Opis:
Purpose: The main purpose of the paper is to prove that every organizational structure of a medium and large organization has its basic construction (archetype). An attempt was also made to develop its measurement tool. Design/methodology/approach: The purpose execution is based on a critical literature review, as well as the use of a fractal calculus in measuring the simplicity (complexity) of the archetype. Findings: The concept of archetype is defined, i.e. the solution of the dual organizational problem of differentiation and organizational integration adopted on the second “top” hierarchy level. The archetype, understood in this way, shapes the organizational order, in spite of small changes in the structure, made on a small scale, and contributing to the organization’s identity. A method for measuring the complexity (simplicity) of the archetype has also been proposed. and may be helpful in simplifying structural solutions. Originality/value: An original archetype measurement tool may be helpful in simplifying structural solutions.

Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to present the concept of providing organizational structure with necessary stability and variability. Design/methodology/approach: The concept draws from the results of a case study on the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), an organization that dates back to the first half of the sixteenth century, whose leaders assure great adaptive capacity, as well as stability and identity at the same time. Findings: The article sheds light on combining stability and variability during the structuring of organizations and presents a new approach, which builds on the principles of continuity and simplicity. Originality/value: Unlike the well-known organization life cycle models, which consider the organizational structure as a relatively stable element, that is subject to significant transformations when progressing through the life cycle phases, the presented concept favors evolutionary development of structures based on dynamic focusing of continuity and simplicity. The simultaneous observance of both principles has not yet been presented in the literature.

Rozważania, zawarte w opracowaniu, skoncentrowane są na analizie struktury organizacyjnej przemysłu węgierskiego. Przyjętym kryterium Jest wielkość przedsiębiorstwa według liczby zatrudnionych. Autorka wykazuje że przemysł węgierski jest nadmiernie skoncentrowany przy jednoczesnym jego terytorialnym i technicznym rozproszeniu. W drugiej części wykazano, że zmiany w przemysłowych organizacjach polegały m.in. na przejmowaniu ich funkcji bądź to przez administracyjne jednostki zwierzchnie bądź przez inne organizacje gospodarcze. Prowadziło to do osłabienia ekonomicznej efektywności przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych. W końcu Autorka formułuje postulat unowocześnienia struktury organizacyjnej przemysłu węgierskiego.

The state is, by definition, an organization with a specific internal and external structure, which indicates a thematic area of activity for individual “contractors." In this way, the scope of responsibility for definite institutions is outlined, ensuring the efficient functioning of the state. The structure of the Islamic State in relation to its terrorist activity, usually depending on tasks, is basically based on institutions, individuals, and the structure of cells, drawing their inspiration from the slogans and doctrines of radical Islam. The elimination of an individual element of the structure does not lead to its total annihilation.

In order to accomplish the mission of a public radio it is necessary to manage the broadcasting time adequately, taking into account the mission-related objectives, such as production of programs focusing on matters important for local communities. Public radio should be perceived by the audience as a reliable and trustworthy source of information. At the same time it should compete for young listeners and improve attractiveness of the program without excessive commercialization. Therefore, being a public station, Radio Rzeszów SA broadcasts a wide variety of programs focusing on information, opinions, culture, entertainment, education and sport, in compliance with its mission. Moreover, the schedule of programs is designed taking into account the criteria for the preferred programs, as defined by the National Broadcasting Council. The numerous mission-related tasks of a public broadcasting entity include programs for national and ethnic minorities. Polskie Radio Rzeszów produces and broadcasts the most refined genres of radio journalism, such as reportage and radio drama.In Rzeszów Radio these are programs for Ukrainian and Łemko minorities. The related achievements are presented in the article, which also discusses the findings of Radio Rzeszów monitoring conducted by the National Broadcasting Council as well as a survey commissioned by us.

Employees in all organizations want to work in an environment of trust where they make a real contribution to achieve the goals and objectives. This article is on defining and measuring of organizational structure and its impact on the organizational effectiveness and trust. The population from which we drew our sample consisted of all employees of corporations operating in medium and large industries in Fars Province in Iran. The results have shown that there is a significant relationship between organizational structure and trust dimensions. Regarding to effectiveness dimensions, there is a significant relationship between organic structure and effectiveness, and there is no significant relationship between mechanistic structure and effectiveness dimensions. In addition the results of MANOVA indicate that there are significant differences between industries from trust dimensions point of view.
Pracownicy wszystkich organizacji chcą pracować w atmosferze zaufania, gdzie wnoszą rzeczywisty wkład w realizację celów i zadań. Artykuł ma na celu określenie i pomiar struktury organizacyjnej i jej wpływ na efektywność organizacyjną i zaufanie. Populacja, z której zaczerpnięto próbę składała się ze wszystkich pracowników korporacji działających w średnich i dużych gałęziach przemysłu w Prowincji Fars w Iranie. Wyniki wykazały, że istnieje istotne powiązanie pomiędzy strukturą organizacyjną i wymiarami zaufania. W odniesieniu do wymiarów efektywności, występuje znaczący związek pomiędzy strukturą organiczną i efektywnością, a nie ma istotnej zależności pomiędzy strukturą mechanistyczną a wymiarami efektywności. Ponadto wyniki wielowymiarowej analizy wariancji MANOVA wskazują, że istnieją znaczne różnice między gałęziami przemysłu z punktu widzenia wymiarów zaufania.

Okazja jest sytuacją sprzyjającą organizacji w realizacji jej celów. Sytuacje pojawiające się w otoczeniu powstają na skutek zdarzeń w nim zachodzących, a to czy, dana sytuacja jest sprzyjająca bądź nie, zależy od dostępnego lub posiadanego potencjału firmy. Zdarzenia obserwowane są w ramach funkcji poszczególnych jednostek organizacyjnych. W niniejszym artykule przeanalizowano, jak zmieniają się struktury organizacyjne w zakresie funkcji badań i rozwoju, zaopatrzenia, marketingu oraz funkcji finansowej, a także ich przyporządkowanie do jednostek organizacyjnych. Prześledzono również trendy zmian w strukturach organizacyjnych, które następują wraz ze zmniejszaniem się wielkości przedsiębiorstwa, oraz związek form struktur organizacyjnych z identyfikacją okazji rynkowych. Związek ten przeanalizowano w zakresie następujących typów struktur organizacyjnych: struktura liniowa, struktura funkcjonalna, struktura liniowo-funkcjonalna, struktura sztabowo-liniowa, struktura pionów scalonych, struktura dywizjonalna, struktura kolegialna, struktura ogniw łączących, struktura zadaniowa, struktura macierzowa, struktura tensorowa, struktura hybrydowa, struktura procesowa, struktura sieciowa i struktura wirtualna. Analiza zależności między formami struktur organizacyjnych a identyfikacją okazji rynkowych jest wkładem do teorii struktur organizacyjnych, która jest raczej skromnie opisana w literaturze przedmiotu.
An opportunity is a situation that is favorable for an organization in achieving its objectives. Situations that arise in the environment are created by events in the environment, and whether a situation is favorable or not depends on the available or possessed potential and resources of the company. Events are observed within the functions of individual organizational units. This paper examines how organizational structures change in the R&D, procurement, marketing, and financial functions and their assignment to organizational units. It also analyses the trends of changes in organizational structures that occur as the size of the firm decreases and the relationship of the forms of organizational structures to the identification of market opportunities. This relationship was analyzed in terms of the following types of organizational structures: linear structure, functional structure, linear-functional structure, staff-linear structure, integrated division structure, divisional structure, collegial structure, link structure, task structure, matrix structure, tensor structure, hybrid structure, process structure, network structure, and virtual structure. The relationship between the forms of organizational structures and the identification of market opportunities is a contribution to the theory of organizational structures, which is rather modestly described in the literature.

There were 78 400 enterprises active in Albania in 2011, employing 180 800 people, of which 47% worked in 1,684 enterprises employing more than 20 people. These last enterprises represented 61 percent of the total turnover, and 75 percent of the total investments. These enterprises are predominantly in the industrial and construction sectors. Enterprises with 1-4 employees represent 91 percent of the total enterprises, and represent 14 percent of total turnover. Small enterprises are dominant in the service sector. Business in Albania is currently operating in a global environment, which has a great impact on the theory or practice of organizations, and also on the working behaviour of employees. This already complex environment, which is becoming increasingly dynamic, and growing competition, are also changing the way in which work is organized, as well as the solutions. Great opportunities are arising from a better understanding of Albanian contemporary organizations and the work environment. To take advantage of these opportunities, the trends regarding the relationship between organizational design and design work should be studied and identifi ed. The aim is to identify the potential patterns and the current trends and tendencies in Albanian organization design, providing useful knowledge in the fi eld of Albanian business practices, and future challenges for research in this direction.

The article describes the relation between information technology and the hierarchy complexity. It describes the typical functions of information technology and indicates that the interactive features contribute to changes in the complexity of organizational structure hierarchy. Then presents the results of studies made among 104 companies in Poland, which aimed to determine the complexity of the hierarchy in the three groups of companies: those that use information technology with implemented interactive functions, those that do not use this kind of technologies and those what use information technologies without interactive functions, but have implemented information functions.
W artykule opisano związek między technologiami informacyjnymi a złożonością hierarchii. Określono w nim typowe funkcje technologii informacyjnych i wykazano, że funkcje interaktywne w największym stopniu przyczyniają się do zmian złożoności hierarchii struktury organizacyjnej. Następnie zaprezentowano opracowanie wyników badań przeprowadzonych wśród 104 przedsiębiorstw w Polsce. Ich celem było określenie różnic w złożoności hierarchii dla trzech grup przedsiębiorstw: tych, wykorzystujących technologie informacyjne z zaimplementowanymi funkcjami interaktywnymi, tych, niewykorzystujących tego typu technologii oraz tych, które nie stosują funkcji interaktywnych, jednak dysponują funkcjami informacyjnymi.

Opis:
Using social network analysis for the studies of organizational structure allows to understand in more details the ways of real organizing of employees. The manner in which people work is the quotidian knowledge that is often not realized very well but it is essential for effective performance of a company. The article presents the research process that results in a picture of organizational structure reflected as the network of connections between employees. The studies are usually conducted with survey questions that are presented in the article (cooperation, information flow, the flow of knowledge and problem-solving, and finally the decision flow) and interpreted in the context of the analysis made in a real company. The network structure of an innovative IT company (125 employees) consisting of 3097 connections has been visualized and analyzed. We tested the assumptions regarding the degree of company integration, the level of centralization in decision making process, the way of task coordination and the possible blockages in the flow of knowledge. We also highlighted employees that were important in these areas and specified their roles.

W artykule opisano zagadnienie prostoty struktury organizacyjnej w celu zidentyfikowania kluczowych czynników mogących mieć wpływ na jej ukształtowanie. Zagadnienie to zostało poddane analizie w kontekście prostoty organizacji jako systemu. W pierwszej części artykułu wyjaśniono, że struktura organizacyjna jest jednym z elementów tego systemu a następnie omówiono, w jaki sposób można dokonać analizy tego elementu - rozgraniczając go od pozostałych elementów organizacji. W drugiej części dokonano analizy dostępnych doniesień literaturowych dotyczących prostoty organizacji - ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem raportu Global Simplicity Index - i na tej podstawie zestawiono listę kluczowych czynników, jakie wpływają na ukształtowanie struktury organizacyjnej.
The paper describes the problem of organizational structure simplicity, in order to identify key factors that can influence its shape. This problem is analyzed in the context of simplicity of organization understood as a system. In the first part of the article it is explained that organizational structure is one of the elements of this system and it is described how to analyze it without taking into account the rest of elements. In the second part of the article literature is analyzed, especially Global Simplicity Index Raport is considered. Based on that, the list of key factors influencing organizational structure is presented.
