Opis:: The work of a religion teacher involves constant contact with the students, parents, principals, other teachers, local parish priests and other ecclesiastics; this exposure increasingly often proves to be stress-inducing. It can also engender a sense of physical and mental fatigue. Therefore, teachers of religion constitute a professional group at high risk of professional burnout. The analysis undertaken in this paper aims to demonstrate how selected groups of religion teachers approach various aspects of professional burnout. The respondents involved in the study included teachers of religion from the Archdiocese of Warmia and the Diocese of Opole. The investigations relied on the diagnostic survey methodology, using the pertinent survey technique. An authorial questionnaire served as the principal tool of research. The respondents correctly identify different aspects of professional burnout. The opinions of the surveyed religion teachers are consistent with the findings of psychologists and educational experts. Respondents not only aptly define professional burnout, but also report the diverse determining factors behind it. Among other things, the latter include long-term stress related to teaching and behavioural support duties, poor cooperation between parents and religion teachers as well as a lack of commitment to religious instruction on the part of the students. Respondents are able to enumerate readily noticeable physical and psychological symptoms, as well as suggest preventive measures.

Opis:: W działalności wychowawczej, którą Kościół podejmuje wśród młodzieży, ważne miejsce zajmują rekolekcje szkolne. To dlatego katechetycy i pastoraliści coraz częściej zwracają uwagę nie tylko na tradycyjne formy organizacji rekolekcji szkolnych, ale także na innowacje pedagogiczne. Słusznie za istotne uznają nawiązanie do doświadczeń młodzieży. Współcześnie każdy uczestnik rekolekcji szkolnych potrzebuje wsparcia w rozpoznawaniu, rozumieniu i rozwiązywaniu aktualnych problemów. Jednym z nich jest „hejt internetowy”. Młodzież bezpośrednio lub pośrednio styka się z tym zjawiskiem. Zgodnie z zasadą wierności Bogu i człowiekowi dobrze przeprowadzone rekolekcje szkolne są okazją do podejmowania różnych zagadnień związanych z hejtowaniem w Internecie. Pozwalają podejmować to zagadnienie w kontekście przykazania miłości Boga i bliźniego oraz wartości chrześcijańskich. Mogą motywować uczestników do zmiany myślenia i postępowania w kwestiach związanych z hejtem. Wymagają jednak – obok dobrze przepowiadanego słowa Bożego i jego aktualizacji – innowacyjnych inicjatyw wychowawczych, które służą zapobieganiu hejtowi internetowemu wśród młodzieży. W czasie rekolekcji szkolnych warto zorganizować m.in. spotkanie z psychologiem i policjantem oraz z osobami, które są dla młodych autorytetem. To właśnie osoba znacząca może zachęcić młodzież do akceptacji zasad życia chrześcijańskiego i ich respektowania w codziennym życiu, m.in. w przestrzeni wirtualnej.
An important role in the educational activity of the Church for youth is played by school retreats. That is why catechism and pastoral scholars and practitioners are paying increasing attention not only to traditional forms of organisation of school retreats but also to educational innovations. They justifiably consider referring to young people’s experiences to be of significance. Nowadays, each participant in school retreats needs help to identify, understand, and solve topical problems; one of them is online hate. Young people face this phenomenon directly and indirectly. According to the principle of faithfulness in God and man, well-organised school retreats are an opportunity to tackle various issues related to online hate. They allow to discuss the problem in question in the context of Christian values as well as the commandment to love God and one’s neighbour. They can motivate participants to change the way of thinking and acting when it comes to hate. However, in addition to voicing the word of God and keeping it up to date, innovative educational initiatives are required to prevent online hate among the youth. During school retreats, it is worth organising sessions with, inter alia, psychologists, police officers or people who are role models for youth. For it is a role model who can encourage young people to embrace the rules of Christian life and follow them both in everyday life and on the internet.

Opis:: Work of the guidance counsellor focuses on care, education and preven-tion. The guidance counsellor supports students in the integral development. It helps them to overcome educational problems and co-works with parents. Usu-ally the activity is accompanied by his/her involvement in combating violence not only in school but also in the family. This article focuses on the basic operation of the guidance counsellor in executing “the Blue Card” procedure. The guidance counsellor’s participation in the work of interdisciplinary teams that have been appointed by the mayor or president of the city to take action to prevent domestic violence is described. Attention is drawn to possibilities governed by law to support a child from a family affected by the violence as well as to the need for professional devel-opment of teachers in the field of “the Blue Card” procedure. Only a qualified guidance counsellor, able to work in an interdisciplinary team or a workgroup can give appropriate assistance to child victims.

Opis:: Electronic aggression, a phenomenon currently taking place among young people, poses difficult tasks for teachers. They relate to primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in theschool environment and require the cooperation of headmasters, teachers and parents. The analyses undertaken in the study present the specificity of the activities of the religious education teacher aimed at preventing aggression among young people. Firstly, the scope of meaning of ‘electronic aggression’ has been given. Next, the multidimensionality of electronic aggression among the young has been pointed out. In this context, preventive measures taken by the religious education teacher in the school environment have been described. Aims, tasks and rules, as well as forms, methods and means necessary for the prevention of electronic aggression among young people have been brought to attention. The cooperation of the religious education teacher with the headmaster, parents and other teachers in carrying out the tasks set by the school prevention programme has been considered significant.

Opis:: Profilaktyka wypalenia zawodowego zapewnia nauczycielom religii optymalną pomoc i wsparcie w rozwijaniu umiejętności niezbędnych w radzeniu sobie ze stresem wywołanym czynnikami zewnętrznymi (np. niskim prestiżem zawodu nauczyciela religii, brakiem satysfakcjonujących kontaktów z uczniami i ich rodzicami, oczekiwaniami społecznymi i eklezjalnymi, koniecznością stałego podnoszenia kwalifikacji). Analizy podjęte w niniejszym artykule mają na celu ukazanie opinii wybranych grup respondentów (z archidiecezji warmińskiej i diecezji opolskiej) na temat sposobów przeciwdziałania wypaleniu zawodowemu wśród nauczycieli religii. Koncentrują się wokół różnych propozycji związanych z przeciwdziałaniem wypaleniu zawodowemu. Dowodzą, że nauczyciele religii dostrzegają potrzebę systematycznego wsparcia merytorycznego i metodycznego oraz duchowego ze strony osób odpowiedzialnych za permanentną formację. Za ważną uznają konstruktywną, prowadzoną w klimacie dialogu i zaufania, współpracę z dyrekcją szkoły, rodzicami, nauczycielami, proboszczami, wizytatorami i dyrektorami referatów katechetycznych. Respondenci postulują potrzebę poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań w zakresie profilaktyki wypalenia zawodowego oraz większą troskę o formację duchową.
Professional burnout prevention provides religion teachers with the optimum aid and support in developing the skills necessary to cope with stress caused by external factors (e.g. low prestige level of the religion teacher profession, lack of satisfying contact with students and their parents, social and ecclesial expectations, the need for constant professional development). The purpose of the analyses performed for this study is to show the opinions of selected groups of respondents (in the archdiocese of Warmia and the diocese of Opole) on ways of preventing professional burnout among religion teachers. They focus on various suggestions related to professional burnout prevention. They argue that religion teachers see the need for consistent support in various areas from the personnel responsible for permanent formation. They find it important to continue constructive cooperation with the school management, parents, teachers, parish priests, inspectors and heads of catechetical departments, conducted in an atmosphere of dialogue and trust. The respondents suggest the need to seek new solutions for professional burnout prevention and for improving the care of spiritual formation.

Opis:: Wykorzystywanie seksualne dzieci jest zjawiskiem, które występuje w różnych środowiskach społecznych. Temat ten obecnie pojawia się coraz częściej nie tylko w badaniach naukowych, ale także w debacie publicznej i w programach profilaktyczno-wychowawczych szkoły. Wciąż jednak brakuje opracowań poświęconych roli nauczania religii w przeciwdziałaniu wykorzystywaniu seksualnemu dzieci. Lekcje religii – z uwagi na ich wychowawczy wymiar i korelację z edukacją szkolną – odgrywają ważną rolę w działalności profilaktycznej. Stanowią odpowiednią przestrzeń do podejmowania inicjatyw w zakresie przeciwdziałania wykorzystywaniu seksualnemu dzieci. W nowych dokumentach programowych nauczania religii w szkole podstawowej wielokrotnie zwraca się uwagę na kwestie związane z bezpiecznym środowiskiem oraz rozpoznawaniem zagrożeń w otoczeniu i odpowiednim reagowaniem. Nauczyciel religii ma nie tylko obowiązek zapewnić uczniom opiekę i bezpieczeństwo, ale także wyposażyć dzieci w wiedzę i umiejętności pozwalające na rozpoznawanie oraz unikanie sytuacji, w których istnieje zagrożenie wykorzystywaniem seksualnym. Podejmując wyżej zasygnalizowaną problematykę, w niniejszym opracowaniu odwołano się zarówno do prawa oświatowego, jak i do nowych dokumentów programowych nauczania religii. Zwrócono uwagę na cele i treści oraz na rozwiązania organizacyjne i metodyczne aktywności profilaktycznej w wymienionym zakresie. W tym kontekście wyakcentowano znaczenie współpracy nauczyciela religii z rodzicami, szkołą i odpowiednimi służbami (np. policją). Zaangażowanie rodziców odgrywa bowiem ważną rolę w zapobieganiu wykorzystywaniu seksualnemu dzieci.
Sexual abuse of children occurs in various social environments. Currently, this subject emerges increasingly often not only in scientific studies, but also in the public debate and in programmes of prevention and education in schools. However, there are still not enough studies on the role of religion teaching in the prevention of sexual abuse of children. Due to their educational dimension and correlation with school teaching, religion lessons play an important role in prophylactic activities. They provide the right space for taking up initiatives in the prevention of sexual abuse of children. A new curriculum for religion teaching in the primary school emphasises issues related to a safe environment and recognising threats in one’s surrounding and responding properly. A religion teacher is obliged to not only look after children and ensure their safety, but also to equip them with knowledge and skills which will help them to recognise and avoid situations in which they are at risk of being abused sexually. When taking up the issues described above, this study refers both to education law and to new documents in the religious instruction curriculum. Attention was drawn to the objectives and content as well as to organisational and methodological solutions applied in preventive activities in this regard. In this context, the importance of the cooperation of a religion teacher with parents, the school and relevant services (e.g. police) was emphasised because the involvement of parents plays a very important role in preventing sexual abuse of children.

Zasadnicze analizy dotyczyć będą treści kształcenia oraz sposobów wspierania studentów teologii w kształtowaniu dojrzałej osobowości i w motywowaniu do twórczości zawodowej. Zagadnienia te poprzedzi doprecyzowanie podstawowych terminów, takich jak: „profilaktyka”, „wypalenie zawodowe”, „formacja wstępna”.
Prevention of burnout syndrome of religious teachers is a part of current discourses on a new quality of the initial formation. Universities offering education for teachers of religion are required to conduct classes during which students are informed about the burnout syndrome as well as strategies to counter this threat. Therefore, analyses undertaken in this article are intended to show preventive measures that in the burnout syndrome issue should be undertaken in the initial formation of teachers of religion. Fundamental analyses will cover the content of education and the ways how to support students of theology in shaping a mature personality and motivating for professional work. These issues will be preceded by clarification of basic terms, such as prevention, burnout syndrome, initial formation.

Opis:: This article aims to show the importance of cooperation between religion teachers and police psychologists in preventing domestic violence. The method of analysis the literature and state documents (e.g. law of education) was used. The conclusions were presented in a synthetic way. It was noted that the cooperation of religion teachers with police psychologists serves to eliminate risk factors that can lead to domestic violence. The parties must therefore remain open towards one another, be ready to engage in dialogue and share knowledge and experience in the area of the prevention of domestic violence.
Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu ukazanie znaczenia współpracy pomiędzy nauczycielami religii i psychologami policyjnymi w zapobieganiu przemocy domowej. Zastosowano metodę analizy literatury i dokumentów państwowych (np. prawa oświaty). Wnioski zostały przedstawione w sposób syntetyczny. Zauważono, że współpraca nauczycieli religii z psychologami policyjnymi służy eliminacji czynników ryzyka, które mogą prowadzić do przemocy domowej. Strony muszą zatem pozostać otwarte na siebie nawzajem, być gotowe do dialogu oraz dzielić się wiedzą i doświadczeniem w zakresie zapobiegania przemocy domowej.
