Opis:: This paper aims to show the influence of 20th century quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity on the philosophical problems of Darwin’s theory of biological evolution. Evolution as a non-relativistic being can be attributed only to the process as a whole. Quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity are not compatible with the evolution process of separate elements of the system. It seems to be in contradiction to Darwin’s theory of evolution as a slow and gradual process of separate elements in the biological system. According to many scientists and philosophers of science the Darwin’s theory does not explain the whole Universe evolution as well as does not explain the origin of life. Explanation of events and processes, reliance on concepts not laws, refutation of typology by Darwin theory of evolution are not established by standards of scientific reasoning. Many scientific facts from modern physics indicate that Darwin’s theory of evolution is in crisis.

Opis:: The theory of biological evolution by natural selection and the theory of levels of biological organization are general concepts intended to enable understanding of the existence of biological matter defined as living organisms that reproduce sexually. These two theories were formulated independently of each other, but later their integration was postulated. This study is an attempt to implement such a postulate. The starting point is the statement that both theories concern the way in which biological matter composed of individuals constituting populations exists. The theory of biological organization is intended to explain the functioning of organisms by maintaining homeostasis (relative independence from the environment) during the life cycle, while the theory of evolution concerns the changes that populations undergo in response to a changing environment.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia trzy główne stanowiska w sporze o początek i rozwój życia na Ziemi. Kreacjonizm to najstarszy pogląd, utrzymujący, że gatunki roślin i zwierząt pochodzą od Boga. Opis tego procesu znajdujemy w początkowych rozdziałach Starego Testamentu. Publikacja Karola Darwina pt. On the Origin in Species z 1859 roku była początkiem nowego nurtu myślowego o nazwie ewolucjonizm. Uważano bowiem, że gatunki ewoluują na drodze doboru naturalnego. Na przestrzeni lat teoria ewolucji się rozwijała, szczególnie za sprawą powstania genetyki i biologii molekularnej. Stała się też narzędziem walki z wiarą chrześcijańską. Trzecie stanowisko – Teoria Inteligentnego Projektu – jest próbą wykorzystania nauki, aby wesprzeć stanowisko kreacjonistyczne. Zwolennicy tego poglądu poszukują przykładów w świecie przyrody, które podważają istnienie ewolucji w przyrodzie. Spotykają się jednak z zarzutami natury metodologicznej.
The article presents three main attitudes in the dispute about the origin and development of life on Earth. Creationism is the oldest view, which claims that species of plants and animals originate from God. Detailed description of this process we can find in the initial chapters of the Old Testament. Publication of Charles Darwin’s book On the Origin in Species was the beginnig of the new thought called evolutionism. People thought the species are evolving by natural selection. Theory of evolution was evolving over the years due to genetic and molecular biology. This theory has become a fighting tool with the Christian faith. The third attitude – Intelligent Design Theory – is an attempt to use science to support Creationism. Supporters of this view are searching for the examples inside nature, which might undermine the existence of evolution. However, they meet with the accusations of methodological nature.
