- The social and economic development of a country is related to the quality and conditions of the work of teachers, as evidenced by the examples of the most developed countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (Finland, Ireland). The best educational systems provide, apart from individual approach to students, the high quality of education for candidates for teachers, and care taken for recruiting the best of them. While in Poland, the effectiveness of the system for educating teachers and their professional development is not monitored nor evaluated. Their predispositions are not examined during recruitment for studies, and neither are their attitudes and progress during education.
