopodobieństwa uzdatnienia wymaganej liczby obiektów technicznych w przeznaczonym na ten cel przedziale czasu. Opracowane charakterystyki zostały przedstawione w sposób ogólny oraz dla rozkładu wykładniczego i rozkładu Erlanga. Następnie dla danych eksploatacyjnych, uzyskanych z badań przeprowadzonych w rzeczywistym systemie eksploatacji środków transportu, wyznaczono wartości analizowanych charakterystyk. Ocena wydajności stanowisk podsystemu utrzymania ruchu może stanowić podstawę podjęcia decyzji o zmianie liczby i typu stosowanych stanowisk obsługowo-naprawczych w badanym systemie oraz modyfikacji realizowanej strategii eksploatacyjnej. Zaproponowana metoda może być zastosowana zarówno dla pojedynczego stanowiska, zespołu stanowisk danego typu oraz dla podsystemu utrzymania ruchu analizowanego jako całość.

The aim of the paper is to define the motor operating parameters, developed powers, energy losses and efficiencies and also to show the respective relations. Conclusions are drawn, based on the analyses of presented definitions and relations, on the motor energy investigations.

The use of braces is one of the conservative treatment approaches recommended for scoliotic subjects. However, the main question posted here is how to improve the efficiency of braces to control the scoliotic curve or to decrease its progression. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of various boundary conditions (endpoint control) of brace on the correction of scoliotic curves. Method: CT scan images of a scoliotic subject, with double lumbar and thoracic curves, was used to produce 3d model of spine. The correction of spine (decrease in scoliotic curves) was determined following the use of transverse (lateral-to-medial direction) and the combination of transverse and vertical (upward-directed force, traction) forces on spine in Abaqus software. The effects of pelvic fixation (pelvic basket of a brace) on both sides (basket enclosed pelvic in both sides), on one side (basket enclosed the pelvis in only one side), and fixation of lumbar (part of the brace encircled the lumbar area) were evaluated in this study. Results: The results of this study showed that the effect of vertical forces (traction) was more than that of transverse force. Moreover, the combination of vertical and transverse forces on lumbar and thoracic curves correction was more than that of other conditions (only transverse forces). The best correction was achieved with lumbar fixation and with combination of vertical and transverse forces. Conclusions: The use the combination of vertical and transverse forces may be suggested to correct the scoliotic curve. Moreover, the efficiency of lumbar fixation in frontal plane seems to be more than pelvic fixation to correct scoliotic curve. The outputs of this study can be used to design new braces for scoliotic subjects.

The article presents the issue of assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of a logistics process with the use of a simulation model and queue theory. The process that has been analyzed is the process of goods’ delivery at the technical object. Firstly, a literature review was carried out. Next, the authors described the process using the QT (Queueing Theory). This was possible due to the fact that QT is widely used in the analysis of systems as well as the assessment of their effectiveness, maintenance, and reliability. The description, characteristics and graphic presentation of the system in which the process is carried out have been included in the study too. Then the process was implemented in the computer simulation environment. Simulations were carried out and four variants of the system operation were analyzed. The comparison of the operating parameters of the system for each variant allowed for a detailed analysis of its operation and the influence of selected factors on the implementation of the process as well as it effectiveness or reliability.

In the paper the results of measurement of the most popular aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene and xylenes) in the exhaust of spark ignition engine before and after three-way catalytic reactor were presented. The investigations have been conducted at fixed rotational speed, 2500 rpm and at a few different values of torque in range 0 – 80 Nm, every 10 Nm. Based on obtained results, the calculations of catalytic reactor efficiency in removing analysed components have been made. The measurements showed high efficiency of the catalytic converter in reduction of that pollutants in exhaust gases.

In the paper, an evaluation of the efficiency of the application of ERP class integrated systems and BI tools was carried out, through analysis of two cases micro-and-small enterprises (MSEs). An analysis of the observed successes allowed precise definition of key factors in their successes or failures, in the scope of the efficiency of BI tools application in management. Confirmed rules for guaranteeing of unconditional compatibility of the contents of data warehouses with the transactional databases are, in the opinion of the author, a necessary condition for long-term success with BI application in decisions-making processes. The solutions proposed in the paper for a data processing organisation system were effectively verified over several years’ use at the POZKAL printing house in Inowroclaw. Such solutions force compatibility of transactional databases with data warehouse contents, an area often underestimated by the authors of other publications in this area.

W pracy omówiono podstawowe problemy ochrony środowiska wodnego w kontekście eksploatacji składowiska odpadów o ograniczonej infrastrukturze technicznej. Przeprowadzone badania, jakości wód podziemnych i odciekowych podczas zaawansowanej eksploatacji tj. w latach 2006-2008 po okresie zimowych roztopów, poddano szczegółowej analizie, w tym porównawczej, w której uwzględniono zmienność składu zarówno wód podziemnych na napływie i odpływie jak i odcieków gromadzonych na terenie składowiska. W ocenie środowiskowej uwzględniono elementy składowe konstrukcji eksploatowanego składowiska, a także rodzaj, ilość i pochodzenie deponowanych odpadów.Szczegółowa analiza na tle wyników przeprowadzonych badań, umożliwiła przede wszystkim dokonanie oceny sprawności systemu odwodnienia składowiska, ze wskazaniem rozwiązania dla ochrony środowiska wodnego w kontekście przy-rostu masy deponowanych odpadów komunalnych zbieranych w sposób nieselektywny.
The work discusses the basic issues of protection of the aquatic environment in the context of the operation of the facility, with reduced infrastructure support. Survey, the quality of groundwater and the wastewater during the advanced service in the years 2006-2008 after a period of winter the meltdown, were analysed, including benchmarking, which takes into account the variability in the composition of both the groundwater in-flow opacimeter and outflow and leachate collected in the landfill. In assessing the environment includes the components of the compromised sites, as well as the type, quantity and origin of deposited waste. The detailed analysis of the background of the results of the analyses carried out, requires above all to assess the efficiency of the system for the dehydration of the landfill, with an indication of the solutions for the protection of the aquatic environment in the context of the increase of mass deposited of municipal waste not selectively collected.
